Mhm. Look kids out there. Look family. Okay, so it gets more lively um Hey or Okay, Living Life said but there's one that has the pool in the center of the building around it. So the sun is blocked. I'm trying to enjoy anyway. Aw, last of summer vibes. Nice to hear. Okay, so uh The beach This is the beach behind me. The ocean is like You see the little blue border fence? And then there's like 3 ft. It opens one more door and then it's right there. Like you see the trees and that white that don't look like nothing to y'all probably from here. That's the ocean right now. Like uh so I love it. Hey Living Life, I see you. Hey Janetta. Yeah, so that's the ocean right there. So we went out there earlier if you saw my live from this morning. We were kind of around here somewhere and now there's lot There's a lot more family. So it looks like late morning is better time to uh better time to go than the evening if you're trying to not be in anybody's way. What have I eaten, Janice? I ate mofongo and I was so happy to have it. I've never had mofongo. I went and got it. Oh, and I had quesito which is um Now my coworker said it's basically fried cheesecake and it's so freaking good. But yes, I had mofongo with steak and I had the quesito so far. Hey Sharon. It was It was good. I'm and and So the base of mofongo is a a plantain. I didn't I've never had plantain like not cooked before. I've had it where they do like the dry plantain, eat it like a chip. So, for me, yes, it was good. I was ready to expect a new flavor cuz I didn't know what it would taste like. So, to me, I was yeah. But I I like trying new food, too. So, yeah. And then this, you know, sorry to that person that's behind me, but [clears throat] the parking lot's right here. And then we have to use a key that the Airbnb guest gave us to open up that gate to go to the beach. So, people that are in here, they have to have a remote for the gate for your car. And then they have um a [clears throat] key, a manual key to unlock that to be able to get to the beach from here. So, it's an enclosed space. I don't know how many stories this building is, but this is basically an apartment. And it's just the right size for a vacation. It's especially if you're not planning on staying in the room. Hey, Alf MC. Ah, I finally get to see you live. >> [laughter] >> Thank you for the birthday wishes. Thank you. I almost brought my Dallas t-shirt out here, Alf MC. I ain't bring it though. I almost did. But um we went to I just put in I was like, I just want to go to casual Puerto Rican restaurants. I just want traditional Puerto Rican food, casual places. I don't need nothing crazy. So, that's how I got to try it. And I we will be going It's a 4-hour drive. So, tomorrow we plan on getting up early. We're going to a town called Boquerón. And um What did he tell us to go to Boquerón for? He said it was I know that the beach where the surfers do their like world championships are out there, but it's a different uh Hold on. Can y'all still hear me on the microphone? My alarm went off. Hold on. I got to I want to dismiss it, but now I don't want to interrupt anything. Okay. But anyway, the town's called Boquerón. It is famous for something. I can't remember, but it has a lot of stuff in there. Hey, Somali Queen. How are you? Okay, y'all can hear me. Good, good, good. So, we're going to I want to go where the surfers go, where they do like the world championship competitions. Although, they're not having the competition right now, but people that like to surf are still going to go there. So, I want to go see the surfers. I want to see how big those waves get out there. I did end up stepping into the water as far as I could go before I needed a life jacket. That was fun. Um I'm just here in Puerto Rico, Somali Queen, chilling. Doing a birthday celebration. That's where you said everyone's Yes, yes. So, we're going to see it. I just I don't have my notes and I didn't bring a notebook to just be able to look at it. So, I'm going to go buy a notebook, too. So, now I have to go off memory and we already know tragedy on how that goes. Um we met a couple while we were walking out there. This is their last day of their trip and they are from New York. And then this is my technically my first full day of the trip. Hey, I'm going to say red. Hey, red. Thank you. Um so, we went out there, we were walking. The couple was out there and um I was asking her cuz she was holding a coconut like a what? Is it Yeah, it's a coconut. It's a coconut. I'm I'm I'm so second-guessing myself on everything right now, but it was a coconut. And I was like, "Oh, was there like a street stand or something? Where did you get the coconut?" And she was like, "Oh, no." She was like, "I was