You shouldn't even have out here. You got kids. Believe me, I know I'm a piece of [ __ ] Okay. >> Running into a reckless, drugged out parent making terrible decisions is already disturbing enough, but it gets even worse when those choices put their kids into life-threatening situations. What happens when these crackhead parents get caught red-handed, forcing the law to step in and clean up their mess? >> Can I resign for you? >> What's that? >> Can I resign something? >> No, I'm I'm just standing right here. You're all right. What you just put in there? Is that what I want in my mouth? >> N like eyes and all that. >> Let it go. Let it go. Let it go. >> Let it go. >> It's in my mouth. Do you want it? >> Spit whatever you got in there. >> Put it in there. Stop sucking on it. Put it in there. >> Here are several instances where crackhead parents get caught red-handed. Starting with a knife wielding father in a full-blown meltdown. >> It's that Chinese. Put your hands on top of your head and face away. >> Face away. >> On February the 5th, 2024, police officers responded to a call about a man acting out and threatening his family. The signs of a serious disturbance were clear the moment they arrived. As they approached the door, they hoped the worst was over, but they were in for a rude awakening. >> 15. We got yelling inside. Please come to the door. >> Get away from me. You knife. >> Hands. Hands. Hands. Show me your hands. Drop the knife. Drop the knife. Drop the knife. >> Step it up. >> Drop the knife. >> Drop the knife. Someone go to the back. He's going to the back with a knife. Set up a perimeter. He's in the house. >> Come out of the house, dear. >> Come out of the house. >> My daughter. >> He's just trying to >> The suspect was brandishing a knife. Clearly delirious and in a full-blown psychotic rage. However, what made it even more outrageous was the absurd reason behind his meltdown. [Music] is that >> he's got a knife in his left hand. [Music] >> Drop the knife, man. >> I need you to drop the knife. >> Hey, is ask her if someone else is upstairs. upstairs. >> The police inched closer to their target, issuing lawful commands in an attempt to take control of the situation. But this crackhead was hellbent on proving that peace wouldn't come without a price. >> Put your hands on top of your head now. Put your hands on your head right now. >> Put your hands on top of your hand your head. >> What about that? Put your hands on top of your head. >> Put your hands on top of your head and face. >> Face away from me. >> Face away from me. >> Put your hands on your head. >> Stop. Stop. >> Put your hand behind your back. I got >> stop moving. Stop moving. >> Stop moving. >> [ __ ] walk all the time cuz they locked me out of the house. >> Are you ready to sit up? No, I'm not. Okay. >> I just had to walk all around. >> Lay there for a second, man. >> I just said I just had to walk all around cuz they locked me out of the house. >> Let me know when you're ready to stand up. Okay. >> You don't got any other kn >> downstairs. You're ramping yourself up again. >> Yeah. >> Calm down. >> You got to breathe. Please [ __ ] Yeah. Put your knee in. All right. Roll towards me. Back door. Unfortunately, the police weren't the only ones paying the price. In his attempt to make things difficult for everyone, the suspect ended up making life even harder for someone else. >> We're heading this way. >> You checked out or anything? There's no scoot over the right. >> His drug induced meltdown was coming back to bite him, but he wasn't going down calmly. At least not without making things a little more interesting. is I you pig and those tire pig you pig [ __ ] but you want to take me one [ __ ] what >> any of those uh things hit you man What? >> Don't give a them gives a you don't worry about what hit me and none of your business. >> Is there anything out of your >> Who gives a you mother locked me out of my house? All you just keep doing and you mother come after me. You mother that mother and they're doing >> and everything else. No, I'm not. >> Well, I just need to make sure that what you need to make sure >> you going to be cool in making me check or no? >> I ain't making you letting you check. >> All right, I'm in there. Tip tap to the music. What's up? >> What? >> Just tip tap into the music. >> Yeah, cuz I feel like what you going to do about it? >> I was just asking. >> Oh, well, some different tunes. >> You okay? >> How about that? All down in the basement. >> I can't. >> That's okay. Huh? >> Any car in the area? >> Don't give us about that, right? >> 206 Firestone for the night. >> My daughter didn't call any of you guys at all. That's my wife. That's my daughter's house. My wife, my son, and his girlfriend are all chief in the basement. You don't >> shotgun some son got my weapons under disability. He got in his room. What about that [ __ ] Guess that don't mean that neither, right? >> To piece together what happened, a sergeant gave the substantfueled suspect a chance to share his side of the story. And he certainly had quite a tale to tell. >> Sergeant with the Aan Police Department. >> Oh, imagine that. Sergeant. >> Yes, sir. >> Yeah. >> So, uh, I just wanted to come and, uh, figure out what happened. >> Well, let me tell you, nobody else gave a, >> you know. Well, listen here. My son, >> my wife and his girlfriend were threatening my daughter. >> They have they have and they have guns in her basement. >> Okay. >> I told them they need to get out of there. >> Okay. >> Okay. They said me and my daughter. >> Sir, specifically with what what happened when you encountered the officers? What what happened then? >> But I'm I had knives in my hand. >> Okay. Yes, I did because I kicked the door in and my son came at me with a shotgun. >> Okay. >> So, what was I supposed to do to fit myself? >> What? What? What happened with the officers? >> They said, "Put the guns the the knives down." >> Uhhuh. >> And I said, "I'm not going to put my guns down." The shotgun's okay. He has a shotgun burn. I mean, to the basement. >> Okay. So, you had knives in your hands. The officers came in, told you put the knives down. You said you're not going to put the knives down because you just got a shotgun. >> Yes. >> And then what happened? And then when the So I tased them I threw them down. >> So they they shot a taser at you. Did it hit you? >> No. >> No. And then you threw the knives down. Yes. And then what happened? >> And that was it. >> Nothing else happened. >> Uh yeah. They came in here to arrest me. >> Okay. >> And uh you know I was kind of mad at so I resist a little bit. