Let me know if you can hear me okay. First thing I'll say, just so uh you know, if you don't want to hang around, I will be talking. Trigger warning, trigger warning, trigger warning um for the images that may be shown. Also, just the topic that's discussed. Some people It's just depends on the topic, depending on what has happened would trigger some and not others cuz that's not the thing that kind of gets them. So, just be careful. Um I changed the title of the video so you can know exactly kind of what happened on this one. And we're going to get started and I was like, this this man's a piece of work. I don't know what I expected, but this was crazy. Like I I I obviously expected the crime. I did not expect the attitude about the crime, I guess. But, we're going to go ahead and get started. I do pause and talk, you know, um but the link to the original video is already in the description box. So, you do not have to listen to me. All right, let's go. >> Caller, what's your emergency? I was staring at the blood and I don't want to scream and say that our daughter ran to the doorbell. I was screaming I need help. I need help. Took me a second to realize what was going on and we slowly opened the door and the person's gone. So, I had to do a free and vacant home here in the else car street. Is that you now? All doors empty. Oh, there's a whole bunch of blood outside. We need immediate assistance now. Someone needs to leave the house. >> Yes, that's what I was doing. 100% sure. Close. >> Okay, so you don't want the doors empty. >> As authorities rushed to the scene, the first officer arrives to find a male covered in blood getting into a car. Despite officers giving commands, the male drives off leading to a pursuit captured on silent dash cam. >> So, I rolled up and he was down in the park covered in blood. Held the man. >> Within minutes, the suspect drives into the opposite lanes of traffic. >> Vehicle going to be wrong way now. Wrong way northbound lane. Southbound lane. 10-18 you want to start air one. 10-64. Northbound we're going to get air one. 10-66 >> Soon after, other officers arrive to deal with the crime scene. >> Aw. >> We have a lengthy blood trail going to several houses. >> I'm continuing the search, but there's a very large amount of blood trail that was Did you see which way the person went? Do you know if it's a male or female? >> There's a footprint over there. >> Yeah, I see that. Well, they went to the neighbor's house and everything. There's blood all over their door and everything. >> Well, that's my daughter's car. This should be a black car parked down in the swale. >> Okay. That was his kids car. >> That's the neighbor's kids car? >> Yeah. >> Cuz they're they're chasing a car right now. >> I watched it leave that way. >> And they're taking their time to take my car right now. There's a car not stopping cuz someone's covered in blood. There was a male. >> I mean, he's a little dude. >> Let me go check with I'm going to check with that neighbor cuz there's blood all over that front door. So, I'll be back with you guys in a minute. 10-14 the caller was unsure if this was a male or a female that was bleeding. Drake. Come here. I can't get a hold of >> 10-14 possible 10-13. We got a large amount of blood at the front door. >> Yeah. Well, this is this isn't the call The caller's that one. They got blood, but this one when I was walking it led straight to this. But, there's no one answering. >> Let me go check this house over here, Alex. >> Yeah. >> 10-14 10-13 10-14 10-13 Did you check this one? >> What's that? That one has nothing. >> All right. >> It just It And you can you can follow it. It goes I'm not getting any answers, so I'm not really saying over this one. >> The text on the screen says, "Officer goes around house to check inside the windows." >> What do you think it's in or out? That kind of looks out. >> It's hard to tell. It It looks like they were at the cuz if you look, there's there's blood on the door handle. So, I'm over there trying the door handle or what, but The neighbor that called said that there's usually a black car parked in this swale. So, what I don't like is >> black car here. >> black car they're chasing that. >> 10-14 >> We have a dog barking. So, that's And it goes straight from here. They're leaving. And there's none. So basically I followed the blood trail from there. It comes here. It almost seems like they left out here and walked right over there and then jumped in the car. So the car was parked over there. No, uh Ray said it was parked two houses to the east which is going to be right here. It was parked here. And they said it's you a uh there's a younger male that lives here in a black with a black car. Do you know about who lives here? We don't. The footprints aren't going to answer There's a dog. I haven't checked yet because there's blood on the door handle. But uh actually I'll switch to the other gloves. All the footprints lead out. There's none that are going in. It would go straight through the yard out to the road and then goes right to that All right. I I agree. That's why I'm going to throw some actual gloves on. Is it? >> Yep. >> Messina's Messina's in the back. He's covering rear. 66 so let's bring this out to the scene. North Port Police Department. >> Officers discover a brutal scene. 49-year-old Robbie Tower and 51-year-old Jennifer Tower lay inside having been stabbed to death. Blood covers multiple rooms and near the kitchen sink diluted blood and a stained towel suggests the killer tried to wash up before fleeing the scene. The vehicle pursuit ended soon after when officers successfully deployed stop sticks. However, the suspect is able to bolt from the car before jumping a fence to escape officers on foot. >> If you want to keep securing the back cuz we're going to have to put this as a crime scene. They're right inside basically right inside the front door. Right in the living room. >> All right. Before I keep playing, muted expressions, how are you doing? Thank you very much for the super chat and I was thinking the next super chat I get I know what I'm going to say I'm I'm using it for. And this might be shallow for some but this is honestly what it's going for is I have to get ready for my work trip. So, and there's a lot of open-toed shoes that they're being worn there. So, I'm going to get my pedicure done. So, thank you very much muted expressions. I definitely appreciate it. Um it's good to see you. Thank y'all that are all here and those that are coming in and those will be in the replay gang gang. >> So, here you can it's all here. It's on this side. Follow it. It comes right out here and it follows all the way right over to the Okay. The other this house it skips and goes to them. Okay, sounds good. >> Text on the screen says officer appears to observe something off on