Bounty hunters are empowered by an 1875 federal law that permits agents of bail bondsmen to enter residences and cross state lines in pursuit of bail jumpers. Bail jumpers offenses can range from simple misdemeanors to armed assault, drug trafficking, and even murder. This is their world. >> I still turn your hand around. Turn it around. >> Across the United States. Over 10 million fugitives roam our city streets. Fugitive recovery creatures, the real bounty hunters, are the men whose job it is to bring these felons down. To seek. To locate. To capture. To bring them back to justice. Fugitive recovery agents, the real bounty hunters, is shot entirely on location and involve people that jump bail. Although guilty of jumping bail, they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. These are their stories. >> We got felony warrants for Mr. Ronald Oliver we're going to go serve on here in a couple minutes. >> Okay. >> Um >> What kind of felonies we have? >> Felony concept of felony fraud. Basically we know the guy's there now. Uh he's probably sleeping. It'll be a pretty easy pick up. >> Is he Is he a runner? Fighter? >> No. It'll be pretty mellow arrest and unless he doesn't live in the house. >> Okay. >> You know, but >> Who lives in the house? >> Uh as far as I know just him and his girlfriend. >> Good chance he might fly though maybe. >> Maybe. >> Uh we want to do a drive-by real quick. >> Okay. >> And uh check out the house and see if the cars are still out in front and so forth whatever. >> Okay. >> Then I'll call him on his I'll call him on the side and make sure he answers the phone. >> Okay. Who do you want to >> We'll go ahead and hit the >> How do you you want to you you want to hit the front? >> Yeah, I'm >> Okay. Who do you want in the front with you? >> Uh Take whoever >> I'll take Dan with me to the front. >> Okay. >> And then uh >> We'll take the back. >> Yeah. >> Okay, that'll work out too. >> It'd probably be better to have one on the side and one in the back. >> Okay. When you get a hold of dial up Metro here so we can talk to them. We're here to help you, big guy. >> All right. Let's do this. >> Okay. Let's rock and roll, boys. >> Copy. >> We worked with Donovan in Seattle for about 15 days. And uh he gave me a call a few weeks ago. I had a bunch of cases and asked if I wanted to come down. Bring my partner Rick and Dan. And uh He said, "Yeah, no problem." So, we'll be down here for a couple days and clean up a few skips for him. >> Come standby. >> Is that the main number for Metro? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Let me give him a call. Thanks. Oh, hi. This is not an emergency. This is Steve Sandsbury. I'm a um bail agent. We're down in Las Vegas. We're from California. We're down in Las Vegas. We've already been in contact with him. Uh he he's expecting my phone call. Thank you. Bye-bye. Okay, we got a hold of Metro. And uh they know we're here and we're all set up. >> Okay. >> Is he on the run? >> Where's he at? >> Donovan, where's he at? Do we have any foot pursuits? >> Ask which house it is. Which house is it, Dan? >> Third third house on the right hand side as we're circling around. He opened the garage, pulled in he drove in a big dually. >> Okay, so how do you >> He pulled in the car is in the garage. You ready? >> Yeah, we're going to pull up or what? >> The judge has issued a warrant for your arrest, okay? You didn't take care of it. Where are your keys at? Inside the house? >> Turn around. >> All right. >> You have somebody to secure all your belongings? >> Okay. >> Okay. You doesn't Does anybody else in the house you can lock up your house or anything? All right. Okay. Let's go. >> We got this one for you, so that's all right. >> Let me check it out. How you doing? I'm going to go grab the paperwork and I'll show you what's going on, okay? Let's just hop on up there for a second, okay? Watch your step. Is this the one you didn't take care of everything? You said you took care of it. >> It's a civil matter that Well, my my wife got divorced, and she filed bankruptcy, so they came after me, and and somehow it turned into a civil deal. >> Okay, it was >> But I got bailed out. I got the paperwork cuz I got arrested, and I got bailed out, and they never gave us another court date. Nothing. >> Well, you know what? They'll they'll try to notify you once as first class mail, and if it doesn't get there, it's kind of like it's kind of like, "Oh, well." >> Ron, this is what's going on. You went down to Rubidoux Bail Bonds, bailed out. You got your Mr. Medina's warrant squashed, but your filing contempt of court was not squashed, okay? This is the warrant right here. >> I can see that, but I can I have the stuff in the house and so forth cuz my sister had to go to the lawyer cuz we went down >> Well, I just I just came I just came from court yesterday. So, you still got a warrant, though. You see what I'm saying? >> I understand. >> And um you know, that's why that's the reason why I picked you up, bro. >> I understand, but I I don't even know what I'm doing. I don't have anything I got to say. >> Okay. You Is there Is there anybody else in the house you can lock up your house or anything? >> There's nobody there. >> All right. Steve, you want to You want to walk him back You want to take him back out and so he can secure his his house? >> can let him do that for him. >> Yeah. All right. >> Look, it's only household finance, guys. They didn't want to >> Right, right. Well, well, we we didn't say that, but you know >> I know. I >> There's no bail. >> Okay, I'm going to let you go. I understand I'm not >> Nothing else. Well, I got to explain something to you first, okay? You seem like a nice guy and everything else, but I unlock these handcuffs and you run, you're going to have a lot more problems than you got now, okay? >> I understand. >> Okay, just as long as we understand each other. >> We try to we try to help everybody out as well. >> Yeah, we try to have a good, you know, relationship with people that we arrest. I mean, it's the best way to go about it. >> I mean, the whole thing on that loan is $5,000. So, if I had someone come with $5,000, that wouldn't be the end of it? >> What you're going to warrant, the judge is going to issue a warrant for your arrest, okay? You didn't take care of it. Down here at the bottom, now you've got a no bail. All right? So, when you go, basically, you're probably going to be in there till Monday or Tuesday. >> I'm