on May 1st 2022 the ostell police department received a report of a shooting on the road in ostell Georgia the victims a driver with their passenger and two children claimed the suspect cut them off and then fired two shots at their car leaving a Bullet Hole In The Hood they followed the suspect keeping the police updated on his location ostell police pulled over the suspect's vehicle and for safety reasons they approached the vehicle with caution ordering the suspect to step out at gunpoint he was handcuffed and detained for questioning [Music] TR what the hell did I do sir two we got one in custody I'm going to put him in your car what the hell did I do I'll talk to you in just a second I'm TR friend of what the hell is that all you got anything on you post me for him that's down make sure he ain't got no weapons any weapons in the car all right I got officers informed the suspect of the reason for his detainment the report of him shooting at another car on the road the suspect denied the accusation but did admit to having a gun in his car a gun in my car all right we'll have a SE so this is what's going on we got a call saying you shot at another vehicle as you was going down the road that vehicle was following you that's how we know it was you that's fine but it's just not true no it's not why would I shoot at somebody I don't know that's what we're trying to figure out yeah my guns are just I don't randomly just shoot at people I was going to see one of my friends just flew in town from Colorado I have no issues with nobody okay well why was you going in and out of traffic because traffic is traffic it's like but you got in a Turnal Lane and you drum back into the oh because that person was driving slow you know you're not supposed to do that oh I'm sorry that's what I'm in trouble for I apologize for that but that's I try to get down the RO turn put your leg in so what's the investigation we're going to uh figure out what uh about this shooting that happened that they said you did so just cuz somebody said something happened I could be in trouble yeah you shot out of a moving vehicle we got to do an investigation I didn't shoot okay well I didn't but go ahead and do your investigation sir go ahead where's that gun at in your vehicle it's in my glove compartment I don't even keep the clip in it it's in my glove compartment I have an extra clip they're both in my glove compartment okay give me just a minute hey hey saying the guns in the glove box [Applause] yeah I did not know Douglas was out there behind me I was like man if this man pulls over we spent rounds out of this how many uh maybe I move that sleep that little thatass SC it up up the top this a 15 round 16 round mag see 14 so missing two how many how many they shot old officers spoke with the victims two males with two children in the car the driver still shaken from the ordeal recounted the events he told officers that the suspect cut them off on the road and then fired Two Shots directly at their car the officers observed a bullet hole on the hood of the car a clear sign of gunfire and documented it with photographs for evidence I don't know where the I only he two so you did you did hear two I hear two okay we got two missing from the thing so piece of [ __ ] unied not running you got your ID on [Applause] your he got some shot to the head of the car Charlie Alpha Romeo 8175 C A1 8175 yeah he definitely shot it oh he said he heard two rounds too shot to he don't know that you know at that point I was like ho [ __ ] and then my buddy's like he hit the but we weren't even like right next to him he was like I shot out like was like this roll this window down didn't say [ __ ] just firing Two Shots up didn't say a word he shot out of the passenger window or the driver no it was out of the we were on he was driving right here he was back so I was he cut me off with like no room and I went up to the side and he pulled down his back window and shot that driver passenger B passenger yes passer back all right I'm going to see if there's cas's in the car oh you did you didn't see anything how about to say there's going to be something in here somewhere and we kid in the vehicle two kids so that's recruiting the children as well officers also found a bullet casing under the back seat potentially linking suspect to the shooting l 17 Dallas Val of blue 991 color St Dallas AC4 got one huh found one one yep you got gloves in your car what you got I got it never mind yeah go ahead yeah yeah but it's only one so I don't know what the other one is though yeah I got one y crazy man behind me I I didn't know where my closest unit was I don't know where my closest unit is and I seen him starting to pull over I was like a [ __ ] I about to hang out there throwing the mat to I saw the B go by I said8 yeah yeah I was like man the passenger corroborated the driver's story adding that he woke up and saw the suspect's car pull up next to them and started shooting so tell tell me what happened uh I was sleeping in the passenger seat Buddy says what the hell happened there this guy cut me off I wake up uh the car's like a foot in front of us he pulls up beside him rolls down the window goes like this guy rolls down his window goes shoots twice what the hell and we followed him and called you guys okay you got this my welcome to America 36 copyright of Canada 27 where exactly did it happen at what's that where did it exactly happen at like do you know was that like the road and stuff was y'all paying ATT no I mean it was on this road I mean we probably named off about six streets we were crossing I didn't know what we coming up across been here yeah I got you people little FAS K got I would have got shot in front of my kids for what is exactly where did it happen I told him right before Garrett like when we we called him as soon as it happened so whatever that we said like Thorton and Garrett or whatever I know it's important left that that that's the soonest because you know it's there's nothing out there you know was it right it okay it was after Governors they keep going probably just drive back there I don't even remember I mean dude I was so after after Governor yes it was way after Governor meanwhile another officer advised the suspect of his Miranda Rights and asked if he was willing to answer questions and provide his statement he agreed but maintained his innocence of shooting at anyone and claimed the bullet casings were from a recent trip to the shooting range you ready yeah for you have the right to remain silent anything you say can and will be used to you against you in the court of law you have the right to speak to an attorney and have an attorney present during question if you cannot afford an attorney one will be provided for you MH do you understand the right side I