driving in a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier with another adult in two kids they were on their way to a friend's house when their car had a problem police officer Joseph Harris noticed and turned on his siren to tell them to stop but Brianna and her mom didn't stop right away they kept driving for about half a mile before finally stopping when officer Harris walked up to their car he asked why they took so long to stop why take us so long to pull over I didn't know you was a cop back there Sor I didn't okay well I hit my Sirens you hit your break had a music going very hard okay well yall saw that I was a cop after a while I hit my tire and we rolled for half a half a mile I'm sorry okay so that that gets me nervous you see what I'm saying okay all right we're good now okay all right reason I pull I'm officer here jpd reason I pulled you over is your Char you know that got did you okay at first Brianna's mom said she didn't notice it was a police car because the music was loud but soon it seemed like there was more going on officer Harris thought maybe they didn't stop because the car's registration tag was expired Brianna's mom seemed to expect this but decided not to deal with it where are we headed um just going to see some friends going to see some friends yeah I was hoping I had that because I had got it the other night but anyway I don't mean I had it there it is got I need that's fine I need your driver's license things got more serious when officer Harris followed the rules and asked for their ID he also asked all the grown-ups except the kids to get out of the car so he could search it since Brianna and her mom were on probation for drug stuff this made the police even more suspicious hey guys y'all can leave the kids in the car do y'all care step out for me y'all ain't in trouble just have cond my stop thank you right now let's just right now the only thing I pull you over for is the tags okay so right now we're just going to step out okay you're not in trouble when the police searched the car first they didn't find anything bad but then a police dog that's trained to find drugs showed there might be some so officer Harris checked even more carefully because Brianna and her mom were on probation they had fewer rights to stop these searches now they had to go to the County facility for a more serious search even a strip search where where we headed right now you just headed right down the road uh you come here I'm going to search you real quick cuz the dog alert okay the car I I tell you what if if y'all are just going right down the road I'm okay with it all right man spr your feet for me I'm just going to be honest with you as long as it took us to pull over usually that means people are stuffing something are getting ready to run you know I'm not trying to play a game with y'all like y been a part of the game you know how it is um I've searched him he's good what I'm going to do right now now is I'm going to have you y'all are not underr okay just so we're clear I'm going to have him take the kids down the road okay we're going to go out to County and do a quick strip search okay all right because obviously are females I can't get in the areas that I can with males with y'all and we don't have a feeling offer right now all right but it's soon as we don't find anything we're going to take you right back to i' rather not get my car code so I mean I'm I'm not trying to tell you car us I mean you're not under arrest right here or something not we're not and this has happened three times in rest than seven days I got you okay well it's one of those I you know I kind of got to do my job with it guys I mean you can do your job search it I mean call female officer whatever well then searches we'll give you the right searches well but I still can't search like I need to even even with the F officer okay what do you mean yeah what what do you mean women can women can stuff stuff places that we can't find it even on the C how how's anybody going to find it what's that right I mean I just don't like leav I mean I don't understand this 100 why can't we go no because with so with the dog alert okay that gives me probable cause to do a strip search okay I'm not going to the strip shirts like female ja going me I'll get naked right now well I would I promise I will get in major trouble I just don't feel we have possession of tampering with physical evidence and obstructing governmental operations fortunately for her mother she was not found with any Contraband and was allowed to return home to the children now let's encounter the case of a dangerous driver with a heartbreaking incident on July 30 2022 on US Highway 67 officer Cody got a message about a dangerous driver in a Nissan Maxima going south the driver was causing a problem by staying in the left lane without passing other cars officer Cody found the car around mile marker 6748 and pulled it over hey s TR Brown AR State Police Reon sta you continuously driving in the left lane without passing impeding the flow driver's license registration those people behind me traveling with you no sir no no uh man he's he's been on my since uh before bville honestly okay you've been called in as a reckless driver as well I don't know if you're aware of that people been saying you've been all over the road what's going on today I'm actually working with you yes sir while officer Cody was checking the information two more officers acpl Griffith and atrp Coots came to help officer Cody told them about Jesse's history with drugs and said that Jesse might still be under parole which means the police could search him and his car without permission because of what happened before and the report about Jess's bad driving they decided to test if Jesse was drunk or on drugs and search his car for anything illegal so uh this guy that's called in that was Reckless I've stopped him for impeding the flow of traffic continuously driving in the left lane he's got some drug history I'm trying to look right now to see if he is a probationer or anything with search waiver on file okay if that's the case probably go ahead and get them out do a quick search might do some field sobriety just based off of the uh caller that I just let go he his statements he was all over the road and stuff he touched yell l a couple of times while I was watching him see if he's DWI drugs or something but uh let me look real quick and see if he's a probation or anything search waver on file all right he says he's working he is a parole Le suggest getting him out and doing a quick search of the car and make sure he's okay to drive no it's possible possible D we drugs I don't know I didn't observe Jesse followed what the officer said and put out his cigarette he emptied his pockets onto the trunk of his car then the officers searched both Jesse and the niece stand Maxima very carefully looking everywhere they could for anything illegal tell you kind of what's going on man so I know here search wer on F all right got some prior drug history I want to make sure you're okay to drive you're not or anything like that you have any on your anything I noticed that knife hanging up there in that rear view miror there's bunch of KN yeah you got some drug some Firearms explosives and all that there's this the first time I'm legitimately asking is there in your car no sir know no sir and I laugh because man it's it's been ongoing since I was 17 I mean kind explosives where you dealing with that that back in like 200 all it was was a blasting cab really that's it there was no explosives I mean I grew up in the country let step over here for him some by the road man I mean I grew up in the country we we blew stumps up and okay so I mean there was no explosives even when all right um can you put your cigarette out for me oh yeah want him down second real quick yeah go ahead go ahead and take your pockets pull him inside out for me and place all that stuff on the TRU got anything in that butt pocket n do their hard work paid off when they found about 33 hidden in the car officer Cody told Jesse his Miranda rights making sure Jesse understood each right Jesse stayed surprisingly calm understanding his rights but seeming like he knew what was going to happen when ask about Jesse admitted he would probably test positive if they right now about to drug test you right now probably so yeah yes sir but that is not so you would test positive you test positive for right now if I was to drug test you but even though he was honest about using it didn't make the situation better officer Cody called the central aransa drug task force and they took Jesse into custody he was facing a serious charge for having a controlled substance which was between 10 and 200 g that's the end of our case about a simple traffic stop that turned into a big drug bust it shows how police work can sometimes bring big surprises during what seems like
