I don't know. It's every open office. I'm just going, "Hey, where's the LP office?" >> That's the break room right there. >> Well, this is the break room. >> No, that's the break room. Is that the other break room? How big? >> Maybe conference room. Go ahead. >> Just walk through. >> Okay, cool. She did. Thank you. How you doing? >> No, she's in the next manager. >> Okay. >> Basically, this is it. So, it's a cash. >> It's been occurring. >> It's been occurring since 21st. >> They were able to validate >> validate it. All this is see everything is saved. Quick rundown of it. on each on each on each one that they were able to validate. So, it was >> we had uh shortages of 1400, but we were only able to validate 600 because of where she was at the time on the register. >> So, she works here. >> Yeah, she works. She's she's admitted everything to our manager. >> Okay. >> Um, this one doesn't show it, but I'll show >> um >> the You say you have it saved? >> Yeah, I have everything saved. >> So, if I can get you the case number, can you upload it? Yeah. I don't I don't because I I do a PBS. I don't know if you guys have the same Axon drop link or anything. >> Yeah. I'm going give it to you. >> Yeah. So, it's the same thing like this. So, the yellows where it was validated via TV and everything. >> Um the green's the short input wasn't validated. >> So, they're only >> So, all the yellow is is what is on video that you can actually see. So, it's cash I'm assuming that she took. >> Um I mean, you could see like all the videos saved. This is just images of this, but you can see >> that's how they validated it. Um, >> so what is she doing? Like what, like, say for inance, what is this? Like, what is she doing? >> She's basically just like taking money out of the register and just putting it on the bottom. >> Okay. >> And then she'll put it off to the side and then take it later on. >> Oh, okay. Got you. >> I kind of got a brief description cuz I'm not from here. One's not here. My manager said, "Hey, come here and assist me with this." somebody do it. >> I don't know >> where do you call it? >> I'm in Bokeh >> with PBS. >> Okay. >> So, I'll give you guys this on the drop link and then you see everything else is saved. >> Um, all right. >> Try to get number >> so we can >> it took her long enough to send me as an assist for you. >> 104. Thank you. All right. So, it's a theft. It's only 600 bucks. Well, not only because that's a lot, but um >> the verified amount is 600. >> The verified amount 600. I guess I guess the other time she was on the other registers right there. >> I This is up to you. I'm just here for you. >> I know. You tell me what you want me to do. >> Cuz how long she been doing this >> that we can prove since 10:21. But who knows? >> People get greedy before it's too much. Yeah. >> Yeah. People just be getting greedy. >> Mhm. It's the holiday season. >> Yeah. But I can't just go and hit. You know how much money I wish I could have? Can't just go and take it. >> Just get a job here. >> I'm just saying. >> Just don't get greedy. We have another associate that kept someone store credits been spending like money. >> We just haven't gotten to get to that. >> Um, all right. So, I'm going to >> That's always a good one. >> Hi. >> Hello. >> Put the store credit in there. >> Statement. >> Can we get a copy of that? >> Yeah. Okay. >> Um, also too, when I I'm going to send you this link, who do I send it to? >> You can just send it to me and I'll drop everything for you. What's your um email or phone? >> Uh you can send us my email. >> The like you know how this video how you this right? I actually watch what she did. Is that what you're going to upload to us as well? >> So I'll upload. >> Okay. >> Everything in the yellow like I said was verified saved on this. So I'll send you all the coral and CCTV to that um show. >> What? >> Okay. So here's this. Make sure you have that. And then um I'm just going to get a swan statement from you before we talk to her. >> If you do it for her, it's easier because you interview her. >> All right. Um well, >> whoever wants to be the actual reporting party doesn't matter. >> It's going to be you. Okay. What's your name? >> BT. >> Okay. Um and what's your title? >> District asset protection manager. I'm just coming from Miami. I was at a function. >> You do you. >> Oh my gosh. >> Did she do one today too? I I just one that she came in. I said grab her before she go clocks in. >> Takes more money. >> So with So with that, this is just us filing charges. You see? You see what I'm saying? Like they didn't catch her in the act here, right? for this particular one. You say yes or no so I know that you acknowledge what I'm saying here. >> Yes or no? >> God, listen. >> I got to make sure like um and how we handle this, which is fine. Um >> yeah, you guys if you if you anti- hair or she doesn't have anything that's up to how >> um first. >> Yeah, let me do her first and then what she says and then go from there. All right. So, I need for you to, if you don't mind, could you um raise your right hand and state your first