crying and screaming all night the parents of the children were identified as Christina Co and Gilbert Bridewell as officers approached they could hear the distressing sounds of children in distress coming from within the home the scene that greeted them upon arrival was beyond their worst expectations and they didn't know that they were about to uncover a case of Parental neglect so severe it would sicken even the most seasoned law enforcement professional is that someone passed out on the ground right there yeah there's two kids in there what's up little buddy where's your mommy police sheriff's office hello are you looking for something yeah you me yeah yeah are you the mother of these children here yeah what's up they just they've been screaming and crying yeah they're playing can we go get it I think it's look like you've been asleep no bar days I've been in the hospital at this point the scene that was about to unfold defies belief in a Twisted mockery of parenting the mother paused blame on others the parents had created a living nightmare for their own flesh and blood and this horror was just beginning when was the last time you even changed her diapers as it's sagging there probably full they had a ton of juice and it was probably an hour and a half ago that I changed their divers does this seem to be a safe environment for your children yeah it's completely safe it's just they're very very loud and vocal and since both the windows are opened this is a safe environment huh we're still cleaning it out their uncle and aunt just left and they trashed the place so I'm not inth so far to be honest with you nether am I it's been a very very bad I get home from the hospital and his uncle like who we've been living they decided they were going to move out and completely trash the whole entire place and leave it that way and we've been dealing with it right the way it looks outside it looks like I mean this took a while to build up this yeah I go there I cing every single day is is that their room that's their room that's their play area do they have beds to sleep on yeah they have [ __ ] in there they fold them up when they play do they have bedding I see [ __ ] I don't even see bedding that's what the cops are that is their bedding I've already they have sheets pillows blankets yes they have they have pillows they have blankets in there I could go in and I clean it every single day and they take all of the toys out of the toys bin and they do that when was the last time you had a drink 10 minutes ago he goes through juice like it's nothing I literally go through gallons of juice in two days what do you have that's holding that screen and besides tape just the tape because he tries to push it out why wouldn't you just close the window there's no air circulation in that room and it gets really hot so when he pushes that screen out and comes into this then what oh I'm sorry or he just gets out and runs around in the neighborhood our grandmother is really literally right right next door you think your your grandmother's looking out for a 3-year-old 5-year-old running around at 11:00 p.m. no I'm sorry can I see the inside of your house please so cleaning like that's the officers likely met the father Gilbert but he was nothing different from his wife his unending senseless excuses meant their kids were in real trouble and things were not close to getting better do you live here yes sir I am the father you've been working all night or what yes sir how long you've been living here I've been living here roughly two three years it was on and off because my uncle had originally thrown her out which I had to move out with her and we move back in once everything kind of cleared up so you're the father of all three children yes sir okay you just uh she just had the other one like what five days ago or something yeah it seemed to us that she was sleeping took several to answer the door so in case of emergency she she would have never known yeah I mean I know you have a child camera in there so if I walked up to that window where they're sitting out there talking to a complete strangers that they don't really recognize as law enforcement pull that screen off and take that kid through that window how are you going to know i' see it you'd see it while you're at work not why I'm at work but while she's here I well she's here sleeping the camera doesn't can't raise your kids man there's 10,000 choking hazards in that room while she's passed out they could stick a car in their mouth you know how kids are they stick everything in their mouth swallow it choke out on the floor while she's sleeping he's banging on the door that obviously is not enough to wake her up next thing you know your kid's dead yeah you see where we're getting at yes sir cuz right now I have enough to take you all to jail yes sir for felonies I completely understand DCF is coming out tonight okay they're going to inspect what we've seen and we're going to figure out a plan from there all right what does she do for work she is currently on but she just after having a baby she had surgery okay who's all the narcotic paraphernal and bongs The Masks the smoking bong masks that's in your car the pipes the Grinders the weed they're L ands how come they're laying out on the floor where anybody can access them I didn't even realize my bag had been opened see we have a problem with that too I mean you got I mean you're an adult you can make your own decisions but the children they don't know what they're putting in their mouth they're within the reach of the children covered in cockroach droppings I don't know if that's my droppings or not I'm not a professional on it yeah you know she's sleeping if they're hungry that's what they're beging for with food in the room what do you think they're going to start eating you know what's poisonous and toxic food that's on the ground that the Cockroaches are running all over you know they're going to go if they're hungry they're going to put it back in their mouth there's cookies pretzels everything's just laying all over the ground yes sir what we're getting at is this is an unacceptable environment and it's neglectable to your children and we don't know if you're going to be charged at this time we're waiting on DCF they will conduct their investigation how come there's just piles of trash that we usually we sit it out front but lately the cats are raccoons and get to it and that's what happens here hold on hold on hold on partner I live with raccoons too they don't do that and that and that and that that's not a raccoon that would might be a bear raccoon the size of a bear cub sitting out here last right want know why cuz he's eating all your food cuz you're just setting it like this I've had raccoons going through my trash too and yeah it it makes a little pile maybe like that maybe a little bit smaller but it doesn't do that it doesn't do what's by your front door right next to the window that's being held in by duct tape that they could easily push out who's in charge of changing their diapers uh when I'm not home it's her how come it looks like they haven't been changed in days they're basically dragging on the ground as they walk around she just told you they bring a lot I'm tell it's not it's full of feces I looked it's coming out the sides bulging out the sides then I cannot tell you I've Chang them today what are you doing to mitigate this infestation the like the roaches and yes the there's roach dropping throughout your entire house where they're sleeping there's I've been spraying fleas spray for the fleas I've been spraying roach spray trying to get as many of them as I can yeah it looks like the's on the walls that would have been from my brother son who like to take his diaper all I understand that but your brother's son is putting your children in a room covered with feces that they can go and pick off the walls once again eat once again cause infestation bacteria yes sir there's so many things that hurt or your children going on right now the officers full of sympathy and empathy for the kids went ahead to seek a place they could be accommodated for their safety their grandmother declined the request but she made an attempt to help them and eventually her sister law agreed to take them in however as the cops interrogated the father it started becoming clearer to them that they were probably dealing with the world's dumbest dad what other narcotics do you use I don't use anything else other than not prescrib medication and are you prescribed all right you want to go talk to her and see if they've changed for divers at least right behind you here yep they already agreed to take them over there all three the kids but just the kids okay I have some paperwork here that I'm hopeing you and your your spouse or girlfriend whatever will sign y because this just makes it easier if you can grab her have her come outside grab the children come outside and then uh we can go over the paperwork and then go from there fair enough all right brother that's what a bottle away from their mother that's carrying right in the end they were charged with child neglect possession of harmful drugs and putting their young ones safety at risk they both served quite a good time in jail the first couple might have been too dumb to be parents but they were nothing compared to Cynthia a mother who went as far as emotionally scarring her daughter while resisting arrest to a worrying call about a child's welfare from a neighbor the neighbor confirmed to have footage of the mother throwing her daughter on the grass and also against the door as the officers approached smelling like on March the 7th 2023 officers responded to a call that would reveal a shocking case of Parental neglect worried neighbors had contacted the police over a child of about 5 years of age crying and wandering around the estate alone as the police approached the apartment they had no idea of the heartbreaking scene awaiting them the child innocently revealed his mother's whereabouts but
