Bounty hunters are empowered by an 1875 federal law that permits agents of bail bondsmen to enter residences and cross state lines in pursuit of bail jumpers. [music] Bail jumpers offenses can range from simple misdemeanor to armed assault, drug trafficking, and even murder. This is their world. All right. >> I said turn your hand around. >> Across the [music] United States, go down. >> Over 10 [music] million fugitives roam our city streets. >> I go back to jail. >> Fugitive recovery agents. The real bounty hunters are the men whose job it is to bring these felons down. To seek. >> Go, go, go, go, go, go, go. >> To locate. >> Hang on. You're under arrest. >> To capture >> down all the way down. >> Don't move. >> To bring them back to justice. Fugitive recovery agents, the real bounty hunters, is shot entirely on location and involve people that jump bail. Although guilty of jumping bail, they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. These are their stories. >> As of last night, we located fugitive uh Gregory Nichols in the apartment right down the street here. We're in the city of Clovis and uh we're just waiting for him to step out of the apartment so uh we can move in and have him. His uh car is parked under a canopy directly in front of us and um we're hoping that he can step out of the apartment and come around the side. At that time, we'll uh spot him and then just uh move in and uh make the arrest. He's got two warrants. One being a traffic violation. Second one is the uh the big one, the $25,000 felony warrant for uh drugs. Patrick is uh been working with me for the last 5 years. The team consists of Patrick, Mo, and I. Yeah, we got another vehicle down at the end of the street behind the uh complex watching the uh uh back part of the uh complex in case he comes out. We can't see the front door from here. So, if he comes out the front door and there's two bikes uh back there, so I don't know if the the guy rides a motorcycle or not, but I want the rear covered as well. If he gets on a bike, though, we we've lost him. I'm not sure whether they're married or they're divorced or whatever. But I know that's his uh either girlfriend or wife, but still I want to be able to catch him on the outside. His hair is shoulder length and it kind of curls up on the ends uh like he was wearing a ponytail for a while. See if she looks this way. Was she by herself? The >> kid's still here. So, what that means? >> Yep. Just keep an eye on the apartment. I didn't want her to see us in the on the street. We're going to back up in a minute. >> I want to get a visual on him before we uh hit it. Okay. >> Okay. >> We just saw the uh his wife leave. We have seen the baby come out of the apartment. So that only mean means one thing is that uh she left and left the baby with him. So but we want to get a a visual on him to make 100% sure that uh he's there. >> Excuse me. How you doing? Good. >> Need to talk to you. Haven't seen this guy. >> I know for a fact he lives here, man. >> Have you seen him in 104? 109. >> 104 is mine. >> Okay. >> 109 is down here. Oh, is that daddy? No, I didn't call in 10 109. >> No, this guy's name is Gregory. Gregory Nicholls. His wife just left just now. We got a Nicholls living in uh Yeah. 109 here. >> Mhm. >> But uh she's got this little girl. >> Yeah. >> Who else lives in there? >> Just her and her little girl. That's it. >> She just left. Did she have to leave the baby with somebody? >> What? That that little black car? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, that's Jennifer, >> right? Uh who she leave the little girl with? >> With us, her babysitter. >> She's only about 5 years old. >> So, nobody's in the 109 right now. >> No. >> I just saw him here yesterday. >> Well, then you must be coming over there. You want to meet? cuz I don't I've never seen a guy here. >> The uh manager's wife said, "Well, I think he lives like two or three blocks from here." She didn't know for sure. So, we just went out, started uh canvasing the area and we talked to one apartment manager and said, "Yeah, he lives in 133D. We'll look for 133." 138. Okay. Okay, it's right in here. This is one one D 105. Let's go back around this. Oh, it was 133D. >> Yeah. 267. >> It's got to be It's got to be back in there. >> Yeah. 136. >> How do they just walk in there? Wait, >> without the gear. >> These are step. >> Yeah, just just knock at the door. Let's check the mailboxes real quick. 133. Yep. >> On the other side. >> Are you sure? >> Yeah. >> Hold on. >> Yeah. 133. It's on this side. Here it is. Right here. Sprinkle. >> Hey guy, how you doing? Gregory. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. How you doing? I got to warrant your arrest. >> Hey, what? Hey, what? Coup him up. Hold on. You got it. >> Yeah. >> Just don't put up a fight. Just be cool. >> Got it. >> Yeah, I got it. Okay, I got it. Let's go. I'm going to put these on those. These are a little more comfortable. >> Yeah, I'm not trying to run. >> These are a little painful. You can put him in the front. Just put it up there. