hey yes are are are you injured are you on the hood of the car okay all right relax we're going to sort it all out I hope so on September 30th 2023 Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a hit and run crash in Palm Coast Florida before arriving deputies were notified by fcso Dispatch that the suspect was Cheryl Henderson 76 Witnesses told deputies that Henderson had been involved in a minor vehicle crash with another driver however as she drove away from the scene she struck the other driver and then fled with the driver hanging onto the hood of her vehicle when he stepped out of his car Henderson sped up forcing him to jump onto her car's Hood to avoid being run over she reached an estimated speed of 50 mph Henderson was stopped approximately 2 mi later when she was forced off the road by another witness to the incident what's going on here he stood in front of my car and he said said you want to go ahead and repeat what you told me to this Deputy here okay I was in the I was behind him and I had my blinker on and then he decided he was going to pass me I was I there was another Lane to turn and then I was in the one to the right of it and then he jumped on the hood of my car and he says I'm going to sue your ass my car is $91,000 I don't care what kind of car and what it cost I was getting here to zero miles where did you hit another car I didn't hit him he hit me there was an accident somewhere someone made you that was the accident where he hit me with with Bel te and uh with that what's say gas station uh on Cyprus Point on Cypress the Circle K or yeah that's that's what it is so you you were you were about you behind him or in front of them did he get your ID I guess no I'm trying to think okay I I I was in I forgot I I don't know where the hell I was I guess take a second just try to remember cuz that's how I'm going to be able to do my job oh I want you to do your job I used to do your job probably before you were born probably anyway okay I I'm here okay I guess he he was in the left lane he was wanted to go in the right lane he hit me tapped me and then he jumped on the hood my car you were trying to go past them well no I got no gas I was going into the gas station I I'm going to pick my keys up let me just show you that's fine I believe your gas zero miles to to fuel okay so but what I'm trying to get is you were both on the road at some point correct absolutely and he would he wouldn't even let me was a place car but he wouldn't even let me stop the car he I'm going on the hood of your car you drive I'm going to say you hit me that's exactly so you were probably here right and he was here I I guess he was there I just got out of the freaking hospital for this and that's where did he turn into you yeah I don't know if he turned into me I know he did you guys stop it all after that I stopped but he jumped on the hood of my car and he said I'm not getting off I'm not getting off the hood of the car and he says and now you're going to go to jail because you you're I'm on the hood of your car and you're driving I'm trying to get I where did he jump on the hood of your car in the middle of the street where on the road where on this road like like where this m believe that's a car like did did you jump on your hooded car right here right no on Cypress Point on but right there yeah right there is there a reason why you kept driving and didn't just stop he wouldn't he jumped on the H he says I'm I'm going on the hood of your car he says my car is $91,000 got a piece of what made you think to continue driving I was getting off I was going to get off the gas station was there I want there's a lot of traffic I just wanted to get there was a lot you know how you know how far you drove with this guy on the hood of your car I begged him to get off the hood of my car why didn't you stop the traffic all you had to do is put your foot on the brake and stop you could have killed this man with him on the hood of your car for almost probably over a mile can I tell you something can you don't jump on someone's car in the middle of traffic and make up a Li and make up a lie like he's making up you you're going to give me $91,000 for my car that piece of your driver he's he's talking you should okay but you still decided to drive I just I drove to get off to get off I was getting off I stopped I had my blinker on and I wanted to the gas station was right there that's all that's all all right just just sit here I'm not going any I want to turn the air on I'm dying where are your keys no just I know it's hot just stay still said I'm going to the gas station I said no you need to wait right here turn your car off and wait right here she said no going to the gas station she didn't go to the gas station she just kept driv where where did the initial accident happened over by Aspen watch that we were coming off of Palm Coast in that parking lot no no we were going straight going down uh Coast toward US1 okay and I was in this Lane the turn lane was over here and she was in this Lane over here and I was going straight to US1 and she took a left in front of me and hit the front end of my truck you got your on I think it's Bel Tera where Aspen's at mhm and then uh I tried to get her to stop she went stop so I got in front of her so she just bring him back need I got the lane box here yeah just away from here watch out her hands I guess yeah I was uh I was going straight she was in this Lane I didn't even see her my wife yelled at me she turned here hit the front of my truck and then she kept going so I went around her got in front of her to stop her I walked up to her