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Anything else? >> No. >> Are you injured? >> No, I'm not injured. >> Do you have any marks or anything? >> I mean I don't know. >> Any cut scrapes? You got >> I'm not sure. >> Is is this right here on your shoulder? Is that from tonight >> with the officers or >> Probably. >> Probably. >> Probably. >> Is that it? >> Yeah, they they beat me up pretty good. >> When you say they beat you, >> they kne me in my ribs for else. Yeah. >> Me and kicking you in your ribs. >> Yes, they were. >> Okay. >> Yes, they were. >> It all I went to a friend's mine's house. I left. But I was worried about my little grandbaby. And that's why I came back and they had the door locked. So, I kicked it in. >> Okay. >> That's the truth. You ask my grand my my daughter. >> Any sir, anything else to add as far as your encounter with the officers? No, that you did tell me. No. No. >> Okay. I'm going to get a couple of photographs of you. Okay. Um, you're not injured anywhere else. And this is to your knowledge the only markings that you got, right? >> I mean, I can't really see. How did I see myself? I'm handcuffed behind, you know. I don't really know. >> Looks like you got a little red mark right there. >> Yeah, I got red mark. Okay. I don't really know till I look in the mirror. take a couple photographs of you. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Clearly someone was being dishonest because when his son was interviewed a few things just didn't add up. >> Um so he your dad told us that it started with you pointing a shotgun at him. >> Is that a >> Did anything like that happen? Do you own shotgun? >> No, I don't own no weapons. >> You don't own any weapons? Uh so nothing like that happened? >> Absolutely not. No. At any point did >> Okay. At any point did you guys get into a fight while they were fighting? >> Where were you? You were just in the basement the whole time while that was happening. >> Okay. And did you hear us while we were up here? Cuz I >> Yeah, I heard you. Yeah. Okay. >> And >> I I stay down there to try to stay away from him. Jack up here. >> Do you mind if I just look and see if there's any shotgun there laying around? You don't have to. >> I I would rather you not. >> Got you. All right. Um, >> my girlfriend's staying over with me and she's already >> But nothing like that happened. >> No. >> All right. >> All right, man. I just uh wanted to make sure cuz he's obviously he's saying that that's why it's >> I'm sure he's saying all type of things. Yeah. Yeah, >> I believe. >> All right. Yeah, you're uh good to go back inside if you want. >> Appreciate you. >> Yep. >> Did someone grab your hand? >> Uh yeah. >> Okay. Finally, his wife was interviewed and she gave the police officers a chilling insight into the kind of man they were dealing with and the dark habits that fueled his rage. >> Who is he? >> He's literally my husband, but we're at the start of a horrible divorce. >> This is my daughter's house. I actually left like 3 months ago, moved in with my sister, you know, and we went fight and stuff, but he's just got some time to work. He thinks he's done because every time my daughter calls they don't do anything cuz you know you're not this dress like stop >> you know be real calm get here and everything >> he's too much he tried to come me with two butcher glass pipe down the basement steps in my face he stole my daughter's prescriptions out a few hours ago and just like open them and forever so I think that's why he's so nuts Having gathered this information, a police officer returned to see if he had anything more to add. But he was far more interested in venting his pent up frustration with the most colorful language he could muster. >> Mr. Yoder, anything else to add? >> Well, I guess I included anything else I told you. >> Okay. >> All you're all you're worried about what your officers did to me. I'm not worried about what I told you. >> That's specifically why I'm out here is to investigate the use of force. That's what I That's what I >> about who's outside to investigate where my son >> who's at. >> So that's the officers. >> Okay. They don't give a They told me they don't give a because my daughter is not the one that called. My wife is the one that called. >> All right, Mr. J. I'm going to shut the door. Okay. >> Of course, you don't want to hear. >> Hey, you have a preference of hospital pass monkey. That hurt so bad this time. >> In the end, he was charged with resisting arrest and assault with a deadly weapon. Next is this crackhead mother who was so deep in her addiction that she was willing to risk everything to satisfy her destructive desire. >> You're going to get taste. Nope. Nope. >> No. Not even give a hit. >> No. >> Why would you do that? >> Cuz I'm I'm justicing. >> They don't want you to come there cuz >> Don't come right there. There's all over the place. >> They're going to collect it and put a charge on me. >> You shouldn't even have out here. You got kids. >> Believe me, I know I'm a piece of >> You're a piece of [ __ ] >> On May the 24th, 2023, police officers arrived at a residence, take a woman identified as Chelsea Lee into custody. As a mother with a history of substance abuse, her reckless lifestyle had already raised serious concerns, especially given the immense danger it posed to her kids. But what the officers didn't expect was to catch her brazenly in the act. >> I got your last >> Chelsea right now. >> 26. We ever at gunpoint in the garage. >> Chelsea, get over here right now. >> Hands up now. >> You're going to get tased if you >> Nope. Nope. >> No. Let me get my hit. Let