on December 29th 2022 officers responded to a car theft the victim had left her car running with the ignition on when another woman entered her driveway and took it as captured in the CCTV footage the police later identified the female along with another male inside the car near a Walmart store here's what the victim told the officer hello you have a picture of the car and you have the plate um yeah I should have it somewhere so this is the girl I literally came inside for my stupid coffee you just always think it's not going to happen to you and boom especially like around here like towards the university yeah it's usually not terrible yeah ites no it doesn't occur much over here it happens but I mean just like that you know especially like five minutes like I was waiting for my coffee to brew and I thought I heard something and I'm like no and then I come out here I'm like what it happen she doesn't look familiar to you at all mm-m it's going to sound embarrassing but I think I think my license plate is on a different report cuz I tried to um my son's father recently tried to steal the car too oh really and I believe I gave a license plate on that report okay cuz obviously she came walking or something yeah she came walking from that way oh so she came this way yeah she came this way so let me check cuz I know there's a chickf play- right here too right yeah right behind us might have a camera so either them or I was thinking that the bar on the corner cuz if she came from that way they would see her for sure I'd appreciate it yeah of course bring up step out toward him if you run I'm going to pop the door set my dog and I'm going to bite you okay walk straight over to that officer I'm not trying to give you guys a hard time man okay I appreciate you tell my son see if they could give me a right to the bank yeah cuz I found I found this uh $100 bill actually right here the and I'm trying to get to the bank to see if they would uh C it for me make it good it's right here in my wallet and I I just went we stopped at the well Pargo right there in downtown and they told me well your bank should be able to cash that $100 bill for you I why they sent you down here at Wells Fargo I said well they they told me I went there yesterday but they told me Wells Fargo would be the ones to cat it so I'm that's why I'm here in Well Fargo and who who were the people in the vehicle with you uh that's I guess that's my my son's friend where's your son I just the first time I I don't I don't know her I I just I they just pick me up right now here's what the man told the police and then you said your father was the other one yeah it's my dad she just gave us a r right here it's the First Convenience Bank did you pick you guys up from your house or what uh no we were actually walking man I was walking all my stuff that's my stuff in the trunk that's my belongings and she seen us walking and she gave us a ride CU I was pulling my basket there's my basket of stuff I'm just going through some things with my baby's mom right now so you seen us walking I know her from before she's my buddy's sister she was like hey you guys want to ride on me I was just like yeah if you don't mind giving us R the First Convenience and we just came up here and like she barely picked us up right now probably 15 20 minutes ago but she didn't tell us where'd you guys pick you guys up from she picked us up right there by the mission by Community oh okay yeah but like she like she mentioned to us say this vehicle stole in or nothing like so you guys were just walking she pulled up yeah do you know her he said she was your buddy's she's my buddy's sister yeah your buddy sister that makes sense I mean she saw you guys walking she I know this guy will pick them up and yeah the thing is that I was walking my belongings too mean so I was like H yeah if you don't mind giving us a ride trying to get us a hotel room for the and then who was the driver of the vehicle how many people were in the vehicle with you um they picked me up at the at the Gospel Mission I The Gospel Mission I been finished eating and I tell my son I said can you get give me was your son in there with him yeah see where was he sitting where was he what where was he sitting in the vehicle he was sitting right there where he was I don't know where that is on the passenger side yeah in the front uhhuh and then who was sitting in the driver's side the the girl was sitting in the on the driver's side what's the girl's name I don't know her you don't know her I don't know her what do they call her I really don't know it's the first time I I see her okay it's the first time I see her I don't know who she was I think she's my son's friend you know and who was it was just you three in the car or who else was in there yeah no just what's your son's name just them two and then I got under right now go and face the tire sir I'm going go and take these off of you all right all right M take off these handcuffs you need to go ahead and place your hand above your head okay all right you can relax Mr Mr so that they don't have to absolutely you're good Mr you can relax shortly afterward the officers were able to locate the female suspect as well came AR my son hat like 40 bucks ask if we get a r she's in the AR or not she's in the Arby's right now yes she asked me I don't she had a she's changed she like came into the she came right now she still right now she has like a like a like black on black okay she have a pink s on there no she changed I saw her I'm go this side hi hi is there anybody else in the bathroom yes someone just walked in yes uh girl I think so anybody else no it was just one okay I didn't see her was in the restroom but I think she walked in the B hi hi come over here yes what just relax you I'm not doing anything we got let go of your fingers what's going on Candy what okay this no not that one we bring everything to you been I'm one of the detectives with LCPD um she's one of my buddy's friends I mean I'm sorry one of my buddies sisters and your buddy sisters how long have you known her for um I've known her brother for years probably about 10 years now but I just ran into right now she recognized me she gave us a ride but um so there's another thing I want to ask you I know last time I had run with you guys like um I assisted a couple of your officers with some like info and stuff to see if you could help metronor cardig just cuz and it's not cuz I was going to jail or nothing it was just to I mean just to help out mean to to be I guess do the right thing and try and help you guys out you know I mean so right now I'm wondering if there's any way I can maybe like speak to Metron artics officers here if we can like maybe like I can leave them I know a lot of people hearing crues and stuff you mean so see if you can help me out F to pay fines you mean I can help them out with some so you just like with the intent of not going in for the warrant that you have right now is that so the warrant man there's nothing they can really do about it um if you want I'll reach out to one of the Metro guys and see if they want to talk to you but the warrant Warr man you're still going to have to go in on it just cuz it's in the system the female did not comply with the police and instead requested to be taken to the police station I don't know if they've talked to you at all anything yet I know they found you over here inside the Arby's yeah I was um do you want to talk to me about the vehicle itself no I was an AR's eating I got dropped off here you didn't get dropped off the officer saw you run away from over there that's why I'm asking if you want to talk to me at all about it if not I'll just stolen vehicle and resisting obstruction so they actually have video camera I rested in the put my jacket on negative man cuz you're going have to take it off the either way once you get to the GC
