Now on to the experienced shoplifter who believed playing innocent would be his ticket out of trouble. >> You gave him $5 for a whole thing of crab leg. >> Yeah, sir. >> Set it on the hood. All right. Don't go nowhere. Come here. 55. He pulled a knife on me. He's running down for you. Stop right there. Stay down. You reach for that knife. I'll shoot you. On the 13th of April 2023, officers were called to a Kroger after a man swiped a bag of crab legs and bolted from the store. What looked like a simple shoplifting arrest quickly spiraled as the officer soon discovered that the man had more tricks up his sleeve. >> Yes, sir. >> Step over in front of my car. >> What's funny? I gave dude $5 for each store. I gave him $5 for >> You gave him $5 for the whole thing of crab leg? >> Yes, sir. through the hole of it. Oh, you can have us through. >> Set it on the hood. I promise you, you don't want >> You got his arm beat up. >> We're moving it to the back. >> Okay. Hold up. Please lift. Please. >> We're done listening. You want me to take No, man. I want you to break his damn arm to the ground. >> No, sir. Hold on. Put my arm back in. Huh? Put my arm back. I'mma tell him I got a bad heart. [ __ ] my wife want me to change. >> Come on, sit down. Man, what handcuff? >> Sit down. >> Uh-uh. >> Sit down, >> man. You got to lose your handcuff. Sit back. >> Hey, fit in my room. >> He tried every excuse that he could muster. Yet none could justify what he had done. >> Tried to hop the fence. The fence was open when he pushed it. He hit the ground. Oh god. >> No, man. Come on. Don't tell that lie, man. >> It's all on camera, man. Now look at it. >> When I did, dude, I can't f off. >> All right. We can't talk to you in this edition. We're just going to take you straight. Okay. We try to work with you. >> My hair. My hair. >> Try to work with you. This dude, >> what? >> My arm. Mom going to man. >> Your arm. For one, mom. >> All right. Well, the cuffs ain't coming off right now. >> I I want you to You ain't got to take the cuffs off. >> Yeah. >> Come on, man. I I don't feel comfortable adjusting them because you tried to fight us when we went trying to fight, >> dude. Stop. I was right here the whole Stop. I'm not >> Man, you kept trying to push my face down in the dirt, man. >> I tried pulling you up, man. >> No. No. Dad, you want to try to pull me up, but >> we're not talking right now. All right. If you want one of those cuffs off, you're going to have to work with me here. All right. >> Uh-huh. >> Okay. So, I need you to sit up here. >> All right. I need you to sit up. >> What happened? Um, you were at a Cro today, right? >> Yes, sir. >> All right. What happened after you left the Kroger? I start walking down the street and what what happened? That dude threw me a box of snow crab. I told I ain't got no $5 chain, man. He go give me the $5. I gave him $5. I start walking down the street. White dude came out the store said man let me have a box of snow crab right that day. I know I just gave $5 and I just kept walking. I know the police pull up behind me. Right. Then these white officers pull up the police trooper and uh I was going over to the store by the store. Then um he said I said I didn't he said you got that bang. I said I said I said I just g I try to give them back to him. >> Try to give back to who? >> I try to give him to the officer. Uh-huh. >> Then um he pushed me here and I I just broke out running. Then he caught me grabbed me by my back and me against the car and trying to push my arm behind my back. You know when he pushed my arm behind my back, he was hurting my arm. I told him he was hurting my arm, right? I told M I got a bad heart too, you know, like that day. Then he turned me around like that and like pushed me over the car like that day, right? So he kept trying to, you know, muscle my arm. I wouldn't let him get my arm back there like that. Then then he said something, right? So a box cutter was in my back pocket. >> Mhm. >> Box cutter was in my back pocket about him pushing me on the car. Took me in my damn back. So I pulled out and dropped it on the ground like this. And then he talking about, "Oh, you pulling out a weapon." I said, "Sir, I said I ain't pulling out no weapon." I said, "Come on here. I ain't crazy." I said, "This ain't my first time being." No sir. You know what that is? Then then I try to break out and run again. Right. Then when them morph pull up and I I ran these people backyard and throw me on the ground right there. That was it. >> Meanwhile, witnesses were ready to set the record straight. >> It was a reg it's one of our regular feeds. We noticed him coming in. We were watching for him to leave. Then when he did leave, the guard he had walked behind the guards. The guard couldn't see him. And I saw him and I glanced down and he had a bag of a bag with crab legs. >> Okay. >> And we went out the door after him and he just like he couldn't hear us. We were telling him. I said, "Dude, don't make me chase your ass down." And he just reached into his back pocket. I had already stopped. I wasn't going to go after him and he had gone into his back pocket and pulled out a knife, had it in his hand. >> It didn't take long to uncover that this wasn't his first stunt. He had prior shoplifting convictions and was already banned from another Kroger. In the end, the man was charged with felony shoplifting, aggravated assault, criminal trespass, and obstruction. Moving on to William Boardman, a paranoid man who turned on anyone who tried to reach him, and even sped off with an officer