That's yours? Where do you get it from? I just, you know, on February 20th, 2024, West De Moines police responded to a gas station after employees reported a suspicious vehicle parked for an extended period. Upon arrival, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana from the vehicle and initiated an investigation, finding three occupants, an 18-year-old, a 20-year-old, and a 17-year-old. What unfolded next was a tense investigation as the officer delved deeper into the situation, leading to further revelations. Is Is it in the center console or where is it at? What? The weed purse. It's in your purse. Can you go to [Music] me? Anything else in the car? No pipes? No. Okay. Going to put this under your wiper right now. Okay. What's your address, Amy? Okay. Where do you go to school at? Are you still in school? Online. Huh? Online. Online. All right. I'll take your phone then. Someone go on top of the car until we're done with the investigation. Investigation for what? For the drugs. What? It's illegal. The drugs that she just handed me and you're in the vehicle with it. That make sense, Mom? So, we're just going to sit sit here for a second. Okay. I have another officer coming. When he comes, we're going to conduct search of the vehicle. Okay. So, what'll happen is I'll probably have him since you're a male, I'll probably just have you have a seat in the backseat of my car and then one of them will have a seat in the just because there's only going to be that's just how I do it, man. All my stops. I I'm doing what you're doing. It's your job. So, uh I'll I'll essentially one of you will have a seat in the back of his car. You'll have a seat in the back of my car and then he'll stand out here with whoever else is out here. I'm going to search the vehicle. Okay. Um is there going to be any firearms in the vehicle? No. No uh bombs, nothing like that. No dead bodies in the trunk. All right. Dead bodies. It'd be crazy what you see out here, my man. Uh do you guys have any any bags in the car beside your purses? No. Okay. I'm going give that back to you for the time being. Okay. You can put that back in your wallet for now. Have you been arrested before, Amy? No. Your window tint's way too dark, too. Let your dad know. Okay. Your back ones can be as dark as they want. Your front ones have to have 70% light transmission. I'm guessing they're probably in the 20s. Okay. Just by how how dark they look. I bought it like that, so I don't Yeah. And and a lot of people buy them like that. Dealerships don't care if you get pulled over. You do, right? So, just make sure that I Some people ride it with window t or they come like that. Nah. So, you can see like on the edge like up here. I don't know if you can, but like the edge back here, that's it's laminated on. All right. So, I'll have you two stay in the car for right now. I'm gonna have you hop out for me. Okay, my man. No weapons on you? No. All right. I'll just have you turn around, face the car for me, and then just keep your hands up there. I'm just going to bench down. Okay. Any weapons on you at all? They Okay. You're You're how old? Me? 20. 20. You can't have that, man. I mean, they sell it. Come on. What do you Who does people People that get shut down? They do. Yeah, I know they do. Cuz it's illegal. Well, yeah. That's what I'm saying. When you go inside, they ask for ID, you give them the ID, they going to sell it to you, right? Where Where do you uh Where do you buy it from? Can't say, man. All right. Right over here right now. Okay, man. See? I I'll have you have a seat. Okay. Is there anything in the car that belongs to you? Obviously nothing in the bag. Nothing in the car belongs to you. Just the vape? Yeah. All right. All right. Amy, go and hop out for me. Do you have anything illegal on you? I'll have you stay in there for right now. I'll just have you stand right back there. Face car for me. Nothing illegal on your person at all. Okay. Just going to check your waistband right here. Make sure you don't have any weapons for the time being. Okay. No vapes, no guns, nothing like that. Okay. I'm going have you stand over here for right now. Where are you guys coming from today? Coming from? Yeah. Well, I picked them up from their homes. Okay. Where are you guys going? No. They just came here. Okay. How come you guys been sitting over here for about 15 minutes? Um cuz we went to the bathroom where we came and stayed there. Well, you guys just sitting in the parking lot for about 15 minutes doing nothing or doing nothing? Well, I mean, I just find it peculiar that most people don't sit in a parking lot for 15 minutes sitting and talking. Okay. Do you frequent this gas station often? Well, sometimes at night time. Okay. How about yesterday? About the same time. Were you over here? Um, so don't think so. Okay. So, I'm going to pull her out. She's just going to have a seat in the back seat here, and you're going to stand with this officer while I search the vehicle. Okay. Officers then initiated a thorough search of the vehicle, uncovering items that added complexity to the case, hinting at deeper involvement than initially suspected. All right. Go and step out for me. Okay. Do you have anything illegal on your person? No. Okay. Can I just pat your waist down? Make sure you don't have any firearms or anything like that. All right. So, I'm going to have you have a seat in the backseat of this patrol car. Okay. Okay. Do you have any belongings in the car? Any purses? Yeah, my purse is in the front. Either the front or the back seat. What color is it? White. White. Okay, let's go and have a seat. There's There's the rappers. Doesn't have an idea. Wasn't money in here. There's the [Music] grinder. The empty straws. All right. So, since I'm going to talk with you, I'm going to read you Miranda. Okay. So, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can will be used against you in the court of law. You understand those rights? Yes. Okay. Um, with that being known, would you like to speak to me today about what's going on with car? Yes. Okay. Um, so you picked these two up earlier, right? From their houses. Mhm. How do you know him? He's my boyfriend. He's your boyfriend? Okay. How long have you guys been dating? Like for 2 months. Two months. Mhm. Okay. How'd you guys meet? They're friends. Friends. Okay. Um, is yours? Yes. It's yours? Where do you get it from? I just know somebody from the friends