and last name? >> Beth Mahabh. >> And your name? >> 731 1970. >> Um, and then do you like keep your name up and then do you swear and affirm that the statement that you're going to give is the truth and to the best of your knowledge? >> Yes. >> Okay. And then you tell me what happened. >> Okay. So, there's cash shortages um that were reported to me. So anytime there's a cash shortage, um we look into CCTV to find out how many times, you know, a tilt would pop open or um kind of a pattern we look at. We have a central investigations team up in Atlanta, Georgia. So what they do is once I get a lead or um I feel maybe I got one hit off of I saw a behavior or did see it, I send it up to Atlanta where the central investigations team, they put the case packet together, which you will get. Um and it just goes back into time on other occasions that you know there's been cash shortages to rule out anybody but that person that's actually taken the cash. Mhm. >> So, um, several different occasions. In the packet, I'll show you that, um, it was $600 on, uh, count how many times, believe it was, uh, one, two, three, four, about eight times that the tip was popped open and, um, that she would take a $50 bill or 20 depending on what she had in the register. Once we determined what she had in the register, what she would take, um, we determined $600, um, we had exposure of $1,450, but we're only going to charge for what we have on video, which is $600. And I did the interview today and she admitted to um, needing to help her family out with medical bills and she taken the money and she's sorry. And um, that's where we're at today. And anything over her dollar will prosecute. >> Okay. Um, >> you said we'll get copies of that and and a copy of that. >> Okay. >> Do you have all her information >> like name, date of birth, address? >> They don't have her name, address, and everything like that. They just they don't put the date of birth in the package. >> Okay, I'll get the date of birth. Oh, wait. >> But since 10:21 of 2024, you guys have been That's when you guys first noticed her. >> No, it was actually last month. Um, we had forecast shortages and then the central investigations went back into >> Okay. So, y'all noticed it last month, the forecast shortage, >> forecast cash shortages. >> All right. And then, um, research. You guys saw that she's been doing it since October. Yeah, that's information. No, I was >> show >> Oh, 1020. So, I got it right here. You guys put it on here. Um, from 10:21 to 1214 >> and other cash shortages that couldn't be validated. It has right here. >> December 14. Yeah, they'll they'll have kind of pull up the information for you. >> Okay. >> Yeah, cuz they'll have they have everything on here. >> Yeah. So, I'm trying to make sure they're real easy for >> And then it's the validated ones right here. >> Yeah. Which is the which is So, all right. Let me call him and see. >> So, it says in there that there was >> 1450. We're not doing that. We're only doing the 600 that we have on video >> that we >> that we can prove. >> Right. Okay. >> I'm just going to make a phone call real quick. um before. >> Hi. Okay. So, um sorry to bother you, but so this that me and um what's her name? Matlock are on. We um so what happened was she's not she wasn't caught in the act today doing it. What happened was they've been watching her over a period of time and they have her, you know, they have all the proof and all the video surveillance and everything of how much she has taken, which is $600. Um, so the thing is is we wouldn't be able to NTA her off of that or take her to county on that, right? We would have to just gather all the and she provided a witness state, actual written statement four, right? So is that four? Yeah. So this like one was like for 200, one was for 40 40 96 299. >> Um I mean but you explain it a little way more smoother than I did. >> Yeah, it's fine. >> Um >> so is and we probably need to follow up with uh with Beth as far as how this person was identified. >> How did she come about being the person >> which has nothing to do with you? She uh so for for our registers all our cashiers have unique it's called an LDAP >> they got a login >> which is a login it's unique to them >> only they can use it only they have access to it so every time they go on a cashier it's kind of how we track them and how we track all the transactions everything like they do >> so when a cash shortage will come up it'll give you all the unique LDABS for that specific day that's that register and everything like that so basically CIT will go through it find out the ones that are correlating that date that register that time they'll narrow it down they'll start observing them via CCTV for all the cash transactions on that day. And anytime you open a registers or anything, it it shows it. So you can go to anytime they do a cash cash strip, which is them opening the register to either count the money to get a cash strip to send back to the vault or if they're doing a cash transaction. So they'll review all the video, narrow it down, and then they'll