clinging to his car. >> But William, with what I just walked up on, I want to know what's going on. >> I want them to leave. >> What's William? What's going on? >> I don't need you know it all. >> I'm not going nowhere cuz I'm not against the law. [Applause] He's out. He's out. >> Shots fired. >> Shots fired, dude. >> On the 16th of June, 2023, officers were dispatched to a quiet neighborhood for what seemed like a routine welfare check. A woman had called in, worried about her father, 61-year-old William Boardman, and his erratic behavior. When police finally came to face him, it was clear that William was spiraling out of control. >> Explain to me what's going on. >> Uh, they left. You guys step inside for a second while I talk to them. >> They left the post. I want their ass out. They [ __ ] my house up. They haveed up all my tractors, my vehicles, everything. I want them out of here. >> Who Who's they? Just those two >> up there. >> Hey, William, where you going? >> I'm going to go try and find a hat and some underwear that I could wear that they stole all my clothes. >> Are you grabbing it out of this truck up here? >> All right. Well, I'm just going to come. Is that okay if I walk with you? >> Go ahead. You can check every damn thing you want. >> Well, I don't need to look through anything. >> Well, what are you doing? What do you want to go to the truck for if you're not going to check it? >> Oh, I just want to make sure you're not going anywhere. >> Why? I got a driver's license. I'm legal. >> Uh, insurance, everything. >> But, William, with what I just walked up on, I want to know what's going on. >> I want them to leave. >> Okay. >> Simple as that. I'm not doing it in my house sleeping. >> Okay. >> I can't find my hat. Can't find my underwear. [ __ ] they sold everything. [ __ ] only reason the grass is cut is cuz they did it with the damn push mower because they up my tractor. Okay. >> They turned off the electricity. They got electricity cuz they switched it their name and shut mine off. >> I'm sick of all this. >> And they they sold all your stuff like your underwear. Yes, they did. You're aware of it. >> The day before, his daughter had tried to check on him, but he slammed the door right in her face, and she immediately knew that something was wrong. By the next day, William was furious about strangers staying in his home, except no one was there. His paranoia had reached a dangerous breaking point. Motorcycle parts changed, so shocks, [ __ ] goddamn suspenders are [ __ ] off. I'm sick of it. So, William, I told them they're going to take off right now. >> Yeah. Thanks. >> So, yeah. >> Can we maybe have a conversation, please, William? >> Yeah. Get out of my ass. >> Well, I can you can you explain the situation to me? Oh, >> you said they're uh >> you turning through your hand and wand and all that [ __ ] and >> [ __ ] this old lady [ __ ] come and >> kick my ass and me up and >> Okay. Now, >> yeah. Sounds crazy, don't it? >> No. Who's >> I don't know the whole situation. That's why if you could explain it to me. >> Yeah. [Music] I got to get some food cuz my refrigerator's [ __ ] electric. >> You What's William? What's going on? >> I don't need you know it all. >> No, I don't know it all. >> William, >> then I can't make a report cuz you guys won't open up your door. Excuse me. >> Excuse me. Please, officer. William, >> you are stopping me from going on my property and I'm not doing nothing wrong. >> So, I've got to go. You're >> I'm on gas. I got to put gas in. >> William, I need to talk to you. >> I'm asking please talk to me. >> No. >> Is there a reason you don't want to? >> Excuse me. >> Excuse me. >> By then, William had fled. What he didn't know was that backup officers were already converging on the area and would soon catch him on the road. >> So when I when I pulled up >> information, >> your daughter came outside crying. I mean, I understand they were >> they were on your property and you wanted them to leave. >> Yeah. And I want them to stay on it. >> Okay. What was said? >> I walked away. >> You just walked away. >> Yeah. I mean, that's what you were doing when I pulled off. You walk away. I know what this >> Well, I mean, you were there. >> So, why are they Why did they shut your electricity off? >> Cuz I'm eight cuz I put my hand on my face. Come on. I'm getting out of here, boys. Okay. Uh gas station. >> I'm not going nowhere cuz I'm not against the law. >> Give me your keys. >> You're against the law. >> Give me your keys. >> Give me your keys >> right now. >> You're going to have to take them. >> I'm asking you for them. And I'm telling you, you're going to have to take them. >> Okay. >> Are you going to try to drive away? >> No. I'll try and drive your nose through your face. >> I'm sick of it. No, it's not a threat. >> Not a threat at all. >> That is aing promise. >> You're not the law. >> You are the law and I'm not getting. >> So, what do you got for him? >> In that moment, William made the worst decision of his life. Driven entirely by fear and delusion. >> I'm going to go >> and get free to leave. Get your keys out. [Applause] Get Oh my god. Stop it. [ __ ] you. God damn it. Stop it. Stop it right now. Jesus Christ. [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] God damn it. 23 shots fired. [Music] He took off with me on the diff going to stop. [Music] He's out. In the end, William Boardman passed away after his encounter with the police. The last case is just as outrageous as the woman who turned a routine warrant search for someone else into her own