me get my >> No. No. Get it out. >> Let me get my hit. >> You're going to get drive. >> Let me get my hit. Come on. >> They gave Chelsea several orders, but she was too fixated on getting a hit to comply. So, the police had to deliver a jolt of reality she couldn't ignore. >> Stop. Drive. [Music] Chelsea, put your >> Put your hands. Stop resisting. You're under arrest. >> You under arrest. Stop resisting. >> Get it. Get it. Get it. Get it. [Music] Oh, >> what was she trying to grasp? >> She grabbed the Yeah, the crap. >> I saw I thought it was hair. Here, get that. >> Can you tiger, please? >> No, you're sitting here trying to smoke crack. >> One of us. >> Can you please force with the taser drive stun? She was trying to start 24 in right in front of us and then start resisting. >> I can at least take my pants. >> Well, you should listen. >> Please. >> No. >> Are you serious? I can't. My mom go get my pants and some underwear and a p [Music] >> scared. >> Who do you got under there? Joshua. >> Get Get back, please. Get back, please. >> Okay. >> Joshua, what are you doing? piss myself. Can you go get me some pants? >> Yes. Let me get her. >> Yeah, that's fine. >> I just need a pad. Hey, I need pad and underwear. I'm on my period. Oh, and a shirt, too. >> It was not the hit she wanted, but the one she clearly needed now. Shocked back to reality, the police questioned her and revealed some deeper issues. >> Why would you resist and try to smoke out in front of us? >> I just wanted to hit. I'm already going to jail. >> Don't matter. Now all this is going with us. Get up. Put your leg under you. >> 828 Scott. >> Sit down. >> Do you have anything else on you? >> No. >> Why would you do that? >> Cuz I'm I'm just an addict. I'm just an addict. >> We're not going to let you ingest dangerous right in front of us and then let you resist. Not going to work. >> I just wanted the last hit. >> Matter. What happened? You get that last hit and you die in front of us. >> I'm not going to die on CR. >> I don't know that. I do. I've been doing anything. >> Oh god. >> Stay there. >> I'm not going. >> Josh, turn back around. >> I just want a cigarette. That's all. They're right there. >> Nope. You're trying to hit that pipe. Come on. So, right now, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the portal wall. If you can't afford an attorney, you won't be appointed to you by the court. Do you understand that? >> Yeah. I just have a KBS >> 6. Miranda on the female. No, you got more than that. >> No, I got a KPS. I knew that. >> Yeah. Rights on him. >> Stand up. >> Chelsea was fully aware of her troubling issues, but instead of recalling from them, she embraced them, hiding nothing. Not even from those closest to her. >> Oh, hang on. My mom's going to get me potted. >> I don't I don't want her walking in here. >> Hey. >> Oh, she already knows. >> Is that uh 28? >> I don't I don't want to leave. to respond. >> Hey, he >> whenever you secure him. If you could secure her so I can make sure no one gets this. >> Yeah. All right. Here. Walk out here. >> Well, as long as no one goes in that garage. >> That garage ain't nothing. >> Well, there's stuff everywhere. >> There's not. >> There is. >> No, there's not. There's one thing of that's it. >> Okay. Well, now there's going to be it's going to be ours to take. You'll have more charges. Might even get tampering for throwing that pipe on the ground. >> I didn't throw it. You tased me. >> I didn't throw it. You tased it. I had it in my hand. I wasn't trying to throw it. I just got >> Hey, no. Hey, can you hold on? Stop. >> She don't want you to come there cuz there's drugs there. There's all over the place. >> They're going to collect it and put a charge on me. >> Can you put her in my car real quick whenever you get a chance? In her pitiful state, it was unclear whether Chelsea was devastated by the state of her life or just upset that she couldn't get one last hit. But one thing was certain. She wasn't just a danger to herself anymore. She was putting others into the line of fire. Especially considering the fact that she was a mother to some children. >> Can I say goodbye to my kids? >> Okay. Yeah, we'll worry about in a second. You shouldn't even have out here. You got kids. >> Believe me, I know I'm a piece of Okay, >> you're a piece of [ __ ] >> I just say you guys to make some better decisions. I know. I was in Rio for a year and a half and I got >> Did you already advise rights on him? >> I don't know. I'm going away. Mom. >> Okay. >> I know. >> He needs charge, too. >> He's going to get charged. >> Yeah. >> You guys need to not allow this in your house. And how many times have we all talked about that? A bunch. >> I know. >> And she's know she's not supposed to be here. >> I know. >> I tried to tell her. >> Why are you here if you're not supposed to be here? Is this your car? >> Yes. >> That's hers. >> That's mine. >> That That one's yours. That's Eddie's. Whose is that? >> That's hers. Mine. >> So, you got you got That's your new one, right? The new one that you have. >> That's my new one. >> You don't drive anything, right? Cuz you don't have a license. >> No. >> No. You um I don't know. He wants >> I don't know. Uh >> can you take her over by the car so she can >> No. She's going to have to sit back there for a minute while we get this stuff done. >> We'll worry about that in a second. They she already made the choice to run down the steps and everything else. As soon as we see someone that >> I didn't I was just standing there and I tried to take a hit and they said that I they tased me and then I said I tried to run with the crackpot and I didn't. I just wanted to take a last hit. >> I know, Mom. I'm sorry. >> I've heard that many [ __ ] >> You won't Where was he hiding? Behind the car or under the car? >> On the ground next to the car. >> All right. So, all right. Whenever you uh just I guess just let's put everything on your hood for now and then we'll put her in the car. Collect that and then we'll get >> Okay. All right. Walk over here real quick. You're going to go in my car. Okay. For right now. >> Can you give me >> Do you have anything else hidden on you? Cuz you get to the jail. It's another felony. >> Nope. >> I love you. I'm sorry. >> Josh, just stand by. >> Stand right there against that back window. >> If you drop anything back here, it's going to be another felony. Okay. >> I'm just warning you. All right. >> There's more under the car, too. >> Yeah, it's everywhere. She threw it all on the ground. That's why I'm saying tampering on hers. >> A mother's instinct is to protect and nurture, but Chelsea's constant substance use had completely warped that instinct, leading to the troubling consequence of allowing someone far from ideal near her family. >> Hey, Josh, you need to be straight up with me right now. I've never uh been bad to you. Even when I we got all that crap you the first time and I know you're known for this. >> Who put the under the car? >> Under what car? >> Well, Chelsea had a bag in her hand and a pipe. Is that her that she threw under there or did you throw that under there? >> I didn't throw nothing under there. I have no idea. >> I got you. Hey, can you stay out of the garage real quick? Eddie, hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Can you walk out here? >> Yeah. Walk out here for us. >> Walk out here. There's all over the place. >> Can you walk out here? cuz there's all over the place. I don't want you to get hurt. >> Throughout the ordeal, it was clear that this wasn't the police's first encounter with Chelsea and her family. They were ready to offer help, even if she had no interest in helping herself. However, that help didn't extend to shielding her from the consequences of her own actions. >> But here's the here's the deal. >> Yeah. >> You're not you can go you're going to go where your mom can watch you. Is your mom or grandma? >> Uh mom. Mom and grandma. >> You can go where she can watch you in the bathroom. >> Don't flush the toilet. >> Yeah. just because she's got everything all over herself. >> So, here's the deal. >> We'll we'll let her go in the Where's the closest bathroom? >> Um >> upstairs. >> Upstairs. >> She can go in the bathroom. We're going to You care if we look in there first. Make sure there's no weapons. >> Yeah, that's >> okay. She can change with you in there. >> Okay. >> She's not going to give you anything. The door's going to stay The girls door's going to stay cracked. No one's going to look in there. No flushing No flushing the toilet. No flushing the toilet. It can stay open, but none of us are going to be w looking. >> Okay. >> So, >> is the boy >> Is that her closed? >> All right. Leave the door open. >> Yeah. Leave the door open and change real quick again real quick. >> All right. >> We could have taken her out of the handcuffs, but you guys just ran in there real quick. So, >> sorry. >> All right. We'll walk back here. >> Made it easier on you guys. >> Not really. >> Yeah. You're going to have three. I'm not hurt. He's not hurt. But you got a couple other felonies charges. >> I love you, babe. >> You realize why you got chased, right? >> I know. I know. >> We can't have you ingesting. >> I know. >> I know what you use. How many times have I been out with you and Josh? >> I'm not letting you put that in your body. Okay. >> She was eventually charged with capius and two counts of resisting arrest. While Chelsea's story was a tragic display of addiction, the next person took recklessness to a whole new level, turning a routine parking lot stop into a full-blown investigation. >> Oh, you like ice and all that. >> Let it go. >> Hey, I love you. >> I deserve that because I'm a real at home. On June the 27th, 2024, police officers in New Mexico responded to a call from a local tea shop about an unwanted vehicle lingering in the parking lot. After briefly questioning the occupants, they turned to the tea shop employee who had firstirhand experience with these unwelcome guests. They had plenty to say and one simple request. >> Yeah, just hold tight. >> Yeah, I guess I was talking to her and I guess she was just rushing about. >> Okay. Do you have ID on you by any chance? How about you, man? Do you have ID? >> What's that? >> Okay. What's your name? >> Ashley. >> I got you. >> What's your date of birth, Miss Ashley? 219 calls back. Wait for a name and date of birth and know out of New Mexico. gas. >> Okay. That's why you guys are over here just asking for a couple bucks. All right. Give me just a second, Mr. Ray. Okay. You want to go speak with RP? See if she wants Yeah. See if she wants EPW. Just uh She's right there. >> Hello. >> Oh, busy day. Busy day. So, how how can I help you? Would you like them to be trespassed or >> No, I I can't not answering, but um I'm a TV and um I came in. You're super busy. I gave him some free tea cuz I felt bad for the cooler voice. And then she was walking around and I'm pretty sure she might have grabbed something, but I'm not 100% trying to they were out here trying to solicit our customers for money. And I'm like, "You can't do that. It's friend property." >> And I was like, "If you do it again, I'm going to have to She was trying to get all rude and disgusting with me." And I'm like, "Please." >> Okay. >> If you could just try to get down to the go, that would be great. >> I can do that. >> Yeah, that's all I can ask at this point without permission. >> Okay. All right. I understand. >> I appreciate you. >> Armed with new information, the police officers returned to the occupants now identified as Ray Ashley and his two boys. As they continued gathering details, something inside the vehicle caught their attention and immediately put them on high alert. >> I got you. I got you, man. >> Yeah. No, I don't think you are. You know, >> in the state of New Mexico, if somebody wants to refuse service to anybody or refuse their the right to be on their property, >> Yeah. >> I got you. >> What's up, buddy? What's that? Oh, I don't have any stickers left. This officer might, though. Okay. If he does, I'll he might have one. I'm going to wait till he gets over here and we'll see if we have stickers. Yeah, it's too too hot, man. >> Yeah, I got you, man. >> Okay, give me a