she had her window down she said I I'm going to get gas I said well you need to stay right here till the police get here and uh she said no I'm going to get gas and she kept trying to get around me and get around me so I got in front of the car and she was trying to run me over and it's gget so I grabbed the hood she had to be doing 50 60 MPH through here I told her you got to stop I'm going to fall off and she said that's your problem so I mean I don't want to be mean to her but yeah but she needed to stay where it was at you know of course um we can talk hindsight later but so you jumped on the hood of her car about where your wife's truck where I guess truck at yes sir did they tell her I'm down here I think my Sergeant did yeah okay um so again you were on the parkway you were in the left lane she was in here she cut in front of you yes and you guys met with the front of your car and corner of her car like that her front hit by front right here sir can I get your phone number so you guys hit and then she kept she made the left to go down Bel yes sir and you guys kind of follow each other did you stop in front of her with your truck at all in front of her with my truck like had an angle stop her all right she stopped She stopped at that point yes she stopped rolled the window down and talked to her mhm I said she said I'm going to get gas I said you need to just shut your car off until the police get here and then she said no I'm going to get gas and I stood in front of her car she kept trying to go and she just G me I was screaming okay so I'm surprised I didn't see and I was trying to get her to stop I said I'm going to fall off she said that's your problem I'm sure they already asked you heard it all no fingers are a little bruised from holding out of the hood old age sucks BR good job holding on though I got problem all right just hang out here for me and see what we're going to do I'll get it I'll get it I'll get it that's the only one I saw even had a freaking ticket do you says I'm sick over this he says I'm going to jump on the hood of your car and then you're going to get sued for $91,000 because you hit me I never hit him why would I did you know you were in an accident at any point yes I of course I knew I I says let's pull over husband cuz he's he is going to be very worried we just got both got out of the hospital bu and Bap C first this one and then back the sound she tried to make a left turn from the Middle Lane I course he's got a $91,000 card she called me if you would have heard that she called me you wouldn't want your mother to hear what you call is the lady in the truck with him she she was in the truck or was she in another car was it that the lady you're talking about I'm talking about a lady that was in another car that's that's all I know she came she got out she called me a four-letter word and I'm probably getting ready to go on the corner to go to make my $20 is that people have all sorts of weird judgments of others trust me I'm not threaten threaten me I'm notat I know after hearing from Witnesses and examining accounts from both parties involved in the accident deputies also had the opportunity to review video footage of the incident sir do you want to write a statement on what happened sure you do yeah second it's going to be hot but back killing So based on everything we got obviously as far as the crash goes she's going to be labeled as a victim one based on statements from you statements from everyone else that was on scene okay which means she's at fall okay as far as the rest of are you willing to pursue charges on her leaving the scene of the accident no I don't want to I don't want to do anything are you willing to pursue charges for aggravated battery which would be with the vehicle I really don't want to get her in any trouble but you know so you don't want to pursue charges that's completely up to you long she'll take care of my truck like I said as far as the crash goes does she have insurance yeah she's got an insurance she's got that stuff so my partner is up there working on the crash report side of it which is basically again like I said it's going to put her at fault so if you're going to go through Insurance you contact your insurance you give them the case number there'll be a crash report done and the insurance is usually handle it that way so as far as that goes it should be handled the second half of the the second it's going to be all on the paperwork that any her insurance is good yeah okay as far as the second half of that goes her leaving the scene of that accident and then driving you basically what a mile or so down the road on the hood of the car going what you say 50 60 I yeah I would assume so seem pretty fast those those are crimes if you don't want to pursue I'm going to have you sign this but if you do want to pursue well there's two parts of this one you do want to pursue one you don't want to pursue so that's up to you I mean understand that she took you on a ride on a car you could have easily fell off the car I was falling off I was trying to get her to stop she you could have very easily been dead and uh somebody else in the future might have a okay I'll press Char okay I can't tell you what to do understand I understand I just feel bad for her but you just stay there be quite honest with you I don't feel bad car could have killed you could have killed someone else I have no no empathy for see this hand so right now you're being placed under arrest for leaving the scene of an accident an aggravated battery arated battery for driving with that man on the hood of your car he jumped on the
