What you got there? >> Were you at Taco Bell? >> Do it look like I was at Taco Bell. Do it like Taco Bell. >> While most criminals fear the badge, others turn aggressive and for some reason believe that they can overpower trained officers and escape justice by any means necessary. But what really happens when cops suddenly find themselves under attack by these criminals whom they are meant to apprehend? >> Lift your hands. >> Kill me. [Music] >> Starting with the moment, Deputy Landon found himself at the mercy of an armed lunge. >> You got ID on you? >> No. >> No. Yeah, maybe the car. >> Really? >> You're going to get >> the ground now. >> Now, on June the 30th, 2025, Deputy Cal Landon of the Barryian County Sheriff's Office responded to a seemingly minor call, a vehicle parked illegally on private property. However, the responding officer would later discover that nothing about the incidents could be considered minor at all, and he was probably not prepared for it. >> What's that? >> All right. I'm just curious. >> Sorry. >> You're good. >> Queen 1413. You want an Indiana commemorative for me? >> You got ID on you? >> No. >> No. >> Yeah. Maybe in the car. >> Yeah. Do you mind getting it? Thank you. >> The driver, identified as 48-year-old Joshua Coffee of Southbend, seemed calm and cooperative at first, but this was all just a ruse to cover his sinister plans while waiting for the right moment to pull a stunt he'd wanted to pull all along. >> Tom Charles 451 Indiana commemorative. Really? You're going to get one run for me on foot on South Third Street heading south. >> Stop. You're going to get tased. >> You're going to get tased. >> Get on the ground now. dead now. >> Deputy Landon chased the fleeing suspect, eventually cornering him. That was when Coffee raised his hands in surrender. But as soon as the officer let his guard down, the real threat revealed itself. >> Get the on the ground. It's not my suspect down. You need help officer? >> I don't know. Oh my god. Barryian run medic call supervisor. Oh my god. >> Are you good am I? She obviously took off the car. >> I'm going to be crossing P6 Moda near on South Third Street in the little park. Oh my god. There go. [Music] [Applause] [Music] He pulled a fire. He pulled a me towards me. >> Okay. Go sit over there. Go sit over there. Moments later, Deputy Sabrina Larata arrived as the first backup unit to arrive at the scene and found Coffee lying unconscious. weapon still in hand, finger locked on the trigger. He passed away on the scene. While the last encounter was scary, it was nothing compared to the moment a US Navy veteran chose to ambush deputies. >> I'm hit. I'm hit. On June the 1st, 2025, El Paso police officers responded to a domestic disturbance at the 6,400 block of Pasovia. As the deputies approached the scene, neighbors pointed them towards a nearby house, and they moved in completely unaware that a deadly ambush awaited them. Wait a minute. Lose your hands. Lose your hands. >> As the officers neared the home, they found themselves facing the barrel of a weapon held by 35-year-old Salvador Valdiv Vietzo. Realizing that things had become too life-threatening, the officers quickly drew their own firearms, ready to take him down. But Vald Divietzo, a veteran ready to put his training to negatively good use, wasn't looking to go out quietly. And >> just when it seems like Valdi might surrender, he turned and fired, hitting the female officer in leg. And although it looked like he would stop there, the next events that unfolded would reveal otherwise. >> Let it down. >> Keep in the >> I'm hit. I'm hit. I'll put my camera. Okay. [Applause] [Music] Valdi Vietzo, a former US Navy serviceman and registered nurse at Three Crosses Regional Hospital, was dangerously injured during the exchange and later passed away at the hospital. The wounded officer was taken to the University Medical Center of El Paso and listed in stable condition. An ambush was the least of their worries as these deputies encountered a psychotic woman who had no problem with either damaging property or attacking the responding officers. >> Were you at Were you there before? >> No, it look like I got some mobile. >> Were you there before? >> Was you there? >> Shut up. Get the talking. >> Do it. Do it. Stop. Stop. >> On June the 16th, 2024, officers responded to an unusual call. A woman had hurled a rock through a Taco Bell window, shattering it completely. Believing that it might just be a case involving some crazy citizen who had a bit too much to drink. Deputies quickly tracked her down, hoping to apprehend her. But what they did not expect was to find themselves at a crossroads with the mad woman. >> How you doing, man? What's going on today? >> It's not me. I'm coming to ask you. I don't know. >> You don't know? >> I don't know nothing. >> Why not? My >> Yeah. What was going on at Taco Bell? >> What? >> What happened at Taco Bell? >> I don't know. You feel me? What happened at Paco? >> Trying to figure it That's why I'm asking