all right thank you everyone for
sticking with us again this is Daniel
here with cops and cons TV sorry we had
those technical issues but we are back
here with you all so let's get back into
what we were talking about and um so
we're talking about the Linda Edwards
case over in Knoxville Tennessee so I
kind of went over what what happened but
essentially she's an older woman who
took a flight from Rhode Island to
Tennessee once she was in Tennessee
pretty much as the fight was coming in
she had some abdominal abdominal pain
she went to Blount Memorial Hospital
then she was discharged sent to Fort
Sanders Hospital once she was at the
hospital she was discharged from there
and she refused to leave because she
felt she was having some medical issues
that just weren't being addressed so she
refused to leave the hospital staff
then contacted security after security
she refused to leave they contacted
police officer so now police officers
get there and they're basically being
told by Hospital staff hey this woman
doesn't have any medical issues we've
treated her she is discharged she's
refusing to leave she is criminally
trespassing so police officers pretty
much deal with that as you would expect
them to you know
um they don't there's no even so she's
telling police officers that she's
telling police officers that no I have
medical issues I feel like I'm dying I
can't breathe I feel like I'm having a
stroke and you know it the police
officers again it's not like she's in
the middle of a park or you know at like
a public library or something they're at
the hospital they're literally in the
parking lot of the hospital I mean at
some point Medics come back out and tell
her tell police officers hey she's
faking so police officers and it looks
terrible because for about an hour or so
on body camera police officers are
saying she's faking this she's faking
this like this isn't really happening so
that's what police officers
uh that's when police officers decide to
arrest her um she's arrested while she's
arrested she actually has a stroke and
dies in police custody Sergeant George
says it's always best to have another
Medical Professional provide the
analysis I agreed with you 100 Shaquille
oatmeal I see a lawsuit coming yeah
Shack there is there's going to be a
lawsuit not only against the hospital
but against the police officers as well
and you know I honestly think that
there's blame to go around so let's talk
about the the police department so the
the blame with the police officers you
know I I would say is mostly them just
kind of being rude and dismissive of her
so when police officers first get there
they essentially the first officer
before he offers her any kind of help or
assistance he threatens her with arrest
so that's just a bad look right there
now even if the cops aren't doctors and
we should say that and police officers
should be able to rely on what medical
professionals say and I've said this in
other cases and the reason is imagine if
a police officer didn't listen to what
the EMS the hospital staff the Medics
imaginative police officers didn't
listen to what the Medics say and then
something happened we would all be mad
and upset with the police officer saying
hey stay in your lane let the Medics do
what they're supposed to do they are in
charge when there's a medical issue so
if we all agree that's the case if
Medics and Hospital staff emergency room
staff are literally telling police
officers she's been checked there's
nothing wrong with her she's discharged
she's trespassing again so for police
officers to not believe that that would
be strange again if you don't want
police officers to listen to Medics okay
that's fine but then we're going to have
to apply that broadly I typically think
police officers should rely on medical
professionals with this kind of thing
and again while police officers were on
scene even though they were rude and
they were they did have Medics come back
out and essentially reiterated the whole
thing but so it just seems strange to me
so obviously this woman Miss Edwards she
it was a should have been been apparent
that she was in some kind of distress
whether it was a mental health issue or
a physical health issue obviously just
watching the body camera video something
wasn't right with her so it's just crazy
and amazing to me that the hospital
staff so before police officers get
involved it's amazing to me that the
hospital staff doesn't have some type of
social workers or someone on their staff
intake people outtake people social
workers someone on the staff to deal
with people who don't have any place to
go it just strange to me that people who
are in obvious distress whether it be
mental or physical the only option they
have is to call the police and say that
they're trespassing so that doesn't make
sense so there is something called an
mtal law it's an acronym e-m-t-a-l-a
which which basically has to do with how
individuals need to be treated when it
comes to emergency rooms so any lawsuit