not trying to raise my See, it says $5,000. What if I give it that $5,000 right there? >> Well, what I'm trying to tell you is here it is right here. The court is going to order a bench uh for the bail to be forfeited, and it says blah blah blah right here. Further order of the court is entered a bench warrant, no bail until brought to court for a hearing. >> So, once we get the warrant, that's the judge's order to us. If we violate that, we've got problems. >> May I know why you divorced her? >> Well, >> Hey, so there's there's a few of us out there in the past >> to call somebody or >> Yeah, can I call my girlfriend? Is that okay? >> Yeah, go ahead. Then um we'll have when my partner pulls up, pull your truck in and you know, lock your house up for you. >> Yes, he'd be back out. He checked the registration, didn't care. I don't remember. I guess I got nervous. I'm sitting at Whitehall all weekend. That sucks. Can I smoke a cigarette? Am I allowed to smoke a cigarette? I appreciate that, man. >> Do you want to see him? I'm >> No, it's cool. >> I'm going to jail. >> Okay. >> I'm going to jail. Cuz of that thing that when I got bailed out and it the they said they're going to screw me, remember? Well, when we went down to the thing, well, I'm going to jail. They're here. They just arrested me. So, I need to take care of the house. Anyways, and there's no bail. They said I can't even pay the money to get out. Well, that's what it is. I'll be down there in a few been a little while. I'm going to give the dog some water. And they're here to arrest me. They're right here. They've already arrested me, actually. They took cuffs off so I can give the dog some water. And they said I can't bail out. I don't know. That's what they say. I'm going away for a while. I'll be gone for the weekend, guys. Good luck. >> They're pretty simple. Basic >> I don't think >> Basic uh you know, surprise arrest or whatever. The guy pulled up in the garage. He passed We passed right by him. And then he circled around and it's I don't know. But some of them don't >> You know, when they know that they're scared >> 80% of the time it's a surprise anyway, so. >> Let me go ahead and put the cuffs back on. Let me know if they're too tight. You can call me at 6:30 15. >> Yeah, we can leave a message. >> Can you book me in? >> Once you have him, you can get him out. >> All right, in the middle. >> Is this a no bail right now? >> Mhm. There you go. >> Is it too tight on you? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> I'll adjust it for you. >> That's too much. >> All right. >> be going to bump you back here shortly. >> All right. >> You're playing it pretty cool, huh? I'm not going to put the strap on you. >> Yeah, nothing like that. Okay. >> If you get to kicking, we're going to have to strap you down. You guys just >> Don't trust anybody do you? >> No, no, no. >> No, no, I didn't think so. >> It's just for safety of both you and us. >> Yeah, I Okay. Donovan. How far away is Metro from here? >> Uh about 2 hours. >> No, they're probably about 15-minute drive. >> Okay. >> 10 to 15-minute drive. Did you get a hold of uh >> Yeah, I called him already. >> Did you Did you start >> Uh he's not working. He's going to pay He's going to meet me later. >> Okay. >> So, we're just going to book him in at Riker's Island. >> You should see DC then. >> Whatever Whatever you want to do. >> is probably me. >> Okay. All right. >> I'll be home in a minute. >> When we got divorced, she filed bankruptcy and I co-signed it was for her car for her mother and I co-signed and she filed bankruptcy and then in the divorce decree, but they don't care about divorce decrees, you know. I said, "The hell with you guys. I'm not paying this." for her mother and then they some shady lawyer, whoever did it, obviously knows the judge cuz they took it, you know, now I got to get arrested on it month and a half ago, 2 months ago. And I went and they didn't give me a court date when I left and I went down to the courthouse. They don't They didn't even notify the bail bondsman, obviously, because I mean, I thought you're supposed to. I Isn't that I don't know what the rules are. >> It's It's all in the paperwork. >> Yeah, but see, they didn't even cuz the bail bondsman didn't have no court date. He He still didn't have one. We had to go up to the courthouse, get my file and get copies and take it to him because they didn't send him nothing, either. >> Mhm. >> So, it's just some lawyer doing his job, I guess. I don't know. >> They doing like that. >> They in paradise. >> You know, I hate to I hate to tell you this. You're the first guy's been back here ever. >> Really? >> You hopped back there, right? >> Yeah. >> It's warm. Did the fan help a little bit? >> It does, but the backside is hot. It's hot today. >> Is it? >> It's not supposed to be comfortable, I guess. >> No, I know. We We padded the seat, all right. It's supposed to be comfortable as can be. Is he passed out? >> No, not yet. >> Is it hot back there? >> Yeah. >> All right. Well, Oliver, what are we going to do with you? I got a war a warrant notice here from the court saying that let's see here. You missed court on uh You missed all your municipal courts on the 1st, but you took care of those. And then you missed on your uh household finance for the uh the July 2nd thing on yeah, June 3rd. And they wanted you to pay 5,000 bucks or your body, and I wasn't paying 5,000 bucks. So, I talked to my insurance company, and they decided that uh you know, send out the letters to your indemnitor, Tamara, and uh see if she wanted to help you out and get you back into court, and nothing happened. But, you did have a court date. Your court date was June 3rd, man. And they had sent me a letter saying to pay 5,000 bucks or get you back in jail. Right now, the right the judge ordered a no-bail bench warrant for you. So, right now you have no bail until you see the judge. Hopefully, the judge will work with you and either get you a bail or just owe you and let you out. But, right now you're on no bail. You have no bail right now. The judge ordered that. If he sets you up with a $5,000 bail, we'll bail you again, and you don't you don't need 5,000 cash, and I'll work it out like we did last time. Well, the main problem was that you missed court and then didn't no contact us. And uh Tamara wasn't too happy. She's kind of glad you're back there. Cuz she doesn't have to pay 5,000 bucks now. All I know is that the