on May 9th 2024 a woman arrived at the Honda of South Miami to test drive a new 2024 Honda Civic during the test drive she waited for the salesperson to exit the car and when he did she drove off the Miami Dade Police Department alerted law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for the stolen car a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper located the vehicle and tried to conduct a traffic stop the driver refused to stop and continued driving recklessly at a high rate of speed I'm try to get you got count we are 26 sou now approaching 34 Street number 34 the she on the right shoulder now Hur traic get to 58 street I'm behind it I'm behind it 560 behind is south bound 826 or p258 [Music] take apprach Street on the RO uh getting till 36 trying to catch up I'm trying to get to him but uh southbound 236 South how take the radio the pursuit came to an end when she approached standstill traffic on an exit ramp and collided with three other vehicles causing the stolen car to become disabled behind vehicle she still going she still for vehicle multiple sign 4 multiple sign 4 she's trapped inside the car the driver's side door the St vehicle had become inoperable so she attempted to get out of the vehicle through the passenger side door which was pinned against a concrete barrier while Troopers yelled at her to exit the vehicle she opened the passenger side door hopped over the barrier and jumped into a nearby water canal WHYY she's in the water1 1155 what's the direction she's on the water on the right side on the right side of the ramp other law enforcement agencies are red at the scene and threw safety ropes to help her to land but she refused to grab the ropes police officers ultimately jumped into the water and after a brief struggle she was taken into custody behind I was in the lane all the way over and then I don't know who was was you all right we need right up there down all somebody up there get TR [Music] yeah theen she was taken to a local medical center and cleared for booking at the Miami day jail that was behind the car [Music] oh