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Have a seat right there, Gregory. Yes, >> sir. >> Uh we spent three days looking for him. Uh and we had three different addresses where that were uh uh not right, but uh we finally hit the right spot and got him. So, you missed your cord date? >> Yes. And I went down and got an extension and I had breathing problems for the last month. >> What you got? >> I don't know. I haven't went to the hospital for it. I've had serious breathing problems. >> Bronchitis. >> It's not It's more like or something. >> Oh, you smoke? >> Yeah, I smoke a lot. I had about a day. I know that. >> Just going to do it. My mom has have a breathing machine at home. >> She smokes, too? >> Yeah. >> Oh, yeah. What uh kind of tattoos do you have on you >> and where? Four of them. >> My left chest. It says, "Ladies love outlaws." >> He's doing the uh arrest tag. The arrest tag gives us uh gives the jail all the information on why we're taking him back. We turn it in at the jail whenever we take them in. And uh both warrants are uh sent over to us. Once the warrants uh we receive the warrants, we either sign them off or have a deputy or a police officer there at the jail sign them off and that reactivates the uh uh recalls the warrant and notifies the judge and the courts that the warrants been served on the individual. So they quit looking for him and uh he's back in the system as in custody and then the courts go ahead and set a court date for him where he can reappear and take care of the matter or they give him another bail, whatever he wants to do. The bail right now is on one of the uh on the charge that he bailed out on was 25,000. So he's going to have to come up with 25,000 or 2,500 to get out. Did you know your uh bail went up? It >> went up? >> Yeah. Your uh warrant came out since you didn't appear to 25,000. >> I didn't see at home. I got the extension paperwork at home. >> Yeah, but you didn't go on that date. And that that date, it only gives you one certain date you can reappear on that uh extension. If you don't appear on that date, then it's uh squashed. >> Oh, great. I didn't know that. >> Yeah. >> I'm sorry. >> You know, you got two warrants. the traffic for uh 5,025 for uh the felony drug charge. What kind of drugs were you on? >> I wasn't on any. I got copper. >> How much? >> 6 and 12 g. I think >> 6 and 12 g and they let you walk. Man, the only thing you can look forward to when you deal with drugs is get into a lot of trouble. Just like this young guy here. This is how how sure he is. He's filling out the the arrest tag already. Two of them, huh? 100,000. >> 100,000 and a 5,000. >> Wa. >> Both of them out of Fresno. One of them out of Fresno Superior and the other one out of uh municipal court on a spousal abuse case. >> Which one is it? 5,000. >> The spousal abuse. >> Oh, okay. >> Felony receiving stolen property on the other charge. >> Michael Oliver Ryan. >> You got the address and everything on this? >> Yeah. I was able to uh obtain some information from his mother. >> Uh got a phone number on a location in Farmersville. And then what we did was we got the address from the phone number. Uh that's uh the address is the the grandmother. >> Oh, >> of the defendant. And so I think it's a good location. I think he'll be there. He's not working. So >> yeah, >> there was no hurry to get out there early this morning. >> Good. Well, whenever you guys are ready, we'll roll. I got uh have mode backup. >> I'm going to be >> Yeah. >> What I'm going to do, I think, on this is since we have the phone number, I will uh get out there to the house. I'll call in the house, see if I can talk to, you know, okay, >> is get get it get a confirmation that he's in the house. In this case, uh, Michael, uh, failed to appear, uh, in court. Where, how this all started was with an initial arrest for, uh, receiving stolen property. An officer's right to arrest and suspicion. Uh, he's taken into custody and my bail agency post bond for him. His mother uh, is the indemnator. He came in, guaranteed the bond, paid the bail premium, and had us bail him out. At the time he was living here in Fresno, but u according to his mother, his grandmother had taken ill and they had gone to uh stay with the grandmother. And apparently it turned out to be a pretty good place to stay because he just decided to stay on indefinitely and not return to court. And uh that's how he ended up out here in Farmersville. And uh so we're we're going to go ahead and pursue him out there. >> How you doing? >> Okay. Uh this is the situation. We came out here. We thought uh the address that we received was Farmersville and uh we come to find out this is going to be in the county uh 16579 Avenue 291. [clears throat] This is the uh guy that we're after here. This is supposedly his grandmother's residence. I got this information from the mother. Got the address from the phone number. And I don't think that he has any idea that we know know his whereabouts. And he's not working or anything. I'm assuming he's going to be at the house. >> And uh >> what I figured we do is just to get out there and get about a block or so from the place and call up on the cellular. I told him, see if we can get it get him to come to the phone or at least confirm he's in the house and then just spring on it. >> Have you guys done a drive by to see the house? Haven't done that yet. Thought we'd do that. Have somebody go by and give us the layout. Let us know, you know, >> if there's any other out buildings besides the main residence or uh you know, what kind of field or whatever we got behind >> dogs and those sorts of things. >> Yeah. >> Why don't we do that and get that started so that we can uh get lined out on? >> Great. What's the address? >> Uh the address 1657 Avenue 291. >> Here, let me hold this on. >> Okay. We'll drive by. Why don't you just park right before you get into 291 and then >> park back this way? >> Yeah. Then I can call him radio and tell where you're at. >> I'll be down >> where the house is and there >> we just want to caravan out there then or >> Oh, well I tell you what, it wouldn't be a bad idea. It's so It's not but a little ways from here. Why don't you go go get it and come back >> cuz as soon as we caravan out there, I mean phones are going to be ringing. Call 1657. >> It's right there. That's the house. is JR Jr. When we get up uh when we get up here on the house, you go ahead and go around take the back side. I'll get in front with the sergeant. >> Which house? You're supposed to pull right into the house. Where's this house at? Go ahead and get over now. >> What's up there? >> This house right here, D. back. >> Yeah, Jar's around back. Jar, you're in position around back, right? Get the door open. >> There he is. >> How you