Is there a reason that you're pulling me over? >> Yeah, absolutely. There's a reason why I'm pulling you over. For one thing, inclement inclement weather, you don't have your lights on. >> What is the reason? Step out. >> What is the reason? >> There are Karens, but then there's nothing worse than Democrat Karens who believe their office and status puts them above the law. >> Sir, you're going to be issued a citation. >> Anything you have to say, we're going to make sure that she pays the price for being disrespectful. Here are the times when Democratic Karens thought they were above the law until they weren't. Starting off with Senator Regina Goodwin, who learned the hard way that running a light has consequences and not even her position can shield her from them. >> Ma'am, I'm not going to ask you again. Can I get your driver's license? >> Or can I take you to jail on running a stop sign? I need your driver's license. >> Do what you got to do. Turn around. Just say you're going to arrest me. >> Yeah. Turn around. >> Okay. >> Who is she? >> Regina Goodwin. Senator Goodwin. >> Senator Goodman. >> Yeah. She represents this district. >> Okay. Okay. On January the 11th, 2025, a Tulsa County deputy conducted a traffic stop involving Oklahoma State Senator Regina Goodwin. Although a simple traffic stop, the officer did not know that he had pulled over a senator and a Karen who was going to try her best to bully him and put his patience [music] to the test. >> Cuz you ran two stop signs and you're going to get a citation today. >> Not stop. >> I was behind you, ma'am. You didn't You didn't even come to a complete stop. >> Stop sign, sir. >> This stop sign right here. You >> I did not. I did not. >> I need your driver's license. >> I did not do that. I need your driver's license on my way somewhere and and and you talk about you going to give me a ticket and all that. I need your driver's license. >> I come down this place. I did not I need your driver's license. Yes, you did. >> And why you doing all this? Like you've got I need your driver's license. >> Mr. I'm fixing my vest. I need your driver's license, ma'am. >> What's your name? >> Alanise. >> And who do you work with? >> Tulsa County Sheriff's Office. >> Tulsa County. >> Yep, ma'am. And I'm stopping you cuz you're ran two stop signs. >> Where are you even? I did not run to >> This is This is the Tulsa County. I I know, but I didn't run two stop signs. >> Okay, I need your driver's license. >> But But how do we solve this if I know I didn't run to a stop sign? >> Well, we can solve it in court. I need your driver's license. >> No, but you're not telling the truth. I did not come. >> I am telling the truth. Yes, you did run to stop. >> How did I run to a stop sign? >> You didn't come to a complete stop at this stop sign here. And you didn't come to a complete stop on the other stop sign. No, you did not come to stop. >> Stop. You said not a >> You slowed down. You slowed down. You did not come to a stop. >> Huh? >> You slowed down. You did not even come to a stop down at the stop sign. >> You slowed down. >> Uh-huh. Huh? State statue is you must come to a complete full stop. >> Okay. >> Okay. And I did stop at those. >> No, you didn't. Ma'am, I need your driver's license. >> I did. >> Ma'am, I either >> So tell me tell me this. >> Ma'am, I'm not going to ask you again. Can I get your driver's license as >> or can I take you to jail on running a stop sign? I'm not going to ask you again. It's not for debate. >> Goodwin denied any wrongdoing, insisting she hadn't violated the law, while the deputy repeatedly asked for her driver's license as required by statute. It could have been easier for the senator to hand over her license, but listening to an officer, considering her status, was not something she was looking forward to. At least not to a [music] cop who was seen as a low-level deputy. I need your driver's license. >> No. No, Mr. >> I need your driver's license. I'm not going to ask again. Then I need to get your driver's license. >> You're not going to arrest me when I did not. I stopped at the stop sign. And you have the audacity. >> I need your driver's license. If you don't give me your driver's license. If you don't give me your driver's license, >> what you got to do? >> I need your driver's license. >> Do what you got to do. Turn around. Just say you're going to arrest me. >> Turn around. >> Okay. >> Okay. You're going to rest me. And I did not run a stunt sign. Okay. >> Relax for me. Relax. Relax. >> Relax your hands. I am relaxed. >> Yeah. Relax them. Relax. >> I am relaxed, sir. >> No, you're not relaxed. >> I am relaxed. I'm doing nothing here. I am relaxed. >> Okay. >> You ran two stops. >> Not running. And you're you're bending my thumb a little. >> Stop moving. Stop