the court sent me the letter saying that you missed court, and uh you know, I talked to my insurance company, and they decided that we weren't we had nothing against the $5,000. And all what was a title to a car. >> Do you need a blank one? >> Okay. All right. We're in the city of Tulare and uh we're after this individual who jumped bail out of uh Monterey County, city of Salinas. And we've got him located here in the city of uh Tulare. His name is George Vierra. He's wanted on uh several counts, burglary charge, possession of stolen property, and two or three drug uh charges. So, uh and he's also he also has charges out of this local area. And uh the problem we're having with this case is that uh all the charges that he's got pending here are uh misdemeanor charges, so if they take him into custody, they're going to cite him out, which is not going to do us any good. Uh we'll still be responsible for the bond. So, I'm going to have to arrest him, take him to Salinas and surrender him in the city of Salinas. That way we can have our bond exonerated. My partner's down at the uh location now watching for uh see if the individual leaves the house. We don't know whether he's employed or not and uh so uh we're going to get down there on location and see if we we uh we'll wait for him to come out of the house. Here's the back part of it right there. See if uh the round dome >> Mhm. >> the top there. >> Uh-huh. >> It's a weird looking >> cone >> cone shape. Well, it's a big house with a lot of windows and doors. Now, I'm going to call a third person in so they can get either hit watch the back or the sides. There's a lot of windows on the side of the building and I don't think two of them can cover that whole area. I'm going to go back to the uh the other van and I'm going to get me some I need to get a third here to the hill. Yeah. >> It'll be about uh about 30 minutes. >> 30? >> Yeah, 30, 45, something like that. >> All right, go ahead and give us a call when you get in town. >> Okay. >> Move up another block so you'll be closer and better radio communication. I'll move over there by the uh store. That way we can keep an eye on the back cuz he might be going out the back door. >> Okay, sounds good. >> Look over to the right. He's out in the middle of the street. Go on the other side of him. He's wearing that pink shirt. >> All right, I'll go around. >> You there? >> Yeah, I'm I'm right here on the corner. >> Okay, we're going to move in. >> He's right here playing on the curb. >> How you doing, George? >> Huh? >> Want to lean up against the car here? We got a warrant for your arrest. You got any drugs, knives? >> Nope. >> Put your Anything in your pockets, George? >> No. >> I got a knife in my back pocket. >> Yeah, I got it. >> I'll get the knife. >> How about this? >> Nope. >> Whatever works for you, George. >> Huh? >> Didn't have a way to get there. Well, I guess what? You got one now. >> Put him in the back there. I'm going to lock these otherwise they're going to tighten up on him. Just tighten up on him. >> Okay, you know what? Man, I got a long way to go. I think what I Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This is what I'm going to do. I got to take you all the way back to Salinas. So, I'm going to make you comfortable all the way down there. I'm going to put the cuffs in front of you. Don't mess around. Instead of going to the court, you're going to go to the hospital first. You don't want to do that, all right? Okay. >> The judge said told me to, you know, do my go to drug classes and I didn't I didn't I violated that. So, maybe that's what it is. But, I never I never got under the influence. >> Yeah. >> It was just possession. >> Possession, okay. >> And the judge told me that it was all misdemeanors. I was supposed to go back up there, but I didn't have a way, so >> Yeah. >> there I sit. >> Okay. Yeah, it went down pretty smooth. We didn't expect him to be here at that residence. We figured he'd be at home this morning. Luckily for us, we just waited and followed the other cars and if we'd hit that residence this morning >> [music] >> Bounty hunters are empowered by an 1875 federal law that permits agents of bail bondsmen to enter residences and cross state lines in pursuit of bail jumpers. Bail jumpers' offenses can range from simple misdemeanors to armed assault, drug trafficking, and even murder. This is their world. >> I said turn your hand around. Turn it around. Bail enforcement agency. >> Across the United States, over 10 million fugitives roam our city streets. >> I ain't going back to jail. >> Fugitive recovery agents, the real bounty hunters, are the men whose job it is to bring these felons down. To seek, >> Go go go go go go go. >> to locate, >> Hang on. Get your hands up. >> to capture, >> Back up. Down. All the way down. Don't move. >> to bring them back to justice. Fugitive recovery agents, the real bounty hunters, is shot entirely on location and involve people that jump bail. Although guilty of jumping bail, they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. These are their stories. >> Before I go out on any case, I like to review our cases. We like to find out if our individuals that we're picking up have weapon violations. If they have a felony criminal history. If they do, we use a different weapons. One of our choice weapons is this shotgun. We have a sling on it. Pistol grip. It's a eye-opener. Definitely gets us into the door and while we're in there we can fasten this over our shoulder and while we secure our individual. Best weapon I use is my head. And from there, you know, I can determine whether or not we're going to be needing sidearms. We use a 9-mm sidearm. We practice safe weaponry. We always keep them unloaded. No bullets. No magazines. When I'm undercover, I have a shoulder harness. It fits right in there, nice and snug with our thumb clip. So it doesn't pop out if I happen to run and it's concealed. From there, my sidearm, another 9-mm. All weapons I have are the same, interchanging magazines. So, no matter what weapon I'm using, I have the same magazines for it. Goes in my holster and that is also secured. So. Basically, on this particular case today that we're going to be going out on, it's possible that we may be needing our pepper spray. This is 10% cayenne pepper. If used correctly, it can subdue the defendant 30 to 45 minutes. So. Hopefully, we don't have to use any weapons except our intelligence. >> Okay. I know. Remember