the neighbor's phone. It's unclear what. I'm wondering if it's like ring cam footage or something, but I don't know cuz they never do say. >> Let me go talk to the sergeant and let him know. >> Hello. >> I'm sergeant Taylor. I'm the supervisor. Okay. Um we have detectives coming out and they're going to want to talk to you. >> Who was the people that were the ones that really wanted to talk to >> Okay. >> We've only been in this house for 10 or 15 minutes. We don't know these people. >> Do you know who was driving that black Chevy? >> His son. >> Okay. >> Yes. >> Do you know my name and everything? Remember his name? >> Kind of shady. >> Like I said, we have detectives coming out and they're going to speak to you. So, if you guys just bear with us. I'm not going to ask you to stay out here in the driveway. Okay. So, she's right here. You got a blood trail by your front door. >> Okay. Yeah. >> You can follow the trail. >> I didn't see the blood yet. I had no idea it was there. They didn't open anything. >> Yeah, if you guys want to go inside your house, you can go in there. Wait in there if you need anything. They'll just have you knock on the door. They'll knock on the door and that. Yeah, just just make sure no one Yeah, make sure no one goes over on that side. >> Got it. >> Appreciate it. Hey Adam, we have blood trail all over here, too. No. All the way here. >> All right. Let's see if there's anybody there and then we'll check the back. >> Yeah. >> That house That's That's our car. That has to make it. >> Oh, okay. >> The other three right here are the only He's out of town. There's no one at your house? >> There's no one at that house? >> Okay. His son is at the house. >> Hello. >> Hi, how are you doing? >> Uh I'm all right. >> I'm Officer Weaver. I don't know if Did uh your dad or anyone call you? >> No, I I was just texting my parents now cuz I >> Okay, the neighbor The neighbor's on the phone, I think, with him because we were just canvassing the area because of a disturbance that happened. Did you happen to hear anything? Like >> No, sorry. I was video games headphones. >> Oh, okay. Um do you happen to know the people that live across at all? >> Uh no, Rob and I think Jenna. >> Okay. Um would that be like Did you know his son? >> Uh I have seen him, but I haven't actually talked to him. I don't know. >> Okay. >> Police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Dima Tower, who was adopted from Ukraine as a teen by his now-deceased adoptive parents. His identity was determined via witness statements in addition to his driver's license and title inside the abandoned vehicle. Inside the home, officers found more evidence. A knife within a butcher's block by the kitchen sink had traces of blood on it. A second knife was recovered from the parents' bedroom, discovered by the nightstand displaying their wedding portrait. With no suspect in custody, police released Dima's information to the public. Hours later, he was spotted about 3 mi away from his abandoned vehicle at a Shell gas station purchasing tea with cash. The clerk later testified she noticed his bloody hands and overall dirty appearance. Officers arrived within minutes and his arrest was caught on surveillance video. He reportedly did not resist officers during his apprehension. He was quickly brought to a cruiser to be searched before being transported to jail. >> Just verify individuals in custody, correct? >> Yeah, I think I'm just going to poke you stickly. Knife, guns, anything like that on you? >> Okay, and this is for when I narrate like this. This is for people that can't look at their screen. They're possibly visually impaired. So, if I'm saying the obvious to you, it's not for you. But, um so they're at the convenience store where they got him, him being Dima Tower, the adopted son originally from the Ukraine of Robbie Tower and Jen Tower. Um so, they adopted him as a teenager. Um so, they're out there. They're going to get I think some pictures of him out there and this is just more, I guess, for us to look at his demeanor and everything right now cuz there's not too much said about from him on this part, but this is just so you can see the I think this is the dash cam showing this part. >> No drugs? >> No. >> What's your name? >> That's the same thing they just asked. >> Yeah. >> And your name, Dima? >> Yeah, my name is Dima. >> Responding unit, if you can slow it down. >> How you doing? >> Can you take that up? >> Yeah, I'm going to mention that. >> Well, I don't know if you >> What's your name? >> Dima. Dima. >> 20 ft apart. >> 20 ft. >> You guys need a bag or something for his stuff? >> Yeah. >> Look at me. >> Yeah. >> [clears throat] >> We got to take a picture of you. Hey. >> Um Right. >> Take the force >> Just roll down his window. >> He said he saw my bag. >> Dude, I was really walking outside to call Brooks. And this guy comes He goes, "That guy you guys are looking for, he's on foot." >> He's fine. Yeah, I don't think he's going to He's not going to the hospital, right, Gabe? >> No. I think start with saying I got a video. >> Good job, man. Good job. >> I need to get a picture of him for our safety. Get him back in the back of the TV and then get him back to the TV right here quick as you can. >> Hey, Gabe. One more picture. Come on. >> Come on. >> Cuz he needs it. >> [snorts] >> Come on. I'm going to take a picture. Let me see your phone. >> Stand right here. >> Everybody just kind of push your on the ground. deal. Just get get out. Look at me. Yeah, that's you. Oh, absolutely. Okay, we're going to have to take you back to the PD and get you back to the PD as well. >> What up? He's just walking out here? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, he was just walking behind the shed behind the shed. >> He was like trying to snatch a car or what? >> No, he was just casually walking and we come out and we see him. >> Did he run though? >> No, but he was I had a gun on him the second I saw him. >> Good job, dude. >> Okay, for me, cuz this was sent to me. For me, the things that the way he answers these questions in the interrogation room is what made me be like, "Oh, he's a piece of work." So, we'll let this unfold. I will pause sometimes to give a couple of my content my comments, but yeah, just just listen to him. >> Why don't you stand up? I'll take those handcuffs off you. You're not getting away with anything stupid, right? >> No. >> Okay. Have you ever been read your Miranda warning before? Do you know what that is? >> I don't know what that. >> Have you ever seen cop shows in the movies? So, a Miranda warning >> That's how I know how to get away from you real well. >> You have the right to remain silent. Do you understand what that means? >> I do. >> Having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to us? >> It's too complicated. >> I'm sure