Here's the lady that >> All right, cool. >> Hello, ma'am. >> Following me, he chased me across traffic. >> Okay. It's probably cuz maybe you had stuff that didn't belong to you. >> He's accusing me of that. No, I didn't do anything wrong. >> Okay. >> He said, "So, if nothing pass you and I said that's fine. You can trespass me." >> Okay. >> I said, "I've been walking today. Did you want to talk with me outside just so we're not in middle of a doctor's office? >> Yeah. >> I called my husband because he would not stop following me. Like he he like chased me all the way across the street. I had to like run through oncoming traffic to try to get away from him. >> Understood. Yeah. So we're we'll make it right. Whatever is going on. Um, first and foremost, so I like to uh stay safe and so he the guy who is following you, he called us. Um, and then I guess did you also call us as well? >> Yeah, I don't know if I didn't get routed to the right place or what. It >> it did come through. >> I hung up when I got in here. The lady let me in here and she said she would call the police and I said, "Okay." And they said I could sit down. >> Yeah. So it did come through. >> Hello. Hey, are you here? >> Negative. I'm out with a female. Uh, loss prevention is going to be at Firestone. >> Um, going to try to recover some property from over there. So, we'll need someone to meet the LP guy at Firestone and then go to Kohl's as well. >> Hello. >> Can Can you please come pick me up? >> All right. Um, so first and foremost, I just want to make sure everyone's safe. Um, >> yes. There was escort me. Can you escort me away from here? So where he can't follow me anymore? >> So he is not here. So he was here and he's over at Firestone now. Firestone. >> Um because I guess that's where you were and um it was believed that maybe some property that was in your bag might be in there. >> I don't have any. >> Um so that um so there was mention that you mentioned to him that you're armed and maybe that's just because you were scared. Um, so >> it was because I'm scared. I do I can I had you >> I don't want to go reach into my back or something. I can take it off. I can hand it to you if that makes you more comfortable. I can take my jacket off and hand it to you. >> Okay. Now, do you have any weapons? Currently, >> I don't. Okay. Um, >> I said that because I was terrified. And obviously, he didn't care cuz he kept following me. >> Yeah. Understood. Um, would I be able to search your bag and make sure? >> Yeah. >> Check for any stolen items. You want to look here and I can pull this out so you can see my concealed permit. >> Well, um, do you have the weapon on you? No. Then I'm not too concerned. Here. Um, here. We'll wait by my car. It's a nice safe area here. So, I've I I know him. >> Um, because he works at Kohl's and >> creepy. >> Who chases a woman? Like, I had several old men ask me if I needed help. I had people like, >> um, so let's start with the bag thing. So, uh, you said no weapons and no stolen property in your bag or anything like that? >> Nope. >> Okay. Is Is it okay if I search it and make sure? >> Yeah. >> In your jacket. >> 218. >> Thank you. As soon as uh it's determined whether a crime was or was not committed. Um I I will >> I don't commit a crime. >> Well, we're going to find out. >> I don't have anything on me. I don't I did not commit a crime. >> Okay. So, I'm just saying that because that guy's accusing you of it. >> Yeah, I know. But I don't have anything on me. I I did not I did not steal anything from >> So So we're going to check the cameras at Kohl's and if it's determined that you did, then I will get your ID. That's how that works. Okay. >> Okay. So I can leave in the meantime. >> Nope. You're detained. Not allowed to leave. If you try to leave, you'd be arrested. >> How can you detain me when I haven't committed a crime? >> Because someone >> I'm accusing him of a crime and you're not detaining him. >> One second. getting a phone call. >> Hey, >> are you done? >> No. It's possible. Um, but go to a Firestone. So, we we first have to confirm whether a crime was committed or not. The bag that she had uh was full of stuff before she went to Firestone. >> Upon leaving Firestone, it's empty. So, it's believed that items were discarded inside of Firestone's bathroom. So, go over there. um take pictures of the bathroom. Um just take pictures whether there's stuff in there or not. Um recover the property if any. Then we got to go back to Kohl's watch surveillance. Go from there. >> So at the end of the day, loss prevention um accusing her of stealing >> and then >> like someone in plain clothes chasing me. I didn't. No crime is committed. You have no proof. You have no right to detain me. >> Yes, I do. You do. So, you're not