yesterday when we went to the house everything, it's sitting in a cul-de-sac. And what we're going to do is we're going to pull up on the far side. And if her truck is there, we'll go ahead make the entry. So, if you just go right on up to the front door and and uh announce ourselves and everything. >> Go ahead and ID her. >> Right. And remember, this is this is a photo of her right here. Now, she's about 5'4, about 110 115 lb. And right now she's got short hair. So, and the bail that we bailed her out on is two two charges of forgery, and she failed to appear on those charges prior. So, right now we're holding the bond. >> And she's supposed to be driving that black and white truck, Blazer type. >> So, if it's there, just go ahead and knock on the door. >> And uh you're going to do the entry on her and everything. Go ahead and ID her, and I'll be right behind you >> Okay. >> to enforce our action here. So, I don't think she's going to be violent, so. I don't know if we're going to do pepper spray if need be or stuff. >> Okay. >> Everything, so. All right. Well, let's go do it. >> Okay. Her home is on the right side. >> She's home. >> Is she home? >> Yeah, she's there. >> She's there. >> Okay, there's her truck. She's in the garage. >> Somebody's there with her. I wonder, I wonder. She Is that her? >> be her in the car. >> Karen? Karen? >> Yes. >> Could you come out here for a second, please? >> Don't bring any weapons or anything out with you. Okay? Come on out. You got a warrant for You got a warrant. Okay. Yeah, I want you guys just to come out. >> Hi. >> Have a little bad news for you. We have a warrant for your arrest. >> Yes. >> We have to take you in. >> Okay. >> All right. >> You have no weapons, no drugs, no needles. >> going to She's going to search you real quick here, okay? >> How come you >> She's fine. >> Okay. Hold on a second. Let me tell them what happened. >> Gone. >> He's the one who authorized us to pick you up, okay? All right. We're going to go right here, this way. >> How come I can't go? >> Can you scoot into the middle? >> Right now. >> Random. >> All the way in, please. >> Just leave my car like that and I'll do it when I get back. Just leave my car. You guys just leave it like that and I'll do it when I get back. >> We found out that that She's got a warrant for $4,000, okay? >> Mhm. >> So, uh right now you're going to need 10% of that plus processing, okay? And our fees, if you can come up with the smaller amount, >> No problem. >> It It needs to be uh uh cer- certified of the 10 funds, okay? It can be cash. Uh they do accept credit cards and everything. And plus you're probably going to end up needing to co-sign for her, okay? Because she could bail through for this one. >> Right. Right. >> So, uh uh after the new bond is posted, she'll be out in about 2 or 3 hours. >> Okay. Okay. >> She most likely is going to need a ride from St. Louis. >> All right. So, um they are they are going to take her all the way to St. Louis, so uh >> Yeah, that's that's where we're going to take her, so we have no choice but to surrender her. The only way to get her off this bond is to exonerate it, and she has to be, you know, uh remanded to the custody of the sheriffs for release. >> Sure. >> And we're not going to release her. >> I'm just going to pay this and get you out, and then we'll worry about how you pay me back later, okay? >> Okay. I need my cleaning supplies here. >> it. You're going to have to take the St. Louis. You're going to have to go through the They're going to have to go through the procedures, and uh it'll be a couple hours, okay? But don't worry about it. >> And he's coming down. >> Don't worry about it. >> I have a warrant today. >> Okay. >> Don't let him do anything. >> Hey, Karen. I talked to your bondsman. And he is willing to re-bail you, but that's after we have you booked and processed. So, uh right now you got a $4,000 warrant for your arrest, and uh we're going to go ahead and surrender you on the bond. Uh the people at the house there said they're they're going to uh try to help you out every way they can, and uh I believe he's a homeowner, uh your friend there, and he said that he would uh co-sign for you, so at least you have a couple friends out there willing to to help you out in this situation. Your biggest uh fault in this whole thing was you didn't communicate with the bondsman. I think it >> to, and my lawyer said >> Yeah. I think I think if you would have talked to the bondsman a little more frequently, let him know what's happening, >> tried. >> where you're hanging, and uh how you want to take care of this thing, >> I know he's not. >> you know, and what we would have been able to resolve the situation without us coming out to resolve it for you. >> but if you only have money, what are you going to do? Are you supposed to go rob a bank? >> No, we're not endorsing anyone to rob a bank. >> So, then what are you saying? If you only have money, what are you to >> What I'm saying is is that >> at first, I mean I didn't grow up like that. >> what I'm what I'm saying here is that you had the opportunity to >> How do you get the money unless you don't have it? >> You should have showed up in court and explained that to the >> Oh god. >> And everybody Everybody was going to court Monday that I picked up. >> yeah. Well, I know everybody says that. >> San Luis Correctional Facilities is run by the Sheriff's Department. So, um after we get around this bend and everything will be coming up close to the the jail, and that's where we're going to be surrendering. All right, Karen. Watch your hands. All right. Okay. Look back, I'll deal with you and get the paperwork on her. Okay. Here. You want to go in and sit all the way to the far left-hand corner of the place, okay? All right. They're going to process everything real quick for you, and then as soon as they're ready for you, they're going to we're going to walk you around the side and put you through the door, okay? I'm going to be taking you right around to the side door right here. Here they are. Waiting for you. Patty, how are you today? Pretty good, how about you? We're doing great, okay? Here's our female, if you You pass her cuffs through when we Okay, thanks. Thank you. Okay. I got all the paperwork on her, so That was a good arrest. Went down real good, you know. >> Easy. >> Yeah. You know, it was great, you know, driving up there and and her truck was there and, you know, she was underneath the