it. >> [ __ ] I don't know. >> All right. >> We're about to figure it out. >> I don't know what the figure I don't give a >> All right. Do me a favor. Take your hands out of your pockets. Yeah. >> I don't got to take my hands out of pockets. >> Take out of your pockets. >> Do I ain't got to take my hands out? >> Take your hands out of your pockets. >> I don't got to take my hands out of >> You do? >> No, I don't pockets. No, I don't. >> You got anything on you? Any weapons? >> Ma'am, do me a favor. Take your hands out of your pocket. >> Take my hands out of my pocket. Look at you. We can do this the easy way or the hard way. All right. >> I ain't got to take my hands off nothing. >> We're here. We're investigating if you caused damage to Taco Bell. >> Okay. They said that you were here at the bus stop. >> Yeah. >> And they gave us your description. That's why we're here. >> Okay. I don't want to be here talking to you, but if there's something you want to talk about and calling us, I have to talk to you. Okay. Ma'am, what's your name? >> Ma'am, what's your name? >> We don't have to give me your name. What was you doing? Standing on the bus. >> I get that. But what were you doing before? >> No. What was y'all doing before? >> I was patrolling. Doing my job. >> But what were you doing? >> What you think? But I >> Were you at Taco Bell? >> Do it look like I was at Taco Bell. Do it like I got some Taco Bell. >> Were you at Were you there before? >> Do it look like I got some Taco Bell. Were you there before? >> Were you there? >> Were you there before? Yes or no? >> All right. Listen, ma'am. I just need to get your name and your information. >> Uh, you ain't getting nothing. >> Okay. Well, we'll figure it out one way or the other. >> Yeah, we shall be. >> Okay. >> Despite the officer's repeated attempts, the woman refused to say a word. Realizing the standoff wasn't going anywhere, the officer called for backup. Although it was the smart thing to do with the nature of the woman they were dealing with, calling for backup was probably going to do nothing to help. >> She's got a fel. When's the last time you used >> the last time you did that? >> They did what? >> What? >> They did what? >> Raintorm here soon. >> Yeah. >> Got to make a decision quick. >> Waiting on this guy. I don't know. 95. All right. Hold on. Give me one second. >> Did you get the >> I'll get everything else. I got the business and I got everything. All right. >> You got that belt down, ma'am. If you swing that belt, it's going to be an issue. Okay. >> Back over here. All right. >> It's going to be an issue with your touch. >> Come here. >> Come here. >> The metal parts at the end. Be careful. Oh, there's arrest. >> So, listen. You're under arrest. >> Can you come over here? >> Don't do it. >> Even after repeated commands, the lady would not comply. At that moment, the tension around everyone present was thickening, and the officers could feel that something was about to snap, and they needed to be prepared. Underground. Underground. Give me your hands. Give me your hands. Give me your hands. You're okay. >> Give us your hands. >> Yeah. >> Stop. >> Stop. >> Trying to hit you with >> Stop. >> Stop. >> Damn. It's okay. I got it. I got it. We're going to go to Harrison side. Ready? >> Yeah. One, two, three. >> Stop. >> Stop. Roll. Hey, don't try to bite me. >> Get the taser out. >> Now watch right now. We are okay right now. >> Watch. >> Stop squeezing my hand and pressing your nails on me. >> Do it. Weak as a mama. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Your mother. >> We're going to roll. >> Yep. There. One, two, three. Got to let go of that hand. >> You got her hand on. >> I'm not trying to get bit, though. >> All right. >> He'll come out. >> Plenty of time. Plenty of time. There you go. Stop. Yeah. No, you stop. >> Yeah. All right. >> It's okay. Check your front pocket. The suspect wasn't just resisting. Rather, she was putting on a wild, defiant show. And as her insults got nastier and more personal, the officers had no choice but to return the favor. Oh, he going to knock these. >> That's okay. >> Yeah, I know that work, did he? >> He's going to spit on me. >> Shut up. >> Shut up. Get up. >> Stop. Stop. >> Do it again. >> Stop spitting. >> Knock your ass out. >> Please stop. >> Keep touching. >> Please stop. He touching her. >> Get the me out. >> We're going to need a female for a search, but I think we'll just be at the station. >> Yeah. >> You got no weapons right here. We can see. >> I don't want you to have anything in my >> Damn. I have one. >> Get off of Are those your bags, miss? >> Yeah. >> Get off of her. >> Yeah, that's why they beat you. >> 95 outside of her. >> Get off of her. What the you holding her face up? Get the off. >> Do it. Do it. >> Yeah. Knock your Get off her face. Stop lying. You >> just relax. >> Shut up. Liar. Get off. >> I'm trying to help you right now. >> You ain't trying to stop. >> It was clear that the officers wouldn't let such disrespectful behavior go