your kids okay do they have anybody where the kids can go do you have anywhere the kids can go tonight why they can't go with me what I do they live with you yeah all right sounds good we just want to make sure they're okay um it's cold out here and obviously it's it's late so um that's our first priority at the end of the day is just make sure the kids are good okay yeah but I'm trying to figure out um do you have do you share custody of the kids or they just live with you full time yeah me and my me and my girl do your girl do got you okay all right I was just we was going to go out you know what I'm saying I was going to take them to a babysitter you know what I'm saying they Uncle where's your girl at right now she out of town is she so you have the kids yeah okay and you were going to take the kids to a babysitter I was cuz we was going to go to the bar but we ain't going to the bar now who's the babysitter my UNC I mean their Uncle their uncle where do he live 8710 Pleasant prair I mean uh yeah 5 minutes away I was like 8710 what um 87 it's in that GPS 87 somewhere in Pleasant Prairie yeah there the kid's uncle said yeah to bring the kids there so they can go out one second just got one thing I'm not trying to be a DI or irritate you I know there's a lot going on but I was going to say what because because because there a lot of sh there's a lot of [ __ ] in the car that we have to figure out what's going on with it that's why what was what was in the car I'll talk to you about that in a little bit there was [ __ ] in the car all right so that's why all right what's up good I'll talk to you in a minute about what was in the car okay but the reason that you're in cffs right now is cuz one guy jumped out of the car there's a lot of stuff that shouldn't be in the car with kids in the car we got to figure out what the hell's going on so just sit tight all right you're you're detained right now okay so relax you're detained hey let's check the trunk did he inj no he was try to was that was that between his feet H was he was that between his feet yeah it was right next to his feet is this your W bro get a uh it's not I'm just honestly trying to figure out whose wallet is no that's not my wallet I actually I don't have my wallet at all I got Rob oh you're the one that gave you it verbally right no I'm the one who showed showed you on the phone right yeah the verbal ID is the guy the verbal ID is a driver this is the that's that dude yeah other guy yeah which we don't know who he is this is yours right this wall dog yes okay perfect thank you Dre's our driver driver Dre's driver right than that's first one yeah the first one that I ran [Music] out was taking the kiss of the house right down there those two were fine those two were Cooperative that guy I was trying to get his name he said he's going to pull up he said so mat Matt came up on that side smelled weed as step out so right now we have we still to notify DCFS come driver now we need to investigate for GU what was the reason you stopped the car tags want come back okay any Drive Behavior so I had order on him no Drive Behavior I saw just when I him so what do you call your friend no we got your cigarettes there I'll grab it's okay what do you what do you call your buddy again up in the front seat third three number three oh three what does that mean we're just going to switch cars here so hey you want to me I know it's cold man you guys to sit in the car for a while we're standing out here freezing what's your name man j j jere j j like kareim kareim jarim jarim okay J so dream what's going to happen here is is uh your buddy over here is going down to jail all right um the kids this is your uh the kids are your buddy kids yeah my little cousins oh your little cousins okay so we was actually going to drop them off at my uh yeah no no I understand so um your buddy is going to if it's okay he's going to drive the car okay all right but the the other officers here are going to take you down to the police department so that they can do the test make sure that you're okay and then um if you're good to go they'll release you from there your buddy can pick you up whatever and uh we'll be on your way all right so just got to bear with us for a few more minutes all right I'm going to close the door so you stay warm all right if I got a question if he's driving yeah uh if he's going to drive I'll have to go down because you if you were been drinking yeah I mean if you you had too much you're going to be at they're going to charge you with up you know I pretty well intoxicated okay that's all right all right watch your knee all right I got you put you in my car we're going over here yeah untighten a little bit yling after bro like y move face that way I got you you can't really blame this on me CU I I ain't blaming on you it's my fault I did it to myself I ain't blame nothing on you I just got a lot going on I had to do what I had to do you know what I'm saying know how that [ __ ] go I was trying to get Y no hard time that [ __ ] just happen you really hoping you're going to get away though yeah it was a reaction you feel me it was just a reaction bro just a like an instinctive thing just to be like all right I got to get going he just he just clicked in my head I apologize my head I'm glad you're being real with us though that's that's refreshing my first it was my first on that okay are you a felon huh have you have you ever been convicted of a felony before in court in Illinois uhuh Indiana is he willing to talk like if we brought him back like where the guns from where he got it from if he's used it before you think he'd be willing to like if you read in Miranda I anything like that should we try at least roadside here if you want to all right the right to remain silent anything you say can and will will be used against you in the court of law these rights in mind you wish to speak to me okay where are you headed to I guess where are