truck. >> car. >> Oh, yeah, it was real good, you know, I'm I'm I'm glad she was real cooperative and everything, so. Yeah. >> Yeah, well, you know, I'm I'm glad she was real cooperative and everything, so. >> Nice. I like her. I hope she works things out. >> Well, you know, she's going to get re-bailed, so, you know, that's the the positive side of this and she's got a new court date and uh >> Try to get her life straightened out. >> I I sure hope so. >> Uh we're looking for uh Mr. Fisher here. We got a uh lead from a CI that um a woman had seen him as early as yesterday at the Razzle Dazzle Laundromat, which is not far from his alleged residence. It's alleged. Open the door. Go to the back. Cut my arm open. I know. Uh we then went to a woman who had some information for us. We went over to her residence to talk to her. As it turned out, uh she was on the phone uh with this woman, Zenna Nixon, who we believe to be the girlfriend of our fugitive. Uh she gave us a lead. >> Looking for a black woman in her 20s? >> Not in this house. Not in this house, you ain't. >> Is there a boarding house here? >> No. >> This is not a rooming house? >> There was people upstairs that lived here, but they got thrown out. >> How long ago? >> Um >> June or July? First of July. >> 3 months ago. >> In the middle of the summer they >> Uh that's fairly recent. There's no no It's not a black family, a black girl living here? >> No. >> You got the front, we got a fire escape uh back here. No door, just windows. I'll watch the back. Want you to hit a door and see if you can find out where this woman's at. >> Not on this block, but on that block over there, in the 700 block. >> Going down this way? >> Yeah, but on the other street now, one street down. There's a bunch of them around here. >> Mhm. All right. Hot. >> He called >> Driving by central. Can we get in here? >> Huh? >> Can we get in? She's not home? >> Yeah, she ain't home. >> Door. You got the fisherwoman living here? Says it on the mailbox. All right, once we get down to Park, uh we're checking out some leads around town. Running into some CIs who gave us information that our subject Henry was in the company of his girlfriend Zena Nixon. Confirmed that he was driving a black Nissan Sentra. We're looking for that vehicle. Then we got another lead that Zena Nixon was working through city. Matter of fact, just at the time we got to this informant's house, she was on the phone with Zena Nixon. I got on the phone with Zena, explained who I was. She told me she was working at 6:00. I told her not to leave the place until we got down here. We get down to the place, we get into the place, we have her page, she comes down, we talk to her on the side. Turns out she tells us that Henry was actually inside the city at the time. >> I was told that it was drug warrants to go to court in Freehold. >> Freehold? >> That's what you're saying? >> Uh-huh. Could be a different warrant. You popped a couple of days ago here, too, man. >> To what? >> They didn't know that they were looking for you last week. >> No, I didn't either. >> At that point, we had to do a quick takedown for the fact that effecting arrest as quick as possible would avoid any liability problems or anything happening with the general public. This gentleman could have been armed. >> All of a sudden. >> It's the fisherman self. Picked him up in the lingerie department. Inside of Value City, inside of there. Effected the arrest real quick. It was a quick takedown. Now we're going to get him ready to transport him down to Monmouth County, turn him over to the Sheriff's Department. Yeah, I got I got something on him. >> Give me Give me your cupcake. coffee. >> I love these guys. Look at that. New Jersey State Conference of Sheriff's Officers. This is the certificate that Henry is entitled to every courtesy. Well, Henry, we just entitled you to a very good courtesy. >> Not of Pixley Tipton Substation. He was original arresting officer on our our defendant that we're going to be out looking for, Francisco Diaz. This was your case and what what happened on this guy anyway? >> The suspect was involved in a vehicle burglary and had fled the area with the victim chasing him and using a cell phone he advised us that he was uh advised us of his location. On our arrival the suspect had already taken leg bail into a great vineyard and with the use of canines and a CHP helicopter we were able to locate and apprehend him. >> He was arrested for vehicle burglary 459 and then I've noticed there was a 245 on here, assault with a deadly weapon. >> Yeah, well, he was uh attempting to flee the area originally with the victim. He tried to run him over with his vehicle. >> Oh, okay. Have you you've had contact with this guy before then, huh? >> Yeah, down in the Early Mart area. >> Is he like habitual uh burglar or is he a wannabe type or I don't know. >> He and the two suspects that were arrested with him have had prior burglaries in the Early Mart area. >> Okay, and then well, obviously what's happened uh he was bailed out by a bondsman and um he failed to appear in court. >> His family or friends might try to hide him as well. Um as far as priors leg bailing prior to this original arrest that I made on him, I haven't had any problems with that. >> Okay. How about weapons or anything like that, do you think? >> Uh he's not known to carry any weapons. >> Okay. All right, well, let's go snap this dude so we can get him scooped up. This really worked out well. Um it's not all that often that the original arresting officer that you have is also the one that we have going out with us again. He knows the suspect. He's been He's had to deal with him before. The only thing that we're anticipating when we go out there is just that he may take like the Deputy Clawson said we may try to run off, take like bail on us or something, but there again, that's the reason for the the other backup unit that we're going to have out here. The other unit uh has arrived, so we're on our way out right now to the rural area where this D is supposed to be located at. From what they're indicating, the uh the residence where this guy has been staying at is in a somewhat of a camp type of atmosphere. It's primarily the farm workers and and their families that live out here in this area. >> This is the blue house that the guy is living in. >> Francisco is in there. >> Hi. >> Hi. >> Is Francisco in here? >> Yeah. >> Where is in the back? >> I don't know. I don't know