Help. Put your hands behind your back. What if I kill your mother? What would you do to me? Hey. I'm going to take y'all's lives. On May the 26th, 2025, officers of Oklahoma received a chilling 911 call from Eric, who supposedly needed an ambulance for his injured father. The dispatcher thought it was just a normal call until Eric did the most bone-chilling thing imaginable. Oklahoma 911. Yeah, there's a man in here. I called This is the second time I've called. This is the third time I've called. I understand that. I have officers on the way. Okay. Where is he bleeding from? I don't know. A couple different places. Hey, is it your leg? Or your shoulder? Both sides? How about your back? You want me to prove it? Take the shoes off. Last time they get here, which one do you want? Left or right foot? Which one do you want? Dispatcher, whoever you are. I'm sorry? Say left or right, and this will be on you. Okay. No questions, just left or Left or right. I need to KNOW WHERE the bleeding is coming from. Hey, left or right. No, sir. I need to know where the bleeding is coming from. If you don't say left or right, if you don't answer in 3 seconds, I'm going to hang up and I'm going to assume you said left. Okay? What is happening? It's okay. Just send somebody, all right? Say left or right. No, sir. I need to know where the bleeding is coming from. I'm still ON THE LINE. I'M ON THE WAY. WHAT is going on? He He wants to know left or right. It's him. What do you want? Who is he? Say I'll say here what? Right there in the same arm. Right there. No. Right. Oh. Oh. Say Oh. Say your foot. Whatever shoe it is off, we'll go from there. Okay, and that might be the last one, okay? Do it. Take your shoes off when you get there. Okay, at least Okay? You all count it. Six, I'll start it. No, hold on. Here, dad. No. No. It's okay, dad. That's fine. They're They're on their way. Hey, take your shoe off. You choose, all right? You shouldn't want to choose for you. Take Take it and get back up. Take it off. Take it off. Take it off. You want it right there, then? No. Or we sit right here in the name, huh? Okay, then. Can you hear this? Get down. Get down there. I want you to get on it. Get down. Back over here. Try it. Got to say something. Take your shoe off. Okay. Okay. It's okay. It was now evident that this call was from a psychopath who was torturing [music] his father, prompting the cops to rush to the location to save the man from losing his life [music] at the hands of Eric. But upon getting to the location, they seemed hesitant into the house. Police department. It's locked. We can't. It's locked. Come and unlock it. We can't. Open the door for us. It's locked. I'm not kicking it I can hear you. Open it. 326 [music] 453. Are you able to walk? Answer. Are you able to walk? Why can't you open the door? Stay inside of that. No, you're good. Is anyone in the jail at 453? Hey, we advise sending in there ordering We'll kick the door down saying they can't open it. Our RP is demanding we kick the door in saying he can't get to it. Come open the door. Who is that? What do you hear him say? I hear nothing. I can't hear it. I'll bring him out. There's two of you in there. One of you open the door. There's two of you in there. The one who can walk, come to the door and open it. You can't hear that. Yeah, I guess. I'm clear. I hear nothing going on other than him saying to kick the door. Come open the door. Come talk to me. All right, we're trying. All right. You ready? Let's see if With the man's life on the line, the only option they had at [music] this point was to break down the door. However, in the course of doing that, Eric finally decided to show his face. Clear. Open the door. What is going on? Step out here to me. Step out. We've got the door open. Apparently, Eric had attacked his [music] father with a knife dozens of times and chose to involve a dispatcher in his mind [music] games. But even after turning himself in, his sinister behavior was not over yet. All right, go down on your knees. Go down on your knees. Put your hands behind your back. Is anybody else in the apartment with you? What's going on? Okay. Is this blood all over you? What's the blood from? All right, get up. Hop up. That's a firm. Let's go over to this truck. You got a name? I'm Bentley. You know me? I don't think so. You've never seen me? I don't think so. Have you seen me before? What do you mean by that? Just in general. Yeah. Okay, that's cool. It's totally wild, but you never seen me. Picture or no nothing? Never heard of my name or face or nothing? Let's just get a couple of things established. That's all I want to talk to you about. Well, let me get you in here for a minute. I got to read something to you. You don't have any knives on you? Burden? I don't think so. All right. Yeah, hop in there. Have a seat. And I'll talk to you. Let me double lock these so they don't tighten up on you. All right. Okay. Hey, what you up? All right, man. If you'll hop in there, be careful getting in. Yeah. Hop in, man. It's going to get you there. Wherever you're trying to go. I'm not trying to go anywhere. I just want you to sit down so I can talk to you, you know? Are you going anywhere? I'm not planning on it. About 120 years, you going anywhere? I don't know. I'll probably All right, then, man. I'm going to get this right. I got you. Okay. Since I have you in handcuffs, before we do any more talking, I've got to read you something. By law. Okay. An officer tried to read Eric his rights, but the cops noticed that Eric's behavior was anything but normal. Do you understand your rights as I've read them to you? No, you got to read them again. Okay. You have the right to remain silent. Is this being recorded? Yes, sir. Anything you say can or will be used against you in a court of law. Okay. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him or her present with you while you're being questioned. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before any questioning, if you wish. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. All right, man. Do you understand your rights as I've explained them to you? In the end, Eric was charged with domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, as well as domestic assault and battery [music] resulting in great bodily harm. The case remains open. While Eric got caught early into his atrocities, Stephanie failed to cover up her negligence that resulted in the loss of a child's life. I think the charges over this. No, he didn't overdose. I prayed with your daughter over your grandson. Charles is over there alone. In a bag. On the morning of March the 30th, 2024, Dayton Dispatches received a heartbreaking 911 [music] call stating that a child had passed away quietly in his sleep. Charles went to sleep. He went to sleep as as He is Please come. Please come. Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am. What is going on with your child? He laid down with his sleep and I was on the couch with him. Me and my um little little He's He's my grandson. And he sleep Baby Baby won't wake up. He's cold as ice. He knows his bleeding. I wiped his nose. He didn't didn't move. Okay. Ma'am. How How old is he? Five. I was babysitting him and he's cold as ice. >> [clears throat] >> He's cold. He won't move. There's no breathing at all or anything? No. Nothing. Nothing Nothing at all. Oh, please. I called his mom. She's on on his on her way. Oh God. Is somebody coming? Yes. Somebody coming? Stephanie as soon as you can come. We have help on the way, okay? Okay. Okay. We're going to do what we can to help you, okay? Okay. Thank you. Officers rushed to the scene and identified the boy as 5-year-old [music] Charles Anthony Brown. Paramedics tried desperately to save him, but it became heartbreakingly clear Charles was already far too gone. But little did officers know that they would soon encounter the culprit themselves [music] hiding like a wolf in sheep's clothing and in plain sight. He's stiff. When was the last time you saw him? No, no. When was the last time you saw him moving? And I fell asleep. What time was that? Uh about I can't remember. About I guess 10 or 11 o'clock. 10 or 11 last night? Yeah. Does he have any health issues or anything? No. He wasn't nothing. Okay. And you said you saw him last night? Yes, about 10 or 11. And he he was in that position and then that's where he was at and then I seen him. So, when you saw him he was sleeping? No, I got up this morning. I wiped his nose. Some come out of his nose. So, about 10 this morning? I wiped the stuff and still in the toilet. I put it in the toilet. I didn't flush it. Okay. We're going to go. Okay. Ma'am, how old is he? And I called his mama. And how old is he? Five. Oh, his mama is coming. Is this brother and sister? Yes. They're twins. They're twins? Yes. How old are they? Five. Five? Yeah. Okay. Then how old is he? Three. Three? No. He had nosebleeds. That's it. That's it. He had no nosebleeds. The officers turned to the boy's grandmother, 58-year-old Stephanie Shanks, who was babysitting the three grandchildren while their mother was at her job. But before they could dig any deeper, [music] the child's mother arrived at the heartbreaking scene. Why? Sorry, you can't go inside right now. I cannot go in. He was alive. Come here. Come here. Come here. Baby. Come here. Come here. Why did I just want to feed my baby? Please. No, no. He said we're not letting her in. Oh my God. We'll have to talk to her. Huh? Well, we'll have to talk to her. He said he woke up like that. I don't know. Oh my God. Please let me go see my baby. He's 32 weeks dead. Okay. Any Any other medical issues? >> No. No complications? >> No. None. Thank you. No. I'm sorry. Is my baby gone? Yeah. What? >> [screaming] >> Oh, no. Oh my God. Please. No. Don't put HIM BACK THERE. NO. DON'T PUT HIM BACK GRANDMA PUT HIM PUT HIM DOWN IN BED 10 11 LAST NIGHT. That's when she last saw him out here sleeping on the couch. Um this morning before she called said said his Yeah, like a She described it as a bloody nose. Wiped it up. The tissues are still in the toilet. And um noticed he wasn't responding. Called 911. Um Yeah, looks like he aspirated. Does everyone live here or Grandma's babysitting? Grandma watches the kids every weekend, she says. Okay. She was sleeping on the couch with the two boys. She said the girl was asleep in the bed. She was sleeping on the couch with During a thorough search, investigators [music] uncovered a disturbing clue, one that pushed Stephanie straight into the interrogation room. She had it at 10:30 11. She said like that. We told Charles to get in bed. Well, Charles sleepy. I said we'll get on the couch and lay down and go to sleep. What did he look like when you saw him last night? He didn't really look I mean, he looked tired and high, but he didn't look like We don't know nothing about no physical Was he acting weird? Was he like stumbling or maybe like nodding off? No, he was He was just just tired. Just moving slow. He wasn't nodding off? No. Can you help me understand all the straws and stuff that are laying around? And the white powder and substances that are laying around? Well, it was from um me doing boy earlier again. Like when me doing boy down. You doing boy earlier is in when? Um Friday. And just for clarification, boy Right? Uh-huh. When on Friday were you doing this? Um that morning. That morning? What time you get here? What? Around what time? Um about 7. I had it at night, but I did it in the morning. Cuz I had it You know I had it once a day. And I thought I had it once a day. So, I get that. Yeah. You can tell you had it once a day. I get it. So, I did it. After Stephanie admitted to using substances and the officers gathered their evidence, they laid out what they believed