find incidents like this to where they're >> the problem that he has is the identification of her being the person. You know, it's her number. We know that, but >> the people watching the video needs to establish establish that's her. >> Hello. >> Yeah. Yes. Okay. >> How we're going to handle this? >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Can you hear me? >> Yes. >> All right. Y'all need to watch the video with whatever LPO is there with you. Okay. And each time that the incident happens, he needs to say yes, that is our employee, whatever her name is. Okay. >> Okay. >> Get that first that he can ID her on the video as stealing the money. then >> go in the room, mirandize her, and see if she'll give you a statement. >> Yeah, we were just talking about that. >> If she doesn't, it's fine. But what I'm saying is we cannot use the statement that the employee got the employer got from her. They can use it down the road for their own restitution or whatever, but we can't because, you know, we fall under a different set. So, as long as the video you you guys can clearly see the video and what she's doing that her hiding the money in the drawer than her pocketing it. There's the other thing. You know what I'm saying? >> Yeah. >> Better show her taking the money. You get what I'm saying? >> Um, then as long as the LPO IDs her, then we can arrest her on the scheme of defraud. But we got you better be able to see her taking that money. You know what I'm saying? Well, what about is it taking the money equivalent to her placing it under the cash register? Teal, >> I don't know. Is that something they do? >> We We'll figure it out. We'll figure it out. >> Okay. >> Figure it out because, you know, I don't know what their store policies are. >> Okay. >> You know, can they or can they prove that the amount stuck under the cash draw is the exact amount that was that was short? >> Okay. >> You get what I'm saying? >> Yes. I mean, there's there's no doubt she was doing it, but we got to be able to place her taking the money, >> right? >> You know, I mean, who's to say she didn't stick it on the drawer and someone else came along? I don't know. I don't know what their policies are. >> Okay. >> All I All I'm saying is we can't use her statement, period. >> No. >> Right. >> Well, I just I just told her just to throw the statement in, but not use it in the narrative, but just throw it in, get a copy of it. >> No, we cannot use it. No, >> no, >> we we cannot use any part of her statement. >> None. Zero. >> Okay. >> That that does that statement does not exist to us. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. >> All right. Thanks. >> So, you can see the customer left. >> I have a second tag. Copy. going to be alpha 69 Mike Zulu AG6 94 registered to Arena out of Atlanta. That's That's what she was doing. And the title behind >> That was That was pretty blatant. >> Jesus. >> Okay. >> And that was the $200. >> It says 2001. $200 and one, >> but I'm sure it was just 200. Like 450 is what? >> Yeah. Yeah. She took them from out the bottom. >> You got the time. >> 510. Well, she started at 51 19 and then 520 >> and then So, so that's what she did. He picked it up >> and then went >> got got the 50s and then threw it back or 20s or whatever the hell it was. That looks like a lot more. >> These are these are hundreds. I don't think she takes I'm sure she probably doesn't take all of that. >> Oh, those are all hundreds. >> Yeah, I think she contemplating on how much. No. >> Cuz it looks to me like she's trying to count the drawer. >> Mhm. >> Someone was walking by. >> It is. She put two. She only took out two. >> So that was at 520. >> Yeah. So, that was a whole lot of That was a shell game right there. That was a whole lot of movement. >> Do we have Let's try Let's try one where we can >> Wow. >> All right. >> Uh maybe see >> Can we um >> Yeah, cuz he's going to go for that one. >> I see him. Hello. >> Hey, real quick. This was my I'm very sure on this email the video actually shows her after concealing it. >> So far, every time >> she stages the money, she conceals her hand in her uh uh sleeve, her jacket sleeve, >> and then puts then puts her hand underneath. >> So, as of right now, we're watching the last one now to see if we can actually see money. Um, as of right now, we don't we've not been able to see any actual money being concealed. >> You can see the money going under it and later her concealing it is what you're telling me. >> She puts money underneath, but we don't see the actual concealment. So, she'll put money underneath in stage and then she'll cover her hand up with her sleeve and then she'll put her, you know, covered hand underneath there, put the money into her sleeve and then she'll >> Okay. But it it looks like she's concealing money and putting it in her pocket with the telephone. >> Corre correct. We just don't see the actual money being concealed, but she's she's moving money around. >> Yeah, but you can see you can see the money moving around and what looks like what a reasonable person would say most probably she's