on April 2nd 2022 a routine day for a Dunwoody Police Officer took an unexpected turn at Perimeter Mall in Atlanta Georgia the officer on the verge of leaving was drawn to screams and commotion involving a pregnant female a male and a hogendos ice cream employee the officer intervened urging all parties to calm down go ahead now you come I don't she she want out go ahead come on she tried now she did try it try what she basically she got she got a razor blade and [ __ ] so she she was like giv what's up hey y got you got aade aade we're done yelling this is ridiculous no somebody to get take down and not or we're going to goe I understand I asked y'all to calm down I'm caling down but when when when you got employees care yet I have not gotten to talk to anybody settle down yeah I I just want the I took okay I used to wear the ice cream shop employee shared her version of the story explaining that a simple call of next led to a heated exchange with a brother and sister standing in line the tension escalated and an object was thrown at the employee so what's going on so I'm having a wrong day okay I didn't say nothing to nobody every day that I'm at my register I go like day next not even if if it's a million people I have to take back for my people to come down they do s that at me everybody saw that they do a whole bottle of soda me I don't even want to stress the issue cuz I don't want to R in a j she's pregnant okay I just told keep me on I came from behind I said what happened she still her boyfriend still com in my face com in my face I I'm I work here I come to work every day okay breathe for me I know you're frustrated I know it's a long day bre they hit me my back with something I don't even care I don't I don't even want to do nothing about it I don't care everybody knows me is more okay okay I come here I don't St with nobody I do my job if I if you standing on my line and they're dealing with you another one of my co-workers and say next why would you say to me why the [ __ ] are you saying next I'm ordering okay I'm not talking to you ma'am I'm talking to the people behind you I got you so what's the thing about some kind of why you list to these people I have to get their side and your side I just came out and told them to come they said going to do something to me so I told them to come come come come you can ask play on knife nothing okay like I don't do stuff like this man I don't even get involved with police I don't not I don't get in trouble nothing calm down for me I'm literally just getting your statement and their statement right now because I'm standing up there trying to grab drink before I leave and all of a sudden no you're good that's fine you get a free drink no no I wasn't even going here I was just grabbing something upstairs trying to leave oh I'm sorry you're you're all good I just hear yelling and I see everybody swarming around them attacking me I'm like and then your boyfriend is yelling like okay so as far as something getting thrown on you or whatever you're not my bag right here it hurts but I'm not I don't want to do she's pregnant I just what about So when you say attacking you talking like verbally just like screaming and then they started throwing stuff but I'm like it doesn't even matter okay I don't want this at my job I don't want my boss to be thinking that like I just want to leave it alone are you to get back I don't want to be blocking you if you're trying to go by okay so I mean no at least the one guy seemed pretty calm about everything like you know so we're just we're just trying to see what's going on cuz I was up there and saw a bunch of screaming going on and got to come down and check it out my job too okay what was that I just tried to what happened okay so it sounds like I guess she said next and a couple got agitated I was saying like next and the lady said um we're [ __ ] ordering like and I'm like I'm talking to the people behind you because they were just standing but why does it matter if I say next I do it all the time at my job nobody complain you're pregnant and you're angry that's that's that's all that's about okay I got all right I'm going to go get their statements so go I know you're at work so I'm sure I can find you again in a minute but I'm see what the officer aiming to understand both perspectives spoke with the brother and sister who claimed the employees rudeness and alleged threats involving a razor blade they expressed their desire to press charges calmly now can we walk through what happened yes okay so we come at the line as normal customers just trying to get some ice cream so the young lady behind the bar we don't care about she she was just rud off off she was just yelling at everybody so you know like tra like hey you can she said it Cal she said hey can you try to talk to us a little bit better so she's like why you so [ __ ] miserable and all this stuff you turn a child as an employee you're not supposed to even talk to your customers like that number one well you don't even greet none of those she didn't greet us which is okay because that's a little child stuff but when but when it comes to you trying to talk [ __ ] behind Cal like lady we about to give you our money like we don't have to really be here and then she threw something and it's like it was just like [ __ ] just went crazy so I said ma'am you was being rude I was trying to be the middle person I hey you know between anyway get her my she yeah all that she had she had a razor blade literally so she's trying to she was trying to like really like try to cut us so by me being a male I was like you know like Tre you pregnant I can't have this or whatever so anyway [ __ ] escalated but she started by in a place but I do want to talk to a manager I don't give a [ __ ] but she she need not to be she need not to be behind there she need not to be behind here but I do apologize just just for the record when the cop tells y'all to settle down I understand yall but y'all need to settle down okay because at that point it's my safety y safety it's her safety I don't know what's going on because obviously I was just up there trying to leave when I see everybody gathering around and I see you guys yelling you trying to drag her away and somebody else yelling and screaming I don't know what's going on so when I tell youall to settle it down take it down a notch take it down a not right okay I understand but she did make threats and she didn't have a razor blade in her hand so I don't know what we have to do to press charges again her I'm willing to do it because she's with child I need both of Y information okay yall have like IDs or yeah that's why the cops is here and cops all right so I guess just recapping so it started with she stay next she was like she was really like yelling really rude which that's cool we overlooking