you coming from we just came from my my my my homie house where's that at I I'm not from out here so I don't know I came out here where are you from then from Chicago you're from Chicago yes sir so I came out came out here with my my friend for the weekend okay um he going to drop his sons off up the street to his brother house okay and then where you going after that going go to back to back to my friend house or out a bar why do you why do you have a pistol with an extended magazine you knew I knew you had a gun I could tell by your behavior you ever use the gun no you ever shoot anybody with that no obviously you're going to say no I don't even know why I'm asking this but all right well we're taking it you're going to get charged for it cuz you don't have a license a carry concealed weapon and if you are convicted of a felony anywhere in the United States you're going to be charged with another felony for possess a firearm by a convicted felon okay but I got to look at your criminal history first otherwise you're going for obstructing for line about your name resisting and for carrying a steal Weapon It's all Mis charges all right hey here's the deal dude um so we're trying to figure out the kids situation they should have been in booster seats all right right so we're working with with DCFS to to uh get booster here for the kids um he blue zeros he said he hasn't smoke today do you give him consent to drive your vehicle out of here otherwise it's going to be towed yeah you do okay so number one thank you for staying in the vehicle all right that was a [ __ ] show so I I appreciate that all right um here's what we're going to do uh we're going to go back to our Police Department uh there's open INXS I believe on the door all right right by you uh so I just got to make sure you're okay to drive all right so we're just going to put you through some tests make sure you're okay to drive and then uh depending how that goes we we'll get you out of here okay all right I appreciate you so is he explain to you what's going on right now that other officer or no yeah okay so you're being aain right now you're not in trouble you lose zos number one thank you for staying in your vehicle okay when we were going what we had to do in the in the side there um you're going to be free to go here in a few minutes okay we're just trying to figure out the booster seets we're trying to figure that out can I please sit in the back with them please let me re with them I probably scar them and everything not right now just in a few minutes all right they're the it's warm in there we're talking to them they're okay all right they're chill okay um so did you know about the gun dude what gun you didn't know there was a gun in there hell no been in the you no you're not you're not you're not kidding me you have no idea no okay what I mean what was your who are these two to you who are who are these dudes the other the in the DFT side that's my cousin so the dude on the the driver's side next to the drive next to the driver the passenger on the front path that's your cousin it's no the driver side with the hair long uh-huh that's my cousin okay so so the driver's your cousin and you were chilling in the back seat yes okay where are you both from who you and your your cousin are you from around here where you all from Chicago from Chicago yeah okay all right and what about the gentleman um in the passenger seat the front passenger seat he my cousin friend okay so he's your cousin's friend okay so are all three of you from Chicago yeah okay and then you came up here and you were I've been living up here for years though bro you even live up here yeah in Pleasant Prairie no Lake County Lake County oh so you live in Lake County yes sir okay your cousin does he live in Lake County too is he still in Chicago yes he just came and visit me okay so did he pick up his buddy and come come up from Chicago then to come get to come to go outside come to come hang out with you Lake County and you guys were going to take the kids over to was it your uncles that lives in Prairie then to go to the bar okay you're going to drop the kids and go to the bar the bar okay um to your to your knowledge did you know about anything illegal that was in that vehicle no okay did you know about any any and you're not in trouble just be honest with me I mean there's there's an open INX there there's open INXS everywhere all right did you know about that nothing hell no I'm not saying you did you blue zero but did you know about the Blues in the car no sir no okay how long how long is your your um how long is your your cousin known as boy there I can't really I don't really know you know what I'm saying I I can't is he like an acquaintance do you hardly talk to him or no yeah he been around yeah I know okay okay how about how many years have have you known him have I known him yeah been a couple years okay all right is that your is that your blood cousin or is that kind of just like your boy your cousin marriage marriage okay so he's okay through marriage I didn't know it was a weapon I gu for real yeah on somebody yeah I didn't know that why do you think that dude was fighting us man he had a weapon on him he was right in front of him um so you know you know nothing about that was in that car at all no I wouldn't even have been in there kids all right all right just sit tight for me okay I just had to ask you about that all right all right so here's what's going on right now um you're going to be releasing and sit in your car all right um DCFS is on the way all right booster seat booster seats why y'all taking my VAP what's that we're going to test it dude it looks just like THD oil all right it's thick it's yellow through our training and professional experience right dude looks like we so miss silly to you but y y'all going to keep my stuff I need my stuff we're season that for now until we can determine it's not THC that's nicotine bottle okay