Hey, good morning. Good morning. If you're in the replay game, I will have a time stamp. Sorry, my printer is going off in the background. I will have a timestamp where you can skip me waiting for YouTube to notify everyone and allow people time to come in. So, you don't have to sit here and wait for that if you're replay gang gang. To my people that are in the live, hey, my printer is going to do this for the next couple minutes. It's ridiculous. But, hey Jazzy Jay, Sharon, God bold. Hey everyone that is about to come in, that is coming in, that is here. I'm just going to give it just a little bit. Not too long. I won't make y'all wait too long. Give me time to, you know, I got my notes. I should have put this in my um popup girl notebook. Okay, so let me go ahead and get started. And of course, y'all can replay. Hey, Corvette girl. Hey, Jacqueline. Okay. So, I I don't plan to keep y'all long on this topic, but I do feel like if something comes up, if I'm either talking to friends or if something comes up with me, it's usually cool to share it with y'all. So, first, I'm going to jump right into a good a really good tip and and a demonstration to show y'all. Then, I'll have some other tips to follow. But, let me go ahead and give you something tangible right now. Um, so sometimes if you don't want to immediately try something new with your existing audience or you um don't want to start a new account, but you you want to do something new, but you're like scared to put it out there to the people that already know you. I'm there. Instagram has a feature and it's called trial reels and you might have seen it. It might have asked you, did you want to do a trial reel? But maybe you didn't see the value in doing that. And I will tell you one of the things is that sometimes your audience can get really used your audience and the algorithm you've built can get really used to the content that you've already done or you've never done content before but you're again you're not trying to start a new channel but you need something new out there to even see how would it track with people that have never seen you before. So on Instagram with the trial reels and shout out to Malcolm he u for his award. He's who popped up when I open my Instagram to screen record. But I'm showing y'all in real time that I posted a trial reel this morning. And what it allows me to do is the trial reel will not go it purposefully does not go to your existing audience. It only goes to brand new people that are not following you. So that that is actually a really good benefit and I'm like this is so cool. Now, if you don't want to do this, I will say the other friendly version is Tik Tok. Tik Tok. Tik Tok shows stuff at random so much. No one's going to just really see your whole chronological feed anyway. So, you also can do this with Tik Tok and it's tech technically Tik Tok is a whole test and trial to me. But if you want to purposely do it and you're purposely not trying to get it to your followers, trial res is how you do it. So, I'm going to hit play cuz this is already screen recorded. Um, okay. So, this is me. I'm about to post a trial reel. So, I went to my profile and they just changed the layout of Instagram the last couple days for me and it's I don't like it, but here we are. Um, so you have to hit the plus sign in the top left for me at least right now cuz they moved the button. So, you do that just like you're about to post a normal real or whatever you're going to do. And then, of course, you're going to select real for me cuz I'm doing a real. Then I'm choosing my um I'm choosing my media and this is the one I wanted to choose because it's the newer one. And I didn't want to put this out on my Instagram feed. For me, I didn't want to put it out yet because I don't want to post back to back to back on Instagram. But I still want to see how these would do. But um but for a shy person, a shy a shy person that has not actually become a content creator, it's almost like this is how you can do it without letting like say you only have family and friends following you right now or whatever it is you haven't gotten that thing to to switch up yet and be like, "Okay, I want I actually want to do this content creation thing." Um this is a great way. So again, so I'm about to post or I'm about to select this media. >> So I have some bittersweet news on this one. while delivering mail in >> doing the normal things. You know, you put your caption on there, you would choose your hashtags, whatever you're gonna do. Um, quick tip, don't lean too much on hashtags. They hashtags are not what are helping the platforms make that much money. So, you don't have to be too crazy about hashtags or too obsessive about hashtags. Just a just a quick tip. You don't have to. You can always try them out, but it's not um and I took off that trending at some point hashtags. I was like, "Oh, yeah, duh. This is not for my regular audience at this time. Okay. So then down here under you got tag people, add location, rename audio, add an AI label audience, and then there's this one with a dotted line that says trial. That's what you want to turn on. So I'm going to turn mine on. And then it ask me, am I sure I want the real to be a trial? I do. So I k I um tapped keep as trial. Okay. Okay. And then it tells you in feed and reels, your reel will only be shown to nonfollowers at first and won't appear on your profile. If it performs well, and this is my setting, it will automatically be shared to everyone. You can change that in your trial settings and say, don't just let me manually add it if it does well. I don't need you to automatically add it for me. So, you know, it will don't be scared. You don't it doesn't have to