How y'all doing? >> Good. How are you? >> Good. Hey, excuse me. Are you Shane? Step out here with me. Don't do all that. Let's go. you okay? >> I'm being targeted by quick gangs. There's black people at the Red River near rob my dad's place drive in the middle of the night. Shoot me and I'm in Pittsburgh. I just got back to Ohio a week ago. Okay. >> I just got in here. I just got into Fairborn today. I was in Springfield for two days. >> Okay. >> And I walked in state highway gave me a ride up here. I went to my church to get services for hotel so I can stay safe. Church leadership automatically looked at me was like, "Oh no, I ain't helping you again." >> I was like, "May get out of the building." >> My stepdad being his self privilege over white hierarchy patriarchy guy that he is, he's like, "Oh yeah, I got church power behind me. My son can't do anything to me now." And so I just grabbed his face face my glasses off his face broke him. I had my left hand around the thro and said, "Man, you touch me again. I'll I'll finish you off." That's all I said. I walked off and they followed me for about a block. Okay. >> But the church members didn't say anything. They're maybe they try to lock me in the bathroom. I I kind of forced the door open to get their people out. I'm just like super I've been traveling. I've been traveling consistently since New York for 2 weeks. I'm stress travel. I'm dressed off and I'm getting guns drawn to my head in the middle of the night. I'm falling around at 67 different states from color people from six to seven different states are following me because our dad wants me doesn't want me to be wants me doesn't want me to be a successful white male because that just comes naturally for me. I like to overachieve and do good and you know I like to be in the center spotlight. >> Do you know why I'm here? I know my I know Russ is on the phone trying to get you guys to show for some reason, but >> Well, unfortunately, you assaulted your stepfather. >> That fight brought us here. >> Okay. >> Do you have anything inside your bags? >> So, I mean, I'm getting arrested here. >> Yeah. Unfortunately, yes. >> Why? >> You can't just fight someone just because you're upset. >> You abused me as a child. >> That's okay. Yeah. We're going to take all this stuff off again. How long am I in jail? >> Until you see a giant with you. >> Yeah. Affirm. Can't even talk. Let's go. Walk, walk, walk, walk, walk. >> I'm going to head to the location. >> Stop doing that. Stop doing that. Can you pat him down for me? >> Yeah. >> You guys being aggressive with me. I'm not violent. >> We're not aggressive with you, darling. >> You're being over on your way on my arm. >> Might need to dress like this. Thank you. >> Well, you chose to dress yourself today, not us, right? >> I might need to go ahead. >> I only have one on me. >> We are trying not to hurt your arm. Do you make that sound when you get upset? >> Huh? >> Do you make that sound when you're upset? >> Oh, okay. >> Why am I getting arrested over? >> Uh, no. It's actually from Vines, Ohio. So let's step over here. There you go. >> 314. We have one male detained. >> You're clear. One male. >> Detained or he's detained for now until they get out here. >> Okay. Do you mind if I search you? >> What's that? Okay. >> Who's showing up? >> Get in the car. >> Who's coming? >> Get in the car. >> Why you screaming like your grandma? >> Cuz you're huffing and puffing like a pug dog. >> I see. >> Hello. guy you're looking for. >> Okay, >> we have one male detained. >> Can you tell me what happened? >> You're clear. One male detain 11:45. >> Okay. Uh my adopted son, Shane, who is now 30 almost 31. Uh oh, wait a minute. He's almost 34. Uh he's homeless. Last I heard, he was in New York headed for Las Vegas. Then all of a sudden in the middle of church they're pulling me out of meeting tell me he's here. So in an effort to keep him from causing a scene here I walked him down to my house which is right up the end of Bell Drive. >> Mhm. >> Uh he is delusional. Uh he said that uh well couple of weeks ago he called you guys to respond to my place saying that there had been a home invasion and you know you guys showed up and I was like Shane he does this all the time. I'm fine. Uh he's delusional today. His story was he was convinced there were squatters in my place and that the house was on fire. That's part of why I decided to walk him down there. He also a few weeks ago under my protest forwarded his mail to my address and I told him, "Chain, any mail that comes there with your name on it is going in the trash." And so now he says he's looking for a check. So I said, "Fine, we'll take you down there. You can go through the recycle bin." That's where I put all your mail. >> And uh >> so I made sure all the doors in the house were locked and I came back down here. >> Uh when the meeting was over right around 11:00, I noticed an alert on my phone that someone was standing on my front porch. So through my phone, I told him, "Please