him. >> Where did he go? >> Huh? >> What's your name? >> Is Francisco your son? >> I don't know. >> Francisco? >> Francisco is there. >> You're the You're not your son? >> He was just here a couple of minutes ago. >> He was not your son? >> No, huh. >> We have another address over on North Avenue where we're going to double-check on find out and see if we can get him picked up over there. Hi. >> Hi. >> I'm here for Francisco. I got a warrant for him. >> Oh, he's not here. >> Where's he at? >> He doesn't live here. >> He doesn't live here? >> No. >> Okay, I still have I spoke to somebody earlier and they said that uh he was coming back here. >> Who? >> Okay, now before I even I got a warrant and I am going to search the premises. Before I even get started doing that, I'm going to forewarn you right now. If he is here and if I arrest him here, he will go to jail for harboring. So, you need to tell me the truth right now. >> He's not here. >> Okay. When was the last time that you saw him? >> I haven't seen him in weeks. >> In weeks? >> Yeah. >> He has warrants. He's supposed to go to court. >> Well, he doesn't live here. Sorry. >> Okay, well, this is the address that he gave us here. >> Well, he doesn't live here. >> Well, we made an attempt over at the uh address that we had and turned out to be with negative results. So, what we're going to do as opposed to just going out and just hitting whatever locations we feel that are would be good locations, I'm going to go ahead and put a lot more investigation in. So, until I get able to get more information, solid information on it, then I don't want to be stirring up too much dust, so to speak, and uh possibly scare the guy off. >> Hold on. I said turn your hand around. Turn it around. Bail bond violators. >> Across the United States, over 10 million fugitives roam our city streets. >> I ain't going back to jail. >> Fugitive recovery agents, the real bounty hunters, are the men whose job it is to bring these felons down. To seek, >> Go, go, go, go, go, go, go. >> to locate, >> Hang on, you're under arrest. >> to capture, >> Federal >> Down, all the way down. Don't move. >> to bring him back to justice. Fugitive recovery agents, the real bounty hunters, is shot entirely on location and involve people that jump bail. Although guilty of jumping bail, they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. These are their stories. >> The hoods are out tonight. Right now, we're going after uh Gary Dale Pike. Gary Dale Pike's wanted for embezzlement. He fell up here on the those charges. Went to the court, checked out his um court minutes and um he's supposed to back go back to court, but he never did. So, I called him up, talked to him, asked him what what's going on with his court dates. And um he straight out just lied to me. He said, you know, he was been going to go going to court. Gary Dean's been getting taken care of. He's got his court date of next month. But, his record shows he never have been to court since a couple months, actually. Judge for that case put out a no bail warrant, which is once he gets arrested, he gets he gets put back in jail. He can't bail out. The judge really wants to see him. Right now, we're going to head up to his house. Hopefully, he's still home. On this case right here, hopefully, it'll go down smooth. Like I said, we never know what's going to happen when we you know, hit a building. It's a small charge. The guy looks like a business, you know, tight, but I said, just cuz they look quiet doesn't mean they are quiet. Me and Tim have been working about 4 or 5 years. Uh I think we're one of the few team bounty hunters around here. I know a lot of other bounty hunters have uh you know, other people helping them, but me and Tim are just we're both a team. We've been doing it both the same amount of time. Pike's address is right off by the freeway 99. We're going to go up the back way cuz it was gated earlier. I don't know if if they keep the gates closed or not. So, hopefully they're open. We just drive in. I would get that play this one by ear. Pretty good chance he's home. I talked to him a couple days ago. Family man, should be home. Right now we got to pull uh the gates are closed. And um we're trying make it in with another car. >> turning in. >> Yeah, we got it. But I'm a little worried the gates are going to be totally closed and we can't get in, but actually looks open. I guess the side gates they close them up. I know he's going to cruise by um see what's what. See if we can spot his car. Lot of people moving out tonight. My partner spotted out his car in the burgundy red station wagon with his um last name on it. So, if it fits that description, probably he's parking and going on foot just to see what I can see. Probably more likely just knocking on the door and ask for him. He can make a phone call. A lot of people out tonight. Still got to be careful we don't cause no hassle, but scare out some of the people. Yeah, people know we're out here already. I walked by the the front house. I checked his car. It's still a little warm. Walked to the front um the door. Just lined up window right there. You can see him on the couch. Looks like him, but I want to um get a really good eyeball on him. How do you want to do it? Just pull up in front? >> Well, pull up in front and knock on the door. >> Just knock, call him out. If he don't want to come out, just chase him. >> Yeah. >> Hopefully everything goes out smoothly. Just have him come out. >> Perfect. >> I want I want to go in where I can see Who is it? >> He's working on something right there. >> Open door, Gary. >> Open door. >> He's got a warrant for his arrest. >> Why me? >> Just open the door. >> Open door. >> Bro. >> He told me he was going to call me. >> He's got a warrant for his arrest. He didn't show up for court. >> I didn't get a notice. >> He just needed to show up. >> I'm sorry. >> Open the cabinet. >> Joey. >> We're going to have to take him. >> Freddy, I didn't get the notice. >> You won't get no notice. You won't get no notice. When you're bailed out, they give you a court date, and the court is supposed to give you a court date. >> my lawyer again. >> Okay, let's go. >> I'm not >> We've got to go. Don't >> Call Call Rebecca Bell. >> You call. You call him up. >> Wait. Wait. >> I've got to get my heart medicine. >> Can you bring us his heart medicine from please? >> Uh uh I I don't know what's going on. >> He's got no He's got no bail warrant