downfall. >> Atlanta Police Department, make yourself known if you're inside. >> Chill. Tripping. No. >> Chill out. >> Okay. >> I'm trying to be cool. All right. Go ahead and take her, bro. We don't got We don't got time for that. >> Too tight. But you slipped out of them. All right. >> You stay cool with me. I say cool you. Yeah. >> Listen. All right. Listen. All right. I'm about to explain. >> Bro, did you just hang up? >> Just listen. I'm about to explain. >> Are you going Are you going to look at me so I can talk to you? >> Bro, >> well, you keep you keep you keep moving and stuff. Well, look, >> I don't give a you causing this stuff. >> Who is the warrant for? >> It's for Javante. >> Jamonte. Don't stay here. Hey. Hey. >> The This the address. This the address. This address. >> Are you going to listen at my crib? Are >> you going to have my crib? >> She's not going to listen. She's not >> cool. You're not listening. All right. >> Jamonte. [Applause] >> No, I just seen the police and I said that's cousin and I wanted to know what was going on. >> So you don't know where Jamonte stays? >> No. >> Have you seen him lately? >> I just seen my cousin and I said Oh, go ahead. You're fine. I just seen her and I said I don't know what's um going on. But I know her mama at work. That's what I was trying to >> Okay. Are you related to him? I know your name's act real similar. >> Yeah, that's my cousin. >> So just her cousin, not like a brother or anything like that. >> Even though the warrants had nothing to do with the people inside, one of them still chose to escalate the situation. >> His warrant is I can't tell you what his warrant's for, but on his warrant, this is the address that's listed for him, right? So has he ever stayed here that you know? No, you stay here. >> Okay. Has he never lived here? Nothing. Has he ever chilled here, stayed the night here, or anything like that? >> How How y'all know him? >> How y'all know him? >> That's her cousin. >> That's her cousin. Okay. So, for some reason, that's the address that he gave when he got arrested the last time. Okay. So, now on his warrant is this address cuz this is where he said he lived up. Okay. All right. So, that's what's going on. Now, what his warrant for, we ain't got enough time to explain >> what we doing. You know what I mean? I got you. I get around, bro. But and I understand why she upset cuz I'd be mad, too. Somebody just came to my house and started telling me to get out, right? But what his warrants for, we don't got time to sit there and explain to her what we're here for because it's one of those things where people open the door and start not saying y'all would do that, but that's what it is. You know what I'm saying? >> Yeah. So, yeah, you're good, man. Cuz it's my crib. It's my crib. The take me out of handcuffs. >> The warning the war the warning not for me. Y'all got me handcuffed for no reason. The is my crib. Y'all came in the crib for the wrong person. He's not here. Okay, let me go. >> I don't care. >> Don't call on the street phone number. All right. I can't even see your birthday on here. What's your birthday? >> Take it out. >> What is your birthday before you do catch a charge? >> Like I said, good to me. You've been taking a ride right now. What's your birthday? >> I'm not looking for her. >> So, what I just told your cousin is I understand you upset. I would be too. But there's a reason why we had to do this like the way we had to do. >> You could have just said what it was for. >> We don't have time for that because let me explain it to you in Okay. You know how many times I served a warrant and somebody said somebody in there and they was in there? >> I don't Okay. Hey, I don't know. Are you going to listen to me or do we got to go the other route? Cuz I'm trying to be nice here. >> Go the other route. >> They I'm trying to be cool. >> It was at this point that an unruly woman learned the hard way that these officers were not in the mood for games. >> All right, go ahead and take her, bro. We don't got We don't got time for that. >> Go ahead and take her, man. I mean, I tried to be >> I can't even read her birthday. She's not giving me her birthday. >> Obstruction. I didn't touch y'all. >> Bro, obstruction y'all resisting. I didn't resist. >> This is ours. We put her in >> for now. >> Yep. >> Yeah. So, if you can talk to me, I can talk to you. If you going to talk to me, I'mma talk to you person. >> Well, talk to talk to him. He put your address. Okay. >> It's not my fault. Y'all could have went to the other crib that he got on there. >> He didn't put that address. >> Whose fault is that? his and yours for letting him over your house. >> No, it's mine. The >> Okay, well, you'll be upset. Just set CCDC. >> I don't got to shut up. Just like you don't got to shut up. We can both talk. >> Yeah, but we could both still talk. That's the thing. That's the thing about America. Y >> locking me up for talking >> and we tried to look out for you. But >> we did not. Y'all didn't tell me what y'all was coming in my crib for. >> We said we had a warrant. >> Not for me. >> So, as I was trying to see, look, this is what you was doing. I was trying to explain to you. >> I was trying to explain it to you and you kept doing this. I I even told him to take you out of cuff so I could explain it to you and you kept doing this instead of just letting me explain it to you. >> It would have been so much easier if you would have just let me explain it to you. >> Listen, listen. >> It's my crib. >> In my guy that we took we took the cuff off of