doing, Mike? >> I need you to put your hands up behind your back. >> Michael, you're under arrest for failure to appear in the Fresno Superior Court. >> Okay. I need to get somebody down here to take care of my grandmother. >> Okay. Well, we'll call your >> We'll call your mother up and let her know that >> she's in Fresno. >> Yeah, I know where she's at. >> My daughter's in there as well. >> Who else is in the house? >> See that? My two daughters and my grandma. >> They're outside. >> Uh, no. My daughter's in there. I was laying them down for a nap. Well, simply because I would be able to see people, you know, they turn their head. >> So, you just have change here in your pocket? >> Yeah. >> No drugs, right? >> No, I don't have any drugs. I do. >> I can't handle. >> How about you guys? >> You understand why you're being taken into I just spoke with the bell bons >> to see if I can get this straight. Now, >> there are a lot of nice girls in my school. >> Okay. I know. >> I need to use the phone though to get mad or something because my uh grandma's under constant care with me. >> We have a cellular phone and we will we'll let you make a call. >> She I have two infant daughters. She's three years old. >> Okay. You got >> My aunt just lives three houses. >> Okay. >> That's my grandmother. >> She Yeah, she's under I'm supposed to keep 24-hour supervision on her. >> Three doors. >> Uh I'm not sure if it's three or four. >> What's your name? >> Can I hit you? >> Maggie Davenport. and Doris Davenport. >> No, I wouldn't like that. >> Huh? >> I talk to Doris. >> How far from nothing? >> Okay, come on. Let's go out. >> What are you going to jail for? >> Are you taking me to jail? >> Uh, somebody's going to have to be here with my daughters and my grand the >> He's going the wrong way. >> Well, he's going to get his patrol unit. >> Are you going to jail? >> Quite positive. Oh, what the hell have you done? >> It's over that stuff in Fresno. Honey, I didn't go to court when you got burnt. I can't I went to the hospital instead. >> She got thirdderee burns all the way down her and she's in a burn unit. Critical condition. >> She was frying chicken and spilled it all the way down both legs. >> Hot oil. >> Yeah, hot oil. Cooking grease. And uh it was either go to the hospital with her or go to court. So, >> I bought a a vehicle that was stolen. >> Mhm. >> Okay. So they uh they had me for uh grand theft auto and possession of stolen property. So they to told me to plead guilty on the possession of stolen property and they would drop the grand theft auto which they did and I was going back to court on that and that's when she got burnt. So, okay. So, you have >> Ellen, my name is Barry Burlstein and uh we're out here in Farmersville and we just arrested Michael on an outstanding warrant and uh he would like to know if you'd come out and uh see uh come out and watch the kids, I guess, until somebody can uh supervise. He's a little concerned about leaving the kids with the grandmother. Uh he'll be he'll be transported I I would imagine to county jail and from there back to Fresno County uh on the warrants. >> He surrendered himself into custody without incident and uh we helped him out by contacting an aunt relative who's going to come and sit with the kids uh to uh until they can make some permanent arrangements. I don't know how long Michael's going to be in custody, but uh it was fortunate that he turned himself in without incident being that there are small children in the residence. [music] [music] Heat. Although guilty of jumping bail, they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. These are their stories. >> You never know that the charge that you bail this individual out on may not have anything to do with this individual's personality. this individual may have a whole string of armed robberies, but this arrest happens to be a suspended driver's license. So, that's why I take the time to pull all of the files. I look at all the research and I pull all the intel on them so I know, at least back to the time that they were teenagers, what kind of crimes they've been getting involved in. It tells me how to approach them and it also lets me prepare myself for a potential problem. Joseph Giao. Gio was arrested by DOJ and B&E. They arrested him on a uh a drug warrant, him and his brother. What happened is they approached a house over in San Jose. He was living with his mother in the back unit and they arrested him for possession narcotics, possession of a gun. He's got a prior prior felony history and I think he's done some prior state time. Got some addresses in Sacramento for him that came off of his social security search. >> All right. The address that we're going out to now came back on a numbers trace and uh either the defendant or somebody associated to him called from this house two days ago and the number came back to a Larry Tiao off of Rochelle Drive. So what we're going to do is we're going to drive by. The only vehicle we have on the defendant is the possible white either an Acura or a Honda Accord. >> You go into a neighborhood and you're not uh covert. I mean, you go in and and usually neighbors in the areas we're going are paying attention to who's coming and going. If you have uh druggies that are working the area, they're either they have a spotter on the street or they're keeping an eye as to every vehicle that coming uh in and out of that property or that area there. So, for the most part, we want to just get in, get the information we need, take a look at the residence. Uh if we see the defendant actually at the residence at the time that we drive through, we'll go ahead and take them off on the warrant. If not, we just sit back, get as much information as we think we can get. We have 180 days to locate the defendant. So, once our time starts running, we'd like to wrap it up as quick as possible. Okay, bring you up to speed on this. Uh Joseph