On September 5th, 2022, Sandy Springs police officers responded to a burglary report in Sandy Springs, Georgia. The female victim explained that she was in the process of moving and had been going in and out of her apartment. When the guy is on the 4th floor, I'm on the 2nd. Um all day. Like that's me right there, like coming up and down moving things. Okay. Um because we're moving to our townhome. Um anyway, he was he was going upstairs when I would bring things down and put it in the car. And I always lock the door. Well, he started calling me. I was down here maybe like 7 minutes unloading some stuff or packing some stuff in. He started calling me nonstop. And I said, "Teddy, I'm coming right back up." Who's Teddy? This is Teddy. Okay. And he um he's when I got back upstairs, he said, "Somebody just robbed Somebody just broke in and robbed you." And this bag was sitting on the counter. And I was like, "What?" And I started looking I was like, "Are you sure?" He was like, "Look at me." And so I was like, "Let me check my puppy cam." And sure enough, Can I see it? Yeah. And I've seen this guy today up and down. And I was he was walking down the my hall. And I was like, "I've never seen him. I I That's not somebody I recognize on our road." Um and it's that guy. Hold on. I'm trying to find I'm going to get I think I go through several when I did this. Fast. So, bear with me if we have to go through a few of them. That's okay. Is your apartment locked right now? Uh-huh. Okay. Yep. But that's the thing is I had it locked. On Saturday morning, I was selling my pajamas. Somebody came to our door and I keep the door locked. Somebody came and was like jiggling our handle. Okay. And I was like, "That's odd." And I looked out the peephole. I didn't see anybody. And I was like, "Well, maybe it was somebody that just walked up to the wrong door." Even though I don't know if he would know which apartment you live in. And ever since then I've had problems where I I locked the door, and I'll check it and it's not it's not latching. Now, I can ultimately get it latched. So, I wonder if this guy has been kind of scoping things out and has done something We have asked some people that have been sneaking in. We have arrested two so far. Okay. This is I think this is the Wi-Fi's not Do you want to come up to my apartment? we'll just go up there. Hey, buddy. You okay? Yes. I also lost my two arms. Yeah? Yes. I couldn't I had called a friend of mine. Her husband actually used to be at 801 Peachtree. He said, "What should I do?" Because at that time I I didn't cross my mind at all. Mhm. I thought he told me this, but I mean I didn't see him. And then I went to look for You all right, babe? Do you have a ring camera outside your house? Or is it one of your neighbors that has it? What's happening is some of the residents that let in random people in and we're seeing an influx of homeless people, and they've been coming in at this building. So, he was behind me one point in the hall here. Listen, if something doesn't look right to you, just next time just call. They told me that he can go in and out. So, he just He kept walking that way and was acting like he was on the phone. I just moved this right here. Okay. But, it was right there. And because I was told that stuff moved, So, where was your purse? Right was right here and this was moved This was over there. He had to come around it. Okay. All right, let's see. That's all it was. It was just like yes, no and he was walking behind me and then I came in and shut the door and locked it. And then I heard that he was in the kids' bathroom. And I've not seen him I've not seen him before until today. I'm going to call Sergeant Cloutier. So, we got a whole new situation pretty much. Probably 14 to Bravo 12. 22 signal 9. 10-4. Where is he? Officers inspected the door and lock and quickly figured out how the suspect was able to gain entry. All right, we're going to go look for him, okay? Okay. Just keep the door locked. Detectives immediately began investigating and observed the suspect on Sandy Springs city cameras running away not far from the apartment complex. He was then seen getting into a newer model dark-colored Toyota sedan, possibly a Camry. Two days later, on September 7th, detectives located the suspect and conducted a traffic stop. He was arrested for driving without a license. During a search, detectives found five debit credit cards in his wallet that did not belong to him, along with six Capital One checks issued in someone else's name. During an interview, after initially denying involvement, the suspect eventually admitted to committing the burglary and confronting the juvenile. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail for booking.