that's filed against the hospital is
going to be directly on under the mtel
law they're basically going to say that
the hospital staff in the emergency room
staff didn't do what they were supposed
to do and then that's probably a
reasonable thing for them to say now
let's talk about some of the criticisms
I have about the police officers in this
case so again the police officer the
initial officer before he offered her
any help or offered to call any of her
family or try to find a place for her to
go he said that he was going to place
her under arrest almost within the first
10 seconds or so and I've got a pretty
big issue with that because you're
threatening to arrest someone before you
try to get them help um also there's
some other footage on there and the body
camera footage that while they're
talking one of the officers says and
this is this this irritates me to know
when the officer says it's the Lord's
day I don't want to be dealing with you
I just want to go have oatmeal and
coffee now listen I did 14 years of
Catholic school I'm not very religious
right now but my guess is that if you're
going to invoke the Lord or Jesus or
whatever kind of God that you believe in
it's strange to invoke that while you're
being rude to someone who is in obvious
distress that doesn't make any sense to
me
um yeah so those are some of the
questions there oh let's see uh Steve uh
uh Steve says uh she didn't have any
money or Insurance uh you know what
Steve I'm not sure if she had money or
insurance I know that she um I know that
she lives at a a nursing home is where
she was staying at in Rhode Island so
it's unknown what type of medical
insurance she has but yeah that
definitely could be an issue but for
emergency people aren't supposed to be
turned away for emergency help and
emergency room no matter what their
insurance situation is um George
Sergeant George I agree it's best to
have another Medical Professional there
um yeah and um you know I I just I just
um it just it just always makes me it
always makes me think that um uh of The
Big Lebowski anytime anytime that we
talk about something like this you know
the scene where um Walter stop check
says Saturday Donnie is Shabbos it's the
Jewish day of rest that means I don't
work I don't drive a car I don't [ __ ]
ride in a car I don't handle money I
don't turn on the oven and I sure as
[ __ ] don't [ __ ] roll sober shamas so
it's that always makes me think you
think The Big Lebowski anytime I talk
about this kind of stuff but um officer
blue gun says this 100 the hospital's
problem police have to listen to the
medical experts and act accordingly
officer blue gun yeah I agree 100
because think about again what if the
police officer imagine another situation
where the Medics are telling Place hey
this person has a medical issue and the
police officers overstep the medic so we
would all be criticizing the police
officer so yes the police officers need
to listen to the Medics again it would
be weird not to and again like they're
in the parking lot of the hospital
medical staff has already come out I
mean what are you going to do are you
going to put her in your police car and
drive her to another hospital like that
doesn't make sense you can't start an
ambulance from somewhere else you're at
the hospital so yeah this is just a bad
uh bad situation to um to be in uh let's
see uh Brian W it sucks uh the time it
takes to get a medical clearance but it
beats a lawsuit it absolutely does yeah
Brian um yeah I mean like I said she was
cleared and discharged from the hospital
and the hospital called and said and the
hospital called and said that she was
trespassing which again is is absolutely
a very strange thing for a hospital to
do for an older woman who's wheelchair
bound who is obviously in some type of
distress whether it be mental or
physical bits and Bobs the Medics will
defer to the emergency room doctor as
well yeah no I agree I agree and you
know what um let's see I'd be really
interested to see what the the policies
of the Medics are so you know the Medics
got out there maybe 45 minutes later
could someone who's you know wheelchair
bound lives in a nursing home could
there the status of their health could
it change over 45 minutes well of course
it could and it did because she died of
a stroke in police custody so you know
when the Medics came back out did they
just say hey she was just checked well
now she was probably checked an hour and
a half ago two hours ago so did they run
her through another set of vitals and
everything I'm not sure were they
supposed to by AI policy so again I I
think there is definitely blame to go
around but the Lion's Share of the blame
has to be with the hospital listen if it
was police officers who messed up I
would tell you and they did mess up
because they were rude
um but uh it's the majority of the blame
absolutely has to be with the hospital
here they are the medical professionals
and if police officers really shouldn't