there's several different reasons why this happened. We just want to hear your side. >> Why? >> Because, you know what? You're a human being. You're not that bad of a kid. Come on. >> Huh? 10. >> You don't want to Well, allow me to get to know you. >> So, me too. >> Are you hungry? >> I'll be because I was actually hungry last night. >> Do you want a sandwich or something? >> That would be nice. >> We'll get you one. I have kids that are around your age also, so I try to treat everybody like I would want somebody to treat my kids. Whatever happened last night >> [laughter] >> It's all right to talk about it. >> I'm not going to talk about it. >> You don't want to give your side of the story? >> It was wrong. That's it. >> Here, in a minute, do you want to eat or do you want to It's like a breakfast sandwich. I promise you you'll feel a lot better to talk about it. >> You're just a bunch of Americans. You won't understand. >> I know you're from the Ukraine, right? >> All right, that's that's where it starts. Now, um I'm not Well, no, I'm not going to go there. But, that's where it started. The first comment was, "You're just a bunch of Americans. You won't understand." And I'll tell you what, still by the end of this, I'll fight. I still don't understand why he did what he did. I do not. So, I guess you're right about that. But, that's that's where it starts and that's where it's going to continue. >> I know the war is devastating over there. >> Why does it matter? >> I'm just making conversation. That's it. So, did you not get along with your parents? >> Talking about it doesn't make me feel better. And there's strangers. They don't I mean, in your family, but where I come from, it's not that easy. You should see them. >> You should have stayed in the Ukraine. >> This country is full. >> So, what don't you like about this country? >> Every American asks me that. You won't understand. >> Well, probably because I was born here. So, I mean >> Yeah, but well, you've been fooled and you don't know nothing about what's wrong with this country. >> Did you know your neighbors down the street? >> Why do you give a [ __ ] about neighbors? >> You used to go over there and he uses tools or something? Working on your car? >> Yeah, but it doesn't mean I don't care about neighbors, though. I'm just using them. >> Is that what you did last night? You used your parents? >> No. >> You said you used people. >> Yeah, because that does not document the good people around us. I don't care. >> Is it something that set you off? Were you protecting yourself? >> I'm pretty sure you know that. >> Help me understand what happened last night. >> Rage. >> Rage has to come from somewhere. Some, you know, there has to be some reason. It's a lot of rage to keep bottled up? >> We've been through so much [ __ ] We've been arguing and >> About what? >> Family issues. >> A background check showed this wasn't Dima's first run-in with police. Reports say his adoptive parents called authorities several times between 2018 and 2020 over alleged assaults, one reportedly leaving Robbie with a black eye. They also reported him missing more than once, and each time officers found him. In another incident, someone called 911 after spotting Dima near an elementary school with a BB gun, later revealed to be a gift from his adoptive mother. He told officers he only planned to shoot toy army men, which he had in his pocket, and he was released. At one point, Robbie asked officers to Baker Act Dima, Florida's law allowing a 72-hour psychiatric hold during a mental health crisis, but authorities said his behavior didn't meet the criteria, and no detention was made. His Florida criminal record shows charges for battery and obstructing justice by threatening an informant. The witness statement, presumably written by Dima's adoptive father, details Dima punching with closed fists and attempting to knock the phone out of his adoptive father's hand while he called 911. Those charges were later dropped. After that, his adoptive parents reportedly sent Dima to live with relatives in West Virginia for a time. Relatives say Robbie insisted Dima return to Florida, having forgiven him, and wanting to help him start over once again. Robbie and Jessica gave him a bank card and purchased him a vehicle, the same vehicle he used to escape custody for their murder. >> Why did you move back? >> Okay. So, the the things before I heard the whole thing when I watched the video, I immediately was like, "Okay, he he is ungrateful." Because even just the small statement of they were saying, "So, you know the neighbors a little bit or whatever." And he's like, "I don't know them. I don't know anything about them." They're like, "Well, you went and bought tools from them sometime." He's like, "Yeah, but that doesn't mean anything. I just use people." I was like, "Okay. I see the mindset already coming." I was like, "Okay, so there's that." Then, I feel horrible for the parents, the adoptive parents, and the adoptive parents' families. There were a lot of signs he would should not have been allowed back in that house, especially not for you to be sleeping peacefully with someone that's hitting you with closed fists. You've had to report several us alleged assaults between two years, 2018 and to to 2020. Um It got so bad you sent him to relatives in West Virginia. And then Um the adoptive dad asked for him to come back to Florida cuz he forgave him. I'm like I wouldn't say put it off on the relatives, but Mhm. You you going back to you you can't be here. Like they tried I feel like they did their best on what they thought was trying to help someone that is currently in a country that has, you know, active war going on. Like, you know, things are being blown up. It's it's it's stuff countries being invaded and they try to help this teen and bring them over here to, you know, to a place that's I'm going to say relatively safer and this He's going to say something that I believe about how his childhood developed who he is now. I believe that, but it just is It makes it hard for older kids to be adopted because you see stories like these. Um I don't know. It's Oh, man, just just keep watching him though. He is definitely troubled. >> Down there? Cuz weren't you living in West Virginia? >> Because I should have known it's campus country. >> What do you do for work or hobbies and stuff? >> Hobbies? I don't find other young men like people who want to be friends and want to do stuff. I don't know. >> Take your time. We're in no rush. >> Yeah, sure you're not. I might be a lot tougher than somebody like >> I don't know. That's not up to us, but it also depends on what your side of story is. >> Right now all I have is what I can see. >> I don't understand you. Most people I talked to do. I understand that. >> Well, why don't you try us out? >> What