her and she kept going. >> Hey, so I was like, "Hey, how you understand?" >> She kept going. >> Just pulled you out your house and let me explain it to you. And then she had one. So I was like, "All right. >> All right. I'm going to search you again. >> Too tight." But you slipped out of them. >> Yes. >> That's another kind of >> How what the I'm saying that was too tight. All I did was >> But that doesn't If they're If they're too tight, >> what I was going to do, >> they wouldn't have been able to come off your hands. Are you kidding me? >> What the I'm telling you these are too tight. >> All right. Well, step out so we can put them back on. They're not too tight. If you get out of the car that you already sh >> The search for the wanted man was temporarily sidelined as her wild behavior only dragged her deeper into trouble. >> I tried to explain it to you. It don't matter. You don't want me to [ __ ] I mean it don't matter what I'm about to tell you. >> Yeah. Well, we try to be nice. >> Know the Okay. >> Sorry you feel that way. All right, lean against the car. Separate your feet. Separate your feet. Separate your feet more. >> You breathing hard. >> I ain't going to tell your cousin stop using your address. >> I'm just saying. Let's this guy. >> Grab your gloves. Out of the car. >> No. The pocketk knife he pulled. Was it out there? >> Next to the glove, please. >> Is it brown? >> No. Camo? >> Oh, no. Yeah. I don't know. He had it on him then. It was camo type. >> Camo. >> All right. >> You ready? >> All right. Let us grab him. Bring him out to the street. I'm going to get on my knees good. >> Watch his feet. He kicks. >> Oh, [ __ ] Pick again. >> I'm just warning you, bud. >> I got hurt in the head. >> Yeah, he tried to stab and then he tried for a gun right there, pulled a stick and jabbed me right here by the face. >> Okay. That's what he pulled on us. >> You want some water? >> No. Oh, I'm going to get ambulance to take care of my face. >> Beat the out of me. I just want to tell you I mentally ill. Don't me up. >> Beat me in the head. They me. >> I shouldn't resist the officers. >> I didn't. I tried to talk to him. They got me up. >> You got anything in here that's going to hurt me, man? >> I had a little pocket knife. I tried to give it to him. They go. >> All right. We might want to rethink that action in the future. >> They wanted it. Well, >> I'm sure they did. They didn't want it the way you were trying to give it to them. >> Eventually, he was taken to the hospital while the officers who subdued him were left hurting as well. >> Can somebody give me a rag? >> The paramedic's going to help you out here in just a second. >> Get a rag. >> They here with a uh stretcher for you, bud. >> Okay. >> They're going to try to wipe your face off soon. >> Okay. >> O'Neal, are you riding with me or who's going to be with us? >> Not me. I can drive. >> What? >> I can drive. I get myself a little >> Yeah, I'm good. >> You took a hell of a pound, dude. >> So, you took a good >> pound. What she said? >> So, so we were over here. The guy has the water open. I'm walking up. Do is has his primary contact cuz he can see behind him. Couldn't see me. I'm coming up behind him. He notices me. I was like, "Bro, how'd you open that?" You know, I was hot. We'll turn it off. You know, as Josh got closer. He drew one on. Let me see your hands. Let me see your hands. Guy had a pocket knife. >> I saw I saw He had >> Drop it. Drop it and he ran. >> He had the pocket knife behind him like this. And Tony was on this. >> Yeah. I couldn't see. I'm like where you're at. Like here. I'm like this >> walking up. I saw him the pocket knife and he had it like this. So I drew down on him and then he pulled it up like that. Dropped it. >> Yeah. I didn't see him drop it. I just saw him. >> He went No, he didn't drop the gun real quick. >> And then we went running. Um, and they turned around to fight. He went into the bushes. He tried to grab my gun while we were in the bushes. >> He got my He I got He got mine off the hole. He ripped my whole >> And then he stabbed me with a there. And then he stabbed me with a grab a stick. He grabbed his hand into his right >> and then it was on. This guy took four tasers. I mean, >> huh? >> Twice. What? >> Yeah. I mean, if taking our gun would be it. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> I'll get back in service. Can you check any suspended beneath the ditch? >> So, make sure that you guys tell Cody. >> What's up with your eye? Did it like go in your eye or is it >> No, he came down on it like this. >> I remember when when I yelled you if you if he would have gotten off you, I would have shot you. >> Yeah. I I I just couldn't see. My right eye could not see. >> In the end, the man was charged with battery on an officer, resisting arrest, aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon. Moving on to the confrontational customer whose heated argument with restaurant staff took such a dark turn, it ended in poisoning. >> I haven't done anything wrong. >> You've been yelling and causing disturbance. >> They I got them on video yelling and screaming at me. Got friends who are cops. I used to be a cop a long, long time ago. I don't go around professing. I'm a cop. These guys are They're going to get a lot You guys are actually being shut down right now. Every single employee here is being detained and nobody is free to go. >> On the 15th of January 2023, police officers responded to a dispute at a Taco Bell. A customer involved in a heated argument claimed to have been poisoned, which