that you met him through or what? Now. Okay. How much is Did you just purchase that recently? Just a little bit. Just a little bit. Like today, yesterday? Don't know. Okay. Um, is that grinder in there yours? Yeah. Yeah. What's it look like? With a smiley face on it. Okay. What do you use that for? Okay. What are the I'm assuming you roll blunts with it. The papers. The papers. Are those yours, too? Okay. Why are these two in the car with you today? Cuz that's my best friend and my boyfriend. Okay. Was there a plan to go smoke later? No. So, when I talk to these two, they're not going to say that they were planning on smoking later. You don't know. Well, you should know. If you guys talked about smoking weed, then they'll say they talked about smoking weed. If you didn't, then you didn't. Does that make sense? So, you're saying everything in that car right now is yours? Yes. Okay. Just go and hang tight for me. Okay. I'm going to come over there and talk with you in a second. Are you on probation or anything? Who's your probation officer? Uh, not I don't have a probation officer, so I had the first case. I'm going to come over there talk. I do better face to face. The boy continued to provide explanations, but his responses only created more confusion, raising doubts about the validity of the story. So, I had a first case, then uh it got dismissed. Uh, it was my attorney Gary. I had an officer that used to check in with him or whatever, okay? And then we dismissed it. They found me in it. Dismissed it. And then I got another case, I guess. And then now there's a court going on. That's it. So, right now, are you on like pre-trial release or probation or I think it's a pre-trial I've been out and then I have the trial here soon. Okay. So, what's going on today? Who Who are these two? My girl, my parents and her parents know each other. Okay. How long you guys been dating? about almost a month now. About a month. Okay. How did you two meet? It was a tour to friend. Through a friend. Okay. Um, so what's going How did you guys all get in this car today? I don't have a car. Okay. I started my new job, FedEx. Okay. I was going over the truck and all that, but then I was home trying to sleep. I work from 4:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. So, I need some sleep. What do you What are you guys doing over here? just sitting in the parking lot. We were uh she used the bathroom and the other girl. Okay. Yeah. She was like we were going we were driving around. Well, you guys been parked here for like 15 minutes before I came over here. Yeah. Yeah. But uh we were we were driving around when she picked me up. We were driving around and then we were going like back so she can drop me off. Were you guys planning on smoking today? I don't smoke. I have a big paper from the doctor when I used to go to Walke High School that somebody laced me and I cannot be like smoking weed. I have a big paper that says I almost p I almost passed away. I had 5 minute for my heart. Okay. So, you can't be around this stuff cuz it's so deadly for you. But you're in a car where all the all the precautions are for everything's there. the the grinder, the the stuff to roll it in. You know what I mean? I'm literally doing good. I'm literally almost done. He literally he took evidence everything was done. I'm assuming if you're like allergic to the stuff, then you probably know what it smells like. Did you notice the smell in the car today when you got in here? Okay. Did you question anybody about that or why it smelled like weed or if you're so definitely allergic to it? She I told her she kind of smell. So, okay. So, I told her, "I don't want to be in trouble. I don't Who smokes? Your girlfriend does. But if she if she going to arrest her, just arrest me. Well, why would I do that? Why would I mess things up for you if you're on the up and up and you're Cuz I care about I don't take Well, dude, I hate That's not how I do my cop work, man. I put people in jail that need to go to jail. And if you're on the up and up, why would I do that to you? Wish you would have what? I wish I never came here to this country cuz here all trouble. Here all trouble. I want to move out but Okay. So, just go and hang tight for me. Okay, my man. But no. So, do you have a fake ID on YouTube? No. No. I don't No fake ID. No. Okay. But if you're going to arrest her, just arrest me. For what? What would I arrest you for? Don't arrest her. Okay. [Music] Your friend's 17. [Music] Your parents know you consume a little bit. Yeah. And yes and no. Do you have to be 21 to buy the wrapping paper? Um, I don't know. I don't think so. Where do you get it from? I don't know. I don't get them. Huh? I don't get them. You don't get them? Who gets [Music] them? You found a fake ID. As officers pressed for details, the situation took a turn with new information surfacing that hinted at the potential legal consequences for everyone involved. Hello. Are you on the Are you on the phone with your parents? Should I? Yep. Let's call them real quick. Let's put it on speaker. Oh, wait. Hello. Hey. Uh, hold on. Is that mom? Yeah. Huh? Wait. Yeah. Thank you. What's mom's name? Yeah. Hello. This is Officer Lux West Police Department. How's it going today? Ashlin. Good. How are you? Doing all right. So, um I'm out here with with uh we're here at Come and Go in West De Mo. She was in the vehicle in which um there was some in with uh two other people. Uhhuh. So, I just want to ask her some questions. So, with you present over the phone, I'm just going to read her Miranda rights and I'm going to speak with both of you. Okay. Okay. We're going to start very basic here today. How did we all get in this car today? How what is like how how did we get to the car today? How are we all in this car today? Oh. Um, so we drove here. So starting today off, you just want this car. Well, no. Okay. So, how did we end up in getting in the car today? She came and picked me up. Okay. From home or? Yeah. Okay. My house. Okay. Was he already with her or Okay. Did you guys pick him up too then or Okay. How do you know uh Amy? She's my best friend. Best friend. Okay. How do you know the guy in the back? Her boyfriend. Her boyfriend. Okay. Um, what was the plans for today with all three of you? We were just going to hang out for a little bit and then we were going to go home. Okay. Okay. When did you notice the o vehicle? When we after we did