sec, Mr. Romero. Okay. >> The police officer noted Ashley's suspicious mannerisms. She appeared to be nodding off, a telltale sign of intoxication. He also suspected that Ry might be impaired as well. To confirm his suspicions, he brought his concerns to a police corporal. With this new development, they both took a keener interest in the situation, especially with the two boys present. The police corporal stepped in, quickly sizing up the scene and uncovering even more hidden details. >> Hello, I am Corporal Ripley. Hey, so I know you've already talked to Corporal or not Corporal, Officer Kikin about what's going on, right? So, I guess you guys were were hanging out here for a little bit and there may have been some kind of disagreement between >> Okay. >> Okay. So, really what we what we have going right now is, you know, they're not going to want to criminally trespass you, but they don't want you coming back here just cuz I guess the disagreement. So, I just I just want to make sure that we understand that. Okay. There's not going to be a criminal trespass, but I strongly recommend you guys do not come back. So, let me let me finish talking to this officer right here. and I'll get back with you. Okay. All right. Thank you. >> The police corporal quickly determined that Ashley was the more impaired of the two. To make matters worse, it appeared that they were living out of their car, a dire situation for one child, let alone two. Adding suspected substance abuse to the mix only heightened the urgency. With the children's safety as their top priority, the officer set a plan in motion to deal with their reckless parents. >> Mr. Romero, is this still a good address for you? 3305 Old Cavern Highway. Okay. And what's the kiddo's name is in the back? >> Romero. >> Antonio Romero. >> Um, same as yours, I assuming. >> Are you biological dad and your biological mom? >> Okay. >> My mom and dad are alcohol. >> Oh, so cerosis. Oh, wow. Sorry to hear that, man. But these they're the two of the youngsters back here. That's what their name is. Okay. >> What's that? >> No, I'm I'm just standing right here. You're all right. >> What's that? >> I'll go check here in a sec. I might have something in the car. on a sticker. I have a sticker, too. >> If I can if I can find my stickers or square. I >> think it's shaped like this. >> So, got called here for solicitation. There's uh two people in the car right here with two juveniles. Um when I'm talking to them, gathering their information, it seems like the the female is influencing something. She's like on the opposite. She's sitting there like playing with her hair. >> Yeah. Um, father looks like this is dead use probably kids in the back. You could run your dog around the vehicle or is that a possibility? >> That's your reasonable suspicion. >> Even though the police officers had every reason to be suspicious, proving it was another challenge entirely. So, they called in some extra help to sniff out the evidence. >> Hi, Bubba. Ready to go to work, Bubbles? Hey guys, >> does he bite? >> No, he doesn't bite. But we don't pet him. Okay. Check it. Check it. [Music] Good boy. Good boy. Good boy. >> Hey, so that was a alert. Positive alert. >> Now that they had the confirmation they needed, the police conducted a search. One that not only uncovered something suspicious, but also exposed a brazen attempt to get rid of it right under their noses. >> All right, Mr. Romero. Yes, sir. If you could exit the vehicle, leave everything in the vehicle besides maybe your phone and your wallet. And if you could do the same um and the kiddos. Okay. So, let's go ahead and exit the vehicle. >> Get out. What's that? >> You can get out. >> Yeah. Yeah. We're going to have everybody exit. >> Um you you could uh go ahead and just take your wallet with you if you need it. Okay. >> My license. >> Okay. Do you mind if I look through your wallet? Can I talk to him first or you want to talk to him? >> Yeah, go ahead. No, you go ahead. >> What's your name? >> Ray or what? >> Ray, come talk to me. Ray, >> what's up, kiddos? >> How you doing, man? We're going to just step over here away from everybody. Okay. >> What' you just put in there? >> Nice. >> Let it go. Let it go. Let it go. Let it go. I got two kids total. >> So, you have a baby mama that's not in a relationship, but you have a kid a kid in common? >> Yeah. >> No other here. >> No. Making sure you got food, water, all that stuff that you're supposed to have for children. >> Well, I need to go grocery shopping, right? >> Well, I mean, we're not if if you got a little bit of food, that's >> The tension was already high, and now it was time for the cops to investigate the living environment. The man led them inside his house's compound, but later realized that he had made a huge mistake in doing so. Inside his house, the police witnessed something beyond anyone's imagination. >> Can you kind of just give me a rundown of what happened last night? Honestly, [Applause] we're in there watching TV and I rolled one up and I didn't finish rolling it. So, wait in the bathroom not thinking that I had to go. I had to go. I run in there and come back and she didn't eat all of it, but she had to get a little bit of it. How much of it was left? >> Probably about half out of like, you know, a gram or something. So about she ingested about half a gram of >> Yeah, give or take. >> And she's a month a year and a half old. >> Yeah, roughly. How how heavy is she? >> Oh god. >> She's not the big She's not a big kid. >> Okay. >> That's a lot of for a little kid. >> I kind of see she just seems lost and clenched up. >> Mhm. >> So I I called her mom and got her in the truck and bought out to the hospital up there. >> Why didn't you call us? I freaked out and I just I don't know if by the time y'all get out here I'd be out there. I I don't know, man. >> You didn't even notify us at all. >> I got to the hospital and told them what happened. >> No, I shouldn't have to come here looking for you wanting to talk to you about something that happened last night, which still to this to this point >> from the hospital. >> You still