unchecked. So, they decided to bring out the serious tools and finally end the chaos. Oh, don't kick. Oh, wow. Why would you do that? >> Oh, wow. Beat the up, Jim. Don't kick. Stop. Kick. Get in the car. Stop kicking. She kicked me. She kicked you. She kicked you. >> 32. She's spitting all over my windows. Come on. Come on. We're not doing this. Coming. We're not doing this. >> Come to the back of the car. We got it. We got all your stuff. Don't >> stop. Stop. Stop. Nice and easy. >> Check your hand. >> Nice and easy. >> Nice and easy. >> Ambulance. >> Yeah. Touch her in the wrong way. >> Touch her in the wrong way. Touch her in the wrong way. Yeah. Scary. Now touch me in the wrong white. You know, while she beat y'all. >> Where my stuff at? >> You're going to get all your stuff. >> Yeah. Let her know your ass. >> Hey, Jip. Remember his face. Remember his face. >> Yeah. her jacket off and only The incident ended with the woman facing a stack of charges, including multiple felonies for aggravated battery on an officer, several counts of resisting arrest, and destruction of property. Speaking of cops getting attacked by criminals seeking to escape the long arms of justice, these deputies found themselves in troubled waters after encountering an armed robber. >> Please stop. >> Stop reaching. Stop. On June the 7th, 2025, a 911 dispatcher received a strange but urgent call from a Meadow View Circle in Lancaster. >> What's your emergency? >> Hi, there was a guy who just pulled a gun on me. I'm at Meadow Meadow View Point or Meview Lane at the apartment. >> What's the address? >> Uh I don't have the exact address, but it's on 15th. And >> do you live in the complex or are you just >> I do live in the complex. I do live in the complex. I was walking home and the guy took my took my headphones tried to pull on me and then when I tried to take my headphones back and hit him with my board to defend myself, he pulled like the stuff. And then he just came up to me apologizing, pretending like I was someone else. So no, I'm not with that. >> Was he white, black, Hispanic? >> He's Hispanic. He had curly hair and glasses and tattoos. >> Okay, hang on. >> Did he actually take your headphones? >> Yes, he did. >> And I got him back from him, but he took them. He tried to take my board, too. >> What was he wearing? >> Uh, black shirt, jeans. >> Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded swiftly, canvasing the area. One deputy spotted a man matching the suspect's description and proceeded to apprehend him. Ordinarily, things would have gone smoothly if the suspect didn't have other plans. >> Just take your hands out of your pockets. Put your hands on the hood. >> I could call her. >> No. No. Stop reaching your pockets. >> Stop. Stop. >> Put your hands on the pocket. >> I can call her right now. >> Stop. Turn around. >> Just call me right now. >> Come here. Vanessa, >> stop. Vanessa, the sheriff has the turn. >> Hey, I'm taking a 211 suspect at gunpoint. J12 just east west. >> Hey, turn around for the law. >> There was definitely something off about 31-year-old Eric Berios, and even his movements appeared suspicious. That theory was only solidified once Berios took off running. But his escape plan would soon immensely backfire. [Applause] I'm not doing nothing to run. >> I'm not doing that to run. >> I'm not resisting. >> Stop. Please arm. >> Stop. Give me your arm. >> Stop. Give me your arm. >> I'm not doing nothing wrong. I'm not doing nothing. >> Get on the ground. >> I'm not doing it wrong. >> Give me your arm. You're not doing the wrong. Please, please, please, please, please. I'm not doing nothing. I hope I helped her out. That's the doctor. >> Put your money back. I'm a resident right there. >> I'm not doing nothing. >> Put your hands on your back. >> You don't have to train me like this. I'm not done wrong, sir. Please >> stop. Please. Please. >> Please. Stop moving his arm, bro. Please, please, please, >> please, >> please, please. I'm >> not doing nothing wrong. >> As deputies caught up and tried to restrain him, Barios fought back with everything he had. In the middle of the scuffle, one deputy noticed something on him that would prove to be life-threatening for everyone involved. >> You want to know when you're [Applause] >> Stop reaching. Stop. >> Hey, Push. Push. Hey, put your shot 17. >> Stay back. >> You're going to get the team. Get back. >> Barios later passed away at the scene. A loaded 9mm ghost firearm was recovered from his person. One deputy struck in the lower torso was rushed to the hospital and listed in critical but stable condition. The last encounter left a deputy battling for his life. Similar to the moment an officer tried confronting an erratic and aggressive male. >> Come on. What are you doing? Be careful. All right. Hold up. On June the 7th, 2025, an Orange County deputy was on patrol behind the Save Discount Store on Hayawasi Road, waiting to make contact with 24year-old Charles St. Flur, who had been identified as a suspicious