it. After you did it. Yeah. What do you mean by that? After we had the weed. After you had it. So you guys just got it or So you guys just got it? I didn't get it, but it was in there when I got in the car. But it was already in there. But you just said you guys went and got it. No, we didn't go and get it. It was already in the car. So, when you guys got it, like when you retrieved it from the car is when you noticed the odor. No. So, when did you first notice the odor in the car? When we smoked it. Let's Sorry, I accident. When you smoked it? Yeah. Okay. All three of you smoked it. Mhm. Okay. Um, where was that at? Here. No. Where did you guys smoke at? When you were driving? Yeah. Okay. Whose is it? I mean, we all just shared it, but it wasn't mine. Okay. So, you didn't bring it, but you smoked it earlier? Yeah. Okay. Have you been arrested before? No. No. Mhm. Okay. Um, okay. Um, so what's up with this ID? It's fake. Okay. Um, where'd you get this from? I some girl. I just Mutuals. I don't I didn't personally know her. Okay. And what's the purpose of this? Um, at the liquor store. To buy liquor? Yeah. Or I don't know. Okay. Do you buy tobacco products at all? Yeah, just cones. Just cones? Yeah. Like the ones in the car? Yeah. What do you use those for? The weed. For weed. The weed. The weed. Okay. 4220. I'll take CCH is my email for all [Music] [Applause] three. All right, man. You still number those rightes I said to you earlier. So, I'm going to be under arrest. Huh? I'm going to be under I'm just asking if you still remember those rights, my man. Yeah. Okay. Um, so I'm not trying to violate my [ __ ] Okay. But smoking does violate your your stuff, right? You what? I didn't smoke. Okay. Do we want to start being honest with each other? What do you mean be honest with each other? Well, I don't know. Now you're smirking when I ask you if we're going to be honest with each other. No, I'm not smoking, but I'm not saying like I don't really do it. Never. I have that. I'm not going to lie. Yeah, I hit it. Okay. Cuz you know today? Yeah. Okay. But like it was my first time, you know, cuz I had the paper thing. Okay. That's your first time since you had that issue. Yeah. Because that when I somebody have like what they call cards in the school, but when I hit it, I had five minute. I would have been dead, you know. So I have that little that hard one taking. Okay. So So today you did consume. Yeah. Okay. All right. As the questioning intensified, conflicts increased and the officers uncovered further inconsistencies in the individual stories. Do you want to call dad and see if he wants to come pick up the car? My dad's truck drives. You want to call mom? On the road. You want to call mom? Uh my mom, she's not going to be able to. Not going to be able to. Okay. Well, the other options are we impound it, which would cost money. Okay. Can another parent come get it? Well, her parents coming to pick her up, and I'm assuming she's not going to be happy with you. Can she call her dad to come get it? Well, you can arrange it on your phone if you want to call somebody, a friend of yours that you want to release the car to. Can I call her mom to You can call what's her mom's name? Yeah, if you want to call and see if she'll she'll move it for you or do something like that, that's completely fine. Okay, she can do. Okay. you mind doing a transport for me? These both are going to go. Um I'm going to sight and release her for possession. Uh per and fictitious ID. I'll call Ralph like make sure he's fine with it. But it's going to be Dallas County, so I'm going have to do everything. What's that? I can't talk to you. You can't talk to me? Yeah. What do you mean? I was on the phone, my man. Oh, like I'm under arrest. Yeah, you're going to go to jail. Why? Cuz it's illegal to be in constructive possession and actual possession of in the state of Iowa. No. All of you are getting arrested for it. Hey Amy, can I just talk with you over here real quick? So, you still remember those rights? I read them to you earlier. Okay. Um, so were we all smoking on the car earlier today? Not all of us. Not all of us. Who Who was smoking? You were. Was anybody else smoking the car? No. Okay. Okay. All right. So, what you're going to do is you're going to have a seat in the backseat of that car. You are under arrest for possession possession drug paraphernalia. Okay. So, I'll have you have a seat in the backseat of his car and we'll go from there. All right. I'm going to get you a seized property receipt. I'll be back in a second. Okay. I'm just trying to grab her ID. Do you have seized property sheets? Yeah. In my back. Here's your ID. Okay. In the back. In the back hatch. Yeah. Okay. Just cuz he's in my back seat. I don't want him sitting here. So, so typically with juvenile courts, um they'll either mail you or they'll mail you probably since I'll put you down as the parent. They'll mail you um letters about what's coming up, whether it's court date, stuff like that. They'll be in contact with you or they'll give you a call. If you don't hear anything in 3 4 weeks, give call in. Just try to talk to Dallas County Juvenile Courts. Um and they should be able to talk about it. Okay. Um so there's my card on the back. It's going to be that case number so they know what's going on with it. Okay. Um this is going to be a seized property receipt for the uh the fake driver's license. Um it's a serious misdemeanor. It's the same as a possession. Okay. Um so I'll give this to her on her there. So um I am going to charge her with she admitted to she's purchasing the wraps which they're using to do the the marijuana and they're all they've been in the car using the grinder to to roll it up and smoke it today. So stupid. She's going to get the possession of first offense, possession of fictitious ID, and uh the possession of drug. Okay. Um do you have any questions about that at all? I don't think so. No. Um yeah. And then if you just want to find out about Amy's car, I guess. Yeah. I'll She's in the back of this car. I'll ask her if she wants you to move it or what she wants. Okay. You can go ahead and hop out. All right. So, I need a signature from you. It's right here. Just says that I'm seizing that fake driver's license that you can't possess. Okay. H. So today you are being charged with possession of the possession of a fictitious driver's license. Those are the same charge. Okay. You're also