moving. Don't turn towards me, ma'am. Just like >> don't turn towards me. >> Okay. First of all, I didn't want you to stop sign. >> Ma'am, stop moving towards me. >> Okay. But you know what? You are you really are putting too much pressure on my thumb to know >> and I'm asking your name. I'm asking >> Yeah. Freddy Alanise with the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office. Reason why I pulled you over is because you ran two stop signs. >> And And why would you say that you're going to arrest me? >> Because you're refusing to give me a driver's license. >> No, sir. I'm I'm just telling you. I'm asking you the process. >> Yeah. I I asked you about I don't know maybe over eight times to give me >> and I said to you I didn't run the stop sign. If I if I'm refusing to if if I'm saying to you that I didn't run the two stop signs. >> Uhhuh. >> That's what I said to you. >> I know. >> Okay. >> And I asked for your driver's license several times. >> I need to turn my car off. >> No, ma'am. We're going to go right this way. >> Can you turn my car off? >> Yeah, he could. I can turn it off in a second. We're going to go right this way. >> We're going to go right this way. Ma'am, >> can you turn my car off, please? >> I will turn it off. Yep. We're going to go right this way. Nope. I'll take care of it. If you'll step right back to the sidewalk for me, please. I appreciate it. >> No, I'm attorney Mike Manning. >> That's fine, sir. Can you Can you stand over there for me? >> I will stand over here. I'm not going to obstruct anything. >> All right. Thank you. We're going to go rent this way. >> You don't think this is really going too far, >> ma'am? We're going to go rent this way. >> Okay. >> Could you not give me your driver's license? >> No. No. You I was asking you the process. I was asking you how is this going to work out? And you said if you don't stop, I'm going to arrest you. I said, why would you? Yes, you did. Yes. That's why I asked, "Why would you arrest me?" >> I said, "If you don't give me your driver's license, that was not it." That was it was no. I said I said I said why would you arrest me is what I said. >> Because you're refusing to give me your driver's license. >> No. No. No. >> Have a seat. Have a seat. >> That is not what happened. >> That's exactly what happened. Have a seat. >> That is not because let me say this. When I said to you, I said, "How?" Let me let me >> That's exactly what happened. No, no, no, no. That is exactly what happened. That's what you asked me and I said, >> "No, that for driving the stop. You don't give me your driver's license. Why would you arrest me for this? Is what I said. And then I'm disputing that I didn't stop at the stop sign, but I said, "Why would you arrest me for that?" is what I said. >> Cuz you're refusing to give me your driver's license. >> NO, THAT IS not true. Have a seat. That is not true at all. I was having a conversation and you have a seat for me. All of a sudden said, "I'll arrest you." And I said, "And I thought I said or I can arrest you." >> Escalated something. No, sir. That is not >> Okay. >> Why would that would even be an option for you? >> Have a seat. >> Why would that even be a problem? cuz you're refusing to There was no There was no refusal of me to give me asked you. I asked you over five times to give me your driver's license. But I was saying to you and you kept debating your driver's license. I'm not debating at all debating my driver's license, sir. That is not correct. Then why would you? Because I was saying to you that you're telling me that I'm not stopping at the stop sign. And then when you said I'll arrest you, then you escalated to I'll arrest you. >> Why would you not give me your driver's license? >> I was having a conversation with you. I was asking your name. I ask you how do you pronounce your name? I ask you who are you? >> I'm not going to ask you again. Have a seat. >> Okay. Tell me. Let me Would you tell me this? What happens after you put me in this car? I'm asking you what happens after you put me in the car. >> I'm going to drive you over to the jail right over there. I'm going to book you in for failing to stop at a stop signs two. >> Have a seat for me right here. >> That that really makes sense to you. >> Have a seat right here. >> That you wouldn't write a ticket if you not listening to my instruction and my command. You are going way overboard talking about taking me down, booking me. Have a seat right here because you're saying that I slowed down at the stop sign. I didn't come to I'm saying that you >> No, you said you said >> see. You just keep You just keep making things up. Nope. Have a seat. Have a seat. Come on, ma'am. Have a seat. You just keep saying these different things and different words. >> Let