Chia, I talked to you about it earlier. He's got a $40,000 active warrant out of Santa Clair County Superior Court. At the time of arrest, he had uh 140 grams of methamphetamines, 40 grams of marijuana, had a handgun with him, a crossbow, some shurikens, fighting Chinese stars. Right. So, I don't know if he's going to be carrying a weapon. I don't know if he's martial arts. I do know he's got two dogs, a chow, and a Rottweiler. So, we may encounter those. As far as his warrant, like I said, it's an active warrant. $40,000 is for five felonies. He's already been convicted on it. >> So, whenever he gets picked up, that's it. >> He's going away at that. >> Go straight to prison. He'll go to sentencing and they're probably going to hit him topside because of his failure to appear. So, we have to get him by the 19th. So, we've got one shot at it. I'd like to try to get this done this morning cuz if uh he gets out of the area, we may not find him before the 19th. Yeah. We traced out some more information and picked up a new address on him. Apparently, he used a U-Haul uh to move his stuff over to this address, 8174 Montro Way in Sacramento. Uh confirmed that this is a good address for him. Apparently, last uh last information I have, there's a Chevy pickup truck matching the one that was over I don't have a plate on it, >> but a Chevy pickup truck matching the one that was over on Elorn, >> new address. >> Yeah. >> So, one of the things that she said about him is that he runs uh ads in the shoppers. He does uh appliance work, fixes, washers, dryers, things like that. So, I picked up a paper here and I found an ad that might possibly be his. um the only prefix that goes out in that area. It's a 688 prefix and it's the only one that I found in here that has it. So, what I'm going to do is I picked up an address not too far from here. I'll go ahead and and give it a call and see if possibly uh it's him. If he confirms it's him, I'm going to try to get him out here in the next hour or so. Getting away from his house. Yeah, I'm calling back. You're adding the paper. Uh, you buy washers and dryers, right? I've got a uh Kinmore wash and dryer, a top load washer. I don't know how old they are, man. They're about probably 10 years, though. Almond like kind of an off yellow almond color. They're in pretty good shape, though. over off of Maui Court. You know where uh Power in Road is across from the Lies over there. Big shopping center. If I could get 30 or $35 for the pair, I wouldn't have a problem with that. I've also got Do you do anything with refrigerators? I got a Frigid Air. That's it's an okay. I mean, it's up to you. Probably about I can stay until about 9:30. All righty. Okay. What's your name? Okay. My name's Mike. Thanks. No, it's not him. Ernest. Ernest isn't going to be too happy when he gets out there looking for the >> address. >> Yeah, he's got the address. >> Okay, we're going to go ahead and go down uh Montro. We'll be heading west. House is on the right hand side. A truck was parked out in the uh front of the house. Roll by. I'll send you first. I'll be back about 50 60 yards, maybe a little bit farther, maybe 100 yards back. >> You roll by the house. If the garage door's open, he's in there. Tap your brakes twice and pull over about a house down. I'll go ahead and pull over and approach the house from the blind side and we'll go ahead and >> both coming at you. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Do you happen to know where hands where I can see them right now? Against the car. Drop what you've got in your hands. Get against the car now. Walk towards the car. Spread them out farther. Just stay there. >> Keep that hand. Hold on. Keep that hand. >> Do you have any identification on you? >> All right. >> Give me a name. >> Joe. >> Last name. Joe. >> You're one and all worn out of Santa Clair County. Drop your cigarette out of your mouth. Okay. Lean against the car. Just put your legs back. Got anything on you, sir? Knife, gun, narcotics, anything? No. >> Okay. Who's in the house here? >> My girlfriend. >> Okay. Let's do it there. >> Would you have that? >> Yeah, sure. Just hold tight. Okay. Just let me check you for a weapon. Once I got you clear, I'll go ahead and let what's going on. Anybody else in the house other than her? >> Nothing at all. >> What? >> Nothing. >> Okay. >> Okay, Joe, step back over here. Hold on a second. Okay, step through in here like that. Got it. Take a seat. Legs this way. Hold tight. Give me a number into the house. >> 682 282. >> Hold on a second. 682 two. >> Hi, Ruby. Yeah, my name is Gary Case. I'm a detective out here front of your house. Who else is in the house with you? Who else is in the house with you at this time? Okay. Any other persons in the house other than Joe? Yeah, I have Joe out in custody here in the front of the house. Is there anybody else in the house? Okay, go ahead and step out of the house and keep your hands where I can see him all the way out to the car if you walk out here. >> Yeah, but I'm not going to be here more than 2 minutes. >> What do you want me to leave here for her? Um everything. >> Everything. Okay. >> Open door. >> Okay. Go ahead and step out here. Ruby. Joe's being taken into custody for his fa to appear in Santa Clair County. What's important is he's going to be going to Santa Clair County right now. He wants you to take his property. Go and pick up his property. He'll be in processing. We're going to have travel time of about 2 hours. Then he'll have processing for about two more hours. So, I'd assume sometime around 3:00 this afternoon. >> San Jose. >> No, you're going to Sacramento County. >> No, San Jose. >> I'll get you out of the area here, then I'll secure you a little better cuz it's going to be an uncomfortable drive with the the bondsman hire you. >> That's correct. >> Going to pay the uh the bond off. >> Yeah. Why do that? You still have an open warrant and if