override them um that much let's see
bits and Bob The Stroke may not have
anything to do with her original
complaint yeah it's possible Daryl Smith
good evening good to see you Daryl all
right the next case that I want to talk
about and this is one that I not only
did I do a couple Tick Tock videos on
this but I also wrote an article on it
and I have another one coming out uh
this weekend about it and this is a
pretty irritating case and you know a
lot of the time I don't have any extra
information on these cases you know I
read what the D.A says I look at the
news I see what the department says I
listen to what the attorney for the
family says but this is the case after I
posted a couple videos on Tick Tock
about this a couple local police
officers did reach out to me when we did
go back and forth so I do have a little
bit more information on this case so
this happened in Gulfport Mississippi
and Jaheen McMillan is the individual
who was shot and killed by police here's
what happened so this goes back to
October of 22 the there was a call for
service so someone called police
officers actually multiple people called
police officers and here's what they
reported that there were a group of
teenagers in a car who were putting on
masks and pointing guns at random
drivers that was the call for service
that's what police officers knew a
police officer from Gulfport Mississippi
Gulfport Mississippi they went to the
scene they actually found the car based
on the description the license plate
they actually found the car which you
know doesn't happen all the time but
they did they found the car good police
work and they stopped a car for this
reason of individuals pointing guns the
car they did a traffic stop the car
pulled into a convenience uh into a
parking lot of a convenience store and
essentially pulled right up to the front
door you know like the first row of cars
um at a convenience store they pulled in
there as soon as the car car stops two
individuals two young males both about
15 16 years old they jump out of the car
and they run now the one individual who
runs his name is uh jaheem McMillan he
was 15 years old he was armed with a gun
so he exits the vehicle as soon as the
car stops and he runs towards the
entrance of the convenience store and he
turns left so he's turning left and then
he basically gets to the end of the
sidewalk and then he changes course and
then he runs right so he pretty much
goes the police officers in the middle
he pretty much goes left and then he
goes right after he goes right and you
run into the other side of the store in
front of where the police car is he then
turns towards the police officer holding
a gun in his hand it's at that point
that the police officer utilizes deadly
force so
um it seems like this is a Justified
reasonable lawful officer-involved
shooting not only did was he armed with
a gun but the other individual who ran
from police officers who jumped from the
car he also had a gun the difference is
he just kept running he never turned
directions towards the police officer
holding the gun he just ran so so uh
this was a 15 year old who was killed by
by a police officer the district
attorney just reviewed everything and
they said there are no charges against
the police officer essentially the D.A
said this was a lawful Justified and
reasonable officer-involved shooting no
charges are going to be against the
police officer okay so you would think a
case like this you know okay we all know
when there's a controversial officer
involved student there could be protests
and stuff like that but it's strange to
me why this is controversial it's not
strange I know why it's controversial
and I'm going to tell you here in a
second but but the reason why this is
controversial is because of the time
delay so this happened in October the
D.A didn't release the video until this
past week so four months passed during
that four months anti-police activists
and also the family of the individual
who died they were able to just lie in
the media and say things that were
objectively not true not my opinion I'm
not talking about opinion I'm saying
objectively not true and here's what I
mean by this so this happened on October
6th right the day after this happened um
McMillan's mom started a GoFundMe called
Justice for Jaheim
um the only thing is she spelled Jaheim
wrong in the hashtag of the GoFundMe but
the day after she started a GoFundMe
with a goal of raising two hundred
thousand dollars so in the description
of the GoFundMe it says a couple things
it says that jaheem was unarmed when he
was shot by a police officer it said
that he was inside the store which he
wasn't and again we have video of this
her description of the GoFundMe says
that he was inside of the store that he
exited the store holding a bag of
McDonald's unarmed and he was shot in
the head by a police officer that's
literally word for word what the
GoFundMe said it also had the name of a
police Lieutenant who they said is the
one responsible for killing Jaheim and