led to the closure of the establishment. >> What's going on, sir? These guys are mouthing off to me. Let me do my order. >> Okay. And the issue had is I I had an order with them and I was taking the order with them. >> Okay. And what happened from there? >> Well, they would they wouldn't they wouldn't let me trade out anything. So, why aren't you guys in here talking to these guys? I haven't done anything wrong. >> You've been yelling and causing they I got them on video yelling and screaming to me. >> Okay, that's perfectly fine. >> Yeah, they they initiated to them to me. The guy came out called me twice. >> Okay. >> So, don't sit there and say that I started it. These guys came out to me. >> Why would they come out to you? >> Because they were being >> I I placed an order. >> Okay. >> How's it going? >> Not bad. How are you? >> I'm a little pissed off right now. >> I sure do that. >> Yeah. I took an order. I paid for my stuff. These guys are all coming out here yelling, screaming, calling me names. I have them on video and they're telling me that I'm mad and that I'm calling them these. They came out to me first. >> Okay. Was your order wrong or something or what? They they don't they don't have any carbonation in here. So I I I always get the number two. It's got a three soft tacos and a freeze. I upgrade to a freeze. They don't have it. So the issue at hand is that they want to sit there and tell me that well it's it's a up it's uh they're going to give me something different like tea. I don't want tea or water. I can get water at home. >> Okay. So then they get a verbal argument with them or what happened? >> The guy started yawning and screaming at me from behind. This guy over here starts yawn and screaming at me. I got it on video. I got them telling me. I mean the whole thing about it is that the drink is actually cheaper than that that there was or $2.55. I said just give me a bean burrito. >> Okay. >> L means trade. >> Okay. Um, there was a comment about someone spitting on somebody. >> I didn't spit on anybody. I have a speech impediment. When I speak loud, it comes out. >> Okay. >> So, it's not an issue, but the guy wants to be an issue. >> So, you didn't intentionally hogi or spit in somebody's face? >> I don't even do I don't even know how to do that. >> Okay. Do you have your ID or anything on you real quick? >> Why don't you get your ID, though? >> Well, that's what I'm going to have him. Yeah, I'm good here. Go ahead and see what's going on there. The victim wasted no time in detailing what actually happened to the cops. Or so they thought. >> So just a verbal argument between you guys. I didn't touch the guy. I've been law enforcement before a long time ago. Okay. >> So I know that. But these guys ming off and I have weight and walked right up to him and says back off and he wants to talk to me. This guy here come up out to the thing twice. Calls me names. So I had people from the front and back. >> Okay. So, we you were in the drive-thru having an argument with the guy at the drive-thru thing. >> Yeah. But they were yawning and screaming at me. >> Okay. >> And the guy starts I'm talking to the people at Taco Bell and then they come up and they're yawning and screaming at me. Get the hell out of here. Just go. Just go. And I want my order. >> I ordered it. >> Okay. And then they told you to pull up front of here. And then that's when you were going in there. >> They the manager in there said, "Come on in. Come on in. Come inside to the lobby." >> Oh. The manager when you were parked here told you to go inside. >> I was leaving and then the guy comes out starts calling me names. >> Okay. >> And stuff like that. And I say, "Hey, you know, but the manager just come on inside the place." >> Okay. >> Well, is that >> So, so you're leaving, the manager comes out asking >> No, no. The manager was in the in the thing, the drive-thru. >> Oh, okay. Telling you to come inside. >> Come inside. >> Okay. Uh, looks like you're kind of blocking the drive-thru a little bit. Would you mind just pulling forward just so >> Well, there by the light. I'm big truck. Okay, that's fine. Has it Have you been drinking at all today or anything? >> I haven't had a drink in 25 years. >> Okay, that's >> I don't drink. I don't do smoke or nothing. Why is that a question that you do that? >> I saw you kind of stumble a little bit. So, >> I have a speech impediment. I've already said this twice. Speech impediment. I'm not [ __ ] I just have a speech impediment. I don't drink. I haven't had a drink in 25 years. I've never had a DUI or been in prison. >> That's fine. I'm not saying I understand you just sit there and said I have this thing like I've been drinking. Why? >> I just saw you just come up the curb. I just want to make sure. >> I got boots on. It's icy out. >> I just want to make sure you're >> No, you're being you're being difficult. >> I am not. >> You are. You said >> if you feel comfortable to go in your car, meet me over there. We'll continue. >> How much have I had to drink? >> I said have you had anything to drink? >> I drink Gatorade. What do I do? >> All right. >> Gatorade. >> That's fine. I >> No pot, no drink, no no nothing. >> Okay. I just don't want an issue to happen. >> You smoke cigarettes and these people flip cigarettes outside. >> Okay. >> You You see me spinning just now? >> I I do. I get it. I'm not holding anything against you. I just want to make sure you're capable of operating motor vehicle. That is it. >> Why don't you ask them if they're having drinks? I'm just curious. >> I'm