going to be charged with the uh possession of drug paraphernalia. Drug paraphernalia. That's the wraps that you literally said you're purchasing to wrap with weed. Okay. Um do you have any questions for me at all? No. Okay. So she's released to you. I'll give that to you since um I'll talk with Amy real quick and you can have your talk with her. Hey Amy, are you okay if she moves your car then? Yeah. Are you wanting the keys back to you or what do you want? Where is she going to move it to? I think she's just going to move it to the back lot and orchestrate with your parents later. Wait. Or somebody later in the back? Yeah. So, I'm going to go talk to them. See if they want to move. Okay. Yeah, that's fine. Okay. And then with the keys, they can one of them can take it. One of them can take it. Yeah. Okay. I'm going to talk with them. See if they're okay. They're just going back. Eventually, officers pieced together enough details to release the 17-year-old to her mother, while the other two individuals were arrested and taken to Dallas County Jail, facing further legal consequences. Are you fine if this car gets moved to the back and then stays there for a little bit? Perfect. So, they're good if you move it to the back and then uh just orchestrate getting it gone later. Yep. Um Amy wants you or you to keep the keys and she'll orchestrate with you guys on getting it back. Okay. Is she going to jail? Yeah, they're both Everybody in the car is going to jail. I mean, you can bonder out tonight if you want to. We'll have to see how much it is. I I don't know. It'll be $1,300 cash. Hey, I'm going to put this Oh, bait pen back in here. Okay. Not that they're all under 21, but I'm not even going to mess with it. So bad in here. Yeah, I could. About right here is when I could smell it. So easy to smell. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry about that. No, you're good. [Music] You have her booker done. Um, let's go in custody with her. We'll put him in custody and then I'll start working on his paperwork. You want to hop out for me? Turn. Uh, I'll just put advice in custody. So, go ahead and turn around face for me. Is there anything on your person that you don't want to take to jail with you? If you bring any anything like that into a jail, you you're going to be charged with a felony. Okay. Okay. Anything on you? No. Okay. So, just go and put your hands behind your back. I'll have you throw her in cuffs and then I'll start her property. See? Do you have any weed on you, man? No. You pretty much. Do you have any on your person? No. No, man. I don't do it. Okay. I'm just asking cuz it smells like it now. Now? Yeah, I think my breath. Your breath? Here you go, my man. Can you just do that? Have her fill it out when you get out there. I'm going to throw him in custody and then we'll You'll be good to go for sure, but I'll type my complaints for him. Step out for me. Turn face flat. Hands behind your back. Behind your back. [Music] Oh. Anything on you that you don't want to bring into a jail? Nothing. Nothing in your shoes. Yeah. Like no or No. No. Nothing. Nothing in your shoes. You seem skinny, man. Yeah. I know. That's what I was asking about your shoes when you're readjusting them. Cuz if you go into a jail, it becomes a felony. So, yeah. Like if you have a weed or weed pen or something like that on you and it goes into a jail, you automatically get a felony. So, nothing on you? Nothing. You can take me just I'm just I'm asking you right now. If you put something in there, then you put something in there. Nothing at all on your person? No, nothing. Okay. Let me try to slip those back on now. Then just have a seat in there again and we'll be on our way to Dallas County once I ask you a bunch of questions. Okay. Doing your job. Good. Do you know? Yeah, man. Sorry for giving you a hard time. Oh, you're good. You just got a bunch of questions. I understand. Yeah, I know. The 18-year-old and 20-year-old were both charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The 17-year-old faced the same charges along with an additional charge of possession of a fake identification card and was given a court date to address these offenses. When your nap turns into a nightmare, this dealer's day went from drowsy to disastrous. All thanks to a routine police check. You were placed under arrest for trespassing. Okay. And then certain to arrest, you had a ton of drugs on you. So now you got to go to the hospital, right? On July 20th, 2024, Hoboken police responded to reports of a 42-year-old Philip Steed from Hoboken sleeping in a stairwell at a residential building on 300 block of Marshall Drive. Upon arrival, officers identified the man and determined he did not live in the building, resulting in his arrest for trespassing. All right. 300 300 Marshall for the uh male sleeping on the top floor landed. We have an arcan sleeping just in case. Sleeping could look like that. It's It's fine. It's fine. All right. Receive. Hello. Thank you. No problem. All [Music] right. Noises. I ordered mine yesterday. H I ordered my fashion yesterday. Good for you. Oh, it's here. I got to do a sheet and request uh what kind of plates that we use for the other vests. So, I can use my cry [Music] carrier. Oh, nope. There was no seven and 84. That would have been it, right? [Music] Is it? Yo. Phil. Yo. Yo. What are you doing? You all right? Yeah. You want You want to sit up? Yeah, sure. You want an ambulance? Yeah, sure. Okay. Where you want to go, though? Yeah, come on. Sit up. Hey, guys. What's going on? What's going on? I'm calling you to sit up. Just sit up. All right. Why are we sitting in the hallway right now? H Why are you laying on the floor? because I'm trying to ching. All right. So, you're not meeting anybody. Excuse me. You're not meeting anybody here? No. The situation intensified when officers conducted a search and found a large amount of illegal substances, which significantly increased the severity of the charges against the suspect. [Music] You know the drill. Stand up. Stand up. Walk down to the bottom. Put your hand back. You know you can't be down here. Yeah. [ __ ] ton of drugs on last time. So just watch out. Yeah. Pocus stickers. Got some cash. [Music] [Music] Yep, there it is. All the drugs in the world. All right, we recovered a large amount of narcotics. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Guys, slow down. Slow it down. Sorry. Yeah. Do what you got to do, buddy. What happened? You were trespassing. Same as the last time. You know, you're not supposed to be in the building. You seen anybody here? You said no. You're trespassing. You're under arrest. And in search incident, you're arrest. You got all these drugs. Those open container on an open container. Oh, right here. Not walking down the stairs. It's a risk. Yeah. Last time. Yeah. So, you can go get your food. I would text you to see where you guys were. Yeah, I seen that. I The second I was like, "Oh, no." Yeah. But then it was We're coming down the elevator. Mhm. I got negative. The TV has uh PCV cans left out. Probably not. Is that what that is? Yeah. Yeah. That was that clank that you heard when I hit the stair or was that vile? Uh Just don't worry. It's the worst. Yeah, I know. Decent though. Nothing great. Well, last time that's first degree. We had I had him like a month ago. Same. So, that's first degree because they could dip that. He could sell each one individually. Let's do it. Yes. The weight of it perfectly. Yeah, I think the last time we hit him with all second degrees. No, I I PCP though I think the amount. I'm with it. I don't know how much you got. We'll see. You know what the the issue is is um we have was measuring the bottle compared to the liquid cuz you can't tell how much n the liquid itself. All you need is a little bit like this and it's you weigh it with the bottle and that's included with the bottle. That's what happened last time. We got him with this. And I believe that's included in the weight if I'm not mistaken. Actual bottle. Like you can't tear. You know what I'm saying? You can't level it out. Right. Exactly. Kidding me. What was he doing? Just chilling. He was uh sleeping. He woke up immediately. Said, "You know who you here to see?" Nobody. Just hanging out. He had a bottle next to him. Trespassing on the last time for trespassing. Don't learn. You're driving. He definitely don't learn. Nope. We just got I'm not putting him in the cell this time. All the stuff behind it. It's secured in the back. Yeah. I'm not seeing. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. No. Yeah, 100%. The suspect was then transported to the police station where officers conducted a thorough search before proceeding with the next steps. Put these back on. It's literally a copy and paste from my last time. This is I don't understand why he did not they're not holding him because like this is a lot of drugs again. Yeah. Like this is not the first time. And then certain to arrest you had a ton of drugs on you. Mhm. So now you had to go to the hospital, right? Well, you were also drinking. And it looked like you had a had a fifth of whatever it was with you. You had nothing on you, nothing that's going to poke me, stick me, anything like that? No. All right. You have a seat. They didn't want me to go put him onto the thing. I'm going to put him onto the on the ground. Every time I go to the hospital, you're in the hospital because of how intoxicated you are right now. [Music] So, somebody called or um I didn't have to do a building check. If it doesn't matter because even if I did a building check, you still aren't supposed to be there. Doesn't matter what I did. You what you did was wrong. You know what I mean? When officers attempted to transport him for medical clearance, the suspect became resistant and uncooperative, delaying the process before being transported to Hudson County Correctional Facility. All right, Phil, we got to bring you to the hospital. We can't have you in a current state the way you are. I'm in the current state. You're intoxicated. No, I'm not. What? Yeah. He's going, "Hey, don't even bring it in." We're just going to put him on the ground, guys. Come to jail, please. I'm not going to jail. I'm not I'm not going to go with me. You have to. You're going to make this harder for yourself. No, I'm not going. My man, listen to me. Joe, please. I'm being I'm being real cool with you. Listen, you are going. There's no way about it. So, either you're going to go or we're going to force you to go and you've been you've been down this route, dude. You know, it's going to just make everything longer and more annoying. All you got to do is go to the hospital. They're going to check you out. They're going to make sure you're okay. And then you're going to come back here. And then we're going to take you to the county cuz by the time you come back here, at least you're going to be sitting in a bed for a few hours while we do the paperwork instead of the hard bench. So, would you rather be in a bed or the bench? All right. We'll get you some juice. It's right there. We're going to put you right in the gurnie. Right. Just get up. You get You can stand. Do you want to help with the seat belts? Um, yeah. I don't even know which movie. No problems. I know you you're being you're actually being awesome. All right. So, thank you for listening to me. Like I said, by the time you're done in the hospital, the paperwork will be done. You won't have to sit on this stupid bench and we're going to take you right to the counter. Okay. One second. I'm a man of my word. Okay. I'm I'm going to try to be right by you. All right. I'm sorry. We'll just cross this one over. Got four right now. [Music] I'm going to angle you for a few. Okay. Do not take another step forward or you're going to go to jail. Stay back. I'm not back. I'm not forward. I went to the side. [Applause] Guys, make sure you stay for me. All you do is turn on leave. That didn't have to happen. Nope. Okay. Well, no. I'm going to just take him for the trespass and the resisting and the felony. Yeah. Huh? The police then proceeded to have a conversation with an associate of the suspect while still on the scene at the theme park, Orange County Jail. He's going to go there. He's going to get booked in and then as long as he's going to let him give make a phone call. Are you Nina? Yeah. So, he's got your phone number written down. As long as he's cool with the guards, we're going to give you a call and post a bond. But if he does what he does here, they're going to safe book him and they're not going to let they're 24 hours. So, he's calmed down now, but he can't be doing what he did. I'd probably say depending on how busy it is tonight, we'll probably calling you honestly in two two and a half hours to postpone. And there's bondsman all up and down. I'll