just read to you with these in mind do you wish to talk to me yeah sure okay what happened nothing I'm driving and somebody apparently said I shot at him I'm driving down to see my girl well I want say my girlfriend my friend flew in to from Colorado I'm driving down the street to see her it's typical Georgia [ __ ] driving like I didn't take it I don't know what what the hell's going on okay you sure yes cuz we found spent cases he's saying you shy he's got a bullet hole in his hood we found spent cases in yes it is I go to the shoo range all the time I have cases in my car all the time he raing your all what happened you want to talk to us I don't matter listen what the hell's going on I always have I say always but I I find sh case in my cars I go to the range a lot I don't I can't explain his car listen we're asking you what happened to I don't nothing I'm driving down the street to see a friend from Colorado I literally just dropped my kids off to my mom's house what's your name Sam Sam Sam listen so we normally don't have someone call 91 saying somebody shooting at them and ding out yeah it's freaking weird listen listen let me talk for a something okay goad usually we don't have somebody call 911 saying somebody's shooting at them and they got bullet holes in their car and then so that's why I'm giving you this is the only opportunity I'm going to give you if there was a road rage incident or something going on between you and this other guy that's what we're trying to find out because this the only opportunity I'm going to give you a chance to talk to us and give us your side of the store so that's why I'm trying to ask was there something going on between you and this other VIP over here after continued questioning and presented with the evidence the suspect finally changed his story yet again legit honestly no honestly yeah yeah he pulled up next to me okay he spit out my car and then I saw him reach for something so I just reach I just did try to defend myself that's what happened what do you mean you Tred to fill yourself tell me defend myself he he pulled up next to me screaming whatever where right next to me where were at to my right com down Dallas Highway not 278 and he sit there spit him and his friend cursing I saw him pop the glove apart I don't know what the hell they about to do there was a I don't know why he was mad I still don't know why he was mad were yall like yeah he pulled up next to me rolled down his windows screaming I was and then what spit and then I saw him buddy then what did you do I shoted twice because I saw him reach for something but you didn't did you didn't see what he had I didn't see am I supposed to wait no I'm just asking okay cuz he sitting there doing doing like tur [ __ ] like [ __ ] mother then he sit there and reach okay all right and there's two of them in the car and just one of me well there's kids in that car too well I you see I just dropped off my car dropped off my kids I have car seats I have kids too to worry about all right understand watch watch your legs can you turn on AC for me yeah we turn it off okay well that answer that [Music] yeah yeah yeah behind um at U going across the water water we I him time yeah just gu keeps pulling the circle the second time he circles around here anyway uh there's a couple things uh Mitchell Miranda asked him he want to not really be truthful and then we explain to him this is his opportunity tell us what happened he was explaining the car pulled upside him he spit on his car and he didn't know what he was going to do so he shot at him twice is that what you got so because he says he didn't know what he had in his hand and all that talk to the guy see if they got any weapons in the car ask him you mind if research just to make sure cuz his story is he was scared and you don't shoot in the car like that yeah uh and uh see if he might y'all looking in his car make sure he have guns in there okay you already got the other [Applause] guys hey what you going have is you going to have you got kids in the car you going to have four counts aggravated Sal uh on him yeah shooting into that car cuz man if he to shot into those windows might have some dead children there so we got to get the names names and ages of the kids look that let me get on the phone with uh see how Okay the police needed to verify the suspect's self-defense claim they retrieved the gun from the victim's car and confirmed it was legal most importantly the driver and all the passengers in the car denied the suspect's allegation that the driver reached for a weapon uh you got any weapons in the I have one in the department you mind me uh look at it no hey don't don't go to we got it okay go but I okay 38 there did you have anything in your hands whenever he pulled up beside you no okay cuz he was he tried to say that you had something in your hand he just didn't know what it was [ __ ] just got asked a question I know I what he says he was probably dude we never even got closer to him didn't even see her say anything to and like it was like nothing like his window was already down and it was wav like it was it was Eerie yeah and I thought he shot over that's like like it didn't even that he really shot cuz I was like what why you shoot yeah like no I have kids the point and even then if I was going to would I followed him or I could engage in a gunfight yeah just so I'm going to ask y' can you all tell me what happened I I don't know you don't know I just I knew that just be honest it's okay I think was uh he was riding um he was driving and then um he cut us off and then he started shooting times that's what happened can yeah just back up that okay he was charged with four counts of aggravated assault with a weapon discharge of a gun near a public highway or Street and cruelty to children in the second degree [ __ ] hurts so bad I got you okay let me Lo let me loosen that up a little bit just killing me oh my god do y'all can people bind out today uh I'm not sure not not what what we got going on with you okay not I'm not sure like I said I don't know what's going on with me you got four counts of aggravated assaults four yes there's four people in that car what the [ __ ] so the fact that they pulled up next to me in initiated it and now I felt like I was I wasn't even trying to hit nobody I was trying to get them away from me I did not know what they were doing there's a there's a list of things you can can do before you start shooting what am I supposed to okay not going go there but what am I supposed to wait for am I supposed to sit there argue with them and hope make hey what do you have what are you pulling out listen right now is not the time to argue that I'm asking no I'm asking I'm not arguing well I'm going to take you back to the police department okay