that but when it comes to that's how we started but went what really made us tick off because she she's talking about my sister why the [ __ ] you so miserable you you having a child it doesn't matter if she my sister she was very polite and she was calm I know I'm very calm it takes a lot for me to really go from zero to 100 I try to be the custom and then but the major key is she she had a weapon before the weapon I know that there was statements about stuff being thrown what was she threw she threw and I threw my ice cream cone at soda ice yes okay yes she but no no that's why the cops are here it's okay she cra yeah okay so what specifically what statement did she make towards you about I guess she said that she will cut her baby out let me let I'm just literally okay she just said she told me that she would cut my baby out like she you like hold the razor blade she had the razor she open it okay what silver one of like the silver Square little ones the one that you flick out yeah maybe it about about a p l yeah for me just second to unravel the truth the officer approached the store manager requesting video footage of the incident Ma I'm going to sneak right behind you I got to oh okay go ahead are you the the manager for the day yes do you have access to the cameras uh yes okay I'd like to to see the camera possible great you know uh when it's like 65 yeah would start with 650 that's proba a good guess so you say 650 so okay so D here good night up just a little bit like just this smge I want to see I guess who touch from first I don't I don't see see seems like they threw something or right so she threw whatever that is and then he threw the ice cream phone I know that but he also reached across so I want to see what happened there see see the Carone right she so she reached over for her phone which isn't okay she threw the whatever Cup this is he threw the ice cream phone over here and then she goes back and grabs some type of silver thing which they believe razor blade and is threatening to C baby baby is there any way to FP that and it to you the video uh I mean I done the whole video but just like a section sorry SE from like 51 to 651 to like 7:00 yeah okay I can't do that right now I'll give you information so you can do it at another time if you need to like at the end of the night or whatever I'm not too worried about having it at this moment cuz I've seen it I would just like to have it for evidence the video revealed a complex scenario the employee started recording the brother and sister leading the maale to attempt to snatch her phone in retaliation a drink was thrown at him and he responded by tossing his ice cream the employee holding a can bottle opener confronted the mail is it Miss gray yes okay so can you explain to me what the thing was that you came over here and gra I had the thing that was in my hand for my job Miss what thing I had this thing in my hand I was making ice cream when I ran out and where Mak pops okay bre for me okay I know you're upset right now oh my God I want you to walk me through because this is this is what I've seen on a video okay I watched the video I watched him try to grab your phone when you started the video tap which is perfectly in your right okay so I watched him try to snatch your phone you throw a cup of something he throws an ice cream first he tried to snatch your phone first then you threw a cup of something he throws the ice cream which I'll both in the wrong for that but I'm not that's not where we're at right now so he he's the instigator because he did grab something first okay so he's about to get charged with that but my thing is I've got them stating that you were holding something claiming you were going to cut her baby out pause pause listen to me okay I've got them stating that and then I watch Once he throws the ice cream cone you shove the little thing so you can get over there you come all the way back over here and grab something on video that I see is silver and shine shy hold it in your hand like this and then you go over there and I swear to God it was not nothing I grabbed something that was over here at the job and I ran out to protect myself it's two people against one I had no I I came out I said like what's the problem when I first spoke to her at the line I said Ma'am why are you so angry with me like why you're pregnant why are you angry she's like I'm not angry what are you talking about I'm not angry all this okay so when I ran out I P I grabbed the thing over here I swear exactly what you got okay so that's what they're thinking is a you say you're trying I say I was going to cut Miss I have four children that doesn't matter why would I cut her baby I would not say that ma'am I would not cut no baby I I would not even play with nobody baby like that I said that's why I went out I said you know what you're pregnant we just was arguing I didn't come to her face I didn't get in her face nothing I said come to me I didn't jump in her face or anything okay go ahead and grab your stuff for me okay you are going to be placed under arrest right now okay no ma' grab your property that you would like to take with you if you want to leave it here that's fine but I would grab your property if you want to take you being do this to me yes ma'am you being okay please man okay so are they going to get in trouble for throwing stuff at me and her in my back he is getting in trouble for he's getting in trouble for snatching the phone he's getting sortly conduct for starting the whole thing okay but you're also getting in charge because they've got reasonable fear for their safety with you coming after them with but they was after me too no they were walking the other way you shove stuff to go around and go after him they would not the other way are you going to grab your first or we just going to go this is not fair so are they going to let me out am I going to be in trouble forever we're not going to be in trouble forever I'm going to have to talk to a judge to get warrants and it'll issue you a bond okay you'll be able to bond out all right a lot of money I don't know how much money okay that's not up to me it's up to a judge are we going to grab your purse or we I'm going to be able to bond out today I don't know okay I'm not there yet it's all up to a j can we just leave it alone can I just apologize to them NOP they say that they want to press just so we're pass that okay ma'am can I please talk to them I have four children at home do you want your your purse to go with you would you like it to stay I can leave it here okay would you like your phone to go with you so you can get phone numbers out of it yes I cannot believe yall doing this to me I come here every do you have your phone I don't even know where it is I'm about to get arrested I've never been through this before ma'am go