be right back. That's where you level one, right? Yeah. Oh, no. No, I I didn't grab anything unless it was up front. I didn't grab a bracelet. I don't know. Unless it fell off back there during the arrest. I don't know. Oh, no. I didn't hand you I didn't hand you radio. Do you have a bracelet? Oh, you have it. He was then transported to the Orange County Jail for further processing. Unless it's on the hood or something like that. I didn't grab a radio. You guys got it. All right. Yeah. Sign right here. Hey, you got to cooperate and take the jack off. No. Huh? No. Hey, man. You can take off at the jail. As long as you're cool with them in the jail, they're going to let let you make a phone call like that. If you don't, they're going to say you. You can take it off at the jail. Well, you just gave us an issue. So, you No, he can roll like that. He He already fought us. So, he can roll like that. We didn't rush, man. Dude, you can already be gone. No, you're just a you're just a witness to this. Yeah. You're just a witness. So you're not saying that you weren't press the suspect was likely charged with drug possession, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. When your most loyal customer turns out to be an undercover cop, now that's a plot twist no dealer wants to see. Watch as this guy's business takes a nose dive when the raid hits home. We're in it. We're in it. It's no big deal. Oh, for a second I thought y'all ripped them. I was about to be like, "Hey, bro. Add that to the tab." On April 12th, 2024, Orland Park police executed a search warrant at the residence of 21-year-old Jeffrey Meyer, targeting him for drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession. The situation escalated when large quantities of drugs and firearms were found, further implicating him in an ongoing narcotics operation. Unbeknownst to Jeffrey, one of his trusted customers was an undercover officer who had been gathering evidence for months, leading to his arrest. I want you to talk to dad. He's being detained in custody. Yeah. Did you catch the fact that he's sergeant? Let's go. All right. So, we're talking to dad first. Well, so he's like, "Do you want should I bring should I bring a copy of the search warrant for that?" Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, just wait till he's like he's like, "Oh, so you're Chicago Heights." And I go, "Oh, no." Park goes long way from home. I go, "Yeah." Like, I really got to know what y Yeah. Huh? You want to bring the dog in? Yeah. Come here. Yeah. I'm going upstairs. handcuffs in front. Okay, sure. [Applause] You got Do you got shoes? All right. Downstairs. Do me a favor. Turn towards the office. Uh we're probably going to have you guys step off for a minute cuz the dog's going to come through here. Go in the front and then we'll have you guys come right back and you guys can sit down. Stand up. Do you got shoes, sir? Uh yes. Slides or something. And this room right here next room next to the uh far side of the room. Yeah, the gray ones. And then just talk to him. Talk to him outside. Yeah. a little bit more. Okay. All right. Back. Okay. All right. Yes, just you're not the target of this investigation, but if you are in handcuffs, I'm just going to read you Miranda rights. Okay. Okay. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him present with you while you're being questioned. If not a to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you free of charge. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. Do you understand? Yes. Just 5:15 right now. Just for purposes. Mr. Do you have any idea any idea why we would be here right now? Why the Orland Park Police Department would be here? Or Park? No. Had a clue. What about any police department? Like, like I said, you're not the target of this investigation. Exactly. I I I know that Jeff's pot. Yeah. Okay. [Music] You know, Jeffrey smokes pot. Yeah. What about your other son? Feeling that he smokes pot also, but you know. Okay, I get it. Um, so Jeffrey does a lot more than smokes pot. I'm a parent [Music] you freely about it. Um Jeffrey's delivered drugs to me as an undercover several times. Um Jeffrey has firearms um that the location says they're in this house. Illegal firearms. Um so that's that's why we're here. That's why that team came and did the way that they did. We don't know that you're a sergeant with Cook County. We don't know any any of the people and like what you guys do for work or there's not much social media that we looked for to try to prepare for it. So, um, all we know is is Jeffrey is a fairly large narcotics dealer in Orland Park in the surrounding suburbs. He Do you have any suspect of that? Like does he have Do you know what he does for like does he work? He told me he cleaned was out in Orland Park um just on 159th Street just west of uh no just between 80th Avenue and 76th Avenue. Okay, that's Jeffrey's father continued speaking with officers still unaware of the full extent of his son's criminal activities. 3 to 11 then he he goes out around 7:00 8:00 at night at night and comes home, you know, and he told me he's do he's doing that job. Yeah. So that's typically the time he's leaving and delivering drugs to a lot of people. So like I said, you're a parent, he's a parent, we're all police officers. It's a shitty spot to be in, but that's why we're here. And it's like your dad, we're going to explain to you what's going on. And that's that's what we have. I I have copies. Do you own any firearms in the house? Sounds like he has some stuff that's in the in the garage. His primary where he lives is the basement. Correct. No, he lives in that room. He lives in this room. This one right here. Oh, okay. Why why we're here and why that team kind of does what they do to get in until they know everyone's safe and then Let's get him out of the house. Yeah. [Applause] Do you work at Sorry to wake you up the way that we woke up. Had we had we known that uh we we may have gone about this a little bit differently, but there's uh circumstances. I don't know how much they told you and didn't tell you. Um there's some circumstances as to a reason why we use the team that we use. So, uh, there are some things that your son's going to have to answer to, and I'm sure you guys have a very colorful conversation about that. Oh, he was just asking me. Officers also interacted with other family members, including the suspect's brother, who appeared to be more involved than initially expected. All right. All right, just because you are in handcuffs right now, we're going to ask you a couple questions. It's 521. I'm going to read you your right silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you on court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him or her presence with you while you're being questioned. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent free of charge. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights to not answer any questions or make any statements. Do you understand? Yes. Okay. Older brother. You're the older brother, correct? You're Jeffrey's older brother. That's mom and dad. Yes. Okay. Do you have any idea why we're here? Uh I think I might. It's a shitty spot, but listen, I get it. That's why we're we're talking to you. We're talking to everybody that's in the house. Um, why do you think that we're here right now? [Applause] Uh, I don't want to say anything that would uh, you know, your brother, anybody tell you right now, you're not primary, correct? You are involved. Um, I got your names on receipts like that in Michigan. So, you're more you're a lot more involved than mom and dad. We didn't tell mom and dad anything about your involvement. Um, but that's why we want to talk to you out here before we do have to go to the police station. So, so I'm going to the police station. Sounds like it. All right. So, I mean, I got your name on receipts. So, you have some level of involvement and that's why I'm trying to gauge what that level of involvement is. If it's low and and we believe you and you're honest with us, then then maybe you don't go to the police station. Obviously, we know Jeffrey's level, so he's going, but that's how I'm trying to gauge what your level is. All right. So, I mean, are you are you making the runs, too? No. You've never made a run to Michigan? Never. Okay. Not I got your name on receipts. Not for his purposes. My purposes. Okay. So, are you also just selling bud or No, just personal use. Okay. Um, medical marijuana card. No. What? Um, realistically, man, it's weed. You know what I mean? Like, it's not the end of the world. It's weed. So, I'll tell him the exact same thing. Um, it's more of There's other issues about it, but it's weed. Okay. What's What's in this house? I mean, we're about to search it. We have We have a search warrant for the garage. We have a search warrant for the house. We have a search warrant for his Toyota Camry. Like volume like I I THC car. Just look at me. Who gives a about TH? Just relax. Okay. I'm talking is there actual is there kilos of cocaine in this house? No. I know he wouldn't touch that. Right. Exactly. Okay. Um what's in this house besid is there just THC carts, some flour, shrooms, just natural? Is that all that's in this house that you know of? [Applause] Uh, I'm gonna plead the fifth. Okay, I understand, buddy. Um, I I'm just I'm very nervous. Listen, I get it. I get it. Relax. We're being respectful to you, right? I get it. I'm trying to ease and that's You're right. And it's your brother, dude. It's It's spot to be in. I get it. Okay. Um, we won't ask any more questions. Do you have any questions for us or No. Uh, we're going to figure out if you're coming back to the PD with us or not. I'll find out. Yeah, that's about it. I'd also like to get properly dressed. Understand? Yeah, I got you. Um, who uh do we have another car here to have him sit in for a second? Um, I don't know. I don't think Yes. The receipts with his name on them and not the volume orders that Jeffrey does. So the patient ID versus the customer ID, I think that's which is still strange, but at the end of the day, he's not, like I said, he's not the target. We also don't have him delivering to 13-year-old kids. Um, his name's on receipt. His name's on receipts, but yeah, if we have stuff in his room. I mean, at the end of the day, he they said that he lives in the basement, right? So, we have to see what's in the basement. Yeah. based on the multiolored duffel bag and the blue shoes are up here in this room. Yeah, we'll see. But if Jeffrey goes in the basement, well, I guess we got to see how it plays out cuz if a workshop is the garage, then different. If the workshop's the basement and he lives in the basement, right, coming to be totally transparent with you. If we find stuff in this house that's in your room or near your room, you'll probably be coming back with us. If we don't and everything's in Jeffrey's room, then you won't be coming back with us. So that's not me asking questions or nothing like that. You invoked your right. I respect that, man. We don't take it personal. It's a job. You know, all I've got in the room is a couple carts. I'm not even asking that, buddy. We don't care about that stuff. Really, we don't. Okay. I mean, it's legal here. No questions for us, right? Yeah. Yeah. You all good? All right, buddy. Let's uh give us one sec. Okay. Additional details about Jeffrey's involvement in narcotics were shared with the family, leaving them shocked. Yeah. Nice. There we go. Can we talk to you in here, Mom? H. Is that okay? Can we talk to you? Okay. Yeah. Um, you're not hand temporarily while we're here. Before I ask you any questions, I'm going to read your rights. 5:27 a.m. You have the right to remain silent. I can say can be used in court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him or president with you while you're being questioned. You can decide if you cannot afford to hire a lawyer will be appointed to represent free charge. You can decide any time to exercise these right not any questions or make any do you understand? Mom, um I'm officer Leason. Do you have any idea why the Orland Park Police Department are in your house right now? What do you What do you do for me? What do you know? Uh for hang the only thing I know is that he they go to Jeff Jeffrey uh he just he says he works he's a parent you're a parent like our kids they lie to us it happens you know um but dad said the same thing so like we know you're being truthful with us Jeffree has delivered drugs to me numerous times. What? Yeah. So, that's that's why we're here. Um, there's a lot more that kind of goes into it, but I guess the main thing is is that one, everybody's safe, nobody's hurt, but me personally, I've exchanged money for drugs with your son. So, that's why we're here. Um, it's