supervising them when was the last time you even changed their diapers as it's sagging there probably full here are the times hero cops rescued kids from substance addicted parents starting with the case of this Florida couple who not only got high on substances but also neglected their children in the process you have three kids in the house the toddler's in a back bedroom by himself crying did you use any last night no I haven't I am cuz you are not acting normal right now while you were passed out your vehicle vomit on you in the dri SE your infant child was in the back bedroom alone naked next to this knife why were you asleep on the bathroom for when there's a bed right there that's no reason on November the 10th 2021 police in Flagler County Florida were called to perform a welfare check after someone noticed a woman unconscious behind the wheel in her driveway little did the officers know that the inter idual deserving of the welfare check was not the mother but rather her kids husband for child as well but instead of owning up to his mistake he decided to defend himself regardless of what it comes down to it's your responsibility her responsibility to take care of these children it's not a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old's responsibility to care for a 2-year-old in the middle of the night when both you guys are here I'm trying to explain it to you but you keep talking so she was the one listen for a second did you hear anything I said she didn't wake me up and say hey I'm leaving I need you to watch the kids all right but that's what it comes down to okay this officers knew something was not quite right alcohol you understand that right DUI can be drugs related as well it can be prescription medication related it can be chemical substances it can be an array of different things okay so I have a profound fear that you were driving under the influence and I want and I would like you to participate for side exercises toell my concern okay are you willing to do that yes sir okay you medical condition with your eyes my glasses all right where glasses besides um no no not are you able to walk a straight line and can you balance on trying to give sobriety tests to alleviate the officer's suspicions except it soon became apparent she was nowhere near capable of Performing them in fact the sobriety test was such a disaster that Jennifer failed failed to not only maintain her balance but also struggled to follow the officer's instructions the officers then had an important decision to make all right at this time you are being placed under officers found unknown substances in Jennifer's purse an onfield test revealed that Jennifer had more than two controlled substances in her possession including and in the end Jennifer was slapped with multiple charges including a DUI possession of a controlled substance and reckless endangerment but while Jennifer could at least blame the substances Christina here believed her children's screams were just them playing around they're not playing ma' he looks like he needs some juice or something they're very loud and they scream a lot yeah it's called a kid this is a safe environment huh we're still cleaning it out when was the last time you had a drink 10 minutes ago on April the 22nd 2021 in bunnel Florida officers responded to a call regarding screams of children coming from inside a house but when they arrived they discovered the downright deplorable conditions the poor children were subjected to and a very careless mother who valued sleep over their cries police