really happened. I think that Charles overdosed. No, he didn't overdose. That's That's my suspicion. All right. Now Now, we're going to find out some more when he goes through an autopsy. All right. We're going to find out some more from his blood results. But it wasn't nothing in there when he went in the bedroom. I had all 10 all in there, but that's what I'm saying. That's all I was on there. So, when was he in there? He wasn't in there. He was not in there. The little girl, she went in there the late at night. It was cold in there. Mhm. And it was all off the straws and everything. I licked the straws and then I had my money. Mhm. >> [clears throat] >> That's why I I did that. When did you lick the straws? Three days before. Three days before? Yeah. Cuz there's I'll be honest, there was residue in a cigarette pack that you had with the straw on the table. Well, it wasn't nothing in the cigarette pack. I honestly I I'll tell you the truth. And And here's the thing. Like I know that there might not be very much or not enough that you would ever pay for or not enough that you would consider to be anything, but you you and I both know that two of a dog is something that you use regularly. That's going to be a different amount than somebody who's small. Now, you might have had it on your fingers. You might have had it on that table. You might have had it on other things. But the thing is is that you regularly have it in the apartment. Is that accurate? Yes, that's accurate. Yeah. And But Go ahead. But it wasn't nothing in there, but you But dust in there. But how could dust even do anything to him? And so, we say it's not that we are talking about from the other night. You know, there's so many different forms of overdose that people. And ultimately, we will probably find out that this is some type of So, it doesn't You don't have to have grams. Micrograms. Especially for someone who is only 30 lbs. That's a huge amount. If we find that there's something If we find Correct. If we find any body, would you agree with me that he had it in his place? Okay. We're going to do all that. We're going to pull his blood and we're going to identify what substances are in his body. Okay? But I can tell you that he didn't just this morning. Based on how he looked, his body had already started to decompose. He'd been some time. The investigator questioned [music] Stephanie about where she obtained the substances, but her reluctance to share information raised even more suspicion. Do you want to give me some more information about Greg? Well, I don't I don't know him that well. How do you get a hold of him? I don't understand. I'm in a lot Here's the Here's the thing. Here's kind of what's going to change my opinion about you, okay? And I'm just going to be real honest, all right? Because I saw your daughter's broken heart when she saw her her deceased her grandson who had been [clears throat] for hours, okay? I saw your grandson who had been But you have found who is Box/HD? I I don't know who that is. And you called somebody named Box/HD. I don't know who that is. I don't know who that is. You called him four times yesterday between 7:40 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. I don't care about your What I care about is Charles's Charles is over at the coroner's office right now. >> What we did when I heard about the autopsy. Well, he's Right? >> Yes. He's Yes. He's in your apartment. Yes. Okay? So, we're going to sit in here and talk, I want you to be truthful about things, or walk out that door. Okay. I just looked at the phone. You text Box/HD as well. Mhm. To buy it. To what? To buy it. You're really starting to make me mad again. This door is always open. Like he's told you been doing a phenomenal job telling you that you can walk out here anytime. Goodbye with Box/HD. You're lying. Despite the horrifying fact that her grandson passed away because of her dangerous addiction, Stephanie stubbornly refused to betray her supplier, >> [music] >> but officers were determined to break down her defiance. >> You being dishonest is not going to get you anywhere. There is a child. Your grandbaby. But I love him. For God's sake. I prayed with your daughter over your grandson. Your grandson, and you're lying about buying drugs. Are you kidding me? Do you love your grandbabies? I love them. Do you? Then prove it, or walk out that door. You consistently lie. And then we have to confront you with what we know, and then you tell us that you're truthful about it. It doesn't matter. It doesn't with the baby. But I didn't with the baby. Did you portray not to get yourself in trouble, but we have to look at this. That is your grandson lying there on the couch. Look at that. >> No. Look at that. >> No. No. Because of your actions, and you're still sitting here trying to deflect the truth. No, I'm not I'm not lying. These lies are on No. The truth will come out in this room. Someone will be held responsible for this child. It's unacceptable. And what's hurting me the most is that you are unwilling to take accountability for what has happened. You have given a partial truth. I know. >> That's not okay. And here's the thing, that at the end of this, at the end of this, my partner and I, you, whatever you're done, we're going to walk out of this room, all right? And we're going to go back to our families. All right? Charles is over there alone in a bag. And tomorrow morning, my partner and I are going to come in here on Easter morning, Resurrection Day, and we're going to watch the examiners examine your grandchild's baby your grandchild's body. All right? I'm not worried about people getting in trouble and all this, all right? What I'm worried about is the truth, and actions have consequences. You know that. That's why you've been lying to us. >> No, I've been lying. I don't want to get nobody in trouble. What's more important to you?