automatically go to your feed. Even if it does well, you might still not want it to be there like that. So, then I did that. Selected that. made sure my my thumbnail was what I wanted it. And then I hit share like normal. And so I should be hitting share. Okay, I'm hitting share now. And then hopefully this Hold on, let me mute this thing cuz I don't know if that sound is copyright or not. So of course it's loading up and going into nonfollowers feed. So this showing that it it did post but not to my stuff, not to my audience. So you can see it's not in my profile feed. that's it's not going to be there unless I choose for it to be there. And then I I'm showing you where you can go see your trial reels, which right now you hit the real icon and then there's a to the left where you would have drafts. There's also trial reels in the top left. So that's in the top left of your videos. So that's what you would tap and then it shows all the current reels that I have on trial that are going to my nonfollowers. And that will um so that will help y'all if you don't that's one thing I just want to show that to you like you're like I'm kind of ready to dip my toe in but I don't actually want to I don't want to put myself out there to people that know me yet. So if that's you that's one way I have other tips and if you're just coming in I will ask that if you would like to support my channel of course I always have my art on my website and as a great way to support. So, I definitely appreciate y'all. And hey, hey, Red and Trending. Hey y'all. Okay, so these other ones I'm about to just uh almost rapid fire. So, um I can probably list these in my description box. If someone's like, "Hey, I heard you mention one or a few that I liked. Can you please share them in writing?" I'll probably put it in my description box to help y'all out. But, let me just give you some other ways because this is a real struggle. like this. This is when you're procrastinating on creating your content, it's probably because something has made you scared or intimidated you or seem too difficult to start. So, here's a few things. So, you can start with, of course, the faceless format. You can do voiceovers, screen recording, slideshows. Um, you can demo a product. Um, you can do storytelling over footage. And you don't have to be on camera. You can do your soft presence, which is you can just show your hands in there. Over the shoulder angles if you want to get a little creative. Um, you can do POV shots where it's like as if that person has your eyes and they're seeing what you see, but they don't see you so much. Um, and then you can until you're comfortable. If you ever do want to ease into face content, you can batch, this is one for me, you can batch record on your good days, your good confidence days, because I was just saying on Tik Tok, shout out to Milichan. Okay, let me say what I said on Tik Tok. Then let me let y'all know I'm shout out to Milich on Tik Tok. I was just saying I keep seeing these creators that are so engaging. They they have this um personality. The way that they present information is just top tier and it makes you not want to do it. And we've talked about this on YouTube before. Just because we've talked about it doesn't mean it hasn't it's ended for me. So I'm sorry if this is repetitive, but Miller Chun and others like God's Child commenting under there. Um, but Miller Chun was like, "I actually like your voice." She said, "If you know if you can understand what I mean." She was like, "Your voice is a little bit like ASMR for me." And because I said I'm so monotone and I just feel like I should be more animated sometimes or like I don't know like I don't know and I I get in my head about it but Milan was like if this makes sense you're my ASMR and and y'all that just put me where I I was like okay you every time you sit there and criticize yourself about sounding monotone you got to remember somebody out there at least Millichun hears your voice as a ASMR type vibe instead of you just not emoting or not having any, you know, any feeling in your voice or whatever. So, I do use that to boost I am using that to boost my confidence cuz she had commented that yesterday and I really appreciated that. Um, and I appreciated the other encouragement as well. Um, so on your good confidence days, batch produce, batch record. Doesn't mean you have to batch post, but batch record on the days you're like, I can do this today. I feel like I can do this today. I want to do something new. Today I have this great idea and it feels so good to just try this. Do your things on those days. And don't beat yourself up on the days you don't want to to create or record or post. But on the days you don't want to, you'll already be have something from your batch days. And then sometimes there'll be a little bit of a break and that's okay as well. Another one is go ahead and script out your short talking points. Like y'all know I say I'm looking at my notes. I always tell y'all that I'm looking at my notes right now. Um, instead of doing uh word for word lines, bullets will help you sound more natural and it'll reduce the pressure of you being perfect. You can also record practice videos you never even plan to post. They help you get your nerves out and they make being on camera feel a little bit more normal. Um, if you're also you can use text overlays to do all the talking. Don't forget, first of all, you'll have people that are um hearing or hearing impaired, but they're there for the text and captions. So, you are already reaching an audience that wasn't going to hear your voice anyway. Plus, a lot of us, they say a lot of people when they're watching your content, they have to kind of have it on silent