The follow the following is a voluntary taped statement regarding case number 34-238-155286 of Jose. Uh present during the statement is just myself and Jose. said statement is being conducted at uh the Double Tree Hotel located at >> 2670 East Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33304. >> Okay. And the sworn statement is being conducted by myself, Officer Cruz Garcia, CCN209. This statement is being conducted on the first day of September, 2023 and is commencing at 2:15 p.m. I am a police officer in the state of Florida and as such I am authorized to administer oaths. Since this is an official statement, you can be prosecuted for perjury if the statement you give is found to be false. Please raise your right hand. Do you swear that the statement you are about to give is going to be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? So help you God. >> I do. Is this statement being given of your own free will? >> Yes, sir. >> Have you had enough sleep? >> Yes, sir. >> What is your level of education? >> I have a bachelor's degree. >> Are you under the influence of any drugs or alcohol at this time? >> No, sir. >> Uh, have any promises or threats been made to you in order for you to give this statement? >> No, sir. >> Okay. Go ahead and please tell me what happened. Um, >> yeah, go ahead and say what happened. So, I believe the date was August the 2nd. I was uh doing some training at the front office of the hotel with my front desk team. Um when uh this guest came up to check in. To be candid, I don't remember her name right off the bat right now. Um but she came to check in. I remember that she had a reservation from the 2nd through the 5th. So, she had a three night reservation. Um at that time, as part of the check-in process, it's customary to verify the check-in and checkout date. how many nights are staying um and all that. So when I was doing that, she pointed out that it wasn't a three night stay. It was supposed to be a four night stay. So I advised her since it was booked through Priceel Line, which is a prepaid service. I wasn't allowed to change the number of nights because that would generate an additional night charge back to Price Line, which I can't authorize. So the guest has to call Price Line and sort out whatever discrepancies are there with the reservation. Um, at that point she said that that wasn't her problem, that that was our problem, that I needed to deal with it, and that she wasn't leaving till Sunday. Um, I told her that that's not how things work, that I'll be happy to check her in for the three night stay that she's booked for. And after she's checked in, she could call the price line from her room. she could sort out this additional night's stay and then um we could process you know that additional night's stay so she could stay the four nights that she needs to. Uh at that point she again said that no that's not her problem and she started using some curse words um f this and f that and f you. I told her that unfortunately that's not language or behavior that we could accept at the property and I would go ahead and accept the three f-words that she said. But if she continued with more f-words that I would not be able to check her in and she would need to find another place to stay. She continued with f-words. She continued to curse and yell. So I canceled the reservation in our system and I told her that at this point she does not have a reservation anymore. she's not authorized to be on property and we asked her to please leave. Um she didn't listen. She started raising her voice, yelling and screaming and making pretty much a big stink and scene in our lobby. Uh we tried to ask her to leave. We told her to please call Price Line. Uh she didn't listen. She continued to curse and scream. At that point, I called um the local PD for Lauderdale Police Department and asked for assistance in uh removing the guests from the property. He's okay. Why are you yelling? Relax. >> Because he's ripping. >> Stop yelling. >> No, don't yell at me. My brother's a cop in New York. >> So, I'm the GM. Okay. >> I was doing a little train. I normally don't check people in, but I'm doing a little training on the >> feel. All I want to do is lay down and this bastard won't let me stay here. >> One second, man. >> No, don't listen to him. Just put your hands on me. >> Back up or you're going to >> you will go to jail. >> I bet you will. >> Go yourself. Anyway, >> it all started with a discrepancy on the reservation. >> Chrysler booked her for three nights. She said it was four. >> Disney made a mistake. I said I would deal with it and he got nasty. He didn't like my answer. >> You want to trespass? >> I just wanted to leave. I don't want to do more paperwork for you guys. So, if we could just get her on our way for this for another property >> and he can go himself and drop it. >> I took the first one. And I asked her, >> "How do you treat people like this?" And then she went off like that. So at that point, >> I'm so upset. I just want to work. >> Look at her. We'll get her out for you. She refuses to go. >> How dare >> I have nothing but the utmost respect for God. Nothing. >> I hate to do my work for you guys. But >> yeah, but he's wrong. He didn't like my response. I go, "Whatever. What the does whatever mean?" >> A scene right now. She's been yelling. >> I would like to punch him in the face. >> She's trying to spit me. >> He's wrong. I didn't spit at you. >> Relax. >> You're lucky I didn't kick you in the B. Don't touch me. Get your hands off me. I'm going to put you on cuffs. >> I don't care. >> How about that? I don't care. >> Good. >> You need to leave the property. >> I can't. I have nowhere to go. I'm not. >> Unfortunately, if you're not leaving, you're going to jail. >> You I'm not leaving. >> Okay, there you go. >> Don't come. >> I got a bad out of your mouth. >> I got to run off my back. Stop. I got a rod in my back. Help me. Stop. >> I got a rod up my back. Please. >> That was That was not >> And then you hit me. I'm going to ride up my back and shoot to rotator cuffs. >> Okay. >> Please put the cuffs in the front. Please. >> I won't do anything. Please. Lovely.