leave." Then I decided I'd walk out to the corner to see if he was actually getting out on the road somewhere. And that's when he was headed back up this way. >> And I said, "Chain, there's nothing for you here. You just need to keep moving on." Mhm. >> He said, "Well, I'm going to see if I can get a bus ticket." And I said, "Chain, you have no right to ask that." >> He told these guys just a few minutes ago, you wanted to have your name removed from the records of the church. you can't be asking him for some kind of a welfare handout >> after doing that. So, he kind of starts swearing at me and just continuing his way on and he walks up the stairs there and there are other people that witness this where he's, you know, f this and and that and you know, just all kinds of things to create a commotion. He starts to turn to go into the hallway and I thought, you know, we need to keep him close to the doorway. So, I grabbed the back of his backpack >> to hold him from going around the corner into the hall. >> And that's when, you know, he turned on me, uh, started throwing punches, uh, had me in a choke hold for a bit. I don't know if it's still red or not, but uh with the help of some other people, I was able to get him off of me. He also managed to do this to my glasses. >> Okay. >> Um at that point, a couple people managed to get him into the bathroom that was happened to be right there where we were. And while he was in the bathroom, I could hear him swearing and cussing at effectively nobody. Just yelling to be heard. And that's when I decided, yeah, I should probably get you guys on the scene because this is not something that we need to have a situation where somebody innocent could get hurt. Uh now when he left, basically as soon as he found out that we had called the police, he decided he was just going to leave. He walked up that way, cut through the private prosperity at the end of Terry, walking up toward Old Yellow Springs Road, and then he disappeared behind the trees going west. >> So he might be up there at the speedway or one of the restaurants up that way, but >> they found him. So, >> okay. >> My question to you is, are you want to um Well, you got marks on the side here. Is that from him on the side? >> Yes, sir. From him. >> Okay. All right. So, when you went to grab his backpack, was he doing anything at that time other than just trying to go to the congregation? >> He was actively swearing and basically just calling people names. They just trying to prevent him from >> I was just trying to >> put him in a narrow hallway where if things got crazy and the way he was, I felt like that was about to happen, I didn't want, you know, little kids and whatnot going up and down that hallway to get involved in it. I wanted to keep him here close to the door. >> Okay. >> And that's when he just turned on me and started hitting me. >> And you he said he put you in a choke hold. You got a little redness there, but >> yeah, >> I see more marks on your back here. Is that where did he hit you with a closed fist or >> Well, he with his right hand, he came in me this way. I was able to block most of it >> and that's when he reached me with his left hand and then of course I was trying to pull that away and then he kind of started clawing at my face and >> pulling my glasses off. >> Okay. Um I have to do a statement. I guess there's another gentleman that witnessed it too. So why >> I'm not sure if he's still here, but the bishop's not part of it yet. >> Yeah, he's the guy that's in there, I told him not to leave yet. So, uh, if I can have you do a statement, um, since you got marks, I I really don't need to ask you if you want to pursue charges. So, but >> I do >> based off your your marks, I I delusional and a danger to others. >> If he doesn't get what he wants, he will escalate. >> Yeah. So, I'll get you a statement going. I got some other paperwork that I got to go over with you, but I'll explain all that. But right now, I'll get you the statement going. Unfortunately, you'll just have to write all that what you told me on paper. Um, if you run out of room, just let me know. I'll get you another one. Um, but then I'll get a copy for or a statement from him and then we'll get I'll get some pictures of your marks, too. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right, sir. I'm going get pictures of your face here real quick. >> Bear with me. side over here. Can you move your hand just a little bit? There we go. >> The other side here just to There's not really marks, but just show the the difference. You want to raise up a little bit just so I can get your neck just in case. >> Did he have you by his hand or just in a >> His left hand was around my throat? >> It was around your throat. Okay. It was squeezing enough that although I could still speak, my voice was definitely altered. >> Okay. Do you want automatic to check you out to make sure that you're just for >> I mean, I've got some bruises, but >> I think I'm fine. >> Are you sure? Okay. Well, for some reason anything changes, if you start developing any bruises around your neck, I would advise you to go get checked out at least. So, >> cuz you don't know if did he did you lose like um your breathing at all or did you no about pass? >> I said I was still able to talk. He was he was yelling at me saying he was tired of my crap for 18 years and I said then leave only it was life. >> Yeah. Okay. I'm going to take a picture of this whole area then. >> All right. You can come on. 175 and 123 in check. >> My battery stays up. I need to charge it. >> This one here. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Got to take a picture of where all this happened. >> So I said there for a minute. He was like in the stall. Door closed. >> Oh, was he in the stall? Okay. And uh we were sitting over here trying to talk to him and he was just yelling. >> I just they just want us to take pictures of where the like when we put in the report like where it happened at and all that stuff. So >> yeah. So we were just kind of scared when he was ready to kind of stood here and let it go out. >> Okay. All right. >> Like I said, this is a temporary protection order up until you get with domestic relations court and again victim assistance or victim advocate. They can go over the protection order stuff with you and I know they will assist you in in getting that filed for you. Um or you can contact domestic relations court yourself. There's a lady by the name of Sher Hall. Um I can write that information down because I don't I don't know if I have a I may have a pamphlet out there with her information on it. >> Domestic relation. I'll see if I've got one on the pamphlet. >> Okay. Um, so you can either contact her or when a victim advocate calls you, they can go over that with you too and then they can um, work that in as well. Um, this right now just acts as a temporary protection order like explained to you. Once it starts through the court process, um, then you'll want to get with domestic relations and file an actual protection order if you want to continue with that. This just acts through it until the court or until the preceedings go through with the the case. Does that make sense? Yes. >> Okay. So, since you said you wanted it right now, you're going to sign up here and date it. >> Okay. >> And then it's just your information. You want to make sure it's correct. And then once you sign it and look, make sure that's correct. Uh you'll sign down here, too. And then I will give you a copy of this sheet. >> All right. >> It doesn't cost you anything to to file a protection order. It'll just take some of your time to go down there and just go over the process. You'll probably write out a statement again as to why you want the protection order. Now, if you go through victim advocate, >> like I said, they may be able to help you to let them know what's going on with the case and the statement you filled out. I don't know if they'll be able to use your statement here to file it in relation to it. I don't know, but that's that's something you can definitely ask. But either way, they'll they'll need a statement as to why you're wanting to file a protection order. And then once that goes into effect, that'll be good for five years. So, um, but then that also means we have to get him served and find him and all that stuff. But right now, if he's in jail, >> he's under arrest. That should be easy. >> We can definitely if you can get through the the court real quick and they know he's in jail, then we can get him served in jail. And then that way when he gets released, they'll call you when he gets released to let you know he's out. And then if he shows up at your house, he'll go back to jail again. As long as you call us and say, "Hey, Shane's here. I have a protection order." He can't be here. >> We come or I think it'll be that be us still on his address. Yeah. So, we'll come and then you know if he's there or do you have any cameras around your house at all? >> Front door, back door, garage door. >> Okay. So, those are good. So then that way if if we don't physically see him and you have pictures or cameras to show that he came on your property, give those to us and then we can file charges based off of that. >> So okay. Um so those definitely help us out a lot if we don't come on scene and he's actually there. So >> Okay. Do you have any other questions for us at all? >> Nope. I believe I'm good. >> Okay. Let me get this coffee here for you. If you have any other questions, I'm here until 6 today. Uh if anything else comes up, um I know this is a lot of information, but this is your report number here. Okay. >> Um that's my work email if you want to email me. Um but if you want to call back in the non-emergency number um and just ask speak with me about anything, if you have any questions later on, you can call and ask speak with me. That's fine. >> Okay. He was charged with two counts of assault. Thanks for watching. Be sure to subscribe for more videos like this.
