Where is it? Where is it? Go! Go! Where is he? >> Most people had gone out that morning to enjoy themselves, spending the weekend in Texas and making fun memories, but not Jahouhie Jahjih. He stepped onto the streets with a very different purpose, a lethal one at that. As he moved through the crowd with an intense from the pits of hell. >> Where is he? Where is he? >> During the early hours of Sunday, March the 1st, 2026, the Austin Police Department received an unusual surge of frantic, panicked [music] calls. All pointing to an evil man who asked no questions, but was willing to pass undeserved judgment [music] on other civilians without any remorse. >> I um do you see him? >> I on 63rd and gunfire. The cops are here, but everybody >> Is anybody with you? >> Yeah, there's There's a No, nobody's with any but I heard like six gunshots from inside. Everybody's ducked down on the bottom floor. It sounded like it was from the I'm We're just right outside. We're hiding between cars. >> Okay. >> We're behind the cars. We're behind you. We're okay. We didn't run. >> You heard gun >> Like about Yes, there's cops cops running towards it, but there's more more would help out. There were six gunshots and there were still three more on the street beside Buford. Towards the right looking south. There was like three more. I think I'm going to be I think those were the cops fighting for fighting against it. There's also more sirens coming in. >> Yes, we have a lot of help on the way, okay? Stay in a safe place. I need to go to answer another 911 call, okay? >> Go for it. Thank you. Thank you. We're We're I mean I think we're fine in between cars, but answer the 911 call, please. Please. Please. We're all safe. We're all safe. >> All right. >> The calls drew a rapid response from [music] the Austin Police Department alongside Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services. And as units converged on the scene, one [music] thing stood out. The location wasn't random, and the attack was deliberate. Centered at Buford's on 700 West 6th Street, a high-energy spot known for its packed crowds, [music] especially college students and young professionals in their 20s. This made the situation even more alarming given how busy it could get. And how the attacker had approached the area in a black Cadillac SUV while being heavily [music] armed without raising any suspicion. After the first drive-by shooting, Jagneciak parked his vehicle [music] near Wood Street and escalated the situation even further, launching another calculated melee on pedestrians with an AR-15 [music] style firearm. At this point, everyone present on the scene could only hope that the cops showed up on time to stop the disaster before it got any worse. The 53-year-old Jagneciak wasn't satisfied with what had already happened in the parking lot. Soon he turned back towards Buford's, his main target, where crowds of young innocent people had gathered earlier. The cops who had now shown up were no longer looking to make an arrest, at least not with the lives of so many civilians on the line. >> Hey, I'm with you. I'm with you. GO! HEY, LAY DOWN. GO! GO! GO! WHERE IS HE? WHERE IS IT? Where is it? He's on 6th Street. Where is he? WHERE IS HE? FIRE! FIRE! THE SUSPECT IS DOWN. Stop moving! Stop moving! Stop Don't move! Don't move! I'm on the suspect. Move here now. I'm on the 6th and West. >> As the investigation continued, the Austin Police Department confirmed that 19 people were struck with a firearm, including Giaguet. Three people, including the shooter, passed away at the scene, with Savitha Shan, 21, and Rinda Harrington, 19, [music] identified as victims. Sixteen others were taken to local hospitals with injuries. On March the 2nd, 2025, at 2:50 p.m., another victim, Jorge Peterson, 30, was pronounced deceased at the hospital, while two others remained hospitalized, including one in critical condition. After the scene was secured, officers noted clothing on the suspect that included a sweatshirt with a property of Allah inscription on it. And reports also referenced the T-shirt [music] with an Iranian flag design. Details investigators documented as part of the evidence. According to law enforcement officials, investigators were also exploring whether the shooting had been influenced by recent international events, including tensions involving the US, Israel, and Iran. Though no direct connection had been confirmed at that stage as authorities continued to focus on verified facts and the ongoing investigation. This video is based on information that was available at the time of production. And while every effort was made to present accurate and verified details, some facts may have been limited, evolving, or subject to change as new developments emerge.
