Polie on February 21st 2022 officers responded to a domestic battery incident the initial 911 call was made to report a broken ankle but when the officers arrived at the location they saw a woman with red marks on her face they immediately called for backup and asked the man who had allegedly hit her to step out of the house police come to the door police I know you're in there EMS got here went inside saw her she's banged up he's got something wrong with him and then he said he didn't want him and pushed him out the door so they called us police come to the door now we were here one day for a 32 call supposedly he pulled a 32 out on somebody over the white houses yeah sound hold on keep keep kick keep knocking keep yell on this Police Department come to the door now Police Department come to the door we're going to kick it in after knocking for about 30 minutes the officers ran out of patience when the man did not open the door they decided to break in Hammer need here kicking I'm try first it doesn't matter who want whoever wants to go here I need somebody I'll go right behind him I need somebody we're going to keep it you going to give it a couple seconds before yeah let it think long and hard about what you're going to tell me what your kids told us and we'll go from there okay but you you got a few minutes to think about it okay shortly after the man was taken to the hospital while his son was interviewed by one of the officers what he told the police came as a big shock to them sorry man I Tred to jump up there I sit on or something hang on just second hold got to sit up here or just sit right there what you say cuz it sounds like your sister told him something about what happened so she clearly can articulate what went on did you see it yeah so what happened I didn't see who started the fight but yeah there was a fight I didn't see who started it okay was was your mom home all night no she came home from work at like N9 Nish so did you know your dad called an ambulance for himself at some point yeah he claims I broke his leg he claims you broke his leg yeah that was me did you I'm not going to lie about it that was me I'm the one who made his leg like that so what happened all right they were in the kitchen somebody started to f my mom went death well the leg happened before they were home no okay I'm going to write down what you're telling me okay cuz I don't want to mess this up yeah they were in the kitchen your mom and dad okay so then what happened my dad had went over there with her and like from there I wasn't really paying attention to what happened I just know the fight started and like physical yeah and you saw that they were physically fighting you could hear it and at a point I got up and I saw it yeah so my dad went in there with her or you went to the kitchen no I didn't go to the kitchen I was in the living room and I had looked over there and yeah so you went to the living room what did you see I couldn't really see it cuz like my mom was on the floor behind the counter cuz you know you can't see back there and my dad was standing up going to guess that you were protecting your mom to help her so so my mom was screaming for me to help her yeah at a point the dogs are barking so loud that like I just told him to stop like told your dad to stop yeah and then like he told me not to get involved and then I stood up right cuz like he was coming towards me he put both his hands around my neck I pushed him towards the dog cage he fell on and then he like pushed back and they're like fighting for a while we ended up in the hallway where he tried to drag me down on top of him and I landed on his leg so that's what happened or you guys continue to he tried to drag me down with him like he was like trying to S he was falling and then no no he he I was in front of him he was like backing up and then he tried to grab me like slam me down but he was falling with I didn't fall I like kneeled on his leg okay to an extent that's pretty illegal isn't it well I I'll explain it to you I'll explain it to you why we did without a warrant I'm pretty sure you can't do that well you can you have probable cause yeah I have it okay so so anyway we show up did he say anything like I'm not letting him in or don't anybody say anything until us like all be quiet the whole reason tonight went down the way it did is because we couldn't make contact with anybody and we've got EMS workers telling us that you told him that he hit you that they saw visible marks on you so when we can't make contact by somebody coming to the door we have to assume the worst and you if you watch the news you know what happens every day thankfully everybody's okay but you've got kids in the house I know Mr Joshua here is 18 can you still your child always will be always will be and our job is to protect you in the state of Illinois it is this is the one type of thing domestic battery is the
