at 1 p.m. on a Saturday officers were alerted to a toddler found wandering unattended in a Walmart parking lot these are the events that followed the trial is right here this parking spot right where that bump is right there okay where this tree St roots are no right where your wheels okay right where the wheels okay and the tri was BL standing there or sitting down no standing trying momy and we as him if he was okay so from the time that you seen him to the time that you called 911 was how long how much time went by it was within 10 minutes not even that no it was probably like 3 minutes because that this grou this couple saw him as well and they called 911 wait what did you talking about like from the time that we saw him when we reported it to you guys it was maybe like 3 minutes okay and then the time that we responded and time that you called time that we responded it was about 10 minutes about 10 minutes and in between that 10 minutes at what point did the mom come here right when you showed up right when you guys a minute later she hello hi hi is this your kid yeah we had to run into the bathroom okay but he looks like he's not okay are you okay buddy he's been here a while he has not been you can check the time I lit I literally ran in there and ran out what's his name yeah your mom and I had to go to the bathroom really bad and he was sleeping so I just ran in there you you you have fire resc hi hi can can okay he was I was pulling up I pulled up in the truck he was right here standing crying outside crying barefooted um you called I called around 10 minutes ago 10 minutes ago and that was right standing I just really had to go to the bathroom and you can look it up on my Hospital record that do me aor you out it's going to be hard I I will try there they like what's going on he just kept saying I want my mommy where's my mommy I she just got like you guys like literally you guys pulled up and she walked she right there do you have your ID yeah are you going to 15 yeah okay yeah what do you need I I'm just trying to see if um Walmart can get there's a 13-year-old in there too what her 13-year-old went with her to the bathroom we got to look for a 13-year-old we should probably do that right now come on what's another kid so the 13-year-old left this one sorry the 13-year-old should be either in the restroom or waiting for Mom by the restroom so then she wasn't in the restroom she wasn't in there she said she went into the bathroom she went to the bathroom she right yeah and then she said her she will follow her with her so you guys both went into the bathroom yeah I don't like going by myself and ins side places like that so I asked you okay how long ago did you guys go to the bathroom not too long ago okay and you left your little brother by himself in the car um I thought it would be fine since he's sleeping you can't leave the car unattended with him in there it's hot where do you guys live um I'm not really living with my mom I was just here hang out with her for the weekend oh okay you live with your dad yes where do where do you live in Rivera rier beach with your dad yes okay where does your mom stay know all right all him and my dooped mom are the only two people I trust okay so if he comes here and takes the kids that's probably best for you because you need time to like relax mentally physically him to come but I didn't know if you my thing was I didn't know I didn't know if this was considered like you're not a fit long taking them or not well we're looking we have to look at all aspects right yeah so right now we're checking cameras for Walmart yeah I'm not going to lie to you we're checking stuff we have to right so if we see fit at the time was 15 minutes or more that you were in that store that you're going to jail simple I've never in jail but you know you also get your your time to represent yourself okay as a right now we have information but nothing's secure right now so we have to do a come here just in case he guys arrest me I know that I was in there I was less than 15 minutes but listen even if I don't arrest you you still need you physically look like you basket and then I guess when the girl realized that she wasn't coming that's when the girl came out we talking so no I already got everything you need I but sheing kid to that's another charge it's child neglect there's a bunch of um counts to it then so is that a f s the yeah mhm she said take everything so that's part of everything you're not in any trouble okay you're not in any trouble but remember when I ask you what you guys were doing here and you you guys going to theath I know that's not the trth [Music] you okay so what else did you guys put in that basket her mom wanted to look around she was distracted so she wanted to get something for herself okay but she walked out the store she she told me to stay she told you to stay there because she was going pay for it when she came back okay but you do understand that once you pass all the cash registers that's considered stealing right okay so that's why your mom's going to jail today she's going to jail because she pretty much took that out of the store without paying for it and for leaving your brother unattended in the car CU you guys can't leave your brother and you guys were in there for more than 5 minutes was you guys were in there for 24 minutes if he would have stayed in the car he could have probably died if he didn't come out he could have probably died so you can't just leave you can't leave a kid in the car okay because it's hot okay so DCF will be notified okay they might come to your address whatever they do they do they're going to offer you guys Services if you have a legal guardian who's taking care of a child they're not in and AC in jail all the time they're not on drugs we're trying to you're trying to we're not trying D doesn't have to take the kids away okay they try to make it safe for the kids that's it so if you need help you need money you need assistance take it and be honest about it because the money is there and that's what they do but this child neglect and then trying to teach your daughter how to steal I had hard times but no excuse no excuse honestly man man I've had my daughter I've had her since October she's been with me last week she broke down telling me about how she miss her M we from it used to be she had her and I was the we and I seen hard times coming I became she this is my first time in a long time her mom alone need to se ask whenever I call DCF they might come out tomorrow come out the next contact with you okay they're going to show your address work with them if this is the case like this they're going to work on temporary the whole time maybe possible whole time cust you which would be better for now the son maybe the grandmother okay it's going to to at the end of the day whatever our mistakes are always fall back on the kids those kids to stay at my house but I don't let her because of the situation I want that at my you know what I'm say I love he been KN me since he was little but he's not my kid now had it been any other father I
