he smoked it G I heard a bang and I heard I thought it was your car alarm right yeah he went up that way like he was headed toward 36 or brown wood or something the car belonged to Koko Caro who was missing at the time officer Derek decided to check Koko's home for any leads at Koko's house Derek met Caleb Koko's girlfriend he called me about an hour ago saying someone was bringing him home but where's he at I haven't seen him no h now I'm really scared who who are you just talking to in there if you don't mind me asking my friend Mary James friend Mary J Derek asked Caleb whom she had been talking to inside the house she nervously claimed it was her friend Jay however she was actually trying to protect coko who was inside and dealing with a mental health crisis what's up hey Mr Colton situation quickly escalated when Derek noticed the gun shouting go to bed no sir I'd like for you to come out and talk to your truck is spli in some something drop the gun drop the gun move in the tense moments that followed a gunshot rang out coko was hit in the back as he turned to go back inside sh fir [Applause] save all units clear the radio for emergency traffic only Coco fell wounded but still conscious and exclaimed in pain and anger accusing officer Derek of shooting him he's breathing he's talking who shot get him off of the stomach you God damn it uncuff me who shot me Caleb who side Coco's father hearing of the incident rushed to the scene only to find himself amid chaos as he tried to understand what had happened to his son the police mishandled him too forcing him down and threatening him as he pleaded for clarity and calm enough you sir you need to back up you need your hands off back he came out with a gun and you need to to get off my I feel you I don't know godamn in the report hey my dad my dad was a state Tri 30 years leg 30 years all right when his supervisor arrived Derek broke down explaining his actions in a distressed state yet he was the one comforted without going into all gory details I knew better I knew better than to let him go inside that house B I knew better than to let him shut that Fu do [ __ ] hey you're fine you're fine Koko survived the shooting but was left paralyzed the initial support from law enforcement sided with officer Derek blaming coko for the events however the situation took a turn when Koko filed a $10 million lawsuit against the city two years later only then was officer Derek placed on paid administrative leave on December 8th 2023 Thomas bruglia was driving and ended up behind an off-duty officer Alan ganter at an intersection Thomas needed to turn right but officer ganta wasn't moving frustrated Thomas honked his horn hoping to prompt ganta to drive this simple act however escalated quickly [ __ ] are we doing what are you doing wait off day oh officer ganta who was off duty at the time got out of his car displayed his badge and started taking pictures of Thomas's license plate their exchange grew heated on red really where does it say that it says stop here on red you're the one sitting on your phone doing other I wasn't on my phone really no it wasn't yeah I saw you looking down doing to get arrested for assaulting a civilian the situation intensified when Thomas asked for ganta's badge number ganta reacted harshly accusing Thomas of assault this accusation took a more serious turn especially after viewing the video which showed no physical assault and there's nothing where I can press for for breach of Peace for him yelling I mean whatever it is or it's just well I tell you I've seen the video so I know he didn't yell you well I can hear him toting his horn it's front and back show doing the double finger when I said list offic gave the finger yeah okay eventually the truth of the situation led to repercussions for ganta it took 3 months but ganta was charged with third degree assault and breach of Peace he was also permanently removed from his position as a school resource officer a role unsuitable given his behavior during the incident all right I appreciate it app okay take additionally gantter was ordered to attend deescalation training and was suspended for 5 days without pay October 8th 2017 Monty M found himself in a situation that quickly escalated Beyond an ordinary parking issue it all started when Summitville Fire Chief James love asked him to park his car properly shortly after Summitville deputy chief Thomas Everett a friend of the fire chief arrived with clear agitation if you don't identify yourself please keep your hands keep your hands where I can see them okay they're right here that's a basball B I understand that I see that baseball bat to the call 1100 North you have any guns or knives in the car why you so nervous partner because pretty much you came up to me with a gun right now police officer I have a fully marked I have a fully marked police car I understand did I have my gun out no okay so do you have any idea on you but listen this guy comes out of here okay okay and tells me pulled off I said I will do you have any ID on you he repeated and wanted to show his ID this wasn't a simple request for identification it was an unwarranted confrontation based on supposed suspicious activity that Everett could not substantiate do you have any ID on you no sir I need you to step out of the vehicle no sir okay I'm going to tell you right now I wasn't doing nothing wrong okay I'll tell you right now I have another unit coming that's fine and when he gets here you're coming out of the vehicle I'm coming out of the I am asking you right now to identify yourself and step out of the vehicle identif myself I asked you that too sir I've already done that I'm officer ever with the sumerville police department I'm a deputy chief here if that if that recording you sir if that recording doesn't come out let me know I'm recording it too okay the situation deteriorated when Everett ordered Monty out of his vehicle despite Monty's attempts to comply and clarify the situation Everett was not there to listen okay you're awful nervous and I'm asking you I'm asking you to step out of the vehicle I stepping out do you another okay as backup arrived Everett's demeanor did not improve instead it became clear he was prepared to escalate the situation Monty trying to maintain his rights and dignity stood his ground leading to Everett forcibly removing him from the car I'm going to ask you real I'm going to ask you Tak people's rights away and it's not not right I'm going to explain to you one enforcement and Battery against a peace officer he spent four months in jail but all charges were eventually dismissed and he received an $8,000 settlement as for the officials involved fire chief James love who initially called the the police resigned in 2021 after an investigation into unrelated charges of theft and sexual misconduct deputy chief Thomas Everett instead of facing repercussions