concealing the money, >> correct? >> And they can they have receipts, too. >> Yes. >> Yeah, they've got the dollar. >> Okay. go in there, Mirandize her. She'll probably give you a confession anyway that she's already [ __ ] done it with the uh the boss or whatever. Just walk in there, you know, play it cool. Just be like, "Hey, we are talking or whatever. We're just going to elaborate on." >> All right. So, we gonna now go in there, interview her. You want us to come come in or we go in there? >> Take the manager out. We come. Okay. >> All right. >> Yes. >> Can we use this for right now? So, this is what's going to happen. We're going to go. >> So, we'll go in and what'll happen is they'll go in like, hey, you know, we understand you spoke with district, you know, whatever. He's got some clarification questions. reading the rap and get her take that care up and be like, "Okay, why don't >> you just Yeah. Good afternoon. >> It's a card. Sorry. >> Yeah, cuz we can't have it. We can't have a thing for the fire. >> Oh, you're good. Okay. Thank you. >> Um, so I'm officer Police Department. This is my partner, Officer Matlock. Um, first what we're going to do is I just want to verify who I'm speaking with. So, what is your name and date of birth? >> Okay. Um, >> and what's your current address? >> Um, >> okay. Yeah, >> you got >> Okay. Um, I just want I'm going to come closer to you just so you can hear me. Um, I'm going to read you your um Miranda rightites. All right. And then you stop me if you have any questions. Okay. So, first and foremost, um I am required to warn you before you make any statement that you have the following constitutional rights. Um you have the right to remain silent and not answer any questions. You have choice question. So with that being said, do you have any questions on the Miranda Miranda rights? >> Okay. Do you understand the random acts that you >> All right. >> Well, we just need to we just first we got to see what what happens here and then that's something that I will have to discuss with somebody higher up than me if you're going to go to jail. All right. But the crime has been committed. Okay. Um so with that being said, you know, Home Depot gave us um these documents here. So, I just need you to kind of walk me through what happened on each of these occasions that the ones that I'm going to ask you a question about. So, there's one that happened back in like um do you remember most of the occasions of these happening? One in October. Um there was one in October where you kind of took um $200 $2001. >> All right. So, I'm just going to kind of tell you what it was. It looks like um you would place the um the you know you place bills, right? And I guess place them. How do you how are you placing them? Cuz I have it here. >> Hold on. >> Okay. >> So you you know why we're here obviously. >> Yeah, she talked to me. >> Okay. Um Beth talked to you, correct? >> Okay. So we just have some clarification questions in reference to this. Now, you don't remember specific dates? >> No, I don't remember the um going from the October. >> From October. Okay. Do you remember any other like Do you >> What do you remember? >> Yes. >> Um I think the last time I took one was about a month ago or so. >> So, in in November, you think? >> Yeah. >> Okay. And what do you know how much you took? >> Um, probably 10020 $200. >> 100 or $200. Okay. And then how how would you how would you take it? >> Um, >> obviously you didn't just go and grab it and then >> while doing um stage then I would take 100 out or 20 out of it. Okay. So, you're counting you're counting money and you would >> cash. >> Okay. For uh what you what do you call it? >> Strip. >> Cash strip. Okay. So, you would take a bill out or two bills out of the money you were counting and then what would you do? >> I would put it on the keyboard. Under the keyboard. >> Okay. >> And then I would send the rest back. >> Okay. So, you take the money out, you got a keyboard, you like slide it under the keyboard, and then you put the rest of the money back into the cash till. Okay. Okay. And then how would you get the money from the keyboard? >> I would take it. >> Okay. So, you would fold it when it's underneath the keyboard. >> Okay. And then then what would you do with it? >> I'll just take it and put it in my pocket. >> Okay. Do you just put your hand under there? >> Okay. >> You just put it in your pocket. You don't put Do you Anytime you put it in your jackets >> sometimes. >> Sometimes you put it in your jacket, >> but then I take it out. >> That's how you did most of your I guess most of them when you did. >> Yeah. Okay. Do do you know how much total you actually >> um she said 14K 1,400 but I don't remember it was that much probably cuz to my record probably less than 500 >> less than you. So you believe that you took less than 500? We took money but not you don't believe it was that much but you >> just trying to help my dad with his medical bill and my mom >> with some of the house bill. >> How old are you? >> I'm 19. Just turned 19. >> So your father has some medical issues >> issue. He had to get the surgery for pacemaker. >> Okay. >> And he doesn't he's not from here so he didn't have a a insurance card and stuff like that. So you weren't you weren't keeping the money for for your personal use. >> You you were helping. >> My mom, she worked 40 hours, but against that sometime it doesn't cover the hotel amount for the rent. So once in a while she doesn't have that. I will give her $200 just to cover rent to cover the house. Oh, cover the rent and the bills for the house. >> Especially I haven't gotten into a car accident, but my my card. >> So, the rest of the money we had to pay, I would help her out until it was fully covered. >> That That sounds like a lot of money. Uh probably more than $500 for, you know, medical expenses. I don't pay all the medical expenses. I just kind of if I had like 100, I would put it down. >> All right. Is there anything else you would like to tell us or >> you're tissues in there? Tissue make a phone call. I'll say that. >> Okay. >> So, the the bare minimum and I'll explain this to you that there is going to be a report written. So bare minimum there's a report that officer Elkins is going to write and that's that's why we give we afford you the opportunity to talk with us because in there in her report she will state what you what you told us that you know you you believe you took less than $500 but uh and then of that money that you were helping the family with medical expenses for your father. uh household bills, stuff like that that you know, not that you went and and took money or and then used it on yourself for selfish means or something. Um so depending on what the supervisor says is that'll be our next course of action cuz what'll end up happening, it's going to go one of two ways. Um there there could be a filing with the state attorney's office for charges >> and if >> if it goes that route they'll take that in consideration. >> Okay. So I was just trying to explain to her that a report is being written and it could go you know one or two ways. One is maybe a filing and that's about all that's about all I got to. >> So um I did I did go ahead and make a phone call and investigation. based off what Home Depot has. >> Um, and then your statement with Home Depot that we are going to take you into custody today. So, I need for you to just go ahead and stand up and place your hands behind your back. >> Yeah, you can call. Who you calling? >> Um, I'm just standing with my boyfriend. >> Just Just shoot him a text and let him know that you'll call him later, but you're you're going to be uh taken in to custody. You say you don't want Home Depot to know. >> Um, >> all right. So, this is >> So, let me see here. Because it's such a It was happen the situation and because of the way that it happened, we can't do that. We can walk out slowly or whatever, but I'm going to have to I'm going to have to come. >> This is This is what we can do. if you want to like loosen up your sweatshirt where people can't see that you're in handcuffs and and just kind of walk. You know what I mean? Cuz we're going to have you handcuff behind your back. If you want to somehow have your sweatshirt where people can't see, that's what we can afford you because of your cooperation. But we do have >> walking out of here. >> Yeah. I just can't without anything. >> Okay. But because you've been cooperative uh with both Home Depot and us, we we can do that where it's not as uh >> blatant. I'm face me. >> What we got going? What's under here? >> Oh, >> this your hair. Okay. >> Yeah. >> All right. So, you know, it's going to come off when we get to the station, but we'll let you. >> I'm allowed to stick my phone in, though. >> Yeah, the phone's going with >> Yeah, your phone. >> Okay. You just We'll carry it out. >> Okay. And my bag. I have my bag in the locker. >> Okay, that's fine. So, we'll have We'll have somebody grab it. >> Yeah. Right. >> Is it locked in the locker? >> No, the locker is open. I lock it. >> All right. So, yeah, we'll have them go ahead and turn around for me. >> Okay. How How do you want to Do you want to take your your arms out and have them You know what I mean? and have them underneath so that way >> you know what I mean? So that way people don't see the handcuffs. >> You know what I'm saying? >> Wait, >> no. Like like put your shirt. >> Yeah. Take your arms out of your shirt and like keep them keep your shirt over it. >> Oh, >> you know what I mean? So that way people can't see the handcuffs. >> I hope I don't go to just cuz I had to sign a paper to pay the money. Mhm. >> Yeah. That's the the civil restitution side of it. >> And then what we'll do is we'll pull this down over. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Was that >> Yeah. What? What locker is your stuff in? >> Yeah. >> No, I have a clicker. >> You don't got a clicker? >> But it's a new car. >> It's not a new car. >> It's a new car. It's >> not a new car. She was charged with scheme to defraud and was sentenced to a pre-trial diversion program. Thanks for watching. Be sure to subscribe for more videos like this.