in the description the GoFundMe the
police Lieutenant's name is in capital
letters It's the only thing that's in
all capital letters here's the problem
problem with that that police officer
that they blamed got death threats while
this was going on death threats over the
last four months he wasn't the involved
officer Not only was he not the involved
officer he wasn't on scene he wasn't
working that day he was actually on
vacation in a different state when this
occurred so the chief of police in
Gulfport Mississippi actually had to
come out and do like a public statement
and say hey this police officer that
you're blaming he he said just the chief
of police had to come out and say
exactly what I did this isn't the
officer who shot Mr McMillan he wasn't
unseen he wasn't working he literally
wasn't even in the States now this was
posted on October 7th here we are March
3rd that is still up if you go to the
GoFundMe it is still up all of that
information not only the name of the
wrong police officer who was not
involved in this at all it also says
that he was unarmed he was holding a bag
at McDonald's and that he was shot for
no reason unarmed as he exited the store
now that is still up right now so
um I I if you go to my sub stack a
police law newsletter I wrote an article
about it I have a link to the GoFundMe
um in the article I wrote not only do I
have the actual description that I
checked is still up there today but also
I was like a Karen and I reported them
to GoFundMe basically saying hey this
isn't accurate information I encourage
everyone to do that as well you can find
the link in the article that I wrote
about it um and listen GoFundMe is a
private company and I'm a huge believer
that private companies they should be
able to operate under whatever rules
they want they should be able to
discriminate if they want if GoFundMe
wants to support people who are violent
towards police officers and not support
police officers like I'm good with it
because it's a private company they
should be able to do what they want they
should be able to set the rules and the
standards of that company but as a
customer of that company as someone who
uses that company we should all be able
to voice our concern and our distaste
for when there are different standards
for different people and here's what I
mean by this oftentimes police officers
are charged with crimes like Krista for
sure that are absolutely not reasonable
or Justified charges so sometimes police
officers they try to do fundraisers in
order to help pay for a defense because
a criminal defense for an officer
involved shooting even if it's lawful
could be a hundred thousand dollars or
more so GoFundMe literally always shuts
those down um you can you can Google
this you can check it out GoFundMe will
not allow any type of fundraiser for an
officer who is charged with a crime even
if it's [ __ ] crimes that's different
from in 2020 during the summer of riots
The Summer of Love in 2020 all the
people who were charged with rioting and
smashing out windows and looting and
setting police cars on fire they all had
GoFundMe accounts Kamala Harris funded a
lot of those GoFundMe accounts those
were allowed to stay up so I guess what
I'm saying is that I'm I'm good with
GoFundMe having whatever rules they want
all I'm asking for and this isn't an
unreasonable request is that the Stan
standards be the same for everyone who
uses the platform not an unreasonable
thing so what I want from GoFundMe and
and what I put is that I either want all
of the money to be refunded to the
people who donated or or what I want is
um for it to be an accurate description
how about at least when you put in a
GoFundMe that it's when you put in a
GoFundMe of an officer and say this
person killed my son for no reason when
we have objective evidence again if this
was posted on October 7th the day after
and it's inaccurate okay fine I get it
she just lost her son I'm not trying to
bash on the mom it has to be an
unbelievably hard time but since then
not only has she seen the video she's
seen the got the report from the DA's
office like like there's no question for
sure the officer who she blames is not
involved at all I mean that's
objectively just not true and it's still
up on GoFundMe you can check now also
since this GoFundMe was started it's
raised over ninety thousand dollars um
so that's something interesting as well
all right let's see here a couple other
comments on this one oh let's see um
Sergeant George officer involved
shooting incidents are always tricky to
navigate your way through yeah 100
um Daryl Smith horrible but when you
play stupid games you win Super prizes
yeah I mean if you run from police
officers with a gun and turn towards
them with a gun this is the predictable
result of that um let's see Brian W uh
regardless uh the will have uh this on
her heart his or her heart forever yeah
Brian no officer as you know wants to
get into involved in officer-involved