I want to know is how did you find me? >> I think it was just out of luck, but you evaded us for many hours. So, you're pretty good at what you were doing. Did they scratch you in the fight? I know you have a lot of scratches and stuff like that. >> These are all from running away from police because I had to crawl through >> Yeah. >> two Germans, two few canals, too. Came across many fences. >> The barbed wire? >> Yeah. I mean, doesn't stop me. >> It's either your side of the story or we just go with what the scene says. What it looks like is a monster went in there to, you know, helpless people. I don't think you're that person. I mean, I've only been talking to you for whatever, 20 minutes. I think that there's a lot more to it. >> There is. >> What? >> What is it against? >> Maybe you can tell me how really bad you are. >> What does that have to do with what I have done and I've been through and the injuries and stuff? >> You see this scene from what happened. Like, why do you have to come in here and ask me about it? If you give your side of the story, maybe people will go, you know, I can understand that. >> How does that help people feel for me? >> But if you Well, you may later on. My grandfather was from Poland. Came over here. He's long gone, but he saw a lot of things. So, I would like to understand a little bit more about you, maybe what you saw and what you did. I can relate because my grandfather was over there. >> In today's United States, there's not much to like about. I think 40s was [clears throat] good. >> Right here. This is I stared in black when he said back in the 40s it was good in the United States. But today there's nothing to like about the United States. I said, I was What you mean by that? And I didn't I didn't know cuz ain't nothing too much different. But what's different? And if you know, you know. I'm like, boy. I checked out before this part, but I was like, all right. See where where where I'm at. No, I have nothing but we're just going to watch this cuz it was sent to me. Like, whatever. Um, back in the 40s it was good. All right. Uh, thank you for the super chat, Teresa, for the petty collection. I like this. >> [laughter] >> For the petty collection. Thank you. I'm going to going to go with probably another little soft pink or whatever. >> Look at the world around today. >> Well, I understand. I don't see the same America that I grew up in, but I also when everybody came in and and basically tortured his family, the Germans, the SS, all that stuff, he had to run. Luckily, he did cuz I wouldn't be here. So >> Yeah, I want to I want to go back to Ukraine. >> Did you say to your parents that you were going to go back to Ukraine and did they put up a fight with you or something? >> No, it's my own personal I want to go back to Ukraine because I'm sick and tired of this whole nation putting on a show. In America, yeah, you get whatever you want. Life's easy, but I don't see it like that. >> How do you see it? >> I'm basically a nobody come from nowhere. My adopted parents really never taught me anything. >> Did you call them mom and dad or did you call them something else? >> Used to. >> Did you use a knife or did was it something else? >> Yeah, a kitchen knife. >> The kitchen knife? The silver-handled one? >> Yeah, I dropped the first one and then I went and dropped the second. >> Did it break off? >> What do you do with the second one? >> Was your dad sleeping? >> Yeah. >> Did you guys have a fight prior to this? >> No. >> It just raged? >> I'm mentally ill. >> Were you diagnosed with something or >> No, I diagnosed myself. >> What did you >> The foundation for claiming temporary insanity, I'm mentally ill. >> Diagnosed [clears throat] yourself with >> They just don't know that, you know, the stuff that I think about. It's not great. >> What do you think about? >> I don't like the people on this side. I'm just I'm just trying to kill them. Used to. You want to understand it's like it's hard to explain. >> So, have you had these thoughts for most of your life as a >> No, it came up because of the anchor. >> You were sitting in your car and you just came up with this that you were going to do something now? >> Came out in Florida like before that. And I tried to get back with them and have lost the feeling again, but it doesn't seem like it It felt like nothing's going right for me. >> What happened when you went to the bedroom? You know I was sleeping, what happened? >> It just happened. >> Did you pick your dad because you knew that you had to disable him first. >> Yeah. >> Did he wake up after you stabbed him? >> You ask me dumb weird questions. >> We know that he got out of bed somehow. >> Yeah, he You know what I mean? Stop. >> Where was your mom at? >> I don't know. >> She was next door? >> Why are you asking me these questions? >> What is it going to get me? I'm still going to go to prison, so. >> Do you think you should go to prison? >> Well, that'll be the obvious consequence. >> So, your dad starts getting up out of bed. >> No, he wasn't. He was sleeping. >> And you stabbed him? >> Yep. >> Do you remember how many times? >> Comes going around the house trying to find me back. >> Did you stab him out in the living room or >> Yep. >> leaving out of the bedroom? >> Yep. >> Where was your mom at? >> Going around the neighborhood asking for help. >> Was she on her phone? >> Possibly. Someone called the police. >> Did she hit you or anything or try to fight you off or >> She's a woman. What do you think she's going to do? >> You'll want to know I stabbed both of them. Like, why are you asking me these questions that are obvious? >> I don't know for sure. >> What happened in there? >> You didn't know I did? >> Did she run out the front door? >> Yep. I told her to get back inside. >> And she kept going? >> No, she went back inside. >> Where was your dad at that point? >> Dead. You basically get an idea of what this is. You jump >> I know. They had to be so scared and I wonder what made the mom I know he said go back in the house, but I wonder what made her go back in the house cuz if you were here at the beginning, one of the neighbors said I heard knocking. I was waking up, so it took me a minute to realize what was happening. By the time I got there, there was nobody outside anymore, but there's just a lot of blood. So, that has to be Jennifer Tower, the mom, trying to knock for help, but um she followed his instructions about get back inside their house, like the house she lived in. Um I know she had to be terrified to wake up seeing your husband being stabbed by your adopted son. Then, um like the po- with the When the police asked the question, it shows he was planning it cuz they said, "Did you stab the dad first so you could disable him first, right?" So, that's going to come up That's going to be important later for