Look, by now y'all should know when y'all see me in my scrubs, it's going to be some mess. So, y'all just bear with me for a minute. Um, here's a list of things that I've had to endure within the past two months as a black man working in healthcare. >> Welcome to We're in the group chat. So many people on TikTok share their stories publicly. Sometimes we didn't want to be in the group chat and sometimes we're like, "Okay, tell us more." With this particular one, a young CNA named DLo came across my FYP. I found his first story engaging, so I went to go look at more. Now sharing a couple with y'all. His account will be linked in the description box if you want to go find him and watch as he posts more stories. >> Look, by now y'all should know when y'all see me in my scrubs, it's gonna be some mess. So y'all just bear with me for a minute. Um, here's a list of things that I've had to endure within the past 2 months as a black man working in healthcare. First on the list, we got white female coworker says the n-word while having a conversation on the phone with her friends. Mind you, right after I told Shorty that she was tripping and that she's gotten way too comfortable, she responded with, "Look, I know I'm a white girl, but I got the pass." And yes, before y'all ask, the baby daddy is black. Next on the list, we have coworker squirted me in the face with an unknown substance, then laughed at me hysterically. Now, being that this coworker was a female, I couldn't do nothing else but call her everything but a child of God. I know that wasn't the right thing to do in the moment. I did let my anger get the best of me. I repented later on that day. I also left that shift 3 and 1/2 hours earlier than I should have. When I got back to the crib, I called that facility and told them to cancel the rest of the shifts I had booked for the rest of that month. The money ain't never worth my dignity. I ain't been back since. Next on the list, we have non-verbal resident threatening to kill me because I'm black. And yes, that man can't speak whatsoever. And I know what y'all thinking. Do if he can't talk, how did he threaten to kill you? Well, when I walked into his room because he needed to be changed, he looked at me and got the tweaking on me. Started to pretend to punch himself in the face. I said, "Oh, you want to hit me?" He responded with I said, "What did I do?" He responded with I said, "Oh, it's because I'm black." And then he responded with then he followed that up with pretending to choke himself while shaking his whole body. I said, "Oh, you want to hang me?" I mean, that's true commitment right there. Because even when your body is in its worst state of condition, you can't walk, can't talk, can't even wipe your own behind, you can still communicate the fact that you hate black people for no reason. And finally, to conclude this list, we have sexually harassed by a female resident. Now, mind you, when I first walked into that lady's room, and I was greeted with a, "Ooh, I knew it was going to be some mess. She said she needed to be changed." I go to undo the brief and I was greeted by a hard hip thrust. Then she followed up the hip thrust by saying, "I want to give it to you, man. whatever you're giving out, I don't want." And then she followed that up by saying, "I want something big and black." I tossed her the remote and I walked out of that room. The spirit of Jezebel has no age limit. With that being said, I don't plan on being in the healthcare field much longer, but until then, y'all stay tuned for more work updates. >> Okay, DLO does unload a lot of information in a very short period of time. We went through the gambit really quickly. I'm going to go ahead and just give you the other story. Uh, DLO, praying for you. First and foremost, I just want to thank you all for the love and support y'all been showing in the comment section of the video I posted about a week ago concerning my job. I appreciate all the words of encouragement and all the blessings y'all been sending my way. But with that being said, let's just discuss a few things. Now, for the people who are commenting something on the lines of this, you're 100% correct. A lot of these healthcare workers are not fit for this line of work. They're terrible at their job. They're in it for the wrong reasons. Some of them do the bare minimum. Some of them do below the bare minimum. And I ain't know that was possible. Some of them don't even show up to work. Some of them show up for like 5 minutes and then leave right after because they decide they don't want to be there for real and it just sucks and it's not fair to the people that they're supposed to be taking care of. Now, with that being said, when I make these CNA videos talking about my personal experience as a healthcare worker, I'm speaking for me and me only. I'm not speaking for any other healthcare worker out there, let alone the majority. And I'm not speaking for any other facility out there because I don't work there. I'm speaking for DLO. And let me make it clear, the videos I post on here are for entertainment purposes only. It's meant to be relatable and funny. It's not meant to be taken to heart. It's meant to put a smile on your face and make you laugh a little bit. Especially my fellow healthcare workers cuz I know y'all can relate to a lot of the things I talk about. >> I know at times it seems like I'm complaining about my job and I put air quotes around complaining because I do it jokingly. But in reality, if I really didn't want to do this job, I wouldn't do it. >> I knew what came with being a CNA before I took the position, but I took it anyways cuz I enjoy helping people. >> Now, does that mean sometimes I don't wish papa was about 50 years younger and could walk so I can run the fade with him? No. But I still enjoy my job. And in all honesty, I don't even be all that mad when some family members come in and ask me questions concerning their relative. It's just when y'all be OD with it, I get a little irritated. And when I say OD, that means when I'm trying to check on other people and y'all stopping me every 5 seconds asking me to do something for your relative, I'mma get a little annoyed cuz I got 15 other patients to check on. Now, with all that being said, I appreciate every last one of y'all that's been showing love under my videos every time I upload. Make sure you go follow me on Instagram at Dlo on the Daily. Same thing as my Tik Tok. and go subscribe to my YouTube channel at DLO on the Daily as well because I have a lot of great content coming on all platforms. So y'all stay tuned. >> Although DLO kept it pretty light-hearted and funny, you can tell that obviously it does take a lot of patience to be a CNA. Not everyone should be a CNA. Um there's a lot of emotional weight that they're going to carry. There's little victories sometimes that they'll get throughout the day. Even if it was you just had to tell a coworker off. But let me know what you think about DL's stories. Thanks for hanging out with me. If you want to hype this video and subscribe, it really does support my channel and it encourages me to bring y'all more stories.