individual. But the deputy wasn't the only one who was feeling apprehensive, because Charles was equally on guard, and it didn't take long for tensions to escalate. Hey boss, what What are you doing? Come on. What are you doing? Be careful. The deputy didn't expect Charles to suddenly burst out from the back of the building, ready to attack. All right, hold up. Can I find one? [ __ ] you doing, bro? [ __ ] you. 212. >> The deputy tried to detain him, but Charles launched into a frenzy, pummeling the officer non-stop. And just when it seems like things could not get any worse, they did. [Music] In the chaos, Charles hurled two objects to the ground. later confirmed to be firearms, landing dangerously close to the struggling duo. Then just over a minute later, he broke free from the deputy, setting the stage for a devastating mistake. [Music] [Music] The deputy managed to get back on his feet and fired his weapon just in time, striking Charles. He was rushed to the hospital in stable condition. The deputy, suffering from repeated blows to the head, was also hospitalized for serious injuries. Charles was nothing short of a nutcase, similar to this aggressive dude who claimed to attack people just because he was God. on Leo. Leo, >> why are you trying to wrap him up? >> I'm God >> and you're going to pay for it. >> On September the 5th, 2024, the Sarasota Police Department encountered an unusual situation. Something straight from Greek mythology. A god among men. This unhinged psycho stormed through the streets like a wrecking ball, kicking, smashing, and tearing through public properties with zero regard for the law. The situation changed dramatically the moment the cops got involved, and everything became an allout showdown. >> Hey, police department, got to talk to you about the damage you just did. >> Got to talk to you. >> All right, he's walking toward main Lemon. I'm just walking with him. He's refusing halt. >> Dude, you're detained. You can't just walk away. >> I bet you're on basketball, >> dude. We got a bunch of All right. Going to be in a foot pursuit. Look at me. >> I'm going to kick you out, you little [ __ ] >> Stand up. Stand. Why are you trying? >> Are you okay, Jeff? >> Are you okay? >> Stop, dude. Why are you trying to >> camera? Just so you know. >> Oh, you're bleeding. >> Sorry. >> Am I bleeding? You >> No, not you. You got blood on you. >> Yeah, it's weak. Oh, you're bleeding. Am I >> Is that backpack I threw under your truck? >> Yeah, >> it is. >> Thank you. >> I appreciate you stopping, man. Thank you so much. >> Well, I appreciate it. >> I should back out. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah, that's the one you threw at me. Thanks. >> Yeah, >> right. >> My nut. >> I know. >> Listen, you're the last one, dude. If if I weren't in cuffs, dude, you wouldn't even be a cop. Okay. >> Women cops dude. >> I have a fuckingwhere. It's like >> it's clear. >> Realizing the cops had subdued him, the self-proclaimed god wasn't ready to go down without a fight. And he was going to put up a good fight that was going to need more than a few law enforcement officers to contain him. >> He wrapped up your leg. >> Sit straight up. Watch out for you. >> Hey, hold on one second. >> Hey, get a spit hood. >> You're going to die. You know that. >> I kick you in your face. I have to spit on you. >> I want to spit it on him. I'm the king. 144,000 new kings coming at you. >> What's that? >> Angels of God. >> You don't read your Bible, do you? >> Son of man. >> The so-called God was finally taken down and eventually charged with on a law enforcement officer and malicious property damage. Just as that deputy was horrifically attacked in the previous incident, so were these officers who least expected a delusional man to turn on them during a welfare check. >> Is there somebody in this house? Yes, it is. And it's not just me. It's a home invasion for real. >> You want us to look? >> I mean, you going to have to go through the attic or something. >> Come on. >> He's got a knife. He's got a knife. >> 33. I need a medic. Stabbed in the stabbed in the back. >> On October the 13th, 2022 in Dayton, Ohio, officers responded to what they believed was a routine mental health call. Upon their arrival, they encountered Tyler Antonio Patrick, clearly delusional and convinced that someone was inside his home. However, the officers didn't realize just how far gone he indeed was. >> Hi, Tyler. What's going on? You got your hand. All right. Make sure you know what I put on you. What's going on today? Not feeling it? Are you off your meds? >> We've talked before, remember? You recognize me? Mhm. >> No, not at all. You used to have braids, didn't you? >> No. >> Yeah, you used to have >> Yeah. They weren't braids, though. >> What's going on today? Here, you sit down. You want to sit down? >> Do you want me to talk to mom? >> I mean, I'mma uh put it in layman terms. Uh, what? You about to take me to jail for something? >> I'm not taking you to jail at all. What's up? >> I'm I'm