the trial footage that we'll watch. Um they're not going to go to that part, but they are going to talk about premeditation overall. So, that's one. He's And it was something else already kind of admitted in this setting that he thought about it before he actually went in the house. It wasn't just like it happened and he wasn't thinking about it prior to. Yeah, he And maybe he physically dragged her back in the house. True. And I'm just seeing like the dad trying to fight him off and >> [sighs and gasps] >> just wait till y'all wait till y'all hear how many times he stabbed his parents. I'm going to rub my nose. That's this. >> You want to shut the story but I just brutally stabbed my mom and dad and parents. >> What did you do to get When your mom came back in the house, what happened? Mom, did you hear what I said? >> Yeah, I know. >> Is she listening to you if she comes back? >> Yeah, I talked to her. Yeah, I tried to talk to her. >> How did that conversation go? >> It was a monologue. >> So, did you stab her already at that at that point? >> finish saying what I had to say. >> Do you remember what your mom said at all last night when you guys were talking after you had killed your dad? Did she say you she loved you? >> She said I'm bleeding blood and wounds. >> What did you tell her? >> I just No, why would I do that? >> Did you have a feeling of remorse after you >> I just ignored her. Why would I do that? He is heart He is cold, just heartless. >> You stabbed your mom and she's asking for a an ambulance. >> You're asking really disturbing questions. >> Disturbing questions? >> Yes, disturbing. >> Is it starting to get to you now? >> It's not like it's getting to me. It's just Why would you be asking that? >> After you said what you had to say to her, then you stabbed her. Where at? >> A lot of places. Like you Don't you already know this? >> Then she laid right there. >> No, she tried fighting me back. >> She wasn't crying, pleading for her life or anything? >> She wasn't. >> So, you stabbed her in the throat. Was that the last time you stabbed her, or you kept stabbing her? >> Kept stabbing her. >> Where was the dog at? In the master bedroom? >> Yeah. I wouldn't kill it. >> But listen to him. So, he's just talked about how he killed his mom and dad, and then they ask him about the dog, and this is what he says about the dog. >> Kept stabbing her. Where was the dog at? In the master bedroom? >> Yeah. I wouldn't kill a dog because there's no reason to. Yeah. >> Yeah. What was the reason to kill your parents? Give us one reason. >> I don't like them. >> Did your adopted family love you? >> Yeah, they loved me, but it was not always about love or family. I'm not trying to tell you that. I tried to kill my parents. It just know what it is. There's not that type of man, you know. >> Like you know, who's the household of the house? A man is, right? >> Yeah, it depends differently whoever you ask, you >> No, it's different whoever you ask because this country so tough, but the answer is man. My mom and dad and mom was, you know, sometimes I feel like she's the household of the house. >> Mhm. >> Did that set you off? >> No, many reasons. >> Yeah, it just that >> That is one of the reasons. >> Did they ever hurt you? >> No. >> And what's eating you? >> Sorry. So, he said no, but then he said that was one of many reasons. So, he did not like whenever his mom took control in the house. That was for him, that was not her role. That's crazy though, it's that's still in the list of reasons of how he got to this point. And then to to answer cuz they said, "Did you not feel loved or whatever?" And he was like, "They loved me, but I basically I guess that was not enough." I'm paraphrasing what he said, but >> [sighs] >> people just try to people try to care for people, and sometimes this is what they get. >> I can tell some stuff happened. There's something that's making you feel that way. >> Other stuff that's not related to it. It's this situation that made me do it. You don't call police in a family disagreement, you know, that's just a stupid thing to do. They can get me, too, after certain way. They have to call police. >> Remember they called the police for multiple assaults. And one of them was him close-fist punching the dad. And he said, "You don't call police for family disagreements." So, did the police show up? They did. So, did they argue a lot then? >> [clears throat] >> Because of me, you know, it was all about It was >> It was just about you? >> My mom like cares about me more than my dad does. And then she says that I ruined the marriage. >> Who would stand up for you? >> My mom would. She's sick and tired of putting up to all that disrespectful stuff. >> Well, when you made you take that out on your parents, though. Why Why did it lead to that? >> Because they're part of it. >> Or how much did you drink last night? >> I didn't drink a lot. I didn't drink a lot. Yesterday was not it. But it has nothing to do with what happened. >> The alcohol didn't affect you? >> No. I've been mad for a long time now. >> Did something trigger it, or did you just say, "I'm I'm doing it"? >> I just said I'm doing it. It sounds crazy, doesn't it? >> [snorts] >> It's your story, so >> Well, it's still crazy easy story, though. This is mentally ill. Like, you know that. It's >> Is it mental illness, or do you think that's regret that you had last night? >> It's regret. >> What makes you say you're mentally ill? >> What I did. >> But there's a There's a difference between mentally ill and and having rage and being pissed off. Which Which is that for you? >> Well, it's it's the second one. The way you grow up when you're a child, that's your funda- fundamentals for the rest of your life. If you don't have a good childhood, you're going to be messed up in the head. I wasn't brought up right. That's why I say mentally ill. Different sides of me, like I said. There's like There's a bad me, there's good me. I don't know. >> Yeah, I think a lot of people have that. >> It is messed up, though. You know it, and I know it. >> What you did? >> Yeah. It's the thought of what's going through my head is that I should have left earlier. So, because I know the area >> [clears throat] >> and I could have got away from police. >> Did you hear what the police officer said to you? >> [clears throat] >> Did you have a lot of blood on you? >> Yeah. >> Did you try to rinse it off or >> Well, I rinsed it most of it off. I had to swim in a few canals. That's how I got through to wash it off. Washing helped them stop me. >> Where were you going to go to? >> I was going to try go to like Orlando Port and try find some kind of ship and get on and leave. >> Mhm. >> I was thinking of getting on the ship because I just wanted to leave. >> So, are you going to try to go back to the Ukraine or >> Yeah. >> Do