talking with you. My my deputies in there. >> So, >> so I because I'm walking on rocks and uh my phone stopped working because I'm stopped. Walking rocks in ice and snow and boots. I'm drunk. >> I didn't say you were. >> Well, it seems like you asked me if I haven't I've had your drinks tonight. >> Asked you if you've drinking anything today. >> What does that have to be? I mean, I'm not a DUI. I haven't done anything wrong. >> I'm not saying you did. >> The man was clearly turning everything into an argument and only aggravated the situation further. I want to be left alone, but when people start coming up and you on the screening at me, I'm I don't have a right to talk back to them. Well, >> I mean, is it is it okay? It's one side of the world. >> No, it's not one-sided. No, I'm just wondering what what would you like us to do today? So, if if we find that there's charges to be able to be able to press on him or the employees there, would you like us to pursue any type? >> I don't want I mean, I just want my my I come here, but the lady says I do this all the time. I've never done this before. You know that lady, she comes out, videotapes me. But I I have it on video that I asked her. I says, "Just give me a bean burrito in lie of it." >> Sure. >> Do you know what? I mean, I'm not trying to be disrespectful instead of >> instead of There you go. >> Instead of being an educational thing. And she's like, "It's $2.55 for the drink. The bean burrito is $1.89." >> Okay. >> So, I said, "I'll take the bean burrito." >> Sure. >> But she's like, "No, I can't do that. You can either have a a brisk iced tea, you can have a cup of water. I'm like, "No, I get a mango freeze all the time. I have so many of these receipts that are all top bell. I get the same thing. I don't have any weapons." >> No, I was just I was just looking at what you're seem like a nice guy. >> But the issue is that I've got friends that are cops. I used to be a cop a long long time ago. I don't go around professing. I'm a cop. But the issue then is that people get a little defensive about, hey, were you reaching for things? So, I don't have any weapons in my vehicle. I'm sorry. No, again, I just by accident. >> No, you're you're fine. I I understand. >> But the issue here is that I'm just getting my Taco Bell if they don't have something here. And I started recording her when she she said, "Nope, you can get water." I'm like I was like, "Water? I can get water at home." >> Okay. >> You know, I I come here to get the the the free. Are you Rap County, by the way? >> Yes, Rap County. >> That's why I miss it cuz I just now saw a sheriff. >> Oh, yeah. Rap County. >> Why are we Why are you sheriff out here? And City of Aurora >> in instead of Aurora. >> Yeah. >> Uh it's just the how city of Centennial's broken up. >> Are we in Centennial? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> I didn't know that this was Centennial. I mean I come right up to >> Yeah. So Aurora starts um across the street. So Smoky Hill >> lived here 20 years. Never knew that. >> Oh, okay. No, it's all good. So all that side on uh from Smokey is Aurora or Yeah. is Aurora. And then we >> set this off. You got your video on? Oh yeah. Yeah. Got it. And then we start again. Um we have a lot of unincorporated areas and stuff that we that we touch. So >> I got I got the title registration that I just bought the truck for my dad. So he died two years ago. >> Okay. >> I got it um paid my mom for it. I have a little sale for it. I don't really drive this truck, but Ho is telling me I got to move some vehicles in. >> Sure. No. And that that kind of makes sense cuz when dispatch aired it out, it registered to your dad and George. >> Yeah. men rejoin. Yeah, absolutely. >> Despite his denial of being a bully, it became evident that he was after the employees. This was only the beginning of a crazy situation. >> So, my partner's in there. He's finishing up with them. Um, sounds like it was just a verbal argument. >> Well, why can't I I mean, why do other people I mean, these young kids I'm not trying to be disrespectful to you. They jump out and start yelling, screaming, calling me names. I'm twice their size, right? >> You know, I'm not trying to be a bully. I'm talking to them, right? >> And then they come out and say, "Hey, you got to move your vehicle." I'm like, "No, I got my issues with them >> and either they can back up." And I mean, I was trying to back up, but they wouldn't let me back up. >> So, it's either go forward and the lady says, "Well, you can come in." I'm like, "Well, >> right. >> I I want my thing." >> Right. And that's when he came in. >> Well, I mean, I only came in when the guy came out, started yelling at me. Little guy, baseball cap. >> Was he cussing at you or anything? >> Cussing me. I got him on video. >> What was he saying? >> Said, "You'reing." Say it to me twice. And he I mean he came outside to have a confrontation with me while I'm in the drive. I'm see I'm spinning it again. >> Um and the fact is that that when I was leaving he goes goodbye like that. So he did it the second time >> through the through the drive-thru window. >> He came out. No. No. >> Oh, he actually came out. Okay. >> And he's standing in front of me and I'm, you know, coming out. So then I stopped and I said, "Well, why you being like that?" And then the other guy's mad. But the issue at hand is I mean we're wasting more time. You're wasting time. You guys could be doing doing a million other things. >> Sure. >> And this is trivial, but you have other people feel like that they