on October 7th 2023 fcso deputies responded to the Walgreens store in Palm Coast Florida after a woman left with a shopping cart full of items without paying for them Witnesses stated that she had also acted aggressively toward employees and customers before leaving an attempting to enter a vehicle in the parking lot deputies located the woman as she walked on the sidewalk pushing the shopping cart filled with stolen property they attempted to stop and speak with the suspect later identified as 51-year-old Jennifer Sheffield who immediately became aggressive towards them please hey Sheriff's Office put your hands behind your back put your hands behind your back hey hey hey stop stop let me go stop stop listen relax okay relax let no it ain't over it it is over it is over you just stole from from Walgreens what I steal from nobody what are you thinking I didn't steal from no bu yeah you did you got a whole shopping cart I'm going to pay for it okay we'll go back and pay going run the window no you going to take me what you ever put your hands on me like that goddamn so disrespectful disrespectful Walgreens Employees identified Sheffield as the thief and retrieved the stolen items from the shopping cart hey guys how y'all doing how are you good thank you for responding so quickly yeah she she put up a little fight with us but she's uh she's good now we figured she was probably going to yeah um um so you guys do want to pursue charges he said to pursue charges who is the manager um neither us we're coming back to get the stuff the manager that's on duty is in the store okay obviously training receipt for the items and then um if you guys are okay with it we're going to do theft of the shopping part as well it's a different statute okay so if you got a value on that that would be helpful I can look that up I know how to look that up yeah that would be awesome for us all right thank you very much appr does everything in there look like itong to the store or do you see anything that would belong to her yeah these are definitely ours yeah nothing that's actually pretty it's still in the freaking it's still in the alha box yeah yeah take a picture of that that supposed to set off the alarm it did it did it did yeah it did okay nothing that would be obviously hers there no no okay perfect yeah all she had was her uh the little fanny pack thing so she dropped a couple things but we grabbed them already okay I mean if you want to add that did she pass all pointy sales yeah okay yeah I if you want to add that to it that would be awesome okay all right thank you thank you later Walgreens decided not to prosecute Sheffield for retail theft but wanted her trespassed from the business Sheffield was arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence hey Jennifer how you feeling you okay you calm down a little bit I'm sorry that everything happened the way that it did you understand why we had to do what we did yes to protect ourselves and protect you I didn't want to see you get hurt and I didn't want to get hurt you know do you have any pains right now yeah feel Hur bad they're hurting you pretty bad what about your heart is it feeling okay I just want honesty that's it I'm just worried about you you're just a little upset a lot of upset what are you upset about I don't like this is going I don't either you might think I'm joking about that but I'm really not um we're going to we're going to figure everything out as quick as we can it's it's going to take just a minute um we're talking to the store now um I don't really understand what they want to do at this point as far as the criminal aspect of it um the deputy that's over there he'll come down here and talk to you in just a second and we'll figure everything out I really do appreciate you calming down for me though I was worried about you there for a minute so do did you have an episode or something like that or what train of episode what made you act like that besid you being upset I need what kind of care do you need is it medical care or I've already got medical care I'm just trying to take care of myself that's all and that's what the food and stuff like that's for yeah I'm sorry you're going through a lot there's a lot of resources out there though to help you and if you need some help finding some we can give you some numbers you know what I mean I just don't want to see you steal from stores to try to feed yourself you know I hate that you have to do that but I'd rather give you some good