involves a lot of juveniles and kids and it's Yeah. So, but we'll figure it all out. But our our concern is that you're not involved. Clearly, you're not involved. Husband's not involved. Clearly, um is there any reason that there would be any drugs? Um um I know it's hard to hear. Like I said, we're all parents. We're going to get through this as soon as we can. Um and then as soon as we know what's going on, you're going to know what's going on. We're going to keep you in the loop with what with what if he's being charged with anything, what it's charged with, stuff like that. Um like I said, we're parents. We're parents first and then we're cops, right? So, do you have any you have any questions for us? Circumstances where I was not anticipating do you know there to be any drugs in this house pot? Maybe outside as far as I know. That's okay. Um, does Jeffrey or Jonathan ever talk about shooting firearms or anything like that? They don't talk to me about nothing. Okay. They just leave me leave us alone. I gota Jeffrey lives upstairs in their safe. I appreciate it. Um, do you have any questions for us? I'll try to answer any question you have for us, I'll try to answer. Like I said, we're parents. Whatever you have for us, I'll try to answer it the best I can. If you don't have any questions for us, um, we have to search the house in the garage. As soon as that's done, we'll kind of give you an update on what's going on. Jeffrey is 100% going back to the police station. And John Okay. I got um What's Jonathan do for work? Um you just dishwasher um real quick. Uh let's have dad come sit back over here and you come sit back here. So he never got charged with that murder? No, they they locked us. There's a gun right there. Hey, walk him down. All right, guys. [Applause] [Applause] on top of that. As more of Jeffrey's operations came to light, the case intensified, stunning his family. There's no fire in this room, right? Nope. There shouldn't be firearms, [Applause] right? You keep your firearms in your room where you're safe in in the safe in the basement. Okay. Which has led to a number of of uh discussion between me and Jeff. He wants a firearm in my room in case of something breaks. Yeah. I was worried about that. On top of that, not just that, but like now if we bring if we bring Jeff back and we interview Jeff and Jeff actually talks to us and says, "Oh yeah, it's me and my brother." Yeah. Yeah. Dude, I have to do with it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm I'm I'm good. I'm just establishing all of our ducks for him. We bring We bring Jeff, we interview Jeff and we didn't. We bring Jeff back and Jeff, yeah, dudes, [ __ ] it. It's me and my brother doing the whole thing. Yeah. Well, he he insists to read me in the basement, which isn't the biggest of deals, but he also the fact that you have the receipts and name on it with his name on it. And we see he's selling bulk. We see the basement light coming on and the basement light turn. We see the basement light coming on with Jeff Jonathan's car. All right, why don't you guys Hey, Rock and Ronnie. Yeah, this room is Hey, Ace. there. Knock that out. Are you guys cars parked in the drive? Yeah. Okay. Um, we're going to actually we're going to have you guys probably step out for a little bit. [Music] Yeah. Yeah. Hey buddy. [Applause] Hey. Here you go, sir. Remember recording? All right. I think it's just a bag. We should take it. Jeff that says Jeff on it. Jeff J E [Music] Fer like loose ends cuz once it's gone she leaves the switch in there. Yeah. [Applause] Not sure. Okay. this like uh single. We'll take it. Yeah. There's like the Miss Jones pre-roll from uh Michigan that he sold us. That's in there. Some of the same weed that he sold us from Michigan. Yeah. Like I was telling him it's crazy, dude. When we did the deals with him, I could see a lot of weed right there. But I'm talking to him. Car doesn't smell like weed right now. There's weed in the car. Cartridges in the car. Car doesn't smell like weed. It's weird. Anything uh open up like the Yeah. full of Yeah. I just want to make sure they're empty. They are. You don't want to bring them to show that he's back. You know what I'm saying? Old National Bank, Capital One. [Applause] All right. The search continued in a tense atmosphere with officers remaining professional as they uncovered more evidence. Um, I'm just going to hold on to his wallet from the car. I'm just kind of narrating my body cam. All right. Um, anything else? Should we take the Stizzy Pod and I mean, we're seizing the car. Just leave it in there for now. Yeah. I don't know. I think it's fine. Leave it in there for now. I just don't want to hold on to this wallet either. You want to throw one of these bags? Why keep it all? That's strange. Where do you want the keys to stay for the car? Hold them. Yeah, just hold on. Tow's on its way. We'll just need somebody to meet the tow truck at PW. That's a good point though. Why keep him just toss him? Who cares? Maybe he wants to show everybody how much how much he's moving day. Um um come for yours is good. Can I throw this wallet? One of these bags or no? I hear in the car. Car. Yeah. Just a wallet. Yeah. Vehicle. Do you want to grab the little weed things? He's doing a vehicle one. There's like a two little weed parts in there. Is uh is the new garage there? Is the garage added on the residential or is it totally separable? It's on the residential. So, it's just two premises. It's on It's on the same Let's Let's just get a copy to dad before Yeah. Yeah. We go with the garage. Yeah. I mean, we'll come back and do a secondary search. I think most of our stuff is in the room in the basement. Thanks for waking up early with us, buddy. Seriously. No worries. So, thanks for waking up early with us, buddy. Like, it's Yeah. It's early, man. Oh god, it's definitely early. I appreciate it. Hey, what are we doing? This is the car on. [Applause] I'm going to run this out cuz the car's done. This is everything in the car. F. Should I toss this in the car? I told Ron the same thing. Thank you for waking up early and being with us, man. No problem. Gotcha. It's locked. I don't have a key. Sorry. I'm not trusted with keys. Yeah, I know it's early, man. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Sir, we had to do it on a Friday, too. Took away Polo, you know. Got to do the next one on a Monday or Tuesday. I'm up. I'm up.