haven't even tried to bother to call law enforcement any sort of way. >> Your uncle had to call us. As a father, you should be the one. You're you're the caregiver for that child. That is your responsibility and your sole responsibility. If something happens to that child on your behalf and you think something's wrong, we are the first people you should call. I understand you may have thought I was faster, but the problem is you still didn't even call. >> I I thought I don't know, man. I freaking out the whole night. >> What's the deal with the What's the deal with the loose everywhere? >> You got loose all around the house, man. >> Don't clean up. You got a baby crab inside of your bedroom. You got a blunt half smokeok and blunt on the nightstand. >> You got loose grinder residue all over the the countertop on top of dog feces everywhere. >> Dog piss everywhere. >> I ain't been home. >> Okay, but if you're going to have a child here, you should clean up after yourself. And >> I have not been home. This is not that's this is not a livable environment for a child to be in at any at any point in time. >> The cop's investigation revealed that the environment was hazardous for anyone, let alone a one-year-old child. The sheer level of carelessness was evident everywhere, leading to this incredibly dangerous situation for the kid. With all the evidence stacked against the dad, it was obvious he was headed to jail. >> So, right now, turn put your hand behind your back. You're going to be placed under arrest. >> A dog in the house >> in a second. You're being placed under arrest or foul in the guard. Do >> you have any other in there besides? >> When was the last time you used? >> No. >> Never? >> No. >> You didn't overdose last year? >> Thought I did, but I didn't. >> Panic attack. >> You did a panic attack. Okay. >> That's pretty different than an overdose. >> So, you want to be honest? I was drunk. I hit one of those two and I started freaking out. thought I've ever done. I don't know. I don't do that. >> What's with all the strand of tin foil on the floor? >> Got it. [Music] >> All right. Let me ask you a couple questions. >> Yeah. >> So, all the relocated George, >> I know he already asked about harder. Okay. Is there anything in the house we need to know about? >> A little bit of somewhere. How much weed do you usually keep in the house at a time? Like when you buy it, how much you buy it? >> Quarter. >> Quarter. >> Like seven grams or so. With me switching jobs and everything, it's just last priority, you know. >> But how often do you buy them? >> Probably every week. >> How much you spending on it? >> 50 bucks a week. >> Probably got an ounce of shavings just on all your counters. >> It's accumulated. In a rush to work in the morning, I'll pack it real quick and then tear out and same thing next day. And it just accumulates. >> So all all the in there is it yours? No, >> it's mine. >> Do you know what the charges are? >> Child life. >> Is that a bad one, isn't it? >> It's a third degree felony, sir. When you came out of the bathroom after you rolled up one, what did you see? Was she actively eating it? >> No. And there was, you know, a good little bit of it on the floor. Just kind of watch it for a minute and then she something's not right. I [ __ ] hold ass. You still need to contact us. No, >> I didn't. I I just >> I I freaked out. You know, you see your kid like that, you >> I freaked out and I did the wrong thing. >> I have kids, so I can't say I understand. >> I'm not a bad guy, dude. I'm not I I do everything for my kids. I up. Just glad she's okay. >> She was having seizures. >> No, not no more. No, that was that night. She's been good. >> That was last night, right? >> Yeah. She's been good for the majority of today. They've just kind of been, you know, holding on to her. They had plans to go back up there, but that's not happening. >> Days later, the baby recovered and was discharged from the hospital. In the end, the father was charged with and banned from any contact with his own child. Next up, a mother who decided her kids could fend for themselves while she drowned herself in intoxication. It's I'm waking up. Actually, I'm not sure exactly what's going on. >> You're slumped over the wheel. You have three kids in the house. The toddler's in a back bedroom by himself crying. And you're out here passed out. >> He was hiding behind a chair in that room alone, naked next to this knife. >> On the 10th of November 2021, police officers arrived at a home in response to a report of an unconscious woman lying behind the wheel of a wrongly parked car. When they got there, they found a woman who was so wasted, she had no clue what was going on. >> Hi. >> Hello. >> What's going on? >> You okay? >> You don't seem okay. >> Well, I'm in my driveway. >> Right. You're in your driveway. You got some vomit around you and you're passed out behind the wheel. Let me gather myself. >> Okay, you go ahead and gather yourself. She's kind of >> step out. >> You want to come outside? >> Let's step out. Let's get you out of the car. Okay. >> Absolutely. Yeah. Absolutely. >> Do you live here? >> Of course I live here. I own I own this house. >> You know where you are? What house is it? What's the number? >> 57. >> Okay. Here. Come behind. >> Who call the police? Let me know. >> Well, somebody was concerned. I mean, you're unconscious in your car. That's kind of concerning. Back up. >> Are you okay? >> I'm fine. I'm >> What do you use? >> I'm waking up. >> What do you use? >> Don't use any narcotics. I'm waking up. Actually, I'm not sure exactly what's going on. >> What's going on? >> I don't know. >> You don't know? They said they found you slumped over in your car. >> I was tired. I was up. All of my delivery papers was, you know, >> the cops helped her gather herself a bit and began their task of trying to find out what the hell was going on. However, her detachment from the rest of the world was not the main issue. They soon realized the most draining and more truth. >> Where's your kid at? >> Working. >> Where's your child at? >> My kids are inside. >> Who's been watching them? >> Their sisters have gone. >> So, is there an adult inside? There is a 14-year-old and a 13year-old. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> I'm trying to knock on the door. No one's answering >> because y'all the cops. >> Can we go in? Do we have permission to go into your house? >> We do not. >> Come sit over here. >> Okay. >> Come over here. >> I have been working my ass off. >> Sit down on the bucket. >> Sit down on the bucket. >> Sit down. Y the bad guy. >> You're slumped over the wheel. You have three kids in the house. The toddler's in a back bedroom by himself crying. And you're out here passed out. >> He's in the back bedroom. >> He was Is this appropriate behavior for a mother? >> Absolutely not. And this has never happened out in the woods, sir. >> Okay. So, the people who have told us that this is a reoccurring thing, they're they're lying to us. >> No, I don't know who is telling you that. >> I'm not sure, but we're going to we're going to figure this out. Yeah, of course. Of course, because I am a good mother. >> Did you use any last night? >> No, I haven't. I am >> Cuz you are not acting normal right now. >> Okay. And I can explain it to you. Okay. >> Go ahead. >> Just listen to me up. I understand because of my record. It doesn't look good. >> I I never I didn't even look you up. >> Just saying. Okay. It doesn't look good. I'm so stressed out. I don't know if I'm in a separation. I don't know which way my life is going. I am on the edge of a breakdown. >> So, I know you were a little confused when I asked you where your kid was a little bit ago. Do you want to know where he was exactly? >> I told you where he was. >> Where was he in the house? >> I wasn't in the house. >> Right. That's what I'm getting at. So, I'm going to tell you where he was in the house. He was hiding behind a chair in that room alone naked next to this knife. Is that normal or does that concern you whatsoever? >> Absolutely not because I left him in the hands of my teenage girls. >> Okay. >> Which I thought was legal. I thought I was able to. >> Listen, if if your girls are capable of looking after him, that's fine. But you were >> unconscious with vomit all over you in the driver's seat of a car. So, I'm just trying to figure out how long has it been since you checked on your kids? >> How? Um, an hour or so. What happened between when you checked on them and you ended up in the car passed out like that? >> An hour. >> But what happened? What took place between you checking on them and you ending up in the car in that condition? >> What were you doing? What what happened? >> Okay, so I had left >> and what was I doing? >> Something. I'm still trying to gather my thoughts because I don't want DCF. I don't want anybody else. I don't want >> Okay. Well, do your best to gather your thoughts. Just to be clear, these thoughts are in the last 2 hours, so it shouldn't be too hard to gather them. >> No. No, sir. Please, out of all respect, guys. You know what happened across the street? >> I don't. No. >> My son died right across the street. >> You're what? >> My son. >> Okay. He he what? Logan Goodman died. >> Okay. >> Right across the street. >> I'm sorry to hear that. >> A year ago. >> Okay. I'm sorry to hear that. >> It's been very hard with that. >> Do you recall what happened between you checking on your kids and how you ended up in the wheel behind behind the wheel in the condition? >> I am getting there, sir. >> Okay. >> Okay. I can understand how it looks. >> I'm sorry that you had to go through the things you had to go through in the past year or so. And I'm sorry for the loss of your son. Right now, my main concern, my priority is that while you were passed out in your vehicle with vomit on you in the driver's seat, your infant child was in the back bedroom alone, naked next to this knife, hiding behind a chair. >> Where's the vomit? >> It's It's >> in the car. There's a little bit on your shirt. There's some on your mouth, your nose. >> Your girls are with him now. They just got a diaper on them. >> I am not under the influence, but in recovery, I have been clean. What are you in recovery from? >> January 20th. Okay. I have been >> What are you recovering from? >> A little bit of this, a little bit of that. Nothing hardcore. >> All right. Does that have anything to do with how you ended up here this morning like that? >> Things weren't looking good for this woman's kids. And as the cops dug deeper into the family, they kept uncovering more problems. And things took a turn for the worse when they found the father in a questionable state as well. >> Where's the guy that lives here? >> My husband? >> Yeah. >> He's at work. No, he's not cuz his work just showed up and they said they haven't heard from him. >> Are you serious? >> Is he passed out in here somewhere? >> Am I allowed to? >> We're going to go check. >> You're going to stay here for a second. >> This is my house. Just hold on a second. Hesitate. >> Yes. Right now you are. Yes. We're trying to figure out a lot of stuff here. So, just hang out for a minute. >> Hesitate for >> Sit down. Please sit down. >> Can I please go to the bathroom? >> Sit down. We will figure that out after. Sit down. What's up? >> Why were you asleep on the bathroom for when there's a bed right there? >> I don't know. There's no reason. What's going on? >> He's working his ass off. That's why. >> What is going on? >> Don't worry. I'll explain all of it to you. >> What's the real question here, officer? >> We didn't just mosey on in the street and mosey on into your house and just kind of start walking around there. There are things that led to this. >> Can you describe what some of those problems were? Yeah, a caring code because I fell asleep. Can I please? >> Not yet. Okay. >> We just got here. We're still figuring things out. >> There's nothing in my urine. If that's what >> I'm not I'm not interested in your urine. >> Well, sorry, but I got it up. >> Listen, I can't stop you. You're not going in the bathroom. >> I know. I'm going right here, sir. >> Okay. If that's what you want to do. I'm not gonna >> I have