shooting especially when it involves a
15 year old kid this is the last thing
that police officers want so don't arm
yourself when you're uh don't don't run
from police officers don't fight with
cops don't arm yourself with a gun and
turn towards them and this probably
isn't going to happen uh Martin diver
did the kid have the gun up or at the
time he was shot so he had the gun
pretty much it was out like this and it
was out like this um it pretty much it
wasn't up like this but it was out like
this as he turned towards the police
officer and you know I'm gonna say that
this police officer exercised great
restraint what I mean by that is two and
armed individuals exited from the
vehicle okay both of them run away from
the cop and they turn left officer
doesn't shoot then the one turns right
Officer doesn't shoot it's not until the
individual holding the gun out turns
towards a police officer that shots are
fired so again I could see criticism
maybe if the if as soon as they exit
with a gun and started running with a
gun if the officer shoots at that point
again I I would I'd listen to that
criticism you know I I think that would
be an honest debate right there but the
officer obviously waited until the
individual was go was running towards
him with the gun I said the other guy
was armed too but he kept running he
didn't turn towards the officer well he
wasn't shot so like I said he was also
like I said the officer was also cleared
by the DA's office um so there wasn't
any crime that was committed officer
blue gun here's what I heard in your
description of what happened in an armed
subject ignored law lawful verbal
commands and chose to take specific
actions which par uh precipitated a
reaction by law enforcement I agree and
so does Daryl officer blue gun uh yeah
GoFundMe it's hot garbage it is and I
wrote an article basically saying what
kind of a garbage garbage it was I
called it Go fund yourself uh Cajun
Randy so how many uh do you regular
peeps charges are BS how many times you
say cop charges up yes so Randy uh Cajun
Randy every case has to be investigated
on its own so you know I think it's what
I get irritated with is when people say
uh George Floyd Walter Scott uh Tamir
rice
um Ahmad Arbury not Arbury but um you
know and they and they base Brianna
Taylor and they list all of them
together and they say it's all bad cops
who did everything 100 wrong from the
day that they were born well that's
[ __ ] okay now we need to talk about
each case individually and right now I'm
talking about this case not only am I
saying it's a lawful involved shooting
I'm pointing you to the direction of
where you can go look at the video just
Google it you can watch the whole video
there's dash cam and body cam video and
again the da said that this case was
absolutely lost full uh let's see uh
Moises Valley youngster's name his name
is Jaheen McMillan that's
j-a-h-e-i-m McMillan
m-c-m-i-l-l-i-a-n uh Jaheen McMillan uh
Moises uh Rich Spillman uh let's see uh
shooting from the the drop
um okay uh yeah I mean he as soon as the
guy turned George with the gun he shot
um Martin says uh fair enough uh fell in
the case I understand yeah so that's
that's that case um like I said it's
pretty it's pretty interesting
um and and again it's I I just don't
understand how they're able to just lie
in the media so one of the things that
uh one of the cases I talk about where I
think the police department did a good
thing and I'm not saying they would have
even been able to do this in this case
because it seems like it was the
district attorney who was also who was
really in charge of that who was really
in charge of that video but and the
Makaya Bryan case in Columbus Ohio
that's the one where the police officer
got unseen to a disturbance 15 year old
Micaiah Bryant had a knife and she was a
about to plunge it into another 15 year
old girl officer arrived on scene shot
and killed 15 year old Micaiah Bryant
they were getting ready for protest it
basically came out that a police officer
killed an unarmed black 15 year old
female and they were getting ready for
protest there were black lives matter
and all kinds of other groups that were
in front of City Hall and less than a
day the police department released the
body cam footage as soon as the body cam
footage came out there were no protests
so this is the case like I said it may
not be up to the police department I
don't know what the laws are in
Mississippi I've never been to
Mississippi to be completely honest but
um yeah I've never been to Mississippi
but so I'm not exactly sure what the
laws are but like I said they had this
four-month Gap and there's been protests
and riots all over the city because of
this case and like I said there was a
four-month gap where dishonest people
were able to put um objectively untrue
things in the media before police
officers were able to respond or before
the video was out there to show exactly
what did happen because you know whether
you're anti-police Pro police