leaving. If you leave, you're going to go to jail right now. So, you're staying right here. >> That's That's not true. >> That's how it works. >> I already explained that to you, right? >> I know my rights and I have not done anything wrong. You cannot detain me. >> Yeah. Someone accused you of a crime. >> I'm accusing him of a crime and you're not detaining him. >> So, he's Cole security. >> It doesn't matter who he is. You cannot harass people. You cannot put your hands on people. You cannot chase people. I'm a female. We are not holding court in the streets right here. Okay, this is how it's going to work. You're going to stay here >> till we figure out what's going on. >> You know that that's illegal. >> So, >> okay, I'm not going to argue with you. >> It's illegal. >> I have not done anything wrong. >> Put your Put this down. You're not putting this back on and you're not leaving. >> Yes, I am. Let go of my stuff. >> Because I didn't do Listen, I'm cold. I'm not trying to leave. >> Let go. Let go of the jacket. Let go of the jacket. Go the jacket. >> There's no >> You have no right to leave right now and you're not leaving. So, you're being detained until we figure out what's going on. >> Oh my god. >> Oh my god. I know my rights. You guys are going to be in so much trouble. >> Okay. Well, you're being detained. >> Can you please let go? How far am I going to get with cuffs on? >> I don't know. >> Calm down. >> Let go of me. >> Calm down. >> You're the one who got uncal and it's on you. Is your body camera on? I was trying to put my jacket on. >> I wanted my stuff back. He searched my jacket. He searched my purse. Listen, >> I I understand. So, >> you searched my jacket. You searched my purse. It's windy. I wanted my jacket back on. That's it. You're the one who got violent >> cuz you're trying to leave the scene. >> I'm not trying to leave. You just told me you were leaving and you were putting your jacket on and walking away. What are you talking about? >> Okay. Okay. I understand. I understand. Thank you. >> So, ma'am, what we're going to do, I'm going to have you sit on this bench and then once we're And then we're going to play the waiting game. >> Can you please take these off of me? >> No. >> They're hurting. >> They're not meant for comfort. And >> I didn't do anything wrong. >> They're hurting me. I have >> So, how about this? How about you work with us cuz we're being nice to you and >> you're trying to escalate the situation. >> But if we can all agree to be nice, I will you take it down a notch. Let us let us figure out yelled at you. >> I didn't say actually you did, but that's irrelevant to right now cuz it's not a big deal. But let us figure out our job and figure out what's going on here. And if nothing happened, you'll be on your way. >> And then you're going to be sued for doing this. >> You do what you need to do. >> Yeah, because I know you're illegally holding me for now. >> All right, let's go sit over here on this bench. >> Let's come sit over on this bench. >> I would like my property. Please >> come sit over on this bench. >> Can you please put the property on? >> Do you want to sit on the bench or in the car? No, I want to sit on the bench. Let's come sit on the bench stuff. >> Purse like Sephora and everything. >> So, she was at Sephora. >> Yeah, there's a Sephora inside of Kohl's. I was watching the cameras. I saw that she had a bag like underneath her jacket, which I thought was strange. I started to watch her on cameras and I saw that she would select items off the shelves, put them into the bag. The bag was getting bigger and then eventually she exited the store without paying. I confronted her. I said, "Hey, I'm lost with Kohl's. I'd like you to, you know, give me my stuff back." She feigned ignorance. I don't know what you're talking about, man. get away from me. I don't have nothing. I said, why don't you just give me the stuff back? We'll trespass you. You know, you'll be on your way. She said, I don't have anything. Get away from me. And then she she ran from Kohl's over this way. She went into Firestone here and her bag was very full at that time. >> Um matter of fact, that's that's what I have on video here of here. You can see her bag is so so full. >> And then when when she came out of the bathroom there, I didn't follow her into the bathroom. I just waited, you know, and then when she came out, her bag was flat like a pancake. >> And so obviously I knew something's got to be going on in the bathroom. >> Is that stuff you recovered from there? >> Correct. Correct. So, she ran a millennium. She was detained or hell whatever's going on over there. >> So, you you already you already moved the stuff over there, right? >> I Huh. >> You already removed the stuff, right? >> No. No. This bag is just as is as I found it. >> Okay. >> I didn't do nothing with it yet. I just came outside. That way we don't disrupt. I didn't want to disrupt their business. >> Okay. Oh, they >> I didn't go through this yet, but I know I just took a peek and I seen a couple things of coals like that. So, I know I know what's in there. >> You want um since you have gloves, do you mind pulling them out? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Let me just save this real quick. All right. >> Take a picture. Whatever. >> This is a trash bag. Okay. >> Do you know? Well, you have to take it for yourself. So, >> yeah. I mean, I'll upload that for you guys, too. Send me like an ax on or whatever. >> Yep. >> And then So, I'm going to need to get a statement from you. >> I threw that out earlier. >> I'm going to get a garbage so we don't stuff. That bag was thick when she came in. She went right to our trash to our restaurant. >> And he's seen it, too. He said he's want to give a statement. >> Okay. Do you have um cameras? >> No. >> No. Okay. >> It's my eyeballs. >> My eyes and the other guy's eyes. It's in the bank right now. That's crazy. >> Yeah. >> All right. >> So, roughly how much item How much forth do you think we have here? >> I would say this is probably around like $200, $300. >> Okay. >> It's going to be a misdemeanor. Have you seen this uh lady? >> I never seen her before. Now, >> this is karma for not taking cold bucks on Under Armour stuff. >> This is She's All right. >> Every time I order I buy a bunch of crap, I'll get the gold buck. I can't use armor. >> Oh, yeah. I know. >> The items are recovered. Instead of roughly $200 or $300, >> you agreed that if I would take off >> Okay, cool. Take pictures of it. >> Um he's going to we're going to go back to Kohl's and get the receipt and stuff. Okay, sounds good. So, take pictures of what you have of the stolen merchandise. Um, and then allow him to collect it. That way, we don't have to do a photo release. >> Um, >> he he brought the trash bag from the Firestone bathroom outside. I'm just going to take a picture of it all together and then um he's going to take it back and then give me a receipt. >> Okay. >> And the statement. Okay. >> Sounds good. >> Okay. Bye. >> Bye. >> Bye. >> All right. All right. So, I'm going to read you your rights now. >> I didn't do anything. >> And I'm going to take your ID out. >> I didn't do anything. >> That's how that works. >> I didn't I did not steal anything. I don't have anything on me. This is illegal. >> Yoink. >> This is illegal. >> No, it's not. >> Yes, it is. And And if you don't I'm not surprised you don't know it because a lot of officers don't understand the law. Wow. >> Oh, >> why you you still live in Fort Myers? >> Okay. Well, >> you're you >> This is what happens. This is what happens when you come to Charlotte County and commit crimes. >> You have no right. I did not do anything wrong. I do not have any stolen property on me. >> Yeah. It's not on you because you but still cold. All right. Well, camera footage and >> I didn't do anything wrong. is probably going to say otherwise. So, >> I didn't do anything wrong. Okay. And you can't hold me. You can't >> I'll keep you company. Let him do what he's got to do. >> You can't arrest me based on a crime I didn't commit. >> Okay. >> I'm not calling anybody. He knows what's going on. >> Can you please press it? Can you please >> No, we're done with that. You checked your >> I just got an alarm that it's getting higher. >> Okay. So, we're going to call EMS then to check you out. >> I don't need EMS. >> So, which scroll that way? >> Okay. >> That one with the leaf looking thing that says on the on your >> Sorry, I'll let you do it. >> But we just don't allow people to call people for our safety, right? >> That's why I explained to him what I was doing. >> Yeah. >> What does that mean? >> It It means I'm But that's okay. >> Okay. So, go ahead and call EMS. >> No, I do not want EMS. I'm not paying for EMS. I don't want EMS. >> We don't say you have to pay for it if you want to. >> I'm not getting service by them. >> I'm not paying for EMS. I don't need it. I needed to >> stay aware. I let him know. I told him he could even pick up my sleeve and verify that I had a sensor on and everything. >> All right. Well, they're going to check you out regardless. You can refuse the treatment. >> Um I'm going to do Are you good with hang out? >> Yeah, absolutely. >> Um so I'm just going to fill out a trespass in the meantime. Okay. >> Um and I guess one thing I'll take care of now. Uh I'm just going to read your rights. It's just what we have to do before >> and you said when you're in handcuffs, if I want to ask you any questions um regarding >> why you're in handcuffs, right? The whole