me get my leg up. >> Okay. Yep. You keep saying you keep Yes, you are. You keep saying that I'm that I'm saying things that I did not say. >> Well, that's okay. With every passing moment, the exchange became more heated after multiple warnings about the legal consequences. She was a senator, but the officer was now running out of patience. From the look of things, he was probably going to eventually show her that she was not above the same laws that she was a part of making. >> I realize you have a job to do, officer, but I'm attorney. >> Yeah, you might want to start to That's my number license. I realize Senator Goodman can be a little bit strongheaded at times, but don't you think that we can >> Let's Let's Let's get a citation. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I can I can absolutely do that. But >> she'll she'll give you your license. >> Okay. I don't need I don't need to ask her 10 times for her driver's license. You know what I mean? And I I don't have an issue right issue her citation or let her go, but I'm the one that's in in command of the traffic stop, not her. >> Uh she blatantly ran two stop signs and I was just going to give her a verbal warning and tell her not to do that. But she her demeanor the way that she was, >> I can't have that. Okay? I'm the one in control of the traffic stop, not >> honestly. >> I if >> and I'm not I'm not >> if I don't allow other people to do that when I do a traffic stop, I'm not going to allow her either. Does that make sense? >> Uh I know that people get a little >> Yeah. little wound up when they get pulled over by the police. They don't like it. Um and it and I try not to escalate the things that way they don't need to. Okay. So, yeah. Let let me uh let me get it figured out with her. Okay. >> Uh Michael Manning. Yeah. I'm going to let her cool down just a little bit. See if she can >> relax. Who is she? >> Regina Goodwin. Senator Goodwin. >> Senator Goodwin. >> Yeah. She represents this district. >> Okay. Okay. >> So, Okay. Senator Goodwin, you got your is your ID or your driver's license in the person? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Can we just give the ID? Give the driver's license. Take a deep breath and everything and then let's let's go from there. Okay. >> I >> I was asking him the process. >> I understand. >> Right. >> I understand. >> So, why can't he explain it to me? >> He's not explaining you the process. He's just asking for your driver for your driver's license. I will be more than happy to explain that stuff to you. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, what am I doing? >> Your driver's license. >> I need your driver's license, ma'am. I need your driver's license. Can I get your driver's license? Actually, you know what? >> It's cuz I got a feeling you won't you won't let me in your car to get your driver's license. I will just I will I will just ask you to tell you where my license is. >> That's okay. Uh what's what's your last name? >> Why would you have a feeling that I'm not going to tell you where my license is? Clearly, my license is in the car. It's been very difficult up to this moment. >> Well, I I I to be in handcuffs. What is your last name? >> Off of something as simple as what we're discussing. So, and clearly my license is in my purse. >> What is your last name? >> When I asked you could I even turn my car off, you were like, "No." So, okay. >> All right. >> So, so >> your last name, good one. >> Yeah. >> G O D W I N. >> My license is in my purse. >> Okay. What's your first name? You need to go get my license out my >> I'm asking you the name. What's your What's her first name? >> Regina. >> Can you spell that for me? >> Uh uh R E G I N A. >> And what is your date of birth? >> Okay. All right. If you'll just hang tight for me. Okay. Attorney Mike Manning stepped in, attempting to calm tensions and clarify the situation. It soon became evident to everyone that the handcuffed driver was a sitting state senator. While the encounter began to ease, the complications were far from over. >> I think now I think she's a little calm now. I think I'm going to go ahead and get her out. Get her out the handcuffs. Regina Goodwin. >> Okay, ma'am. Go and step on out here for me. I just got a hold of you cuz I don't want you to fall. Okay, ma'am. If you just want to hang up here in the sidewalk, I'm going to issue you a citation and then I'm going to let you go on your way. Okay. >> I got >> Oh, it's simple. Well, I asked you several times for your driver's license and I told you that >> mischaracterizing what happened. I was asking about the >> I'm not going to debate that with you anymore. >> And I said, why would you do that? >> That's not exactly what I said. No, that's not what I said. >> I end up in >> You said you do what you've got to do when I asked you that if I don't get your driver's license, then I would I would take you to jail. >> I said, why would you do that? >> Okay, ma'am. If will you please stand up up there? Please be careful. Don't fall. Mr. Good one. So, I'm going to issue a citation for fail to stop at the stop sign for this stop sign and the other stop sign that's a little further down. Court date is going to be on the 25th of February at 9:00 at the Tulsa I'm sorry at 8:00 9:00 at the Tulsa County Courthouse downtown. >> Address is right here if you need it. Do you have any questions? >> Yeah, I have questions. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Same questions that I was asking you before [clears throat] you said that you were going to arrest me and take me downtown. I said, "Why would you arrest me?" And then you knew then you said, "Oh, I'll take you downtown. I'll arrest you." I just think you just escalated something that was absolutely beyond >> That's not exactly how That's not exactly how that happened. >> I ended up in handcuffs. >> Yes. >> Because >> cuz I asked you for your driver's license several times. >> No, sir. No, sir. I was asking the process. >> I'm not going to debate that. It's on body cam. That's exactly how that happened. I asked you on body cam. I hope you know >> I asked you numerous times for your driver's license. >> You kept debating the stop. >> I was absolutely >> I told you that we could debate that in court. No, you No. >> Then I said if I don't get your driver's license, ma'am, then I said that if I didn't get your driver's license >> that I would take you that Yes. that I would arrest you and then you say do what you got to do and you put your hands behind your back. >> I said why? >> Okay. Yeah. I'm not going to debate that, >> ma'am. >> Uh again, court date is February 25th. If you'll sign right here for me, please. That's not an admission of guilt. It's promising that you're going to appear in court. >> And what if I choose not to appear in court? >> Then I will take you to jail. Yes. What if I would just pay the ticket? >> You'll have to do that through the courts. >> Okay, explain that to me that I can't pay the ticket. >> You can you can play it through the courts. >> You can't pay me right now. You can go through the >> court was she said go to court, but she pays the ticket. She >> That's what I'm asking. That's what she >> That's what I'm asking. That was a very simple. I said, "Why can't I just pay the ticket?" And it's like I said, "Yeah, you have you have to go to the courts." You >> have to go to the courts. >> It's all good. Let's let's let's go ahead and let's go ahead and get this. So, I'm signing this. >> I'm signing this. There's no admission of guilt. >> Yes, ma'am. No admission of signing this saying that I still have the option to pay a ticket >> and don't go to court on it. Yes, ma'am. >> Yeah, you didn't explain that very well. >> After verifying her information, the deputy removed Goodwin's handcuffs and issued her a citation for failing to make a complete stop at a stop sign. Next up is Congressman Martin Hyde, who was so consumed by his sense of power that he couldn't fathom being pulled over for a simple traffic violation. >> I'll just go with the chief. >> Go right ahead, sir. Can I see your license? >> I am, right? >> Yes, sir. I do. Can I see your license registration insurance, please? >> You going to do this? >> Yes, sir. >> You're not going to give me your registration, sir. >> Did you arrest me? >> Cuz she had a beer upon it cuz she thought she was on a big power trip. Guess what? She's been there 7 years. She ain't going to get my day. >> On February the 14th, 2022, Sarasota police stopped congressional candidate Martin Hyde for speeding and texting while driving. The officer identified [music] the reasons clearly, but was immediately met with defiance. >> Hey, how you doing? >> How you doing, sir? Offic Police Department. You're on audio and video recording. The reason for the stop. You were observed going 57 and a 40 and you were on your phone texting while you were doing that. That was at Uklid and Fruit Bone. >> You don't need to point at me, officer. >> I'm not pointing at you. I'm pointing in the direction where it was. >> I'll just do the chief. >> Go right ahead, sir. Can I see your license? >> I am, right? >> Yes, sir. I do. Can I see your license registration insurance, please? >> You going to do this? >> Yes, sir. >> I'm sorry. >> I still have a job to do, sir. >> What's your name? >> Offices. It's going to be on the citation. Can I see your insurance registration and your license, please? >> Sir, can I have your paper? >> 7 years, sir. >> Can I see your registration, please? >> You're not going to give me your