have to yell it at at me, >> right? >> You know, I mean, I'm not interrupting them. I'm not in their life. >> Okay. Sure. Right. It just seems like you just wanted something to be switched out and then somebody got mad about it and then >> I did. I I have the lady clear on the thing. She said, "But they say I do this all the time. I've never done this before." >> By this point, he was being friendly to all of the cops at the altercation. Do you think I spit on? >> Well, they said that somebody spit on somebody. >> Spit. I mean, I just have a speech with that. Sure. And my issue is that when I get more vocal wise, more verbal, >> it just comes out, right? >> But it's not an intentional act. It's just me talking, >> right? You know, and and that's and that's what I get from having this conversation with you. So, I I can already articulate that I don't believe that you intentionally spit on them. Like straight up hog spit. >> I don't know how to do that. seen people doing all the time. I don't do that. I've never done that. >> Sure. >> Here comes your boss. >> Oh, that's perfectly fine. >> Your partner. >> So, let me just talk to him real quick. >> He's a big guy, by the way. >> Yeah, we we get we go way back working the football player. I was play for what's that? Who' you play for? I didn't get to college. I wasn't that good. >> You're a big boy. I wouldn't mess with you. I'm not going to >> It's a good time. I mean, if you I always joke that I'm a big guy, but I'm 290 big tall. You know, there's guys that are 290 your size. I'm like, man, you got to be every bit of 200 lb. >> Yeah. >> But I'm just saying that I I would still if I ever got in a fight and I don't, I lose in the fight. We both lose. It's just stupid. So, >> do you mind if I just talk to him real quick over here? The situation escalated when the man believed everyone was threatening him. Unfortunately for him, all stories matched compared to his law. >> Do you have any questions? >> Yeah. So, here's my business card and on the back is the incident number pertaining to this call. So the fact that he's sat there and said next time you come out here I don't need to hear that. That's absolutely a threat. I don't need to hear it. >> Absolutely a threat. >> I'm not going to sit here and argue with you. >> It is. >> Do you have any other questions? >> It is. Yeah. I want to know the name of the people here. >> Okay. >> Why? >> Well, you gave them my name. >> No, I didn't. >> You did? >> No. I didn't even know your name till I walked out here and my partner told it to me. >> The the people that >> I had no idea who you were until I walked out here and my partner told me that your first name was Bruce. I have no idea what your last name is. I have no idea what your date of birth is. Nor do I care at this point. >> We didn't we didn't give any of your information to them and they we didn't give any of their >> What was the other than the man? >> Everybody's story is matching up that you wanted an exchange of a burrito for a drink. Uh some >> Yeah. For >> right the cuz the drink wasn't available and you wanted the burrito instead, you know. I pray that hey we what we can do in lie of that they didn't want she didn't understand that so that's why I asked with the Lord not being disrespectful right neither because she didn't understand that right >> but the fact of the matter is that these other you guys come out yelling and screaming calling me names I mean >> right I'm you imagine standing there and having somebody yell scream in your face I'm sure you get back in their face like you're in my face now >> well and according to them it was you who started you were getting in people's faces insulting it's at this point You say what you said video. I get it. >> And they have video of it, too. >> They do. >> Of of them. >> So, here's the thing, though. At no point did anything criminal happen. So, it doesn't matter what we're doing. >> Why is your investigation here? Because we were called here. If we're called for an incident, we're going to investigate. >> And at the end of the day, we determine nothing criminal. >> Anytime somebody calls 911, >> that's never called 911. >> That's the number that's generated for it. There's no case number. There's no nothing. >> So, I'm going to put call notes in that I talked to you. And you can say he was hot heavy, yelling and screaming and all that stuff. >> No, I'm just going to say it was just a verbal argument between a customer and employees. Nothing criminal. >> Well, no, but what about the people that were that were they were as well? I mean, there's like eight people. >> Okay. >> So, that's not just Bruce and and the employees, >> right? No, I'm saying all the employees that were in there having a verbal argument with you. >> What about the other people in the rock? You didn't talk to them? I talked to them. Okay. So, there's not an issue that They're yelling and screaming at me. I mean, you're just putting down me. Bruce is yelling screaming. >> I'm not doing anything at this point. The management of that Taco Bell just does not want you around. They didn't mention anything about the other two. That's not my choice. >> Here's y'all's thing. Y'all's report goes out to a bunch of people and they go, "Well, >> there's not a report going to be made. >> There's no that between me and the employees of verbal altercation. I'm saying why not these people that are in the lobby community now call me names. Why are they not being said? Yeah, they were young. >> Were they citizens in >> Yeah, I talked to them. I