over there taking pictures." And then this guy, he was like he's She was like, "I took some pictures of him and then he was like uh he offered me he's got the little machete thing and he just started chop, chop, chopping that thing." And he was like, "You know, you want a coconut?" And I'm like, "Oh, that's so cool. That is so cool." Now, they was a little too friendly because they were also like asking me and Mr. Trenches like, "Do y'all want to Do you want some like to drink out?" And I'm like, "No, we were just curious about where you got it from. Thank you, though." Like you know, we don't want to drink out of your coconut. But, they were very, very friendly. She was a She's a sixth grade teacher and she She was teaching her students about how there was a time apparently that JFK was stranded some kind of way in the ocean. It was a quick story, so I'm not getting details. I wasn't here for a history lesson, so I'm so far sorry for the gaps I'm about to give you. But, they basically were able apparently to send a message in a coconut. Couple of native people uh swam to get them help or whatever, and so they would have been stranded out there with shark-infested waters apparently. Like they're That's the story of a coconut that she tells her sixth-graders. I I have never heard this before, so you know, take it with a grain of salt from me. That's the story she was telling me, so let me know if you've ever heard that about JFK before. Cuz he was She was like, "Yeah, coconut saved his life." My imagination goes everywhere. Like, how in the coconut save his life? But, oh, you put a message in there to send. I could I could see it. Hey Auntie Nattie. Hey Aries 66. Lay's grandma with the wrench. Yes. Hey Gwen. More More like people infested waters, right? [laughter] Right, living life. And so, right now, because my window's open, the people that's in their car probably can't see me right now, which is kind of funny. They're probably like, "What is she doing?" But, the wind sounds so not Well, it's ac- The ocean sounds, not the wind, but the ocean sounds so nice right now, and it's like a little breeze coming through the window. They might be resting right now, but there are pigeons that be flying right here, and they roost right up on top of this window, and I'm like, you know, we're kind of taking chances right now, cuz if they fly in this window, I'm freaking out. I'm freaking out. So, hopefully that doesn't happen. So far, it seems like they just know the barrier. We're trying to live the beach life, so the window's open. So, hopefully the pigeons do not come in here. >> [laughter] >> Yeah, I'm inside. I'm in my bedroom in my Airbnb right now. So, this is a You can kind of see the window frame right here. I'm inside, though. Oh, thank you, Danny. That is so nice. Thank you very much. Um there was someone out here stunning earlier, and I'm like, I don't know if he was on live or what, but he doing the most. He had his girl with him and stuff. And I'm like, you don't have to scream if you're on live cuz I know you're not talking to anybody locally here cuz everybody that's already here, they're they're where you are, so they're not in your business like that. But we could hear him from up here and he was like he said something like, "Y'all just hating." or something. He said, "I'm like, sir, I promise you no one cares. We're all just enjoying ourselves. And if you went live to tell people they're hating, that's weird. You should have just enjoyed yourself and stayed out of um stayed out of here. So, I'm very near San Juan right now, Nathan, cuz I'm in Puerto Rico right now. So, I'm I'm near San Juan. We're like 9 minutes away from the airport. Um there's a town near us. I think it's called I'm going to try to say this. Starts Sarta Thursday? Or Sart Thursday? Possibly. But that's the nearest thing I think we're near. But we're basically we're downtown. We're really, really close. Um I'm going to go to the further places though because Oh, I don't know that language, but I hope it's nice. I see your smiling faces, Danny, so I hope it's a nice thing. This is the name. Um but yeah, we're going to go to the further places now. We want to go to the country. We want to go to Old San Juan. We want to go to the further out towns that um locals have told us about. Downtown is too much. I'm not I would I would go crazy if I was the one driving down here. There's no way I could do it. There's no way. Um so, we've seen downtown. We're going to go to a restaurant called Musa. And then for me, I'm done on the downtown part. We're good to go. I can get We're literally in Puerto Rico. I can get Puerto Rican food anywhere. I don't want to be downtown anymore. I don't want to do with the parking, the