on June 22nd 2022 forye County deputies responded to a shoplifting in progress at the DSW shoe store incoming Georgia the store manager told the deputy what happened and provided surveillance footage along with a description of the [Music] suspect he came in there was two people that came in I don't I never saw the other person with him okay just one person obvious watching so start [Music] happen do you remember the description of the person vaguely uh I'll tell you next to me whatever he walks by cuz I walk fairly [Music] close there I'm 55 right white or black male black black male black male gray shirt with a hat I'm going to say you can't see a whole lot of his face just yeah just generic so black male what color was the Hat get a hat on what's that a gray shirt very sure black hat and one of those jeans I don't think it's jeans they were like slouchier pants I don't know if they were athletic but they're like all right do you have and I'll get you him walking into let me uh how how quick can you burn this or now pretty quick okay sweet sorry you're fine sometimes I don't know how long he was in here I greet him whenever he came in I just don't know how far you have other oh yeah when I came this it I don't have anything on my sales for so unless he goes up to the registers which obviously he didn't so okay so you don't you don't have any interior cameras okay all right so it's not a whole lot to go on I him he comes over here get a mesh bag and then you're not going to see him again he's walking out with thep shoes but if you want to look we can see kind of a gauge of what he's got yeah how would you be able to prove that he passed all points of sale obviously we can prove that no receipt you that he's not at the register okay perfect okay so he's got two in his hand and there's at least three in here got you so how would you cuz you can't really see the brands but yeah we'll see if we can recover the merchandise okay so do how do I need to show that he didn't go to the register you have any inter changing the display yeah what interior cameras do you have no not not that's it okay so all I would be able to do is burn everything from this time to this time and show that he doesn't go to the register okay that yeah that'll work that's it's pretty Wasing for less than 10 minutes like 15 minutes it's been a while now you're good do you mind um we with the property security officer who was the first to respond to the shoplifting incident what happened so did DD did they call you yeah they called me okay they called me to come over so I drove over I saw him come out and I saw him put the stuff in the back did you all right so dstd called you in regards to shoplifting you responded and you got DSW did you see him leaving the store I saw he just kept walking I saw him walking out and he kept walking after in there got you on the phone and then when he saw you guys he started walking back here started running towards me uhuh so when he was so um you didn't see him leave the store though right you just saw him like just walking yeah just like coming from the direction so he was coming from the direction did he have items in his hand at the time just phone in the that but he had items also yeah his phone in the bag okay and then from there what happened well after they saw me he was started running back towards me I was trying to get in the way of him he said don't touch me and he pointed the pistol at me he did point it at you yeah we went like this okay okay all right um You said you saw him put the items in his truck yeah when did that happen uh I was on the phone so when they called you you saw him at his truck or you saw him leaving first at the truck at the truck putting stuff in the truck yeah he wasn't just he wasn't at the truck yet he was just like walking I didn't see the door close behind him but he was just like coming out when I saw him so he was coming from the truck yeah he was heading towards the truck so I saw him open the door put it in uhhuh and then he got on his phone like he was chill and he was like just walking all right so that's what happened so like you responded to the area you saw him at the vehicle putting items in the vehicle yes sir could you see what he was putting in it was the back seat it was the bag and was it a bag did you did you describe a gray bag what you saw him putting in yeah okay did you see like any boxes or anything Bo okay and then from there you tried to make contact with him no I stayed I stayed got my you stayed back yeah and then when he you said he pointed the the pistol at you yeah that's when I was like getting in front of him I didn't know he had it until he said don't touch me and did that and I remember Pitt and yelling at me to get out of the way okay all right Co just hang out over there let me yell him yes sir meanwhile a suspect matching the description was spotted nearby when Deputy attempted to speak with him the suspect took off running prompting a foot pursuit nope stop stop stop he's taking off on foot can you see if they went a proc radio he's running towards the fence line ready W here I come here I come you better give up you better give up Taser Taser Taser during the chase the suspect threw away a gun which was later identified as a BB gun drop this gun running towards home to sweets I got more guys coming you better stop I got more guys coming where's the hotel the hotel made a right towards the entrance to Ronald Reagan looks like he's going into the home to sweets around the side again gray sweatpants gray shirt black [Applause] mail Ragan go to ran Crossing on rean towards the wood line he managed to cross a road and run into a wooded area but he was no match for the deputy in the wood line give there's somebody with a truck someone's got it yeah it's gone okay truck's gone yeah we're missing a truck but they're probably gone that silver F-150 they scrubbed it's got all the merchandise in it so they're probably long gone but keep an eye out for it well I guess um I'm sure that truck is long gone see what we come up with on I'm this far recover that maybe maybe they didn't see him get and date of birth however his true ident was later confirmed he was charged with simple assault shoplifting giving a false name and date of birth obstruction and transported to foresight County Jail I