because, you know, for whatever reason, they're in a place where um they can't have their earbuds in or they have something else going on and they can but they can still watch your video. So, the captions and the text overlays give context and help them know what's going on without them having to turn their volume up for whatever reason it is. Um, apparently there's like a high percentage of people that don't actually turn the volume up to hear you speaking anyway. Um, you can also start with commentary instead of personal stories. So, you don't have to go into something that tell is telling your business. You can comment on things that you already would have been talking to your friends about anyway. That's one of the most natural things. Some like now this is one of the times that I have had a conversation with a friend about how they don't want they didn't want to get straight on the camera but they have a business and they do want to start putting their business out their small business out there. And so we brainstormed some ways they could do that and still feel comfortable. And I'm like you don't and it's so funny. I can tell somebody else the same thing someone's going to tell me, but then I try to tell myself and I have to get I have to get uh boosted by outside people because my thoughts take over. But um you don't have to be like anybody else. Your content does need to look like anybody else. You just h people do come to you for your personality, your uniqueness. Someone else cannot produce exactly what you produced. And the same goes the other way around. You cannot ever be exactly like some a person that somebody already, you know, likes and it's going to look weird if you try. Um, let editing be your safety net on my uploaded videos. You're rarely going to hear the ums that I'm giving you right now on live. I edit those babies out. My long pauses, I edit those out. If I had more time, I'd probably have more uploaded videos because I can get those things out of there and get away from my filler words and everything. So, pre-record, edit, and editing takes a little more time and care. But if you've already been waiting this long, you might as well see what you can do with that side, too. And, you know, it's never too late. I'm somebody that's thinking about becoming a part-time law student, and it might not happen until, cuz right now, I'm early 40s. I might not actually be sitting in a classroom or however it happens until mid4s or early 50s or it could be, you know, next year. I don't know. But what I'm saying is we I've seen 70 year olds, 80 year olds, I've seen them graduate and they look so proud of themselves. Their family's proud of them. It's just never too late. So don't beat yourself up and never start because you think it's uh too late. I also saw um people always, not people, not a lot of people, but sometimes people that are already in a um area of interest, they'll sometimes try to be like, "Oh, this is oversaturated, but your voice hasn't been heard." And there's an audience that will probably want to hear how you say it and what your thoughts are versus someone else's. Sometimes even just your accent. Shout out to Lala. She has great thoughts and individual thoughts, but I'm just saying LA's accent alone. I'm going to probably tune in even if she just is re reading. I don't know whatever saying exactly what somebody else said. I want to hear from LA though because I like her accent. So, and we all have, you know, I got my little bit of a sudden draw and everything, but you are you. And therefore, in my opinion, most things, and I mean most most things are not oversaturated because you're you, no one has said it like you yet. So, keep that in mind. Uh, let me see here. Um, okay. If you're going to decide to be on camera, but you're just a little self-conscious. Now, don't get um a complex off of this, but there are very light filters that can be used like they like as if you put on light makeup or uh there's now like a clear skin filter on TikTok and stuff like that. You can record with those in case you're like, I am not about to put on makeup, but I also don't want to come on plain face or I've got this thing that's just causing me to be insecure and now I don't want to do it at all. You can use a super light filter, not one that totally transforms your face. So, you know, you don't like you don't get a complex or anything. And you can record, especially on Tik Tok, and then just down and then just uh post only to you. So, then it'll automatically download to your phone. Then you can post it on other platforms. But Tik Tok to me for right now has some of the best filters. I don't I don't know if Capka has filters or not, but Tik Tok has the best filters for sure right now in my opinion that are free. in case that's one of the things that's making you procrastinate. Um, people on Tik Tok come on so authentically themselves and they do well on Tik Tok that that you really don't have to be self-conscious about it on Tik Tok per se. But again, if that's holding you back, that's an option. Also, just some good lighting. I was showing my members the little light attachment I got for my phone. Think about Fedra. I'm pretty sure a lot of people have seen what Fedra attaches to her phone for her light. That's what I finally got from Amazon and this helped a lot because uh my my room my light in my room causes a overhead. It causes a shadow because it's over my head. So then with my eyes being uh bigger and they are they're not I don't think they be deep set. I think they poke out maybe. I have big eyes, so it causes a shadow where you would normally get under eye shadows, like if you actually hadn't slept well and stuff. So, the light kind of helps