registration, sir. >> I'm asking you if you're going to produce me with your registration. >> You don't have it on you. Look, go call. Tell him how rude you've just been to me. Play with the speaker. >> Okay. >> Call Marlon Brown. Will you call the mayor? >> Okay. >> We're not okay. Darling, tell me what's >> Okay, sir. Are you What if you want to reduce your registration? >> I'm asking you if you have your registration. >> You're making career decisions, >> sir. because you were speeding and you were texting. >> Where's your video? >> All right, hang tight. >> For some reason, Hyde was escalating the confrontation, questioning the officer's authority and hinting at his political influence. It was obvious that his office had gotten into his head, but it was only a matter of time before the officer knocked it out. >> Call the supervisor. >> I just spoke to your boss. >> Okay. >> You want people? Is it your Russian immigrant status that maybe for people like this 146 >> 14 dispatch, can you have my supervisor respond, please? >> Yeah. And then we'll see who goes. >> Okay. >> You don't want your paper. >> Sir, you're going to be issued a citation. >> Anything you have to say? >> I'll wait for the supervisor. >> You can wait for the supervisor, but I'm going to go through what I need to go through. >> No, I'm not interested. Are you are going to be issued the registration? >> Well, you've been already issued a citation for that for what? >> For fail to produce your registration. >> All right, sir. You >> You're going to be issued a citation 57 and a 40 for speeding. The fine is 256 with information in the back. You're going to have an option to plead guilty >> an option to plead not guilty and an option to take a safe driver's course. If you qualify for the course, it will reduce your fine >> and it will reduce your points. If you decide to go ahead and do that, just make sure you do a prior submission appointment. >> You know what he said about you? Do you want to hear what he said about you? >> He could say all he wants about me. I got a job to do, sir. >> You know what he said about you? >> If you fail like this, >> okay? >> And he's going to have you again. >> And that's fine. >> It's not fine. Why you keep saying it's fine, >> sir? >> I'm a law abiding citizen and you're being bloody rude to me. If you decide to go ahead and do the port, just make sure you do it prior to submission of payment as they do require a certificate of completion. If you sign up for it, you must complete it. Otherwise, they will go ahead and suspend your license. You are going to be issued a citation for texting and driving. Okay. You are going to be issued a citation for texting and driving. Your fine is 116 information in the back. You're going to have an option to plead guilty and option to plead not guilty. You are going to be issued a citation for failing to provide your registration upon request. Your fine is 116. Information backy not guilty. >> You're lying. >> Green paper. >> Green paper tells you you have 30 days to replace. >> Why are you lying? >> You have 30 days to replace. >> Your payment options are on the green form. >> Just some question. Why you lying? >> Phone number on the bottom in case you have any questions. When my supervisor comes, I'll wait for him with you if he likes me to. Your citations are over here. You have something. >> You have >> I will wait. I will wait, but I will wait on my car. There you go. >> Yeah, but you have the bad. >> Sheriff, step back into your car or stand on the sidewalk so you don't get hit by a vehicle. It's for your safety. >> 14 radio. Can I have another unit respond? 178. >> Sir, stand over there. It's for my safety and for your safety, >> sir. 104. The driver being extremely uncooperative. >> He repeatedly asked if [music] the officer knew who he was, implying it should affect the stop and insisting on waiting for a supervisor as the situation reached an impass due to the male Karen's massive ego. >> I can't. He won't let me leave until a supervisor shows up. >> Neither does my car. >> Martin. and hide. I just gave him three tickets. >> Yes. >> Bye. Speeding 57 and a 40. Texting while driving and failure to produce his registration because he told me I could look it up. And he's going to have my job. >> Everything is on camera. All >> righty. Bye. >> Are you still waiting for a supervisor or are you leaving? >> Randy is coming now. >> Okay, very good. >> By the way, a friend of mine. >> I'm sorry. >> Okay. >> I'm on my way over there. >> You know Pat Roberts, right? >> Yes, I do, sir. >> Why are you doing? cuz I have a job to do, sir. >> Nobody's above the law. >> No one's above the law. You have to have some degree of respect. The law abiding a >> That degree of respect started the moment I walked up to