she pays the bond off and you're picked up 3 days later, what good is that? >> Yeah. >> You know what I'm saying? >> See, I talked to an attorney about it. You know, that's why I told Rippy to call. >> Okay. Um just go ahead and stay back for me while I'm driving. Once I get you [music] secured, will I know it's a little uncomfortable, but >> Were you following me? You were at the store getting cigarettes or out doing some work. >> You were right. >> I had a public defender and they didn't represent me properly. >> What kind of charges did they give it? I mean, what kind of uh time were you looking at? >> They never said they never um they never The only time I ever saw my public defender was the minute I went into court. >> Okay. You failed your appear during trial. Was there they sentenced you? I mean, they found you guilty. Is that correct on the charge? >> Okay. You just felt that's the way it was going. >> Well, we had um a motion to suppress the evidence. >> Uhhuh. >> And I don't feel I was represented properly in that motion. And so the very next day was trial and so I didn't >> you didn't want to show up. >> Intelligence led us to an address from North Highlands over here to an address over in Sacramento. Uh he's been here about a month. We came by this morning, set up surveillance on the property. no vehicles. However, we did have an indication of his MMO that he was working in the mornings uh doing repair of appliances. Uh that he usually took a trip or two to the liquor store. Um drove by, wasn't there, set up surveillance. I had backup with me. Backup got caught off on an emergency on another case to back up another investigator which left me out there by myself. As I rolled up, he had come in from another location and was pulling up to the property. Step out, IDed him from a photograph that I had. His hair is shorter, but IDed him from the same photograph that we had. Stepped out. Had to take a precaution cuz we did have prior weapons charges on him. So, I wanted to make sure that I kept him covered at the time that we were getting him into custody. He gets back into court. Kind of keeps the system running nice and smooth. >> Her name is Linda Hernandez. >> And what is she wanting? >> Uh, possession charges. >> One of her drugs in HNS. She failed to appear on court on 42 of 96. So, a warrant was issued for her and now our job to get her back into custody. >> That way, we don't lose the $5,000. >> Think the warrant's for what? 10,000. >> Well, we have a address we had checked on earlier. It looks good. We're going to go back there, sit on it. Uh hopefully we'll see her. >> Someone's there at the window. Got a juvenile staring out the window. And we got that elder male. I guess they're just seen watching the cars drive by. I don't know if they made us yet. Doesn't look like it. Those are the only two people I see moving right now. >> I just worried about little gang bangers, you know, making us out cuz they're pretty they get pretty bold. I had a couple come up to me before and like threatening me saying what I'm doing here and this and that. We need to get a certified copy of the bomb from the court and that gives us authorization to find these people and pick them up. So without a certified, we have no authorization. Some people that bonds that give us cases, they'll give us no information. Basically just give us their name and that's about it and a birthday. We have to go from there and that's this is one of them. So but some of it real good give us all kind of information. I don't know if they spotted us or they're waiting for someone or something, but they're both looking out. And now they're closing their mini blinds. >> Yeah, we better move. I think they spotted us. We found our truck. We've been tracking for a couple days, huh? South found a truck actually and we follow they went to the school, picked up a kid, followed to the house, and we sat in it for a while. F description, all those kids and all. Um, don't really know what house it is right now. Well, which apartment there's two. We narrow down to two. There's only four apartments. What I'm going to do, they're going to drop me off in the corner. Then I'm going to walk to the door and just just BS some like I got a package for someone else and try to peek. See who I see in there. But this one should have a tad a rose. Linda. >> Uhhuh. On her arm. >> Yeah. Uh, how 5'6 200 lb. >> 5600 lb. She's a big woman. >> Big woman. She might be >> not tall, but should be heavy set. >> Heavy [ __ ] That's there's a lot of kids there. So, >> okay. >> Mostly teenage girls. >> And the guy in there is her boyfriend, not the sister's boyfriend. >> The guy >> probably her boyfriend owned his truck. >> Yeah, it's her boyfriend. >> Oh, okay. >> But there's a >> Do you know what he looks like >> from distance? Jenny kind of >> I probably know him. >> I probably cuz if we knock on the door and you relate this guy to the truck, then that's >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Okay, >> that's my problem. >> Oh, what are you going to do? Just come back to us. Signal us or >> Yeah, I'll come back to you. >> Well, actually, if the thing's on, we'll be able to hear him say, >> "Oh, that's right." Okay. Just let us know. >> Let's go. >> How many vest we got? Straps off. >> Yeah. strategy is usually I go up through envelope or empty envelope or a box, put a different name on it, knock on the door and act like I'm lost or looking for another person. Usually they help me out. They'll, you know, be curious, ask her who it is or, you know, what's a person. I just play dumb while they're talking, you know, talking to me. I'll be eyeballing you in the house. See what I can see. Did a couple times. It worked pretty good on for me. Dan's chemical was a backup, you know, manpower. She got a bunch of kids. They said seven. And I spot for mostly teenage girls. I think one or two teenage guys and that could get