me with that. I'm still playing around with it, but it helped me get, you know, just one more thing to feel comfortable. Um, try voice to text or voice memos if you want to play around with your tone or hear back how you, you know. Now, here's the thing. You're probably not gonna like your voice half the time, but other people apparently like your voice because that's the feedback I get. So, don't feed into that too much, but you can play around with your tone if you want to. Um, talking without a camera sometimes helps shy creators find their own rhythm. So, you can do no camera, just voice, and hear how that goes. Create a comfort ritual before you film. Whether that's taking a short walk, you got your little music going, you got some kind of affirmation that hypes you up. I'm going to lean on some of the feedback I've gotten before. That's for my for me to get past that mental barrier of I'm not like such and such. So, whatever you need to do to get yourself in that zone. Um, I also go searching on TikTok for people that encourage content creators. They'll be like, "If you don't if you don't get up there and post your stuff and blah blah blah," like that kind of stuff. That helps me too. Um, lean on your niche, especially at first. And maybe, you know, if you really end up being that being the only thing you like, stay in your niche as well, but lean on your niche when you start out. There's probably some area of interest that you like talking about and you're more confident in talking about because that's your thing. And that could be, I mean, it could be anything. is whatever you're probably tuning into a lot of because you do have your own thoughts. So then you want to see if your favorite content creators uh what are they thinking about it? See if you're on the same page. That's a really good indicator. Um also uh what are you talking about with your friends and family on a regular basis? Like you you meet up to talk about this. I think that's why a lot of content creators started out reviewing one of their favorite shows. So that's why you have a lot of uh housewives of Atlanta or Bravo type reviewers and stuff because that's what happened anyway. It's like I'm already talking to someone about this and I'm already debating about my reason of why this, this, and this. I mean, one right now, if you want to come out the gate, a hot topic would be Candy and Todd getting divorced. If that's something you've been following and you've had some strong opinions on, um, that would be a great one to start with. It doesn't have to be pop culture, but it's just a timely one that I'm thinking of right now. Um, that would be great cuz you probably had opinions in your and and I would say picture like you're you're still talking to that friend or whoever you regularly talk to. Try to picture as if that's who you're talking to when you're doing when you're talking either to the camera or just doing your voice only. Picture them because then you will naturally sound more conversational. It may not be 100% proof because you you're you consciously know I'm I'm recording so other people will hear this. It's not just going to be my friend, but if you can try, it does help. Like right now, as I'm talking to y'all, I picture different friendly faces from the trendy tribe um that I'm talking to because they've already given me a safe space to voice my thoughts. So, yeah. Like, and I see Professor Purple Queen in here. I see y'all. Hey, everybody. Um, Professor Purple Queen said, "Hold on, I can actually highlight this. I forgot I'm actually in control of this." She said, "I was immediately drawn to your page for content delivery and your giggles. Your delivery is refreshing." Thank you, Professor Purple. That's what I'm saying. This is the kind of stuff that I have to keep in my memory bank to not let the negative thoughts win because when I tell you there are some talented people on every platform which you know that's how that's how you end up following people and stuff. So thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. I I so appreciate that. Um let's see. Of course, don't be afraid to change. Your niches may change. Um, even if you start your channel on something or whatever, when I say channel, I mean your account, whatever platform you're doing, it doesn't matter. Don't feel beholden to stay there either. It's if as long as you don't pigeon hole yourself, and even if you do, you can say, "Guys, I'm sorry. I came out strong and I said I'm only gonna talk about this and I'm never gonna talk about this. I was wrong." Like, just be honest. be a real person and don't don't um I would say the biggest okay two things don't berate your audience that's there to support you engage with that audience that is there to support you actually told Mr. trending this the other day uh or yesterday. He asked me to look at um some of his stuff and I gave him feedback and I said, "Now, why aren't you responding to your comments?" That for sure it should be something that he's doing. I was and I and I just did it. I didn't do it like that. I'm being funny now, but that's not how I told him cuz I need him to actually do it. But people, so if a 100 people watch your video, 10 people may hit like and then out of those 10 people, one person might comment. So for the person that took that time to comment, try to respond back. Now, I am late on responding, but I I don't not respond. Except here's here's a couple rules I just have in my head. If the comment is a little controversial, I probably just leave it there. Like if it's controversial, but it's not the worst, I leave it there. But I sometimes don't know how to respond. So if I freeze up on those, I just freeze up. But the one that that