to. So, >> okay. >> I have to. Is this gonna Is this going to give me a charge? >> It's your home. Um, if you cover yourself with that towel and whatever you're doing. >> Yeah, I own this home. >> I can't stop you from doing that. At least I'm not going to. Um, as long as you're not displaying it to the public. >> Girls, girls, come here, please. These officers are having a hard time letting me go to the bathroom, so I have to pee right here. >> Hold this so I can go. >> If you'd help her cover herself. I can't let her go in the bathroom by herself. And she's saying that she has to do that right now. So >> I do. This is how, baby. This is how I have to potty. >> I'm telling her to hold it. But she's >> This is how I have to pee. >> Why? What is the problem? >> I I can't let her go into the bathroom by herself right now. She's detained. I'm not going to let her go into her room separate by herself. >> I'm not telling her she has to do that, but she's saying that she has to go to the bathroom. So, I'm not going to stop her. >> He's telling me I can't go inside to use the bathroom. >> Can we get this over with if that's what you're going to do right now? You're covered. Do whatever you have to do. >> She was clearly under the influence, but she refused to admit it and then suddenly broke down. >> We lost our son right there. >> I understand that. >> Have you been in that position? >> No, I haven't. But regardless of the situation, still need to care for your children. I mean, I can't >> care for my children. Can't >> explain that enough. >> So, >> it's our responsibility at this point to make sure for one that the children are okay, and two, that you guys are fit enough at the moment to care for them. >> Of course, we are. >> Well, right now, you don't you don't appear to be at all. >> I don't appear to be at all. >> I'm tired. >> Let me see something real quick. Do you mind if I shine this light here? >> No, go ahead. You got to >> So, you can see this as well, correct? >> What? >> Her pupils don't react to light. >> No, I don't know what you want me to do. >> Typically, I mean, if somebody somebody's under the influence, >> I had a brain injury three, four years ago. So, has that caused your pupils to not react to light? >> I have hypothyroidism of two. Can I hug myself? >> Can you just wait a few minutes until we figure all of this out? >> You fell asleep in the trunk and I fell asleep in the on the toilet >> cuz we've been pushing ourselves, baby. We are living across from where our son, we need to get out of here. It's not fair that we can't get out of here. No matter how hard we try, every day I wake up and I see my son on the pavement. Reliving it. The blood on his face. Reliving >> Stop >> the broken teeth. >> Stop. >> No, but this is what I go through every day. Well, you put it there to make me look like an even more of a dumb. >> You want to sit down as well? >> Yeah, baby. We're detained. Honey, we got to sit down and abide by the rules. Nobody should be in our room, >> man. Just sit down. Okay. >> Okay. Nobody should be in our room, sir. There is no search for it. >> Nobody's in your room. Nobody's searching your home. There's a lot of >> Where's the rest of the officers sitting? >> They're both standing right there. I can explain this to you. Can you sit down? >> Yes, I can sit down. I can't >> sit down. >> My hands are right here. >> It doesn't matter. Come sit down. >> Sit down, please. Just sit down. >> But they're in our bedroom. >> They're not in your bedroom. >> Okay. We have a lot of money back there. >> Okay. We're all of our cameras are on. Nobody's doing anything to you. >> Yeah. And how easy is it to push them off, sir? Come on, >> sir. You said you have one in your car. >> Yeah, he has one. >> At this point, the woman was overwhelmed by the influence of and kept talking nonsense when she was asked the same question repeatedly. Finally, the cops were left with no choice but to take action. >> You are arresting me. >> Put your hand behind your back. >> Why are you arresting me, sir? >> For everything that we discussed. Okay. >> We covered everything several times. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them, but I don't know what questions you would have. >> Yeah. Why am I being arrested? >> Well, that's definitely something we already answered. >> Okay. >> It's going to be You want me to just say like it's going to be? >> Yes. I'm going to put the cigarette in your mouth if you want to keep smoking it. >> Yes. >> Robert, >> we're going to go We'll talk to him. We're going to go over here to the >> car. My cigarette, please. >> Give it one more big drag. >> Can I please? >> Come on. We This is your second cigarette. We've been here for way too long. Let's just get this over with. >> Give it a good drag. Come on. >> All right. Drop it. >> There you go. >> Drop it. >> So, am I going to be able to say anything to my children or my husband? >> Well, let's talk to Robert in a second. All right. But not my children. >> Not right now. No. >> Supposed to be watching the kids >> at this point. >> I was sleeping. >> I get it. But >> which alcohol and like will do that to you. You'll definitely pass out. >> Oh yeah. I was sleeping. That's what I was doing. I was sleeping. At the end of the day, it's >> she was watching the kids and she was >> Well, that might be the case. But at the end of the day, it's both your responsibility. >> Nobody woke me up said, "Hey, I'm leaving. I'm going to watch I need you to watch the kids." Nobody did that. >> Took us a lot to wake you up. By the way, >> I was asleep. With >> all due respect, at the end of the day, we get a call. She slumps over the steering wheel and you're passed out in the b on the bathroom floor with a toddler running around here in an active construction site inside your house. There's broken glass. The doors unlocked, not latched. Both of you guys screwed up and I think both of you need to just own up to it. But where's my kids going to go? >> We have to call DCF. They're going to have to put in some kind of parenting plan for now. >> In the end, both parents were charged with child