squeezed cars together, the people that are in the right lane, but then they turn left in front of you. I can't I can't do it. I'm in their space, so I respect that. I just don't want to have to go through it if I don't have to. So, I'm going to go to the more spaced-out places. But I I I'm hoping to do a sunset tour, walking tour in Old San Juan to learn some history. Um go to their food places and stuff like that. It's like a 2-hour tour if we do it. Then, we talked about the surfing spot. Barrachina. Barrachina is the restaurant or the the location, I'm going to call it a restaurant too, where the person who invented the piña colada, that's where they That's where they were. Apparently, a lot of the time the history gets kind of rewritten that it was near this hotel that the piña colada was made the for for the first time, but that's just because the the guy from Barrachina would set up a stand outside this hotel. And so, they they associate with the hotel, but that's not actually where he invented the the piña colada, so. Oh, and a waitress changed my life today. I'm only ordering a piña colada this way from now on. Well, one I'll taste the authentic one at Barrachina, but after that, I'm not doing this no more. Um but, she was like, "How's your piña colada?" And I was like, "It's it's a little strong." And I'm saying that because I am a lightweight. I don't like the taste of alcohol. I don't. So, I want things to hide the alcohol. So, she was like, uh she was like, "Do you want to try Bailey's in it?" And I was like, "Bailey's?" And she was like, "Mhm." She was like, "It's my favorite, Bailey's." Now, she's saying most of this we're both trying to do our thing. Like, she's practicing her English, I'm practicing my Spanish, but I'm just saying it what it all came out to here, but we were it was it was Spanglish going on with this one. But, it was so fun. I already did her survey, gave her the excelente rating across the board. Her name was Ruby. So, Ruby, we got you. We did your survey, and we tipped well like we're supposed to, all the things. But, she was like, "Yeah, try Bailey's in your um piña colada." She brought that second piña colada with that Bailey's, it was so delicious. She was like, "It's like ice cream, huh?" I was like, "It is like ice cream." And so, now, for the rest of my life that's probably how I'm going to get my pina colada if I don't get it virgin cuz I usually drink it virgin, I will get Bailey's in there. Um see Fausto at Carli's in Old San Juan. He is famous bartender and so good. Oh, hey Aqua Udo, how you doing? Okay, okay. Fausto at Carli's. Okay, and I'm going to rewatch this chat too in case I forget anything. Okay. Fausto at Carli's in Old San Juan. I will try to find him. I Yeah, I'm still in paradise cuz I just got here and this is this is my first full day one here. I don't leave until the 25th. So I'll be here for a few more days. I'm very excited. First trip without having to go to work and I'm in a tropical place. Like I've always only been to tropical places or really nice places like outside, you know, visiting family and stuff. I've always had to be on orders. So this is really nice. I wake up. I owe nobody any labor. I wake up on my own time. I'm moving on my own time. I don't have to wait till the clock hits 4:00 p.m. to try to squeeze some stuff in. I'm actually just here on my own personal time and Oh, this feeling is so nice. Strawberry daiquiri. See, I I taste too much alcohol in strawberry daiquiris living life. I I There's not many alcoholic drinks I do try because it's like you still taste the alcohol. Someone brought up snorkeling. I don't know if I'm going to do snorkeling. But it was brought up. I'll let you know. But we are trying to go see I think we're trying to go see a waterfall. I want to go ATV riding. I'm trying to see if Mr. Trenny's going to do zip lining. I'm not doing zip lining. But they have the one where you can ride the bicycle on those lines real up high. I would do that. I just I I don't I'm not scared of heights. I'm scared of coming down from heights really fast. So no zip lining for me. I learned the hard way. Tried to do a a zip line birthday celebration once and that's how I learned I don't like zip lining at all. I'm not I'm too terrified. Uh Oh oh oh, Santurce. Okay, Santu Oh, I'm sorry. Santurce. Okay, thank you. I Oh, shoot. Sorry for all that vibrating, y'all. Go to El Yunque if you don't mind walking. I don't mind walking. Hopefully all this chat is saving in my lives I can go back and look at these notes. Cuz yeah, I don't mind walking at all. We brought tennis shoes. We are We are here to walk, so I'm ready for it. I don't mind. Um I'm trying to think the piña colada is good and sweet. The