you want to eat? >> He is 21 years old. If he was so unhappy, why can't you skip killing the people that housed you, fed you, bought you a car, tried to be the parents to you that they thought you needed? Because they thought you were being saved from a country that was and is going through a lot. Why didn't you just hop on that boat? Why didn't you just go to the Orlando Port and hop on the boat before you stabbed them? If that's all you wanted to do, you you hate the country, all this other stuff, this country is s h i t, fine, fine, fine. Why didn't you just walk to the port or drive to the port in THE CAR THEY BOUGHT for you and get on the ship that way? Why are two people dead that tried to take care of you? And you couldn't just get on that ship back to the Ukraine where you wanted to be. He's not a minor. >> Yeah. >> So, we have a search warrant for buckle swab and taking hair and and stuff like that. >> And I'm just going to apply a little bit of pressure. >> I want to go back. I'm trying to catch that screenshot. Hold on. >> Taking hair and and stuff like that. >> All right. If I had her job and I walk in here and you don't have this man's wrist and ankles handcuffed, but I'm supposed to get this close to him and swab his cheeks, scrape under his fingernails, take photos, there's no way. I'm quitting that day. He is in there for being accused of a murder he's murders he's admitting to. And he's just free as a bird in this room. I could not do this job. There's no way. Like they have to be restrained. Like cuz you just don't No. Not when you're being accused of anything violent. I just could not do it. And it just disturbed me seeing it and I had to make a note about it. The dog is still alive. >> For sure. Second. So now what I'm going to do is I'm going to photograph you. I'm going to ask you to take your shirt off and place it in this bag. >> Can I get a little more water? Can you save it? Uh no, not right now. >> What do you mean by not right now? Is it possible later or >> Well, we don't Nobody smokes, so >> I just thought >> All right, I'm back. I I could say I'll give it 3 minutes when it does that. It's like a little gap that happens every now and again every evening cuz every day this has happened now, but I'm back. If it freezes, I'm giving it 3 minutes before I think about ending the live. So, I'm back. Okay, Omar, I was going to type it, but I'll go ahead and tell you since I had to pause anyway. He said, "Why would I kill a dog? The dog didn't do anything." Just so you know, when they asked him about that he he talked to him like they was crazy for asking, you know, about the dog. Okay, so I'm going back just a little bit before it froze. Right, they might as well tune in to the Burger King drive-thru. Right, 41st. >> Not right now. What do you mean by not right now? Like is it possible later or >> Well, we don't nobody smokes, so >> And it's hard to have a conversation about that. >> I know. We did well. I know it sucks, but there was kids look like they were from Africa on the refrigerator. >> Parents were supporting this girl in Africa. They were sending her money, getting an education, and getting well fed. >> Have you been following what's going on with the war in the >> Oh, yeah. I mean, cuz the news media's it's full of nonsense. What I do is I go on YouTube and I actually watch the battles themselves and I get the reports from the guy making a video on how the battle is going. >> Yeah, I heard that when you go back to Ukraine. So, I've been thinking about There's nothing here for you? >> Yeah. There's no way that I can smoke cigarettes anywhere? >> Nobody smokes anymore. It's frowned upon. >> Yeah. Hello. >> Hey, Ola. Dima was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of fleeing law enforcement. He pleaded not guilty and the case went to trial. Interestingly, his defense didn't deny the killing. >> That got me too, that he he did all that, said all that, and then played not guilty when he got to trial. Oh, but we're not done. Let's go ahead and watch the clips from the trial and what his defense tries to do and how he destroyed his own defense attorney's arguments. >> killings. Instead, they argued the charges should be reduced to second-degree murder or manslaughter, focusing not on whether he did it, but whether it was premeditated. Evidence was presented to jurors and details of the killings were revealed. Dima had stabbed his adoptive father 68 times and his adoptive mother 79 times, just shy of 150 total stabbings. With all the information laid out, Dima himself took the stand to argue his case. >> Should I talk about uh my life before orphanage or >> We will Sure. >> I just want to say that judge gets him together a few times and uh a lot of his talk carries over from what he did in his interrogation as far as America ain't ish. I'm not defending anything. I'm just telling y'all what he's saying though. America ain't ish. It's all y'all's fault why we got to this point type thing. And um yeah, judge get him together a couple times though. >> How did you end up getting to an orphanage? Yeah, I mean I'll allow a brief background, very very brief. >> You know, maybe I can give a little bit of my personal background or something. >> Mr. Taler, the way it's going to work the same with all witnesses. You need to listen to the question and then answer only the question that's been asked of you, okay? >> The incident that we're talking about, how long prior to that were you back living with the house? You had just moved back there, correct? >> Well, yeah, I I assumed that that >> Do you know Do you know Do you know Mr. Tower? >> Yes. All right. Remember the >> Remember the jurors, let's take a break. All right, Mr. Given, why don't you spend a moment with your client. We can't tolerate this kind of behavior here in the courtroom. I already spoke to your client about it. >> Was that the first time that you had ever had that kind of encounter with police? >> Yes. >> Judge wasn't here for the tears. I haven't heard before I have not seen with my own eyes until I saw this one that a judge tells the defense attorney to tell their client to basically stop crying. He been working at judges nerves. We're just looking at clips, but I'm telling you he been working this judges nerves. >> How did that make you feel? >> Uncomfortable talking. >> When you were talking with the police, did you understand everything that they were asking you? >> I did. >> Did you feel like you answered appropriately given that you were uncomfortable? >> No. >> Do you remember talking with them about multiple times having thoughts of killing your parents? >> [snorts] >> Yeah, I only had those thoughts a couple times. >> Did you ever have a plan in place to to make that happen? >> No, I did not. >> I don't think [snorts] I have anything further, Judge. >> State's