they were asking him was, "What's your um chest and shoulder routine?" I'm like, "That's such an innocent question that don't ignore those people. Those are the ones that are basically about to probably long-term engage with you and and be with you for the long haul." So I respond to nice, innocent comments. I don't respond all the time to things that I'm just like, I can't tell where this comment's going or, you know, so with so anyway, respond to your comments uh that are that you're comfortable with responding to. Don't take them for granted. If you only have 30 views and one person out of 30 decided to comment and it wasn't, you know, it wasn't anything mean or anything, engage with them so they can come back. Um, thank you, Janetta. Hey, Leia's grandma. Uh, let's see here. So, oh, and then yeah, so here's one of my next points. Viewers connect with authenticity more than perfection. Your imperfections, your awkwardness actually helps people probably stick around more than you being super polished and and everything else. Now, you can be if that's already you and you got it down pat, that is great. You are not discouraged from doing that. But if you're like, "Hey, I'm figuring this out, but I still have an interest while I'm figuring it out." People like that, too. Like they really That's how to me that's the biggest boom on Tik Tok is that people just come on. People seem to be like I said the most themselves on Tik Tok versus all the other platforms. And then also set super tiny goals. Start with a 15 or 30 second clip. You don't have to come in, I got to do a 10 to 15 minute video. No, do something short. Like, you might only have a little short thought for a little bit first. And that's okay. Look at how they're all catering to short videos because everybody wants to be like Tik Tok anyway. Even though Tik Tok is now allowing longer form videos, but YouTube pushing shorts to the point where you have to tell it, "Show fewer shorts. I want to see my long form content." Like, because sometimes it'll have your whole page with just shorts and stuff like that. So um yeah, do short short videos on all the platforms. Reals are just shorts copied from Tik Tok. YouTube shorts are just Tik Toks copied from Tik Tok. Like they're just they're copying what they have seen work. So don't be afraid to do something super short. You might only have one thought about Todd and Candy getting divorced. You might not have a whole dissertation ready to go, but you still have a thought. You still have an opinion. And you can honestly do that like I was talking to my friend about this and this is how they felt about it but this is how I feel about it and keep it conversational like it's that's perfectly okay. Um thank you written good morning who said that. Yeah. So let me see do I have check my other notes. So, with the tips that I gave, you can use this to either reinvent your current content or if you've never done content before, use these to start it. And again, I'm not saying everybody has to be a content creator, but I do see that some people have the desire, but they're afraid to voice. They have the desire to create a little content. Um, and just just do it. Be consistent. And if you are too if you don't have enough yet or you're like look I we just talked about going through batches. Your consistency does not mean post every single day. Your consistency can mean when I do feel confident on those one days out of the um the the the every 3 weeks, one day out of a month. Give yourself that day to batch the content you want to talk about. Split it up. If you have multiple topics at that time that you're that you have, don't put all the topics in one thing. If you know it's going to take you a while before you want to come back, do it topic by topic so you can have something to regularly post. But again, you don't have to have yourself in this hard strict rule of posting every day. That is that I know that's how it kind of came up when people were teaching social media like you have to be super consistent but people want authenticity and quality over the fact that you just you always here. So you know like don't make don't feel pressure that it's like I I'm not doing it often enough. Well, but when you do do it somebody like it and again low views doesn't mean nobody liked it. It means at this time the algorithm didn't push you forward. So, you can't use low views as a uh indicator that your content wasn't good. You have to just like what you're putting out. And you kind of know because you've seen what you like and you know what you swipe on real fast that you don't like. So, just, you know, you have a gauge. So, just think about that as you're posting as well. You have your own gauge. And I think that's it. I again, if you came in a little bit later, if any of this helped you, I would love if you just go take a look at my store, you know, check out my art. Protecting my boundaries is one of my favorite pieces of art right now, but of course, the zodiacs will always hold a special place in my heart. Um, for my body cam people, we will be watching body cams in about 30 minutes or so. So, I will see y'all. But I definitely hope something out of this helped in case you're somebody that you always stay on the fence about if you do or don't want to um produce any kind of content. And you don't have to put a label on it. You know, we call you content creators, but you could just be someone that's sharing their thoughts right now or something. You know, like you don't have to have a label either. But hopefully this helped y'all and I will see some of you soon. Well, I see all of you soon at some point, but I will see some of y'all in about 30 minutes. All right, talk to y'all later. Bye.