right now. Take him inside. >> No, but the problem is he's um >> It's all right. You got his medicine, yes or no? >> I'm sorry. >> You got his heart medicine, yes or no? Let me have it, please. >> Okay, let's go to the car. They're getting your medicine. >> Okay, take him. >> All right, go. >> Let's go to the car. Well, he just told you. >> He has no bail warrant. He's not getting out of jail. >> Okay, fine. >> He has no bail warrant. He's not getting out of jail till he goes to court. >> No, but the problem is he needs to contact with his attorney. >> Yeah, yeah. But let the attorney handle it. The court has given us the order to pick him up. >> I don't know what to do. >> Make sure he's >> Rebecca Bell Bonds. >> Let me wait till this finishes. >> Rebecca Bell Rebecca Bell Bonds. >> Okay, he's got a warrant. We've got to go. >> I didn't receive any any notice. >> They won't send >> you no notice. They give you a court date when you're there at court. >> No, I didn't receive one. I had This is what happened. I had my last court date and then when I went into court I had a heart seizure. >> Uh-huh. >> And then I I I told the guard that and then he uh he uh said okay and then I called my doctor and I said the doctor wants me to check in the uh community immediately. >> Uh-huh. >> And then I had another uh bypass. I had another heart surgery. >> Okay. >> And and I said well they sent me a notice with a new court date. And they said yes. And and that's what happened. >> Yeah, if you didn't do what going to the court they would have charged you like $45 and give you a new court date. >> Well you see they didn't tell me that. They The doctor said just notify and I I had my letter back in and I told the guard. >> Yeah, I see the doctors don't know the the law. The law. Yeah. What you need to do is call your bail agent. Or call court and they would have told you what you have to do. >> You see they didn't I went and handed back in after I told them I said I said I said my doctor wanted me to check in the the Fresno community immediately. >> Uh-huh. >> And that doctor And and I went back and told the court and they said okay we'll tell the judge. And I said okay and then I from there I went to Fresno community immediately. >> See what happened is the court never got no They didn't know what was going on. To them all you you just didn't show up for court. >> No, that that's not true. I was in court. I was I was physically in court. To the uh >> No, you guys can't stay in out. >> So how can I get this straightened out tonight? >> Okay, well tonight uh we we have to take you in already. We have you in custody. >> What would be the bail? >> Uh there is no bail. So what well to have to wait till you go to court. Explain to the judge, you know, what happened. If maybe you can have your mother take some kind of documentation showing that you were in the hospital and stuff. >> Yeah. >> And they'll probably hopefully the judge will give you a another bail or he might be >> I see a judge? >> Uh Okay, once you're taken in, it's got a no bail, you know, it's up to the court when they have an opening. It could be Monday, it could be a week from now. >> That's ridiculous. I showed up for court. I told the guard. >> Now we'll get it straightened out up here, so >> I told the guard that. >> Okay, well, let's find out. >> And >> When we go over there >> There's a There's even a showing of they give me a When When they put the thing in my heart, they gave me the date of surgery. >> Okay. >> And it's in my wallet. >> Okay. Uh When we go in there, we'll see what we'll explain to them and see what they say. Okay. >> I I I showed up. I I showed up and and all I know is I was to appear again in October 20 8. Even Rebecca Bellbond's called me and she and I I said, "I'm supposed to I'm scheduled there for a court appearance in October." >> Okay. I know this cell cell from where Bellbond's down in Brooklyn and she just sent out a warrant on a subject. Uh last name of Price. First name of Gary. Got a middle name of Dale. DOB of 12/4/7. 47. He should have a no bail warrant. Yeah, we confirmed it earlier. Can you just send it down? All right, thank you. >> But my mom's broke. My lawyer's broke. I'm broke. >> Oh. >> And And I was in court that day. And isn't there any way that you can go >> Well, what happened between Well, I said your doctor and the court they never showed you in custody or they never showed you show up during the court. >> Yeah. But, I was there. I talked to two guards there. >> Yeah, but you never talked to the judge. When they call up your case and all the judges ask is is Gary Piper you're not there. You're, you know, eating up here. You're failing to appear. >> Yeah. >> I'll go ahead and have him. >> Yeah. Yeah. Right. You mean Right. warrant An officer has to sign it off. Yeah. An officer has to sign off a warrant. If there was no warrant, we could just 1,300 him on the bond. You know, just arrest him on the bond. Since there's a warrant showing he has to be taken in on the warrant and officer has to sign it off. >> Yeah, both the cards were there. Yeah, that's why the doctor wanted me to report it. >> The closer we got to the jail or once we got to the jail, that's when he really it finally hit him that oh, you know, I'm staying in here. You know, I I have a no bail warrant. >> Okay, yeah. >> started saying oh, my chest hurts. Started kind of breathing a little heavier. And then something like that by law we have to let the nurse say hey, I got to take care of him. >> Rick and I have been together for about 6 7 months now. We formed a company Risk Management Group. And we've been working together 50/50 ever since. Um this particular case should be Yeah, pretty cut and dry. We're going to go up there uh and check out the neighborhood first. It's going to be a trailer park. Uh we know what kind of vehicles are supposed to be in the trailer park as far as her trailer is concerned. Uh we're going to make sure she's there first and after that we're it's just a matter of getting her to the door when we get to the trailer. Uh we'll probably try one scam or another to make sure she gets to the door without having to uh uh run in the trailer ourselves. Don't want to >> try that approach if at all possible. >> We have uh an informant that has called the bondsman, an anonymous informant, and told the bondsman that she knew where Laura Thomas was at. Uh and she gave the directions to the trailer. She's done this twice