identified them. I know who they are. I have their contact info. >> All right. Okay. >> You shake hands or >> I I do knuckles. >> Knuckles. >> So, >> all right. >> All right. Thank you for your time, Bruce. Sorry about this. Thank you for taking the time with us. >> I All these years never knew you. >> Okay. Try to try to have a good rest of your day, sir. I had a great day. Okay. And so, but these guys are they're going to get a lawsuit. I guarantee it. >> After some more time, it looked like the argument had died down, but that wasn't the case. >> How many employees do you guys have here right now? >> Four. Four. Okay. Um, can I come in for a bit? >> Yeah, come on. >> So, what's happening is, um, you guys are actually being shut down right now. Uh, we have our supervisors on the way out and our investigations team as well. So, I need all your employees to come out to the front here and just have a seat. Uh, we're going to be getting a hold of the manager for the company. Um, and we'll explain a little bit more about what's going on um as soon as my supervisors get here. But again, for right now, every single employee here is being detained and nobody is free to go. >> Okay. >> So, detention um for what? Um, so it's going to be for um an investigation we have going on right now. Um, it's going to relate to the poisoning situation. >> Poisoning? >> Yes. But right now, so and I'm going to let somebody else elaborate on that. U, but right now I need all of the employees to just go ahead and shut everything down and come out to the front here. Okay. >> Okay. So, we need to call our GM. >> Uh, yes. I think we have somebody that's working on that right now, but you're more than welcome to give them a call um and see if they can come out here >> because we have no idea what's happening. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. The GM does need to get out here. We're trying to have somebody get in contact with him, but if you have a faster way to get a hold of the GM, that would be fantastic. >> Okay. [Music] >> All right, you guys. So, again, I say everybody to shut everything down and come out to the front. Okay. >> Okay. >> And again, nobody nobody can leave. All right. I can't let you take the food. Uh, there's an issue. You're going to have to call them and get a refund on it. I apologize for that, but you may not want the food is the other issue. Okay. [Music] >> Yeah. Sorry you guys have to go through all this. I know this is kind of abnormal. This is it. This is pretty abnormal for us, too. Um, so it's a, you know, folks a lot higher up making this call based on what we have going on. Um, so, you know, we're going to have some folks come in. I think they're going to want to talk to you guys. Um, I'm not 100% sure how this is going to operate. Um, we'll just kind of play it by ear. Like I said, this is kind of an abnormal thing for us as well. So, uh, if you guys have any questions, we'll answer them as best as we can. Um, but we're we're only going to have so many answers for you right now. Okay. >> Uh, were there any other employees that left recently? >> Oh, recently. >> Uh, when was the last employee that left? >> At seven. Yeah. >> Uh, how many people left at seven? >> It was us and it was one other girl. >> There's one other girl. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And then before her, >> it was at 5:00. [Music] >> 5:00. Two people left. >> At 5:00. Two people left. >> And the one girl left at 7. >> Okay. I mean, at least you guys are on the clock still, you know. Oh, it's >> you're you're at least getting paid to do this. >> How's it going, Sergeant? >> Hello. Hi. Hi. >> All right. How are you, sir? >> I'm doing all right. I'm guessing that will tell us exactly when, but I just sent you a picture what we're looking for. >> He had those three employees that left. is uh balls that >> the green balls and then whatever that or Yeah, the green balls cuz if you flip through to the next one, they're just on top. So, that's a lot more legit than I thought it was. >> Yeah. Correct. >> So he takes one bite, immediately starts vomiting, burning throat, all that other stuff. He's gave consent. They're going to go CSI is going to leave the hospital after collecting the food and the poison. They're going to go to his house, collect all the vomit samples with the poison in it. >> Okay. I'm just going to let them know what's going on real quick and then we'll start checking around. >> Yep. >> So we're going to start checking around exterior trash cans. Trash cans inside. This is what we're looking for. So it was actual rat poison was put in the food. So, it's these green balls right here. So, we're looking for anything like that, traps that may have been broken open. Um, there's more of it. And then there's also some kind of cleaning agent was put in there. So, what happened was the guy take took one bite of this immediately started burning, vomiting. Um, so they went to the hospital. They confirmed it is in fact poison hospitals. >> Yeah. >> So, right now they're treating us as an attempted homicide investigation. Uh, so just kind of, you know, trash cans, outside trash cans, um any place inside, you know, underneath stuff, any like traps that may have been broken open, anything like that is what we're looking for. Okay. So, I'm going to check the outside trash cans here. I'll go through that. >> Investigation can check the trash cans. >> Yeah. Or the want us to do that right now. Um so, if you guys want to check inside, I can check the outside stuff. >> Are we just going around here?