your car, sir. >> No, you knew exactly what you were doing and you made a mistake. >> If that is your feeling, you are more than welcome to fight the citations in court. >> Fight the citation. I'll fight you in court. >> Okay. You're more than >> that. Yeah. >> You know, you're an influential person. You're >> very >> You could go ahead and do that. >> Yes, I can. >> Okay. >> Why don't you say you're sorry? >> Because I did nothing wrong, sir. I was doing my job. But I am going to ask you either to sit sit in your car or step on the sidewalk because I don't want either one of us getting hit. >> Okay, sir. I have nothing more to say to you, sir. You requested my supervisor. You can have the conversation with them now. >> The sergeant soon arrived, and ordinarily, one would expect Hyde to being cooperative. He wanted a superior and now he had seen one. But whether he was going to behave himself was another ball game entirely. >> Mr. Hyde, I guess fr you start you talked to Sergeant Frani by the phone. >> I did. Yeah. >> Okay. He's on his way. >> She just she requested another unit. So that's why another certificate ticket for no registration when they've got their registration. She's trying to make her spurs, but it's a big mistake. >> Well, this one is the expired one, but >> Well, I guess I'm making it. Take two seconds. >> Yeah, >> we're going to make sure that she pays the price for being disrespectful. >> I just want you to witness it. No, that Yeah, the registration was right there and she deliberately chose to write the ticket. She came up. She said the first >> Look, there's a video of it, so be quiet. There's a video of what you said. >> There is. >> And I've got a video of what you said. Right. What she said was I don't have it. She immediately said, "I write your citation." She went right back. She never said anything. She went straight back. She I denied the she straight back. Right the >> I've lived here for 25 years. I've represented your uni. I've got no interest in listening to you, young lady. >> Talking to my sergeant. Sergeant, if you don't mind if we could step over off the road onto >> Come on then. >> Yeah, Mr. I did, like I said, you know, >> I've represented you guys in union discussions. My son is a cop. I'm friends with the everybody in the police department. This is the first time anybody has been disrespectful to me. >> And for what reason? I could care less if they were given right into I could care less. I just pay the bloody thing. You don't think I got the money? >> Mhm. >> It's the manner and the nature of it. >> Okay. And like I said, Sergeant Angion will be over here to talk to you about her her uh interaction. >> When the supervisor arrived, tensions eve slightly during discussions about the citations, but Hyde took his frustration further, launching into a full-blown rant. >> Stay in your car. >> I just want to go back to the station. >> You can go to Yep. Go to the station. >> Hey, Martin. Yeah, I have to leave it on. All right. >> All right. So, here's the thing. She lied about the cell phone thing. Okay. >> She lied about the I don't have the speed. I could care less. You give me the ticket all day long. I could care less about that. >> And then I gave her the registration and she before she registration. It's in the car there somewhere. She goes off. She writes me a ticket. She brings me back a citation. I said, "There it is." Okay. >> And she still gives me it. >> Okay. >> All right. She's being fun. And the thing is, I appreciate that. >> I back you guys left, right, and center. >> I understand that. I do. I do. I trust me. I do know that. >> I don't expect better treatment, but I don't expect worse treatment. If that's how you treat people, that's unacceptable. >> Okay, I understand. I understand your frustration >> and I can get the video and I can play it >> I understand that. But you know, the thing is I don't take kindly. She knew exactly because I said to her, I said, you know, right away I said she >> Yeah, I straight away writing the tickets. Why? >> Well, she's a traffic officer. That's what we do. But I understand. >> I understand that's what she do. It's not what you do and you know it. >> Listen, she has a job to do. I'm not Listen, I I'm going to look at the I'm going to look at the video. I I understand your concerns. I'm going to look at the video. I notified everybody in the chain of command right now. That's what I was doing. That's why I was not coming here. I thought you were going to meet me at the station, but it's not a big deal. I'll I'm going to She's going right now to dock her video. Right now, she's going to dock the video, and if there's problems, you will be the first to know. And >> I know, but the difference is I'll do something about it. >> Okay, I understand.