cross-examination. >> Are you going to look me in the eye, Mr. Tower? >> He also does not like women trying to be in positions of authority, so that's that's another reason he definitely not going to like the prosecutor cuz she is a woman and she's over here having the audacity to question him. So, you know, he does He didn't respect his adopted mom having head of household tendencies in the house. He's definitely not going to like that it's a prosecutor cross-examining him or at all that trying him in this case. >> Let's start. >> What were you thinking about between the time you took [clears throat] that sharp knife and started to stab your father in the dark. >> I wasn't thinking anything. What is there to think? >> Are you telling this jury that you won't even look in the eye that the people who brought you over here and gave you a home that you were stabbing them and you didn't think anything of it? Is that what you're saying? >> Answer is too complicated for you. >> No, it's not a complicated >> And he didn't say it's too complicated. He said it's too complicated for her. The answer's too complicated for her. >> complicated answer. >> I was not in my completely right state of mind. >> parents >> They were not my parents. I was temporarily insane, as I said. >> temporarily insane >> Yes. >> Uh-huh. >> Members of the jury, I'm going to ask that you strike that last response. >> You made Jennifer and Robbie's life a living hell, didn't you? >> Again, there was a lot that went on that >> Yes. >> Yes, but some adults don't know how to be parents. Yes. >> You made their life a living hell. >> I didn't. There's some adults don't know how to be parents. You don't know what you're talking about. >> In fact, >> I came from a harsh environment. >> Many people come from a harsh environment. >> you you got to learn you got to know how to treat those people correctly so they grow grow grow up properly. >> And so how do you need to be treated? >> I have been treated. It's and it's too late for that. I'm I'm I'm adult now. If I made their life a living hell, it probably had something to do with them. >> You were thinking about [clears throat] killing your parents for the last several days. Isn't that true? >> I only thought of thought this couple times. This was not a constant thought in my head. >> Okay, so you thought about it at least a couple times before you did it? >> No, I thought it one time and the second time I thought it I did it. >> You thought about it the first >> Thinking about it and then doing it is premeditation. He That's one of the ways he destroyed his defense attorney's argument for him to get second-degree instead of first-degree murder. >> time and then you put it off, then you thought about it a second time and then you went and did it. Is that right? >> Correct. >> Okay. When you were sitting out in your car, did you decide to kill your parents before you walked in? >> Yes. >> Yeah. And if he hadn't destroyed the argument before in his defense, when the prosecutor asked you, "Were you thinking about killing them while you were sitting in your car right before you did it?" and you say, "Yes." Premeditated, which I'm glad, again, because he deserves every piece of time they're going to give him. >> I don't have anything else. Thank you, your honor. >> It's important to consider whether or not the killing was done after consciously deciding to do it. I would submit that Mr. Tower doesn't have the ability. >> Objection, and may we approach? >> No, I'm going to sustain the objection. I sustain the objection. >> Thank you. >> Disregard the last statement by defense counsel. >> He proved everything in this case when he took that stand yesterday and he said, "I was sitting in the car thinking about it before I went into the house." >> We the jury find as follows as to count one, victim Jennifer Tower, the defendant is guilty of murder in the first degree as charged. We the jury find as follows as to count two, victim Bonnie Tower, the defendant is guilty of murder in the first degree as charged. We the jury find as follows as to count three, the defendant is guilty of fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer. >> Good afternoon, Mr. Tower. >> I know. I just wanted to the court to know that Dima didn't just >> Take your time. >> He didn't just >> Um I missed the text, but from my notes, I believe this is the father of Robbie, which would be the adoptive dad of uh Dima Tower, the one that just got convicted. >> Killed Robin and Jennifer. Killed a part of all of us. Dima, look at me. >> No, sir. You Go ahead and direct direct your comments to me, okay? >> I would like him to change his name while he's in jail. I don't want him to use my name anymore. They were just great people. They were honest. They were religious. Cared about everybody. They saw Dima, they figured they'd give him a chance at life. And it's just a total waste. >> He says he holds in such high esteem the way of life in Ukraine and that the man should rule over his family with some sort of an iron fist and that his wife must be subservient to him. But I would like to remind him and the court that the same way of life relegated him ending up in an orphanage where no one cared. He's a coward. Precious. My precious friend. And the man that was like the older brother that I never had. >> She could not have loved you more, Dima, than if she gave birth to you herself. I think it's ironic now that hopefully he can spend the rest of his measly existence in a prison in the land that he hates so much. >> Robin was my son. Robin was my son. >> [laughter] >> And he could not have ever been a better father. He spoiled him. He did everything that he could and Jennifer. >> [laughter] >> And the the the two of them did everything to make him happy and they they couldn't do enough. And my boys want to know, "Where's Robbie?" And I can't explain it to them cuz they don't understand. Heaven, I miss him so much. I'm so sorry. I brought [snorts] them with me so they could see what we're doing for them. I I I just don't know how he can live with himself. You and you're going to have to think about this for the rest of your life what you did. You you didn't just murder Robin and Jennifer, you murdered all of us. >> Mr. Gemen, have you have you spoken to him at all about what he wishes to say? >> No, I haven't. I don't want to see >> Ooh, that's a bad move. Not the defense not warning him about how he's supposed to say something about right before he gets sentenced. Purple Professor Purple Queen and 41 Fit, let me tell you what. That woman, cuz I watched it before I watched it with y'all and that woman, my eyes got watery. She got me the most. I hated it for everyone that was on that stand, but she got me the most. It was oh my gosh. Cuz that's exactly what I was hearing. I'm like these