on January 13 2021 a Doraville police officer pulled over a vehicle for a speeding violation in Atlanta Georgia he clocked a red sedan traveling at 88 miles per hour in a posted 65 miles per hour Zone when a police officer asked why it took him that long to pull over the driver said he was listening to music and didn't see him [Music] let me see driver's license well I just took so long stop why'd it take so long to stop because I didn't know that you was so you didn't see the blue lights or hear the sirens I mean I mean you can't hear my sirens so your music was so loud that you couldn't hear my sirens okay so listen you're doing 88 miles an hour in a 65 mile an hour Zone any reason why you're speeding yeah so like Justified to use the speed to do over 20 miles an hour above the speed limit I realized I was trying to slow down okay because when I got behind you with my blue lights and my Sirens especially my lights are so bright right here their bonding me just looking back at him I find it hard to believe that you couldn't see him it I find that hard to believe is there anything legal in the car I didn't know about huh no there's no drugs in the car no weapons no nothing like that okay sit down for one second I'll be right back eleven eight three I'm 10 25. [Applause] oh um okay so you don't have any right now okay you can either try to get something now and I won't tell your vehicle I'll write you a ticket and you'll be on your way or I tow your vehicle and impounded okay those are your two options so go and continue trying to get some yes okay so I'm going out there and find your vehicle then I can't let you drive on the highways of the state without insurance I mean um I mean I well I do have insurance but it's under my uh my company okay what company so is this your personal vehicle yes okay so the company doesn't own this all right listen listen listen you're comp just because you have you work for a company that has insurance doesn't mean that their insurance covers your personal vehicle no it's they have it's this is their car so it's so right now I'm I'm paying the payments slim correct yes and they said you have to have insurance on this vehicle correct no date I'm covered under them I just have my papers at home okay but did you not just tell me that you're trying to get insurance now no I'm trying to get my own insurance from them but I'm using there okay it doesn't work like that because right now the state's showing that there's no insurance on this vehicle at all but it is covered like okay so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna in boundary vehicle because you're telling me that you can't get insurance until next week but yeah you're telling me that the company is trying to insures this vehicle so what you're gonna do is I'm gonna write Shield citation and pound your vehicle and um you can come to court on the court date and they can uh sir I'm not going to argue with you on the side of the road sir can you just write me a ticket no well I am going to write your ticket but I'm also going to impound the vehicle because there's no insurance 1183 radio go and start me at 1051 1096. okay sorry I'm not gonna argue with you okay unfortunately by the Georgia state law there has to be Insurance on this vehicles Insurance on this vehicle I am I'm not going to argue with you I made my decision okay sit tight excuse me sir if you leave I'm gonna take you to jail you could be you're going to be running insurance and he said that he was going to drive off from the traffic stop put his seatbelt on put the car in park and drive and started pulling off a little bit so yes I asked him there's the vehicle multiple times and he refused he just sat there and looked at me no so because I I I have my insurance but it's at home and they're gonna send me a a card that was I'll pay whatever I I need for the ticket but I need to get home insurance it weren't past that point now sir please how old are you I'm 27. you've been arrested before do you understand like where we're coming from you didn't stop initially and then you're telling me no I was going to stop I was just scared hey man but you see foreign they told me that you I gave you options what you could do and then you told me oh well I can't get insurance until next week so now I have to impound the vehicle you didn't like that idea so then you tell me I'm about to drive off I try to work with you you force this on yourself we're showing that there's no insurance on the car but especially the rgcic and then the state shows that there's no insurance on the vehicle at all and then he told me that you were you were trying to get he was charged with speeding failure to obey an authorized person directing traffic operating a vehicle without insurance and was transported to DeKalb County Jail hey Salon if you can go in and secure them I'm almost done with these tickets here and I'll bring them up to your car yeah he's 22. oh yeah anytime we think somebody's a little iffy like that let's not have a gear transforming let's do it okay yeah I guess he's not combative or nothing no there's a chance he could be yeah therefore um 25 West 1 and 1 4 miles away from the Ashford Dunwoody exit a hard time locate