reason we're here and what he's accusing you of. Um I just have to read your rights, right? Make sense? >> So you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say could be used against you in court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer. If you're questioning if you have one point before you question any question to stop answering any time until you have to do stand each of these rights I explained to you. >> Yes. >> Okay. Um but the whole reason for EMS Yeah. I'm not saying you have to go to the hospital or anything like that. It's just >> you want to cover your >> right. Exactly. So that's where we're at. >> 218. >> Okay. Prior to taking the statement, I'm going to place her under oath. Please raise your right hand. Um All right. Do you swear and affirm that the statement you're about to give is the whole truth and nothing but the whole truth? Yes. >> Go ahead. Say, >> so on today's date, which is March 4th, 2025, I was on duty as the loss prevention supervisor for Kohl's department store number 129 located at 19600 Cochran Boulevard, Port Charlotte, Florida. Um, while I was walking the sales floor here in Florida, I noticed a middle-aged white female wearing a green coat, short denim shorts, and light colored shoes. I noticed that she had a large bag beneath her jacket in what I would describe as hidden because I could really only see like a bottom glimpse of the bag, but I could see that it was pretty full and there was it was definitely under there. Uh, so I was suspicious of that. So, I came back to the LP office where I reviewed closed circuit television surveillance uh CCTV and so when I rewound the CCTV, I was able to confirm that she entered the door. She entered this door via the Mrs. stores at 9:20 a.m. at which point she proceeded directly to Sephora >> 928 or sorry >> uh 9:20 a.m. >> Mhm. Okay. >> Um 920. And then so when she came into the store at via the Mrs. doors at 9:20 a.m. she proceeded directly to Sephora where she immediately selected several items off the shelves and she concealed them under her jacket into the bag and then she would pull her jacket closed to further hide the bag from plain view. Um she continued that behavior of walking around Sephora selecting merchandise from the shelves and then concealing it into her bag on camera. I approached her identified myself as loss prevention. I was on the phone with dispatch at that point. So that's probably, you know, a recorded thing. Um, but anyways, I identified myself as Cole's loss prevention. I asked for the merchandise back. She said, "No, I don't have any merchandise back." >> I asked her again, you know, I would like the stuff back. It's in the bag beneath your jacket. I know you have Sephora stuff. I watched you on camera. I'm a representative of the store. I need my stuff back. I need you to come back, trespass you. Um, she refused. She was uncooperative and she ran with the merchandise in the bag under her jacket to Firestone and she went well she was kind of causing a scene when she went in. She pretty much was saying to the men up front uh help me. I'm like just a victim and this guy is like a stalker or something. So anyways, she ran into the bathroom and I explained the situation to them and when she came out of the bathroom her bag was now flat like a pancake. when, as I said, when she went in before she went into the bathroom, her bag was bulging full. Um, I had video of that on my personal cell phone as well as on the, you know, the CCTV. Um, and then when she came out of the bathroom, her bag was very flat as attested to as well by the manager of Firestone, uh, Ron. Um, he he, you know, when we were outside collecting the merchandise, that's what he stated to you, too, was that he saw himself. Um, the fact that it was full and then flat. So anyway, she ran across the Millennium Healthcare, I suppose it is, also on Coen Boulevard. And then >> she started I was not I didn't never touch her and I never really even got close to her. I was just like following her like from a distance while on the phone with the police. She clearly knew who I was. She knew why I was approaching her. Um but she attempted to basically reverse the roles or cause some sort of pan. She tried to like incite a panic by screaming at the top of her lungs in front of Millennium in a crowded area. She started to go, "Help! This guy is a stalker. Uh, I need police." And then so, as I said, it caused a little bit of a panic where Millennium, you know, they took her in and we we'll we'll keep you safe from, you know, the domestic violence or whatever sort of, you know, craziness is going on. You poor little thing. Um, you know, I was I again, I didn't I didn't even enter the facility. I stand outside as to not like further escalate