out in family situations like that, it get out, you know, get out of hand pretty quick. So the more the more force we show, the more, you know, be mellow. Hopefully we hit it hard, hit it fast in and out cuz um that turn pretty ugly with families, especially the with especially the kids, teenage kids. Excuse me. >> Excuse me. >> Linda got a warrant for your arrest. >> You didn't show up for court on your >> what you doing to my kids? >> Let's go. >> Damn. >> Let's go. Let's go. >> You got shoes or something you want to take? >> Get up. Keep an eye. Let's go. Let's go. >> Get your shoes. >> Let's go. >> See what you doing to my kids. >> Let's go. You should have gone to court. >> Yeah, but you didn't have to come in like that. >> Let's go. >> Let's go. >> No way. Hold on. >> Okay. Come on. >> Let's go this way. >> All they do is just cut. >> All right. Let's go. Let's put him in back. >> Yeah. >> Locked. >> Tell him to unlock it. >> Locked. >> Well, you should have gone to court. Then this wouldn't happen. >> What did you think? I ain't murder. >> You should have gone to court. >> You guys should do that to murderers, not me. >> We don't know. So, okay. >> Keep it cool. >> You guys put this on TV and you guys have a big old Okay. Go ahead and have a seat right there. You guys barely listen what I'm saying too. >> Can't keep your eyes on the other guys. >> You call a couple hours. They'll call you. >> Let's go. Let's go. >> A drug charge. Let's go, guys. >> Let's go. Let's go. >> Okay, we got our suspect in custody. We're taking him back into booking. We're going to be booking her at the Fresno County Jail because it's the same person. >> We're staking out the area and myself and Dan spotted the vehicle coming down on uh Glenn Street. Uh we we turned we went to the opposite street, turned the corner, parked, saw the vehicle stop in front of the apartments and uh we saw Mexican male subject walk out. We saw another shadow in the truck. As soon as she stepped out of the truck, we knew it was her. So, we we went in. As soon as we went in, uh she was already in the house. Uh we had a lot of little gangbangers screaming at us and stuff. We had a fight going on in the next apartment. I didn't see Linda walk in myself, so I seen two doors. So, I just went in, covered covered one door, and as you can see going through the door, just followed her in and I followed behind. As soon as I opened the door, I had a male in front of me. I went by him, opened the door, walked in. She was sitting on the sofa. I approached her, called out her name, she acknowledged, cuffed her, and then that's when the profanity started. >> Why did we have to get her? Because of the bond. It was a pretty big sized bond. Uh she failed to appear. We had made attempts to get in touch with her. Uh she avoided us. Uh so therefore it led to us having to locate her, pick her up and take her back into jail. [music] [music] Yeah. [music] [music] [music] Heat. I don't know. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Bounty hunters are empowered by an 1875 federal law that permits agents of bail bondsmen to enter residences and cross state lines in pursuit of bail [music] jumpers. Bail jumpers offenses can range from simple misdemeanor to armed assault, drug trafficking, and even [music] murder. This is their world. >> I said turn your hand around. >> Across the United States, >> over 10 [music] million fugitives roam our city streets. >> I ain't going back to jail. [music] >> Fugitive recovery agents. The real bounty hunters are the men whose job it is to bring these felons down. [music] To seek. >> Go, go, go, go, go, go, go. >> To locate. >> Hang on. You're under arrest. >> To capture. >> Down. All the [music] way down. Don't move. >> To bring them back to justice. Fugitive Recovery Agents. The real bounty hunters is shot entirely on location and involve people that jump bail. Although guilty of jumping bail, they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. These are their stories. We have a couple active bonds on this gentleman and uh he's failed on one already and got it reinstated and he has refailed on another bond again. And with a little checking, we found out that he's been in jail since we have bailed him out. And another bondsman has bailed him out. So now he becomes quite a risk. So it's time to uh get him back into custody and get him back into jail. This is Willie. We call him Memo. He's one of our Hispanic agents and um he assists on Hispanic skips due to the language barrier. We have a little nickname for him. We call him Mr. Pepper. He uh likes to pepper can when uh they don't want to go peaceful. They want to fight. He's a very good agent and he's a very good Hispanic community. He also does broadcasting on a radio one of our local radio stations for the Hispanic community. We're going to move over to um an area that we call the Hood. That's um it's one of our rougher neighborhoods in uh the Reno area. It's it's mainly black and Hispanic and um we usually don't have too much problem in there doing cases in that area, but um there is it is a touchy area to be into um to be pulling somebody out of. But like I said, so far we haven't had too much problems over there. And uh we'll just kind of really hope this one goes kind of smooth for us too at the same time. >> Is this the house? >> 1560. >> Yeah. Where's memo? >> You go ahead. Now watch. Don't Don't pull off the back on this one. >> No, he's here. >> Is he? >> I ain't got no cuffs. >> Give me them. >> What's his name? >> Tell him you need him to step out. >> Going to step outside, please. Yes, sir. >> You're under arrest. >> For what, sir? >> I'm your bondsman. You failed to show me in court. >> All right. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Well, can I get my shoes real fast? >> Um, no. They'll just take them away from you anyway. >> Well, we'll have somebody shut it there. Okay. >> Is there somebody else there? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Just pull the door, too. >> No, there ain't no one here. >> Oh, okay. >> You like it? >> Yeah. They'll give you some shoes up there. They won't let you keep your shoes anyway. >> Okay. >> Huh. >> Yeah. Just for >> We got nothing uh sharp or anything on us, do we? >> No. No, if you buy a car and you got five years of payments and you make two years of payments and you don't pay the rest of it and you car gets repossessed, do you get the two years payments back? No. No. Okay. Same thing. You made a payment to us to get out of jail. You got to call him. >> Have a slow sit down here for a while. Well, we're going to surrender on a bond. This gentleman, we have three active bonds on right now, plus another bond that another bondsman has out that he is out on their bail. That's no big deal. It >> is to us. It's our money you're uh fooling around on. >> But all I had to do was just go to court on the 23rd. >> Well, you all you had to do is go to court the other day, too, and you didn't do it. >> Yeah, that was yesterday. >> Oh, you missed it. >> Well, damn. Don't you guys give like a couple of days or something? They all know I have to go to court the 23rd. on the 24th >> when you guys came and knocked on the door. I was like, "Ah, I'm busted. I better just answer the door. >> Did you say something about winning a prize?" >> Winning a prize? The lottery? >> I don't know. >> The only All I know is I'm going to jail. This one. >> Do you know why you're going to jail? >> Why am I stupid one? >> Damn. >> Just pin me in my room. Go to sleep. Watch TV. >> No more TVs over here. >> No more TVs. Damn. >> Hey, you guys like to read books? >> Uh, once in a while. >> Yeah. I like to read a lot of books. >> Don't make no sense, but read any books. >> Good morning. >> All right. This is Al from Max Belvar. I have a male and he's cooperative. Okay, we'll get on station. Okay. Easy, easy, easy, easy. Okay. Stop right there. The wall. right here. >> You want to skip stick me or anything? >> No. >> Okay. He uh admitted that he had missed court and uh he just figured he could go a little later and that would be the end of it and uh he is building charges and he's using other bondsmans to get out. Before you know it that these guys got a whole bunch of charges and nobody knows until it's too late. >> Hello. >> Hi. How are you today? >> Good. I want to get a certified copy of Bond and the individual that we're going for is uh Terry Joe Tabert. We're doing here is giving the uh certified copy of the bond on this particular individual u that basically acts as our warrant to u to get in and um uh make the arrest. This uh case that we're going to be going out on is a small misdemeanor warrant, but uh this individual um has not made any contact with our bondsman. Our bondsman uh has tried relentlessly to contact him and the co-signer and everything to take care of this problem. We already established a possible home address on the guy. We're going to go up here a bit and we're going to drive by the house. Maybe talk to a neighbor. Uh we have four different phone numbers that go to this house. So hopefully we'll get one that actually rings and somebody pick it up. And uh if we can identify our guy being in the house, we'll make our entry and uh see if we can get off the bond today. Here's our cop right here. He's going to help us uh in this matter. So, I'm going to get out and chat with him real quick. There we go. How you doing? >> Good. Uh wanted to come out here and on this Mr. paper thing, you know. Uh, right now we're showing we got one warrant. I don't know if you got any more. >> I checked, you know, before I came here and he said he's got four >> four warrants for the rest out. Sure. >> Okay. What we're going to do is we're going to go up and and check out the house and see what the situation is with the house. Get a complete layout and everything. >> And instead of bugging the guy, let letting him know that you're sitting down here, you know, behind us, we're going to come back. If it looks like it's a go, then we'll we'll proceed in there. If not, then, you know, we'll be on our way. Okay, great. Good luck. >> Hey, thanks. I appreciate it. >> I'm going to drive by this house and get an idea what it looks like. Uh, we'll get us an address here. This is our house right here. Well, it looked like back out here. It looked like uh there's a couple work trucks there and there's a shed in the back. So, it's very possible our guy's there. So, what we're going to do is we're going to go back down to where the officer was and we're going to set up and we're going to make a phone call and uh hopefully somebody answers the phone. I'm going to make the phone call and hopefully we get the guy on the on the line. Then we're going to make the the entry into the house and uh um we got three agents here and including myself and we're going to uh just secure everything there. hopefully our guy's there and uh he surreners peacefully and take him down. So uh we want to get off this bond. I'm sure our client wants to get off the bond too. So So we're going to go ahead and sue that. >> Don't rack any rounds. Okay. Uh put my radio on. There we go. Here, Rebecca. Um, usually whenever there's kids kids and we know there's some children here at the home and uh there's probably some females here. It's a good thing to have a female operative to go in with us on this. They're real good uh mediators. They uh they they can handle a good situation uh or they we can take a bad situation, turn it into a good situation. We got a female there and uh it's we're non-threatening and uh everything is very copathetic and and uh people understand our our uh the meaning of our presence there. So kind of this answer machine. Okay, our co- center answered. So, let's go on up to the house. Look, I'm we're going to make an entry. I believe he's there. So, I just have a good feeling about this one. So, soon as we pull in, I'm going to go to the house. I'm going to go towards the front of the house or actually the back of the house. Rebecca's going to stay out by the street >> and everything. And I want you to go towards the shed. Okay. The garage back on the left side down the driveway. >> Just cover that and clear it. Yeah. Okay. And uh the guy's name is Taber. Cherry Taber. He's approximately 200 lb, 6' tall, brown hair, blue eyes. Okay. So, let's go get him. We're um coming up on the address right now. 5310. All right. Hey. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. I'll take the rear. Got this door right here. >> Hi. >> Hi. >> We're looking for Terry. >> Yeah. Table. >> He doesn't live here right now. >> No. >> Okay. >> Who's here? >> I'm looking for Terry. Table. >> Oh, we haven't seen. >> Are you skip? No. >> Okay. A lady a Terry Joseph >> table. >> Let's settle my heart's >> pump. All right, that's fine. >> Be careful. That dog can bite. Okay, >> that's okay. All right. >> Yeah, I know you're used to that, but don't shoot him. >> Yeah. So, so [laughter] we don't know who that is. >> Take a look around, boys. >> We don't we haven't >> All right. Well, we just got we had we had information that the individual lived here at this address and everything. So, >> we've only lived here for six weeks. So, >> Okay. Six weeks. >> Possible that they have lived here before us. I would >> assume the last tenant the landlord evicted the last tenant. So I suspect that's probably talking about >> Okay. All right. I apologize about the hell out of >> No, [laughter] no, that's quite all right. Do you know Terry Taber by chance? >> Terry who? >> Taber. >> He used to live across the way with Skip and >> Oh, wait a minute. What did he look like? Uh >> he's about uh 6 foot tall, brown hair, 200 lb. The guy's a painter by trade. Cuz there was a couple people that lived there. They just get out of jail. >> I would assume he just got out of jail not so long ago. So >> yeah, cuz they all moved. >> Uh-huh. >> Cuz we were kind of friends with them. >> They moved right over there. >> Over there. >> El on El Camino. >> Uhhuh. >> If you go down, there's like a lot and there's horses there and they're up there. It's like a gate, a gate driveway, a dirt driveway, and they're up the hill. We talked to the neighbors on this and they advised just to go to this particular house right here across the street. They said that the defendant and his buddies, his friends or roommates, uh have a red firebird and we just drove by the other angle and confirmed there's a red firebird up in the back. So, we're going to go up here and we're going to make contact and they have guard dogs on duty. So, uh, the neighbor said that they have a Rottwaller named Maggie. So, we'll see, uh, if Maggie is indeed here or not. So, >> hello. >> Hello. >> How are you? >> I'm okay. How are you? >> Not too bad. Hi. >> Hi. How you doing? >> I'm looking for Skip. >> Skip? >> Yeah. Do you know a Skip? I don't know a skip. >> How about a Terry? >> Terry? Terry Taber lives over here. >> Where? >> In the house. >> In the house. Is he there right now? >> Equipment for >> Is Terry there right now? >> I'm not sure. >> What's he driving? >> Um, he has a little metro geo. >> Okay. All right. It's this house down here. >> I'll take the rear. >> Okay. Got this door right here. There's uh no furniture in here. Why don't you watch this front? >> Okay. Carrie. Nothing. Someone's walking upstairs. >> Are you Terry? Yeah. >> Okay. Here we have a warrant for your arrest. Okay. >> Okay. >> Terry Taber, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Jump bond on us. Okay. >> All right. >> I closed my house. >> As soon as as soon as we secure you. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. >> I didn't jump my bail. >> No. No, you didn't. >> You you you failed to appear on the on in May. Okay. Put your head right up against his wall. Okay. You got anything I should know about? No. >> Any weapons? >> Didn't let go of these. >> Huh? >> I'm just putting the shelf on. >> Any needles or anything in there? >> No, sir. Right. >> Okay. Right now, you have four warrants for your arrest. >> Four. >> Four. Okay. >> Four. >> I had no idea. Okay. >> I'm here on the one. Okay. 470. And for you to appear on that. >> Okay. Okay. You understand what those charges are? >> Yeah. >> Okay. I was just at the court today. >> Okay. The court doesn't show any document that you were there. They do show that you were not there and they sent out a letter of forfeite to the bondsman. >> Okay. To ensure the closing of the bond, we have to come out here to arrest you and surrender you. Okay. That's why we're here. All right. So, and on top of that, failure to comply with the terms conditions of the bond. You did not notify the bondsman >> of your new home address. >> Okay. As far as we're concerned, you are a skip while you're in my vehicle. You will be secured. Okay. >> So, >> you're not going to have a problem with this. So, >> I understand. But for your protection and ours, we're going to secure you this way. All right. Sure. >> Okay. I know you don't want your hands behind your back the whole way and those cuffs are uncomfortable. So, I'm going to put a belly chain on you. Okay. >> Nothing's undone there. >> Thanks. I appreciate that. You're a gentleman. All right. Okay. There you go. You know, we uh catch we catch an individual. We get them off the street. We're doing everything at at it's taxfree. So, you know, um uh the citizens uh of St. Louis Abyispo are not spending one red penny for the apprehension of this individual. It's all private industry. We pick him up, we book him in. We're saving tax dollars. So, now we got him in custody. And here he is. So, let's go book the dude. Heat. Heat. [music] [music] Heat. Heat. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] [music] [music] Heat. Heat.
