what's up everybody I hope you guys are
doing fantastic today I wanted to do
something a little bit different and
show you guys how much YouTube paid me
for 4 000 subscribers and almost half a
million views now there's a lot of
misconceptions on how much money a
YouTuber can make and if you're
considering this as a hobby a side
hustle or even you know a full-time job
hopefully the information I'll give you
today will be able to help you out in
making your decision so first of all how
much did I make of 4 000 subscribers
well YouTube doesn't pay per amount of
subscribers
subscribers are kind of like an
indication of success but doesn't really
reflect on your income they pay per
views so let's go check in the analytics
section
this is the analytics section you would
see on your channel if we go in lifetime
so far on this channel we have earned
830 dollars and we only started earning
money it was on
December 22nd now as you guys can see at
first it was very very very slow it was
just a couple dollars per day you know
eight bucks five bucks now it's getting
a little bit better 25 30 and now it's
climbing and just a few days ago
67.64 so that's a more realistic amount
of money that you could make at first
now of course it can grow it can grow a
lot it can grow to thousands of dollars
per day but that will take a lot of
views now if we look at the top
performing videos let me show you
something because views doesn't
necessarily mean money now if you go
here the top performing video is this
one on Chris Hansen so this video
managed to make a hundred and ninety one
dollars and it is not the top performing
videos in terms of views so keep this in
mind this video has 38 000 views
now if we go to the top performing video
in terms of views I have this one with
Chris Hansen and this one has 75 000. so
almost double but yet it has only made
33 dollars so why is that it's because
this video got demonetized let me show
you over here it's way down this video
as well got the monetized it was not
suitable what's the difference between
the two Chris Hansen videos absolutely
nothing but unfortunately YouTube is a
little bit inconsistent when it comes to
what videos get monetized and what
videos don't so as you guys can see this
one with 38 000 was fully monetized and
if we go further down this one with 75
000 was not monetized even though it's
the same topic it's the same amount of
swearing or graphic content
everything's the same but like I said
YouTube is inconsistent now if you want
to make a little bit of money on YouTube
you're going to want to get that green
dollar sign on every single video now
also certain videos will have different
appeals like when on this channel I make
videos on the chefs on you know strange
YouTubers and I know they won't do that
good I do it for fun what really gets
the views is the drunk drivers and the
Chris Hansen videos now another way that
you can earn income on YouTube is
through shorts now if you go into the
shorts
put one up over here the shorts make
they make ad Revenue but a tiny amount
for example here the shorts earned six
cents per 1000 views so just to put that
in perspective if you would get a
million views on a short you would get
sixty dollars
now if you go to a regular size video
for example this Karen video which is
doing pretty decent
this video is earning
5.59 per thousand views so as you can
see if this video would get a million
views it would be some serious coin now
the longer the video the more the
advertisers will pay you will pay
YouTube and in return pay you as well
now also you could get memberships if
people subscribe to your memberships
YouTube takes 30 and gives you 70 of the
income uh you can do live stream you can
do there's a few other ways you can earn
money you can do merge so it is a good
side income but I also want people to be
you know fully aware of it can take time
and it can be you know little little
money at first like for example this
channel if you take a look at it
it took
so now we're February 15th I started in
October 15 of 2022 so it took quite a
while it took from October
to December to get it to get it
monetized let me let me make sure that's
correct hold on it took from October 15
yeah to December 22 to get it monetized
so it took two months but that could
take a lot longer keep in mind until
you're monetized you're doing it for
free so you're putting in all your hard
work and it's just in the hopes of
getting some return at the end so you
have to understand when you're starting
a channel you have to be very patient
it's not something it's not a get rich
quick scheme absolutely not you're going
to need to put in Daily efforts to get
anything out of it and even when you get
monetized that's just the beginning of
the journey like I showed you over here
the first couple weeks you might be
making under five dollars a day and
that's perfectly fine so if we go in the
last week let's see what we got here so
as you guys can see the high is grossing
one is this drunk Karen now I got pretty
lucky with this drunk Karen let's see
the
because at first it only got after nine
days it only had let's see an overview
so after nine days it only had 7 000
views but something happened the
algorithm noticed it and then it started
gaining views rapidly now it's doing
great twenty five thousand that's
fantastic so your videos might not get
noticed right away it might take a week
a month one of my biggest Chris Hansen
videos it actually took 29 days for it
to get noticed by the algorithm and then
it skyrocketed all the way to 75 000. so
that's what I want to show you guys that
overall so far on the channel we have
made
eight hundred and thirty dollars so it's
a decent amount it's all right you know
it's definitely not gonna pay the bills
with all the family that's for sure but
you know it's better than nothing and
this particular Channel I Do It For Fun
For example you know there's some
content unfortunately I know it's gonna
it's gonna bomb like anything that's not
Chris Hansen and drunk driver or Karen
related I know it's not gonna do as well
but you gotta have fun just remember
when you're starting a channel do
something that you like if you're just
doing it just for the money you're not
gonna do it that long if you are really
passionate about what you do you will
make great videos you'll have more fun
doing it you'll be motivated to make
videos and that will show in the long
run with your income just find something
you like find a niche that you enjoy and
the rest will come
that being said I don't know what else
to tell you guys if other advice I would
say you know the longer the video the
better you always want your video to be
as long as possible without having any
fluff if you start adding stuff just to
put in extra time the viewers will
notice and they're going to sign out
early you want your viewers to watch the
highest percentage of your video without
you know dragging it on so if you can
get a video between 15 and 20 minutes
that's great as long as people stick
along you're better off having a five
minute video that people watch
completely
than having a 20 minute video where
people only watch five minutes of it so
that's an advice I can give you and yeah
just work on it make great thumbnails
make great content
not to be lazy you have to always be
thinking on what's the next thing you're
going to do and yeah eventually it'll
work if you put your mind to it you can
do it so I always want to encourage
people to become YouTubers if they can I
mean it's a great side business if you
want to support your family or even just
have a little bit of fun so with that
being said I think I've covered
everything if you have any questions let
me know in the comment section I think
that at this point I know what I'm doing
to some extent my channel I mean my wife
and I we got a few channels monetized in
our first year of doing YouTube so I
think we know what we're doing but
there's always more to learn there is so
much to learn and YouTube is a journey
that you know there's always new things
to to assimilate and new techniques to
learn it's always evolving so you need
to research it and adapt so that that's
pretty much it thank you so much for
watching everybody please like And
subscribe if you enjoy my channel and
I'll see you guys guys on the next video