um you know it really we should be
saying well what's true what actually
happened and if you think that a police
officer involved shooting is is a not
lawful and essentially a lack of benefit
from a bad officer involved shooting not
illegal or Justified officer involved
shooting well let's talk about the
specific facts of that case not well a
police officer killed a 15 year old
black kid so it has to be unjustified it
has to be bad that that isn't the case
so um I think we should argue about the
facts and look at every case
individually uh Rich Spillman what a
rational person had done the same yeah I
think so rich um yeah so you have an
individual who's well I always say a
rational person don't think yeah
someone's running at you with a gun yeah
I think a lot of people would would see
that as a deadly threat Daryl says media
spin is one of the biggest problems in
this country hands down agree 100 Daryl
Martin says I wonder if it would have
been the same if it was a white girl um
you know I mean it I mean it's hard to
say so I I don't even think it's the
Martin I don't even think it's the race
I think it's the time Gap it's the
dishonesty you know it's it's you could
say a 15 year old boy 15 year old girl
because it's obviously anytime a 15 year
old is killed by police officers that's
obviously a tragic thing no matter what
the sex or gender or race or anything is
but it's the it's the dishonesty that
was out there again if you if you have a
criticism of this officer involved
shooting of what the cops did like I'm
good with it like I want to hear it but
what I don't want to hear is that he was
unarmed uh he had a bag of McDonald's in
his hand he was exiting the store and he
wasn't doing anything and the cops
randomly shot him that's the kind of
[ __ ] I just don't have any tolerance
for because it's just not true so like I
said if people think the officer should
have done something different I'm good
with it I just want to hear what that
specifically is Steve says what do you
think about the D.A refusing to
prosecute a sheriff's deputy after he
was indicted by a grand jury
um not sure what case you're talking
about Steve but that seems strange so if
you put the case in there so I can look
it up Steve please um usually the D.A
follows what a grand jury wants so um
yeah I'd be I'd be surprised and um
interested as well so yeah definitely
put it in there we'll talk about it all
right so last case I want to talk about
it's the case you know that everybody
has been talking about it's the Murdoch
case so you know everyone knows that
Alec murdaugh has been charged in in not
only the financial crimes but the death
of his wife and son so the trial was
going on for six weeks it was a six-week
trial with 75 Witnesses that's a [ __ ]
ton of witnesses 75 Witnesses six-week
trial it went to the jury yesterday they
came back with a verdict in three hours
of guilty three hours that is
embarrassing embarrassing for the pros
for the defense that it was only three
hours listen I've had drunk driver
trials that I've done where they
deliberated far longer than three hours
on so for them to come back in three
hours and not even take a day not even
take it like the evening for three hours
that just shows what a slam dunk case
this was for the prosecution
um yeah so that's uh that's in in an
absolutely
um uh uh yeah that's an absolute
absolutely
um just a such a quick verdict no one
was really expecting it and yeah I think
we just have to look at the Reba
McEntire song don't trust your soul to
know Backwoods Southern lawyer um yeah
that's uh that's absolutely crazy uh
let's see uh Martin says I love the
police and my dad was a police officer
here in England oh nice thank you for
your service Rich Spillman is he still
uh talking uh lawyer speak I would never
kill my family they are really already
dead Mr lawyer yeah that's absolutely
absolutely uh crazy yeah and uh on the
alley on the Murdoch case you know Tick
Tock had a strong
juror pool um so everybody was talking
about the Murdoch case so
um you know there's a lot of controversy
about whether or not he was going to
testify and obviously he had to testify
so he's I don't know how old Murdoch is
he's somewhere between 50 and 60 right
he's not a young guy so just the
financial crimes that he's essentially
already admitted to and that there's
overwhelming evidence of so he's
probably going to go away for decades
maybe even the rest of his life just for
the financial crime so knowing he's
probably not going to get out of prison
anyways it makes sense that he would try
to throw a Hail Mary and testify himself
everyone kind of expect him to do that
that makes sense but uh yeah that he was
guilty Beyond a reasonable doubt it
wasn't even close all right those are
the cases that we were going to go over
today again uh sorry we had the
technical issues at the beginning thank
you all for sticking with us um just
make sure you please go ahead and
subscribe to the channel cops and cons
TV and share it with your friends you
