On May 2nd, 2023, Smyrna Police responded to a call from an Uber driver who reported that a man had fired shots at his car in Smyrna, Georgia. I pulled up to his house. And the girl, she just hopped out of the street that I was dropping off. She just hopped out over there by the Kroger's. Kaelan? Yes, ma'am. Are you speaking with the officer? He hit the windshield. Soon as he did that, and I seen the gun, I just pushed the gas. And then I just heard a pop, pop. Okay. >> So, Okay. All right. Believes going to be in the Kroger parking lot. That's what he advised. Going to be a between a male and a and a female. What's the other car look like? No, he was at a house. Okay. That's why I had pulled up to and he ran up to the car. And then I pulled off after that cuz she was screaming, "Sean, Sean, this the Uber, this the Uber." >> Okay. So, I just pushed on the Tesla gas and I heard two pops in the air. Like I just heard two pops. And so, I just keep going. Was he saying anything? >> nothing. He He didn't say nothing, sir. Okay. Soon as I opened the door, just so happened here come two police officers. I'm like, "Right here?" I ain't I I couldn't believe it. What What did the gun look like? It was gray and black. It wasn't until officers reviewed the surveillance footage a second time that they realized the suspect had jumped into a car trying to catch the fleeing Uber. Yeah, it woke us up and we in our slumber thought that it was just something It didn't sound right for a gunshot, but I I couldn't fall back asleep after that. Yeah, I mean that That lines up with the driver's story. And So there's I tried to get it in 90 seconds, but I got the carport view in in two angles or two 30-second stints. This is 90 seconds here. Okay. So, this has the whole car driving up and everything. I'm blown away at the sound quality, I'll be honest. Does it show if he went back inside or I mean, it's 90 seconds, so you and you can you can maneuver. So, we can't we can't Oh, he takes off. He drives off. He got in his car? Was it that vehicle right there, that Mercedes? To be quite honest with you, there are different vehicles You're going to be going with the officer in the car for the police department. For what? We don't know. Right now under investigation, and probably be getting closer to the situation So, they got They got the video of it. The suspect was arrested and taken to jail. While officers continued working through the night to sort out the rest of the incident, officers were also able to locate the vehicle. The license plate returned no records, but a VIN check revealed the owner from Tennessee had sold it to the suspect, and that was just the beginning. And let me guess, he was BSing everything, huh?
