Viewer discretion is advised. >> Now [music] stop [singing] bad some marijuana on the marijuana smoker up it. Cops is filmed on location with the men and women of law enforcement. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. I was a police officer for about 12 and a half years at the Colton Police Department, which is about uh 10 miles east of here. But I had a lot of friends who worked here at Fontana and told me about how great Fontana PD was, how much they loved working here. So I applied here at Fontana and got hired. Having so many friends and colleagues here made it a super easy transition for me to come to a brand new department. We're going to check this guy on a bike. He's uh riding around blacked out. This neighborhood has been getting hit pretty hard for vehicle burglary. So, go see what he's up to. Actually, I've got a subject taking off on a bike Laurel south of Merrill. South >> Hispanic male, black shirt, blue baseball hat. >> Hispanic male, black shirt, blue baseball hat. >> Passing hibiscus. >> Passing hibiscus. Westbound on a copy westbound [screaming] south the yards. >> STOP, PLEASE. GET ON THE GROUND. >> Get on the ground. >> PUT YOUR HANDS OUT. >> GET YOUR HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> PUT YOUR HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> Got one resisting in the backyard. Get your hand behind your back. Bring your other hand back. >> Go ahead. >> Bring your other hand back. >> Do you have any weapons on you? >> Yeah. No. >> Anything that's going to poke me or stick me? >> No. >> Was that a gun that you threw right there? >> No. >> No. Oh, I saw you throw it. [panting] What's your name? >> Andrew. >> Long time no see you, man. >> Bermudas. >> What's up? >> Haven't seen you since the colden days. [sighs] >> X-ray 7. I'm code for one in custody. And he tossed a gun. Looks like he tossed a gun right here. Are you on pro right now? >> Yeah, I do. >> Yeah. Just have a seat right here. Who are you on pro for right now? >> Assault, I think. >> Assault? >> Yeah. [sighs and panting] [gasps] >> Why you running, man? >> Can you, man? >> Do you want to get caught with the gun? >> I saw you toss it right there. You know what I'm saying? It is what it is. >> What's up, can't fix this? >> What do you mean, [panting] dude? You're not as fast as you used to be, bro. You used to be damn fast. >> I was tired from that damn bike right now. >> I remember when you used to like run across like barbwire fences and stuff. [snorts] >> Damn, dude. >> You went on behind. We were like this. >> Copy that. Can you grab him real quick so I can grab his gun and stuff? >> Yeah. >> Get up. >> During the chase, I saw him toss his gun here and caught him as he uh ran around the corner. Looks like it's a little twoshot little uh small old little old piece of crap firearm, but this guy's on parole. He's a known documented gang member. So, looks like he's going to go to jail here for a felon with a firearm. >> He got this, too. It is had some extra ammo and stuff in it, it too. >> Oh, on him. >> His waistband. Yeah. >> Awesome. Same caliber ammo. >> 38. >> Yeah, looks like it. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, this is an older firearm, like a Daringer style, and like might be having a little bit of mechanical difficulties here. So, we're going to load [snorts] it up, make it safe in this thing here. There's a little holster he had. He had a little holster with some extra ammo with him. [snorts] Um, who knows what his mission was for tonight, but uh we're going to secure the back of the car here so we can take it over to our range at the station and, you know, safely clear it so no one gets hurt with this thing. Copy. I was on it was challen cuz I'm pretty fast. You know what I'm saying? But tonight I was tired from that damn bike so fast. >> Yeah, you chose right by not using that thing though. Man, >> I didn't have it for that kind of You know what I'm saying? Like I was just um going to >> So this is the guy who ran from you guys a couple weeks ago over at the house where all the tweakers are staying at. Yeah. >> Okay. You got some information that was possibly a guy named Frost? >> Yeah. >> Cool. And this is him >> and the info was that he had a gun on. Cool. Awesome. Sound like the info panned out. >> Hey, Frost. >> Hey, real quick, man. Um, obviously you know the drill. You've been through this a lot of times. You and I known each other quite, you know, quite a few times. Um, what happened, bro? Why didn't you just stop when I tried to stop you? >> Cuz I was kind of gone pro and I didn't want to stop, you know what I'm saying? Right. >> I, um, >> nothing personal like that, but uh, >> yeah, for sure. Um yeah, I just saying I usually I'm usually pretty pretty fast. You know what I'm saying? So I usually get away. But uh I guess not today. I