suffers from mental illness
and was having a very bad day
the officers were not aware of this
man's mental state when they were
dispatched on the run
they were dispatched a call about a
person with a gun who was acting strange
and possibly holding somebody hostage
i have someone who is

like really freaking out and he has a
gun on him and he's saying that people
are gonna kill him
and he has my friend in the room and he
won't let her out
this one is a bit chaotic the officers
arrived on scene and thought they were
dealing with someone who was
abusing illegal narcotics
after a long and thorough investigation
they found no evidence whatsoever that
narcotics were involved
and this man was taken to a hospital for
treatment
one thing that's worth noting with this
particular video
is that the three officers who were
first on scene
were each out of a recent academy class
and had only a few months on the street
prior to this interaction
