And he was just looking around, came around the counter and I was like, "Sir, you have to go back around." And then he started grabbing products and he started like pushing me like out of the way and everything. And then eventually he walked back around the counter and started going towards the front door. I was like, "Are you going to pay for everything?" And got in front of him and he was like, "What are you going to do about it?" And he started pushing me out of the store. And then um and then I was like trying to hold back him getting out of the store cuz he was still holding products, too. And then he um pushed me all the way to the uh driver's side of the door where his truck and he tried dragging me inside of it. Okay, so he tried to force you dragging you inside of it. >> me inside and then I was just like pushing myself away and then he let go. >> I was just pushing kicking away and he just finally let go. They're going to come and talk to you and get a statement. Is that >> injuries? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, I'm going to I'm going to go to his house cuz we have a Flock hit, I think, the vehicle. And once he came out without without a beard Do you guys have camera dialed in? He has really good cameras. So, if you see that guy outside Yeah, I just I was just trying to get both while we were here if y'all had one. Apart from the attempted kidnapping, the male had shoplifted from a Walmart earlier in the day and even the truck he was driving was stolen. Huh, perfect. How you doing? Uh I have a quick question. And put your feet >> feet in. All right, so Yeah. You guys got your rapid ID? Yeah. See, he's refusing to ID himself. I guess so. They got rapid ID. We'll see if he's out of Florida. I don't know what I did wrong, but I'm not about to play that game. So, get in that car right now. You do not have a choice. You understand me? Okay. You have no choice. Look at how many people you got No. Stop doing that. Put your feet in the car and stay still. Today is not the day, my friend. You might want to just sit still. You reach for something again and I'll you up. Do you understand me? Do not do that. Okay, we're good. You might as well just transport him, CJ. We're not going to transport. We're not going to do it. We're taking him. He almost grabbed the taser. I'm glad y'all were around me. Huh? That's why I'm glad y'all were right behind me. Though the man was swiftly brought to justice, his 18-year-old victim was left justifiably traumatized and fearful for her safety. Now, if he does ever come back, like he gets out and he comes back here and like I'm still here working, what do I do? Like cuz if like he just walks in. Well, so he Well, he it would be illegal for to remotely be in this area. It would be impossible. So this is it's an injunction. So he can't be anywhere around you or anything like that. He might if he does get out he might be on a monitor. I don't know. But a lot of those times they do do monitors and stuff like that. So we have a really sophisticated system to track people. So it's not like this this county is they spend a lot of expense on that type of stuff. So it's not it's not as easy as people think. But it just depends on on what he gets. But he might be on a GPS monitor and stuff and that way if he does get out we would know where he's at if you know and if he comes anywhere we're already notified before you even know. Okay. So definitely that and I mean I mean it's I mean basically tried to kidnap you. So this isn't this isn't easy thing for him to even get out on. Yeah. So we'll we'll see and we'll work we'll work with what we got to do and and we'll go from there and and we'll see to it that he gets dealt with. Okay? All right. Don't worry about him. You just work on your mental and we'll do the rest. Okay? Back at the jail the male refused to provide a breath sample and gave the most bizarre reason for the attempted kidnapping. Have you had any alcohol today? I don't think so. You don't think so? You told me earlier that you did. Uh oh yeah, I might have. Yeah. I might have. Why am I in trouble remembering? I I I just I've always had trouble remembering. Kind of like you know you know I just forget [ __ ] all the time. So I read this to you? You got to read it to you? You have the right to remain silent and anything With these rights in mind do you wish to continue talking to us now? Okay. So you said earlier that you had When when you were in the truck on the way here you said that you had alcohol. Do you remember what you had? Uh probably some kind of mixer. Wine mixer you know. Oh yeah. Like what they sell at the gas station? Yeah yeah. Yeah yeah. Uh Yeah they come in little little bottles or something like that right? Or is that the other thing that I'm thinking of? >> Yeah. No yeah little bottles yeah. You had you said you had today as well? Yeah. Yeah. You have any other sort of No you know what honestly I haven't been getting a lot of sleep. And I don't know if I'll be able to produce any pee and I know I I told you I'll take I I couldn't do the test but I don't even know if I can pee right now. Okay. Okay. You said you did take today? I did take today yeah. Like a lot or how much are you talking? Uh yeah a pretty large portion of them. Like And this [ __ ] I did that girl that that that was tough bro. You know I I I you know she's all right. What girl? What what did you do? The abduction? Okay. Do you want to talk about it? If you want. Well what happened? >> I don't know. I just literally I wanted just to hang out. Oh okay. But you know she freaked the [ __ ] out and I was just like I don't know. I I got mad but you know. And you took off? I literally I you know but you get to a certain point and you just like off the guy right? You know? Yeah. Damn. So back to Yeah. You you smoked today? Yeah preferably yeah. Okay. How many do you think you you smoked today? Uh maybe two. Two? Okay. Two. I don't even know when the last time I smoked was. Exactly. I'm literally Okay. I don't even want to take this test anymore. You don't want to take it at all? Okay. You don't want to take it so you're refusing to take the test? Yeah. Okay. So we'll just mark it down as a refusal. >> All right. You hang tight here and let me let them know. Okay? The 18-year-old victim later gave an interview to local news outlets about her dangerous encounter and its aftermath. How are you doing at this point in time and can you kind of tell us a little bit of your your processing your thought process since this happened? Well I'm still trying to recover from it. Obviously it was pretty traumatic. But lately I've just been trying to focus on myself and get back to work. What actions did you take to try to get away from him? I just kept fighting back and screaming. Uh what was going through your head when he grabbed you and dragged you to his car? Just that I had to get away and I was terrified that he was going to hurt me. Throughout this experience have you gone through any personal protection training before? And how did you know what to do in order to get away from him? I have not done any personal protection things yet. But my parents had always taught me that whenever you're in any sort of danger you always fight back. Are you still working at the smoke shop? No I'm not. He the boss did let me and my sister go. Do you know why? Any reasoning? No he has not contacted either of us. What's your reaction to that and how he treated you through this situation? Pretty upsetting cuz he was my boss for a few months and you know everything was going good up until that incident and he just completely stopped talking to either of us. Do you have any advice or words for other women who might find themselves in similar situations? Just never be quiet. Always fight back no matter what. Like kick scream all of it. It will do justice. The 31-year-old male was also on probation for prior charges of criminal mischief when he smashed his mother's home in a drunken outburst causing damages worth $38,000. He was charged with grand theft of motor vehicle, petty theft second degree, robbery and kidnap false imprisonment adult. YouTube thinks you'll love the video on screen. Click to watch now.