was that bike ride tired. [laughter] >> Yeah, you were moving pretty good on the bike. I mean obviously you know what it is. Excon with the gun. You know the rule. You know what I'm saying? So um >> make better choices next time. >> I know. I know. >> You know you don't want to get yourself hurt. Don't you know? Obvious one of us don't want to get hurt. >> So what's going to be my charges besides a gun? Just >> fell with a firearm and whatever. You got to deal with your parole. All right, cool. Thank you. Cool. All right. >> Hey, my Sorry, my bad. You know, it's nothing personal. You say >> I don't understand. I don't see it as personal. So, all right. We'll see you back at the station. All right. >> Sorry. So, you were able to get it open. >> Yeah. So, this is a release right here. >> Okay. >> There's light primer strikes. >> Okay. >> So, this somebody attempted to fire this at some point, but they didn't go off. >> Okay. Fortunate for that person. Wow. That's pretty crazy. Found with a gun. Who knows what his intentions were tonight. I'm born and raised here in Lee County, Florida. Went to Lee County Sheriff's Office for just under two years. I'm fortunate that Lee County in Southwest Florida has some of the premier fishing spots in the entire world. So, you could say I'm lucky. I get to do the job I love on the water. >> Standing by. >> We're going to a disturbance right now between a a man and a woman. The woman is stating that the husband is getting a little little crazy, but then she said that he got a little crazy and started hitting himself. So, we'll see what's really going on. >> Hey man, how's it going? >> Brother, >> you're not the one who called? >> Well, she called, but she's trying to make it sound like I was doing. And I mean, >> do you want me to have an ambulance come and check you out? >> No, I'm good, man. >> You You sure? >> Yeah. I mean, she was trying to say that I beat myself up, but look at my not I didn't do anything, man. >> I didn't do anything to myself. >> You ain't got nothing on your >> She was hitting me and I pushed her just to get away and then I came outside. >> Well, what were we all arguing about? >> I some girl that's been like two months ago. >> You can cancel the control. It's been like two months now and I guess you talked to her and the girl's been saying like, "Well, we did this and we did that and and this girl is a junkie and she's in New York now and she's just starting to trying to start problems and obviously it started problems, >> right? So, she's just bringing up the past right now. >> Yeah. And she jumped on my ass and I just tried to push her and she did fall into the TV, but I just wanted to get outside. You know what I'm saying? >> Okay. When I talk to her, she's going to somewhat tell me. >> She got I'm telling you right now, she ain't got no marks on her cuz I just pushed away just to get the hell outside and I came over here with my neighbor and I've been sitting here ever since. >> Is your neighbor still here or? >> Yeah, he's he's sitting he's inside. >> He's inside. Okay. You live here with her? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do me a favor. Go ahead and just go over to my front bumper. Okay. >> Hey, Kelly, tell me what's going on tonight. >> He's been cheating. >> You found him cheating? >> Yeah. >> How'd you find out? Did Was there like a text message? The girl called me. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> And [laughter] then um I took a Valentine card that I got him that was supposed to be really special. >> Okay. >> And I ripped it up and I said, "This means nothing." And he got up and he took like here and he shoved me into the TV [gasps] and it and it broke the teeth. >> And you were pushed into it. >> Yeah. And right as soon as I said, "I'm calling 911." He had his fist and he was going back and forth. and show me your your knuckles. You don't have any marks or anything on them? >> No. >> Okay. There's no one else here to witness any of that? >> No. >> Well, we got to get down to the bottom of it. He's He's bleeding. >> I didn't do that. He did that to himself. >> Someone did and he's saying that you did it. >> I did not. >> So, we have to get down to the bottom of it. You know, in Florida there's domestic violence is taken very very seriously. >> I understand. And I didn't do it. >> So, you're the one that called me here and since I'm here, I have to investigate. Okay. >> I wouldn't have called you if I hit him. Fair enough. Most people don't want to get themselves in trouble. >> Well, let me go talk to him. We'll find out what's going on. Okay. >> Hey, Brian. You doing okay? >> I'm all right. >> Okay. Yeah, man. This is a a little puzzling. You're telling me one thing. Now, she's telling me something somewhat different. She's saying you were hitting yourself. >> Oh, >> now. Now, let