now. The first time she gave him inaccurate directions. The bondsman looked for it, couldn't find it. I think from what I understand he took a right instead of a left past Silver Lake uh Fish and Oyster Park. Now he's been told to take a left and it's a blue trailer on the left-hand side. Your radio. >> Right now we're just uh just making sure that everything is ready for us to uh go do the takedown. We're going to use a taser gun in case we get a closed-in confrontation and it's going to be non-lethal. Uh it What it does it produces a 50,000 V shot. It cuts off. Takes about a second and a half to 3 seconds for it to work. Uh it takes the uh sugar supply out of the muscles and renders the uh person that's on the receiving end of it unable to fight and puts them down on the ground. It's non-lethal. I'll have that and I'll have the cuffs. And the reason I'll have that is cuz I'll be doing the cuffing so I'll be closed in. Jay will have the gun, a weapon that's small, .380. It's concealable just in case uh something happens as far as a person comes out with a gun. >> All right, right now we're in the cemetery right outside the trailer park where she is at. Well, her car is at uh same trailer park that her parents were at. It's where the case originally started, so do a little bit of surveillance for a while, see what we can do or what we can come up with. And uh as soon as we spot her, we're going to go ahead and take her down and bring her in. >> I've got my trailer targeted. What I'm trying to do now is watch the deck off the back of the trailer. But, I'm trying to get in good position where I can put the tripod up so I don't have to continually move the scope. >> You think that's her getting in that vehicle right now? >> Okay, Jay. I'm going to go out like I'm going towards the jail. She's heading up that way. You got to step on it a little bit, Jay. >> Yeah. >> You're not going to catch her. You're going to have to speed it on up in there. Make a left up here. There she is right there. There she is right there. >> Should I come behind her or go >> Yeah. Go right in front of her. I want to get a look. >> Should I just keep going? >> Ask her about the damage here. >> Okay. >> Scotty, you should ask her. >> I'll roll the window. Was that her? >> I don't know. I don't know if that was >> I don't think that was her. Someone else fits the description. Not necessarily her. Cuz she has a sister that favors her. Our new information is that her boyfriend wrecked her Honda and it's totaled, so that's not necessarily going to be there now, but she's still going to be there cuz her only source of transportation is gone. >> Once we gain access to the house, uh I'll go ahead and conduct a search. While Rick takes one half of the house, I'll take the other half. Um and then once we once we apprehend her, yeah, just drive her back to the jail and then >> Hey, how you doing? Is Laura here? >> No, I saw her leave. >> She's not? >> Uh-uh. >> Is she in your trailer right now? >> Uh we were moving out. We still didn't move here. >> You sure she's not in there? >> I'm positive. You can come in if you want to now. >> Yeah, I'd like to check. >> Can I help you? >> Yes, ma'am. Is Laura here? >> No, she's not. She's not. >> She's not? >> No. >> Oh, hold on. Hold on a minute. We're not Where IS YOUR FIREARM? COME ON IN THE BACK. >> [screaming] >> NOW, WE HAVE A RIGHT TO SEARCH THIS HOUSE. We have a right to search this house. No. You didn't see nothing in there nowhere? Okay. For what? Okay. Check that back shed. You didn't see nobody come out the back area? That's the one sister we haven't met yet. So, what we're going to do now, apparently she's not here. They're moving. I don't know where they're moving to. I know she's in the trailer park, but I don't know what trailer she's in. And that's the big problem right there cuz she can bounce from trailer to trailer. And we can't legally justify hitting three or four trailers one right after the other. And in this trailer park right here, it's advisable and it's wise that we're that we have a police backup. So, I'm going to have a police officer or two standing back in the out in the in the background on this one. I want you to keep your eye on that Mustang, okay? If you get anything going on back there, you call me, okay? Meanwhile, I'm going to coordinate with the police and tell them exactly what's going on. I hadn't had a chance to tell them everything about this yet. See you later. Bye. Sorry about that. Okay, I got >> So, you're not exactly sure which one she's at? >> Well, I know which one her parents live in, okay? And her parents live in the trailer that has the deck on it back there. And that's the one that her sister's at right now. In this instance here, being that we're going to we're probably going to run into some problems, we'd like some you know, some for you to stand by because if something happens and there becomes a confrontation where it gets physical, we want to make sure that you witness that everything we do is proper. >> And the female subject that apparently is in the trailer has now gone to the police station to make a complaint about uh Rick and um they got an idea on her, so we're going to go over there with the policeman and they're going to serve the warrant on her. >> Will you let me finish what I'm doing? Get the hell out of there, man. >> This one didn't exactly go down the way we wanted it. >> I don't need to get away from you. Get away from me. I'm getting in this elevator. >> You can't kick her. I can do anything I want, actually. >> No, you can't. >> Oh, yeah, I can. >> Oh, no, you can't. >> Oh, yeah, I can. >> I'm not one of them. I'm not one of them. I'm telling you. >> They went They messed up my house today with the cameras on. >> I'm not one of them. I'm not one of them. I'm telling you. I don't want them to get the hell away from me. >> Why don't you guys just take care of the business that you guys have? >> We're taking care of it. >> I want them to get the hell out of here. >> I have every bit as much right to be here. >> Well, good. You didn't have that much right doing it in my [ __ ] house. >> We applied so much pressure and so much heat in the areas that it needed to be applied in that she felt like she had no other alternative except to turn herself in. I'm proud of the fact that we did get her off the streets and uh you know, it was a it was a good job all together. Nobody got hurt and everything was done professionally.