we'll look at that when we get back but to us it looks like THC okay it's thick yellow oil all right that's that's THC all to us all right that's what it looks like understand you know what I'm saying the container could be different from what's in there yeah I understand that but I don't smoke where's your where's your where's your where's your phone at dog yes I know okay I'm going to grab it um just so we have it all right your wallet where's your wall that you got that on you you don't have that's right right got Rob okay this is your phone right do M yeah okay all right so just we're on the same page right now you're not under arrest right now okay you're in handcuffs because of your boy dipping out of the car okay what they I stay in the car I can fly I know I I really appreciate that dude so you're not in rest now you're detained we just have to go back on and get you a nice warm place to do these tests all right cuz it's close as hell out here I mean I don't care as long as I get in the car man I I do the test right now all right we'll go back back right now no dude I believe you I'm just saying when I was behind you I couldn't I couldn't tell where the template was from you know what I mean I couldn't see a state on it at all so I tried out of Illinois cuz that's pretty common and I couldn't get anything back out of Illinois so no I mean the car the car is fine yeah you're all good on that dude we're just going to walk in that garage where it's nice and warm right what's that fell out my cigarettes oh I'll get those in a second for you all right I got you so again you're not under arrest right now okay I just I know you're in the back of the squad car but um you were there because your buddy jumped out of the vehicle we had to literally fight him he reach for my partner's gun and so we just had to take precautions on getting everyone out and Hest and you know what I mean so until we could figure out exactly what was going on we had to do that so you're not under arrest right now um do you know you're not under arrest we just make sure but you understand you're not all right yeah yeah well the reason you're here is cuz it's 15° out so it's nice and warm in here so uh I just want to backtrack a little bit cuz everything back there happened quick all right that was so that that was your cousin so the reason that he jumped out of the car all right is because in the little hack sack that was right in front of him there's a gun in weed all right and he knew that he had that and he knew he was was a felon and he didn't want to go to jail again so that's what we found in the car and that's why he did what he did so that's why I'm asking you these things to try and figure out what's going on with that you know you know what I'm saying all I know is it was all going to go out and drop the kids off to the bar just to kick it half that's it that's all did you know the gun did you know the gun was in there no idea any any gun was in there at all he was reaching in that bag and there was a loaded gun with an extended magazine in that bag you realize how wrong that could have gone for us for you forever those kids more important we're people just like you man you know what I'm saying we got family at home too dude that's you you and your you and your your your brother in the back man like you guys did exactly what we needed to to make sure that my partners address the situation and everyone gets to be safe at the end of the day right my my little all right so talk about so in the in the cup right there you said you poured that as you left your pad to drop the kids off so for the first step I want you to put your uh feet together your arms out your side for me just like this awesome um you see TI my finger what I want you to do is f tip my finger with your eyes and your eyes only I don't want you to move your head at all does that make sense yes when I tell you to have you ever blown into one of these no okay have you ever blown into a balloon yeah okay so when I tell you to seal seal your lips around the tube all right take a deep breath in pull out like you're blowing with a balloon until I tell you to stop okay go go go go go go go go go go go good all right we'll watch it together what's the legal um what's the legal state of Wisconsin I have no all right dude the truthful all right um so you probably did a you know few shaps when you started so um you're going to be free to go now all right um here's the deal realize who you're with realize who you're with all right we never want to in our Korea we never want to get an atin well shooting ever that's not our goal all right I guarantee none of us want to do okay um people's actions dictate what happens and your buddy there and I know you're not being truthful on on how you know him how long you've know him all that stuff his actions could have gotten everyone seriously seriously seriously seriously hurt okay think of this as you get out of jail free card so you're going to receive a citation for the open and talks in the door okay um I know they're not your kids but you're the driver you're responsible for everyone in that vehicle you're going citations you're not having the the child seats there the child restraints that intersection right there that you were at just a couple months ago we had two kids killed in a car accident because they weren't in proper safety seats so in addition to everything else going on man like imagine again how much worse at any point any turn of events that this would be right so somebody gets killed or worse or a couple tickets and learn for let's go back to the squad you're not going to be handcuffed I'm just going to be sitting the back while I issue these I'll give you your phone you can call your buddy all right Sheldon Patrick was charged with felony possession of a firearm by an outof State felon as well as misdemeanors for obstructing an officer resisting an officer bail jumping and possession of THC
