on September 25th 2019 a trooper with a Louisiana State Police Troop L observed a vehicle committed traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle the trooper then make contact with the driver 25y old Kenny Santos Pano and tells him the reason for the stop you see your hands my friend put your hands up how are you okay listen to me you can't you understand English okay you don't you're too close to that white line yeah because you on the right negative get off on the shoulder a little bit okay it's safe so get off to the shoulder drive up like turn your wheel get off to the shoulder and then just step to the rear and talk to me for a minute okay move over move your car over [Applause] [Applause] Hey sir step back here and talk to [Applause] me no no you come up here my friend come up here how are you good I'm Charlie d man I work for the state police uh where you from I'm Florida where yeah but what like where you from like like uh Puerto Rico Puerto Rico okay all right you have a driver's license my friend I'm sorry why why is your th me well I I'm going to tell you when I was when you were coming up on me back while I was pared yeah I giveing you space yeah want to ref my car because I don't do listen we're not going to search your car we're not searching your car but we all going to make sure we say turn around put your hands on the car I'm going pat going to do we're going to we have the we have the right to do a sniff around your vehicle with a dog if the dog alerts to your vehicle then we can search it but if they don't alert then you free to no Kenny became agitated once he realized that the troopers were about to search his vehicle yeah okay his dog sniff something on that car it's a rental car it could be something old we don't know but we're going to look okay so I'm letting you know that all right I don't know how else to explain it to you my friend I'm going to search the car now well why because the dog sniffed something on that car nah D they said no no he said yes n now he man that's no [Applause] settle down you say that because they don't know how that doesn't matter you that's listen we're going to talk listen to me no that if there's nothing in that car the main Trooper body camera briefly goes off after the trooper bumps into Kenny following the K9 alert another Trooper searched the vehicle and located two boxes in the backseat of the vehicle get get this got I got him [Applause] just want why do you think the dog h on I'm out with b85 contact stand by [Applause] narcotics my damn recorder went off when I pressed up against you're under arrest listen listen listen BR you you recording nothing no yeah we recorded it it recorded when I leaned against you it went off listen you have the right to remain silent anything you say can it will be used against you in the court of law you got a right to speak to an attorney and have him present with you while you'll be in questioned if you cannot afford to hire an attorney won't be appointed to represent you before in question if you wish you could decide at anytime to exercise these rights and not answer any questions you understand your rights okay [Applause] that hasn't been touched [Applause] this both boxes contain several brick likee packages and Kenny was placed under arrest the brick-like packages were later determined to be 8.5 kg of Kenny was arrested for possession with the intent to the scri co and sent to the St Tam Paris jail Ken was sentenced to 51 months in federal prison [Music]