people seem like they they keep trying with him. Do you know how hard it is to try with someone that's punching you and making you feel like that you might need to be Baker acted for a little bit and everything else and you're still like trying to work with them because I'm sure they were thinking but it's probably because of his life he had before he got here. It's probably because cuz of his life he had before he got here. One of the friends, the I think Jennifer's friend, the the victim that was the adopted mom, she dropped a bar. Whoever said it dropped a bar, she said she she thinks it's appropriate that he has to spend the rest of his life in jail in the country he hates so much. I said, "Yes, ma'am." >> single negative comment from full contact. >> There'll be no such words. >> This is an opportunity for you to show remorse. >> We must understand that we live in an unmanly world. And what what what this means is >> Mr. Tower, I'm not concerned about what world you believe in. >> The remorse that I have for my adopted parents it might be unshown, that doesn't mean it's not felt. There are a lot of fatherless children out there. My apology in this is that nobody want to be held accountable for their actions and I'm being held accountable for the actions of grown men. So my apology is that I have to be responsible for what Oscar did to his children and what Phil did to his children. And how how can I apol- >> I have to pause it cuz you have to know this what this text says. It says Dima is attempting to place blame on his adoptive parents parenting and I think he also blames uh Robbie's dad. So the one that said I want my name back, I don't want him going to jail with my last name, he I think he's also blaming him as well. >> apologize for the mistreatment that that Oscar as a stepfather >> All right, I'm going to have the defendant removed from the stand. Excuse me for not to uh giving an apology. >> Mr. Tower, I >> Before the judge speaks and drops his uh sentencing down, I'm going to read this. Ace Moon shot said, "Can't prove it, but I think the defense just did due diligence and felt no remorse watching this monster sink into the system." That's actually a good point. He might the defense attorney might have just done enough where you're not going to uh put my uh my license, my me being able to practice in jeopardy, but I'm not doing extra. So that that is actually a good point. Sweet Tea, um yeah, the the family and the friends said it seemed like the parents did spoil him, which you know, not that's not horrible like but he didn't deserve it is what I'll say though. And self-entitled, yes, no remorse at all. >> I don't know what else to say. Uh you seem to be an evil spirit, an evil person. >> Evil spirit because you're talking foolish. >> Who doesn't seem to have any >> I'm full of remorse. I'm not showing it. >> I will at this time, Mr. Tower, sentence you as to count one. This is for first-degree murder of Robbie Tower. I will sentence you to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Count two, and often I do run them concurrent. I know that the defense requested that. We have a unique and clearly a special life in Jennifer Tower as well. I'm going to adjudicate you guilty of count two, first-degree premeditated murder on Jennifer Tower. I will run this sentence consecutive to count one. I will sentence you, Mr. Tower, to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Count three, the fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement with lights and sirens, I'll adjudicate you guilty. What degree felony, state? >> Third. >> Sentence you to the maximum of 5 years in prison to run concurrent with count two. I will order that you have no contact whatsoever with Robbie and Jennifer's family. >> What about the truth? >> Good luck to everyone. >> He was still going. He was talking back while he was being sentenced. I told y'all this was going to be a piece of work. Um, yes, consecutive is proper. I don't care if he does or doesn't live long enough for consecutive to matter. I'm with you, Ace Moonshot. Consecutive was proper to me when I saw that judge say that. I am with you 100%. Level said, "Why won't they take him out the courtroom since he doesn't know how to conduct himself?" I think the judge wanted him to hear his sentencing, uh, the length of his sentence. I think that's probably the only reason why. I'm not sure. I don't know. Cuz he sure got to stay there the whole time. Ooh. >> [sighs] >> 415 said, "My silly behind would have called him the spawn of Hades or something bananas like that. Yeah, get real creative with the words. He deserves it. He deserves it. But that's crazy. So basically, in that interrogation, too, at one point the detectives, you know, say, "Well, you know, basically, what do you have against your parents, your adoptive parents?" And he was like, "I hate this country. This is a s h i c country and they're from this country." And I'm like, "Well, what?" All right. He's where he's supposed to be for the rest of his life. He is exactly where he needs to be. But I Oh my gosh. He was an adult. He could have just went back to the Ukraine. You're not in foster care anymore. You're not a minor. If you were going to do that anyway to get away with trying to murder them, why didn't you just go back to the Ukraine minus stealing other people's lives? Like But yeah, there we go. So that was that one. Um Y'all sent it to me. I watched it and I My mouth was open the whole time and I was like, "Oh, was not expecting this." I don't know what I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting that. Yep, you can enjoy that lifestyle much better. It's more rigid. The rules are more rigid, you know? And then you don't even have to put up with women. I don't Or you're not a Not many you're going to see. You're not going to see a lot of women over there, you know? So there's that. That's great for him. They probably wanted him to be sentenced here. They probably didn't deport him cuz they wanted him to to make sure he suffered and got sentenced right here where they know he got his exactly what he deserved. Yeah, with what's in him, you're right, Ace Moonshine. No matter where he was going to live, he was going to kill somebody. Yeah. I Yeah, I could see it. He still don't care. He is about to make some friends. Yeah, tell them Repeat to them what you said on the stand. Go ahead and tell them what you said. All right, y'all. That's the evening one. I'm going to go ahead and get out of here because I'm going to see y'all again tomorrow morning for the normal body cams that we watch. And 41 films, I'm happy to see you. Are you still studying? Do you have a lot of school still going on down there? I be trying to let you do your thing, but I miss you. >> [laughter] >> But all right, so I'll see y'all in the morning.