See, and for me the original still wasn't sweet enough for me, Leia's grandma. The alcohol came through too strong the first way, the normal way it's made. But that Bailey's I'm good now. You like El Dorado? Is that a drink? Teddy, what's El Dorado? Or is the place? Are we talking about the actual place or a drink called El Dorado? Uh Living Life said, "You know I've had them primarily as virgins, so I can't say too much. I've I'd have them as a kid when we go to the indoor pool resort." Yeah. Yeah. Yep, they still taste good as virgins as an adult as well. Yeah, I I I usually do Shirley Temple when I'm at home or a virgin piña colada. But here I'm like, uh I'll I'll I'll try it. The first time I tried The first time I actually drank a full glass of wine was when we actually got to go to Italy. Shout out to the military again. Didn't travel there for myself. I went there to work, but I did as much as I could while I was out there. Um What else are we doing? Okay. Oh, I I left my seashells she I left my seashells out there. I found two pretty shells, and then we walked by um It was a a young lady, and she she had a nice bag of really pretty she seashells she had found out there. And I was like, okay, so I just need to look a little harder, but it was nice. I told her she had a respectable collection of seashells. Um La Isla fall Okay, so lots of falls and things in El Yunque. Loíza is black Caribbean. Okay. Oh, yeah, I got to start screenshotting. All right. Hey, lovable. How are you? Good to see you. I appreciate y'all being here. Trying to think of anything else. This is why I need my notebook. If you know me long enough, you know without a notebook it's wild out here. Um the Tim Is it Tim Blakey? Tim Blakey is another dessert I want to try. It looks like it's a coconut dessert. I know that much. So, I want to try that. And then I'm good. I'm just going to keep eating the quesito over and over and over because it was delicious. I already like it. I know that's what I'm going to do. Mhm. We went to the store called Is it Supermax? For Those of y'all that have been out here, I think it's called Supermax. It has more stuff than Walmart, which is I'm glad. I'm glad cuz Walmart be taking over too much stuff. But yeah, we went to the Supermax store. I wasn't ready for them not to just have bags to put your stuff in. I get it. Conserve. Don't let Don't have all these plastics out here, but I wasn't prepared for it. I didn't even think about that. So, that was interesting the first time. Main dragon Loíza near airport has lots of restaurants and shops right on water. Nice drive. Okay, if it's a nice drive, I'll go look at Loíza too cuz we are we are so close to the airport. Yeah, oh yeah, we do have a late departure. I think we leave Mhm. I'll check to see if we still have late departure cuz I'm thinking we might arrive late afternoon home. So, there might not be a late departure so much so. Um but yeah. I like all the suggestions. I'll take them. I'm not going back to downtown San Juan, though. I'll tell you that right now. It was It was I was terrified. I'm not good at that stuff. >> [laughter] >> Um but we will continue to get a lot of walking in. It was great walking on that beach. That sand feels so freaking nice. That water is very, very clear. Do Louisa last day. Okay. All right, can do. Or at least I'll look into it to see if I can do for sure. Um I think that's it. I'm trying not to hold y'all up but I I know as soon as I say I think that's it, then the other thing comes to my head. But we are going on excursions. When we do the excursions, if there's a way to possibly go live before or after the excursion, I'll try to check in just to show we're like we're out here trying to stay out this room cuz you know, there's no point in being in your room on vacation. Condado is okay. I've seen that name a few times. Condado, okay. All right. Cool, cool, cool. And Mr. Trenches mostly out here for the breakfast items. So we will be doing uh brunch. Not tomorrow cuz we got to get up and do that 4-hour drive, but maybe the day after tomorrow we'll do that. So yeah, I I think that's it. I think we did good on this one. No need to linger unnecessarily. So I'll just do my little mini check-ins, which I think is the best way to do this. I will do my best to have so much fun. Aquado. But yeah, I'll keep checking in with y'all. Mods, thank you. Thank you. Thank you because vertical live Mhm. Tamarind juice. A tamarind. Okay. I'll Google that too. I'm going to let this thing sit where the chat starts re generating Aquado so I can try to go back and take notes. That's why I need a notebook and paper again, too. Hey CC. All right, lovable. Thank you. All right, I will see y'all soon. All right, bye.