me let me be honest with you, okay? If you're saying she hit you and we have evidence of her hitting you, I'm gonna have to take her to jail under Florida domestic violence, based off what you're gonna tell me right now is going to determine what's gonna happen. Okay? So, I want you to be aware. >> Okay? I'm trying to help you out right now. >> No, I understand. >> So, if something different happened now, >> that's what happened, but I don't want to go to jail. >> Go ahead and wait right there. >> Hey, Kelly. >> Okay. >> Go and put your hands on your back. >> Turn around. >> Wait. Turn around. Or I don't >> Yes. Turn around. Put your hands on your back. I didn't know which way you were talking about. Sorry. >> Okay. >> What's going to happen is you're going to go to jail tonight and you're going to be charged with battery. Just simple battery, but it's going to be domestic violence. So, there's going to be an injunction put in place. Okay. >> I didn't punch anybody in the face. Oh my god. >> Come out here with me. Okay. >> Can't believe he keeps getting deleted. >> You have anything else on you or anything I need to know about? >> No. Okay. All right. >> Just go ahead and take a seat. Okay. I got you. Watch your head. Okay. >> You want to talk to her any any bit before >> I get her out of here? You'd like to? >> I just want to give you the opportunity to talk to her this one last time because it's not You two are not supposed to speak until the court case and everything is handled. Okay. Okay. >> Just go and walk over here. I'll open the door. Okay. Honey, when are you ever going to realize that all I want is you? >> You lied, Brian. She sent me all your text messages. >> 15 years I've been with you and you've been accusing me because your ex-husband around on you. 15 years you've been accusing me and you admitted it to me. I finally do it. I finally go out and do it. You said you were falling in love with her. I have text messages. I >> Whatever. All right. >> The only reason I even called was because her friend begged me to call her and find out what she was doing. >> The heroin. She's on heroin and she's doing crack and she's doing all kinds of I was just trying to make sure she was okay. >> Kelly, let's go. Let's not let's not berate her. Let's leave it as is. Okay. >> I love her to death. >> I understand. But she doesn't she doesn't want to talk anymore. Okay. >> So, we're going to end it at that. Okay. >> All right. >> Love is a strong thing. It puts people through a lot, but it can put people through a lot of negative things, too. >> I've been with the Fort Myers Police Department for approximately 2 years now. I enjoy working with the people that I work with every day and uh making sure that they make it home at the end of the day. But you also uh it's really rewarding getting out there and you get that one thank you a day from somebody in the community that really appreciates what you do. and uh it makes everything worth it helping those people out. Delta 600 173 Tarpon Street Pier. So, this car is uh parked at the end of the pier right now. It's way past hours. The park is closed. We're going to check out and see what they're doing up here. >> Hi, I'm Officer Carter Fort Myers Police Department. The reason I'm talking to you guys is because the park is closed. The park's closed. >> I didn't know that. >> Do you guys have your IDs on you? >> How y'all doing this morning? >> Good. How are you? >> Doing good. >> I didn't know we weren't allowed to be up here. >> You guys have anything illegal or anything like that in the car? >> No. >> Are you sure about that? >> Yeah. Why? >> Here's all your your stuff back. >> Okay. >> Um, do you mind if I search the car? >> You want to search the car? >> Why do you need to search the car? >> I'm asking you. >> All right. I mean, there's no weapons, but >> There's no weapons. But what? >> I'm just saying I don't know why you guys search the car. >> I'm asking you. It's not my car. >> Whose car is it? >> It's a friend of my cars. >> Grab the registration for me. >> It's yellow. >> It's yellow. That's what I thought. >> Shake. >> H. Yeah, I was going to tell you there's shake down there. >> It's not yellow. >> It's It's white. >> It's white, right? >> You smell it. Smell it. >> I see it. >> Well, then you see it. >> No. >> You see the reddish There's an ashtray in the top. That ashtray. >> All right. Do me a favor, ma'am. Step out of the car for me. >> Step to the back of the Step to right here for me. Do you have anything on you? >> Can I get my jacket? >> Yeah, I'll I'll let I'll let you get in a second. Do you have anything on you? No, >> I don't. >> All right. Turn around. Face the car for me. >> I saw marijuana shake on the ground. So, I'm going to search the car. See if I can't find anything else. Oh, there's some marijuana. >> There's