that. And I communicated to like the manager, whoever, you know, represented them that, you know, my role and what was going on and that I showed them I was on the phone with the police. So I tried to like deescalate it as much as possible. >> What? What's wrong? >> Plan of high uh blood sugar, which is >> why she is here >> for aft. She stole a bunch of items from Kohl's and Home Depot >> and she's >> So we just need to check her >> Yes. Because she's trying to fight with me over her phone. She has an app that monitors it and she says it's going to save her wife. So, >> she is she under arrest? >> Yes. >> Okay. You guys want her to go to the hospital if it's normal or no? >> Um, I don't believe so. I just just to be make sure she's okay. She doesn't even want EMS, you said. But >> fine. I don't need any medical attention. >> We're going to use ours and check. >> I don't need any medical I don't want medical attention. >> We're going to check your look. >> I don't want medical attention. I I want you to explain to him how the CGM works. They're not here to do that. I don't >> his body. >> Nicholas, will you go get my phone? >> Are you with her, sir? >> Okay. How do you know her? >> She's my wife. >> Okay. Well, right now, she's being detained for what's going on. >> For what? >> For theft. We'll explain everything to you. Where are you parked at? >> Uh, I got dropped off. >> Okay. Well, for now, I'm going to have you wait >> over there somewhere by the sign. Just wait from right here. >> Where's her phone? Cuz that depends. >> It's over there, but she can't have that right the second. >> I'm not You can You can You can have it before we leave. just we'll just finish up doing what you do. Okay. >> Yeah. >> So, if you wouldn't mind s either inside right now. >> Yeah. I just had them check her out. Um but I don't She thinks I'm trying to harm her or something like that. I'm not. I'm just trying to have her checked out. So, >> well, what is she doing to >> for theft here? >> No. >> From Kohl's and Home Depot. >> Home. >> So, I'm I'm Yeah, I'm just be frank with you, man. >> Yeah. >> Um I know I know it's hot out here. So, you want you rather rate inside or somewhere? No, I just want to make sure she's okay. >> Yeah, she's okay. All right. >> So, >> we'll be with you in a few minutes. Just if you don't mind hanging out over here. >> So, hold my phone and stand there. Make >> Can you Would you mind moving away? Cuz I don't I understand it's your wife, but >> I get it. She's not going to go anywhere without you knowing. I will I will be coming with you. Okay. >> Do you mind if I just grab your information real quick? Is that cool? >> So that way I can if I have to call you or something, I can give you your phone. >> Yeah. >> All right. So, did the other deputy already kind of give you the rundown of what's going on? I guess >> he said something about a theft from Home Depot and Kohl's. >> Yeah. So, well, it turns out Home Depot was totally unrelated. There was something else going on at Home Depot next door to Kohl's. Um, but we it took us a while to verify that it was two separate things going on at the same time. Um, but basically Kohl's loss prevention solar ceiling stuff. >> Did you leave the store with stuff? Yeah. Um, >> did she have it on her or out here? I guess >> uh they I guess she went to Firestone. Um, he he like followed her to Firestone and she left it there and um so from here um anytime like did does she have a criminal record? Do you know? >> Not that I know. >> Okay. So, as long as um there's no big extensive criminal record or anything like that, um we may be able to just have her uh sign her up for what's called an adult pre-arrest diversion program. That's our plan. Um >> your husband. >> Yeah. >> Uh sugar checks out blood blood pressure. There's a 1636 for the sugar. Blood pressure was 126 over 68. So, everything checked out that. So, I don't know what they have or whatever. Is that reasonable like levels like normal sugar? >> Yeah, average. >> Sure. BP is a little elevated from whatever >> national average on sugar is from 60 to 120. She's one uh 160 at the highest, but I mean that's >> Thank you. >> That's completely range within there. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Y thanks. I appreciate it. >> Um so this adult pre-arrest diversion program, um as long as she qualifies for it, like she doesn't have a lengthy criminal history, um then it's just like community service type stuff. Sure. >> Yep. Um >> does that mean she goes home today? >> If if that's what happens, yes. Um but if just say it turns out she's not eligible for that, um she would basically take a trip to Panagora with us and then bond out. Yeah. So it chances are she'll be home today regardless, but um I I don't know for sure yet until we figure that out. uh what sort of things would disqualify her from the program? >> So, any felony arrest? Um and then if she's been signed up for the program. Um trying to think what else would um are you guys from Fort Myers? >> Uh yeah. I mean, we live there right now. >> Okay. I believe I think it includes as long as you live in surrounding counties. So, I think I would have to verify that. Um No, it's okay. Um I would just have to verify that. Um, and so yeah, but we'll we'll let you know if you just want to hang out and we'll uh we'll keep you informed and um >> I want I mean I don't want her to be alone here with a bunch of men. >> Yeah. Yeah. She's got >> anxiety issues or >> just history I understand. Um, and yeah, so you're welcome to stay. Just if we have to uh put her in the car, obviously don't try to uh stop anything. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, I just don't want to because I know emotions get high and you know, stuff like that. But >> where to the Charlotte County Jail or the Justice Center? >> Uh, it would be the Charlotte County Jail if if that's what it comes to. Um, but so that's worst case scenario. Best case scenario is the APAD thing. Community service deal. [Music] >> Uh, no. >> The amount of stuff that she stole from Kohl's exceeded the Florida statute amount to where it became a felony. So, because it's a felony theft, unfortunately, she has to take the trip and then you can she'll she'll call you once she's down there to kind of update you. Um, and then she just has to bond out. >> Okay. >> Um, due to her having little to no criminal history, she I I don't know if there's I know she has to speak to a judge and he has to set the bond and all that. I don't know when that will be, but I'm sure shortly after. um she would probably be released, you know, upon paying whatever the bond is. But that's what we're looking. >> So today, >> I hope so. I don't know what times. I know usually it's in the morning. It's still kind of morning, so maybe it's still going on and we can get it done. But I I don't want to say definitely if I don't know for sure, but she can call you once she's down there to keep you updated, keep you posted. Um >> how does some educations work? She's on a fair amount of medication. >> So, there is a um nursing staff there. Um and they're right after she gets there, she's going to talk with the nurse and they can discuss all her medications and um I don't I highly doubt they're going to allow you to like bring medications, but hopefully she won't be in there that long to where you have to worry about that. Um so, her vehicle, I guess, is in the parking lot of holes there. Um, are you willing to take possession of it so it's not towed? >> Yeah. >> Okay, here you go. Uh, >> I'm guessing you probably want these off my face. >> Yeah, off my go. >> Is there any way that you can loosen this left one? Uh, at this point, no. It's a lot tighter than the reg. I'm going to probably have to go to the doctor. >> Did they notify my husband? >> What happened? >> My husband was on was here. Did they >> I'm sorry. What happened? >> My husband was here. They agreed to notify him if you guys decided you were going to arrest me for no reason. >> Okay. I will call um the deputy. Okay. >> Mhm. >> For no reason. >> Okay. >> So, when we get to the jail, I'm going to give you a copy of the press. >> Okay. >> You're going to have to sign and I'll get a copy yourself. Okay. >> Yep. >> My leg is falling asleep now. God, I hurt so >> Get up. Are you okay? I think I just >> We're almost in the jail. [Music] I have so much pain. >> We have a mile into >> Are you okay? Did you faint or are you >> I think I fainted and the pain is so bad. >> I'm almost there. >> I'm not going to open the door on our way to jail. >> I'm not asking you to do. I just I I'm just telling you I'm in extreme pain. It made me pass out. >> Right. You're pushing yourself to one side. >> No, I I've been trying to do anything I can to stay off of it. >> Don't patronize me. >> Well, I'm I'm not doing anything of that. Thank you. >> You are You're trying to blame this on me and it's because of how you guys did this. [Music] I'm going to need help with my legs. >> She needs to go get checked. The way she's acting, >> I'm in really bad pain. My shoulders and my wrists. And I think another nervous pinch cuz I can't feel my left leg. So, I'm going to need some help getting out. Help! [Music] Help me! Help me! like that. Why are you screaming? >> I need ice and no one's helping me. >> She's getting her ice right now. [Music] >> She's getting your eyes, but there's no reason for you to be screaming. >> I've never been treated so terribly before in a hospital. >> I've never acted like this in a hospital either.