just trying to figure out why are we here? Um um um um I don't know what to say. >> Yeah, you do. >> I mean, >> something's wrong. I can tell. I can look in your face and tell you something's wrong. >> It is. >> I know. >> At the same time, it's not what you think either. >> Are you feeling like homicidal? >> I don't know how I'm feeling right now. >> Okay. Well, that's why I'm here to talk to you. >> I'm tell I'm I don't I'm just saying right now. Please call no what she just called you for and I ain't really do nothing to her. >> Do you want me to ask mom what's going on mom? >> She saying I'm I I don't know. >> He's delusional. >> Okay. >> He is delusional. >> And you have a history of that? >> I No, I don't. >> No, I don't. >> He's delusional. >> No. >> Yeah. Yes, it's somebody in this house. Yes, it is. And it's not just me. And it's not me. >> You're scared because you hear people in your house. >> Okay. Yeah, >> I understand that. >> Yeah, that's 100% what it is. Okay. Does your mom hear those people? >> Oh, she definitely doesn't act slow. >> So, whoever else acting slow, no, I'm not playing. I'm sorry. I see you grabbing that. Is it me or them? They have a home invasion up in here. >> Okay. >> And I'm not playing. >> Okay. >> Do you have a um healthcare worker that you usually talk to? >> This ain't about healthcare. It's a home invasion. >> I understand. >> It's all the way different. >> It's all the way different. This ain't healthare. It's home invasion. Nothing right now. >> No, nothing. >> Relax for a second. >> Aren't you Aren't you diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia? >> Oh, this ain't paranoid. >> He got all kind of diagnosed. >> Yeah, >> but >> like I said, I've talked to you many times. I don't know how you don't recognize me. Maybe it's the beard. >> I don't know. >> I grew a beard. >> I'm just saying on who side on who on what. That's all I'm telling you. And you and I have always been >> if we've been cooler, then you should understand when I say it's a home invasion up in this house, >> then that's where it be. >> Safety is the key. Safety is the key word. >> But I don't feel safe with you anymore. >> Oh, but you feel safe with these people home invading your house. Okay. >> I don't feel safe with you. >> You feel safe with that. That don't sound right. >> It was a home invasion. Well, um, in our call, the callers could hear you say, >> "I'm not playing. I'm not playing. >> Well, if you sit down, I'll go look in the attic if you want me to. >> I mean, I'll check with it. You can go ahead. I'm right here. >> Okay. >> Disappear. Reappear. Batman and Robin. What it is? >> I know, but you're in the way. I can't go check. Let me >> check. See if you hear something. >> Can you sit here with your mama? >> Go check. If it's coming at me and my safety, I'm not playing with nobody. >> Okay? >> If y'all on my side, cuz y'all know I'm not going to lie to you like that. I know. >> Yes. If y'all going at me crazy like that, yes, I'mma be on bull. I'm telling you that as a man to man. >> What do you like to be called, Tyler? >> I'm Tyler Antonio Patrick. >> He couldn't comprehend why the officers didn't hear the voices that he was hearing. In his mind, either the cops were entirely delusional or they were treating him as though he were crazy. Regardless, he wasn't accepting it and things were about to take a dangerous turn. >> I'm telling you what it is. >> Your mother >> is worried about you. >> She's not worried. She's ignoring everything around cuz she trying to get me set up >> cuz you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing. >> I don't feel safe >> with your medication. >> I don't have medication. >> Exactly. Should be on medic. No, I shouldn't. >> Yes, you should. You always have been on medication. >> So, so you don't hear those people talking on the side right now? >> I've been here with social workers before. >> You don't hear nothing. >> Um, >> you're hearing things that aren't here. I hate to tell you that. >> I don't want to hear anything, man. >> But we need to go talk to somebody. Okay. >> We're trying to be real with you, dude. I'm trying to be real with you, too, cuz I know you hear them. >> I ain't deaf. Tyler, do you want to go to Grand View or Miami Valley? >> I'm going out like that. >> Well, you already know we have to. >> I'm going out like that. >> You already know. >> You got to get help, honey. You need help. You can't stay in this house with me. >> The best help you can do is pay attention to what I'm hearing, too. As for Patrick, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia and was taken to the Montgomery County Jail. However, once he arrived there, things became even more unpredictable. He began shaking uncontrollably and jail staff noticed a small stab wound on his shoulder. After a quick trip to the hospital, he was returned to the jail only to spiral once again, this time attempting to bite a staff member. In the end, Patrick faced three counts of assault on law enforcement.