ahead put yo can I knock the police outside I got to walk through the mall like for everybody I'm everybody's going to look at me like I'm Mis B so when am I going to go to court I don't know that's all set by the judge okay right now we're step one okay yo this is not fair to me so he's getting locked up too yes hang on I'm going to double lock these so they don't get any tighter on your wrists yo this is not fair I should have just walked away right but now we're here so we've got three adults that credit the adults and continue to argue with a cop so here we go okay got I'm one of take her extra CER all right okay so I'll give you this this is going to be the case number for the report okay okay so I'll give you a copy of this so I saw the video I'm having the manager send me the video copy he's got a case number two okay um so the video shows the altercation of the words you guys going back and forth about did you hear it did it show I can I can hear a little bit of it but either way it's started out just veral however so the first thing before the water being prown is you trying to snatch her phone okay so that's the first thing that happens and then she throws something she throws the cup or whatever and then you throw the ice cream okay so because you instigated the physical altercation side of it you are going to be placed under arrest as well be placed under arrest for disorderly contact okay give me a give me a key I'll gra Sheed to SN her phone yes so it's on video him try she no I was actually trying to no okay well the one were you trying to what I was trying to do I was trying to snatch away from her because what she was trying to do I'm not saying that I was not trying to I was not trying to do anything to towards her okay you you started the physical altercation by snatching her phone that she's trying to record you guys with no we she wasn't trying to record anything she she did she P her phone out she did she's holding it up pH need his wallet for ID so as long as we have his ID he doesn't need his wallet um if you want your phone to go with you they'll let you look up phone numbers and stuff out of it you want to take it with you um yeah just just go back to my um go back to my house where is he going he's going to going to C countyil in C County Memorial Drive do you want to keep your phone um I might as well I call just call 12:30 12:30 um 57 1230 putting your phone anything else you think um get information from staff the video it's a [Music] 12 one thing please okay I know that this was a big thing or whatever but I don't want him to get arrested he's with his baby mother she's pregnant I don't know how that feels you don't have to arrest him please don't do that please but he but he has to go home his baby mother what she his labor oh sorry I in people business and I so what am I I'm not going to be in trouble forever not going to be in trouble forever I'm tell you I will explain all that I'll look up after scrutinizing the evidence the officer made arrests the employee was charged for her actions and the male was arrested for instigating a physical altercation ma' can you change this okay do you have anything on you that can stick me or poke me why would I do why you doing that to me I wouldn't do that to you I'm not into stuff like this can I please just say sorry to them can we leave it alone can we just leave it alone no we can't thank you not going take that so it's going trash go ahead he you guys in the still we're out in means is we'll do it through the city so it's going to be a citation you'll have a bond when we get down there I don't have to talk to a judge and you'll just be able to bond out and then go to court questions cuz it sounds like he's got something he wants to ask well can you let him know that I'm very sorry and we I would like it was just a big misunder understanding my grandmother just passed surveillance I was not trying to attack her physically no I'm not saying you were trying to attack her I'm saying you were the initial instigator of the physical side of it by snatching the phone breaking the threshold of just verbal arguing so what she was trying to do when she was trying to hold her phone I thought she was going to actually hit me try to hit me that's why I was trying to you reapo her I once she pulled the phone out and was recording you guys you guys were walking away was walking away I was trying to I was no I was what I was trying to do I was literally trying to just walk away so my sister she you were walking away and then you turned back around after she pulled that's when she no that's when she had to raise a blade NOP I got a video so literally on the video she skips over you guys when you guys start to argue or whatever she skips over yall start talking people behind y'all you guys start to walk away she goes and grabs her phone pulls it out starts to record while y'all are still kind of stepping away you turn back around and come back towards her you guys start to argue again you snatch the phone and then she grabs the cup throws it you turn around you throw the ice cream and then she shoved the little exit thingy goes back around and grabs what was a can opener but what you guys believe was a razor blade okay she open a can opener yeah but it's all silver so I I saw it on the video I saw where she it's like but it's it's literally this long and it's all silver like I if I i' been the same but question so the reason being that I'm getting arrested because you initiated the physical side of it so you're just getting disorderly conduct it's literally at this point it's it's a ticket okay we're going City charges at this point disorderly conduct you'll have a bond when you get down there you'll be able to bond out and just go to the court you don't have to stay overnight He he'll have a preset bomb when he gets down there once he gets fully booked in which is the only way that he would have to stay overnight is if they're just back that been running stupid slow which some more water I'm sorry but my apologies but it's it's it's a shame a little bit more please my bottom lip ass but it's a shame for real though but I wasn't like I swear to I know you were not trying to hurt her but no cuz I was there instigating the when you get down there but like if I want to go up for a job or something like that will it still show only if you get like convicted on it so not anything until you go to court and you speak to a judge and all that stuff cuz you'll have a set court date okay you'll have to go to the court and talk to them about it and go from there that's that's all on the court side of things not on my side of things okay okay all right any other questions I can ask for you right now I guess come go to the jail so I get these tight handcuffs I got to fill out y paperwork really quick and we'll get y'all