marijuana in this cup right here. >> Decent amount of um marijuana. >> Hey, you could detain them. >> You know how long this [ __ ] is allowed on some damn handcuffs over a damn show? >> Well, this was crazy. >> Well, you have handcuffs on over the marijuana that's in the car. That's what you have handcuffs on for >> marijuana in the car. >> Yes. The driver of the car has prior for selling marijuana. Um, I mean, she's got a bag of marijuana here. She's got the scale that has the marijuana on it. And then she's got a little container that looks like it probably had some broken down marijuana in it. Plus, she's got all these baggies here. >> So, uh, I'm going to talk to both of them and see what they have to say. I found some marijuana in the car. Is that yours? >> I mean, if she going to go to jail for it, I'll take it. >> I don't know what the is in that car, but I don't want to see the girl go to jail, man. >> So, you don't you don't know what's in there? >> I don't know what's in that car, but I don't want to I don't know what's in that. She just picked me up, man. >> Did you see any marijuana or anything like that in the car when you got in? >> I smoke marijuana all the time, but I ain't see no marijuana. >> But you didn't see any in the car, so you didn't know there was any in there? >> All right. >> I'm just keeping it honest with you. No, I I appreciate that 100%. All right, just hang tight for me and I'll let you know what's going on. All right, >> you got it. What's your name again? >> Officer Carter. >> Thank you, Officer. >> No problem. Hang tight. >> All right, here's the deal. You're going to go to jail tonight. All right. For the possession of the the marijuana, the possession of the scale that has the marijuana on it. All right. He's saying that he would take it for you, but he didn't know that it was in the car, so it's it's not on him. and he said he was going to take the charges, but what happened? >> If he doesn't know what's in the car, I'm not going to take him to jail for it. It's your car. All of your possessions are in the car. So, at this point, you're going to go to jail. It's a misdemeanor charge. But be aware, I know what you're doing out here. I know that you don't just have all kinds of baggies in a scale and that amount of marijuana for personal use. >> There's bags in the car. >> Yes. Come on now. >> I don't know what's in the car. I don't know what's in the car. It's not my car. I've already said that. It's not my car. And there was somebody obviously riding with me, but I'm not saying that anything is his either. So, just can I just make sure that I have my wallet with you? >> I'll make sure that you have all your stuff. >> I can't bond out of jail. >> I'll make sure I'll make sure that you have all your stuff, your wallet, your your um your phone and everything like that. All right. >> So, he's not even going to jail either. So, >> no. Unfortunately, you're going to take the ride tonight. All right. >> So, can you tell him to keep his phone on from whatever so I can talk? >> All right. Hang tight. Okay. I'll go to jail for that girl right now, man. >> She knows that. I told her that already. >> I go to jail for that girl right now. And it's not because I'm in love with her, but because I don't want to see her go to jail. >> All right, man. She wants to talk to you. So, let's let's go over there and talk to her real quick. >> You don't want to tell the people that's not? >> Why would I snitch on you? >> I just don't want to go to jail after this whole situation. This is the strangest thing I've ever seen in my life. Bro, >> what do you mean? We're >> for us to be right here at this particular time. I know, Ellie. I know. >> If I say any I'm just saying. So, what I'm supposed to say is >> Oh, what? >> It's just a situation. That's all I'm saying. >> No, it's not. Listen, don't worry about it. It's okay. >> I do this. I told you that. >> No. All you don't >> I've been going to jail for years, >> bro. >> Trying to get it right, but you know, it takes time. I'm going to stop talking cuz this is crazy. >> All right. Unfortunately, you're going to get the ride tonight. All right. >> He's going to get his stuff out either. I I'll make sure that you get the the number so that you have a number to call though. All right. >> Yes. >> Hang tight. >> And I'm not coming back to the park after hours. >> All right. >> What else you found in the car again? If you don't mind telling me one more time. >> All right. Yeah. We found some some weed. You can go. We We found some weed. 13 grams about um we found >> Did MORGAN MORGAN JUST PASS A LAW? [laughter] >> UNFORTUNATELY, we found weed. So, all right. >> All this get back to I'm going have a long walk. >> Have a good night, sir. All right. >> 132 and bush. I've got him at gunpoint. >> Okay. 132 bush cover 47. 108 47 43. Okay.
