happens is because that's a federal

violation CES 56 back in late 2023 a man
was caught vaping on a commercial
airline flight a smoke detector went off
in the
lavatory it caused the plane to make an
emergency landing in Santa Fe New
Mexico police boarded the plane to
detain the

because that's a violation we all know
that you can't do that that can also put
everybody else that's in that plane in
Jeopardy when that happens as a lot goes
on Pilots getting ready to line the
plane next thing you know he has a smoke
alarm going off causes tons of confusion
and a lot of a lot of stuff happens
right so um again I there's a whole
process I have to notify the the Air
Marshals um they're out of Albuquerque
um I will explain the case to him I will
then go back talk to the pilot and
between their decision is whether or not
they want to charge you federally if
they if they decide yes that they do
want to prosecute you it is a federal
offense and you will be arrested for
it okay so I can't make that
determination until I get them on the
phone and talk to them and find out what
they want to do but you do know that
you're not supposed to do that correct
understand okay all right so that's
where we're at right now so just give me
a moment I got to make a couple phone

but they can actually have significant
ramifications on your travel patterns or

but all right good news and bad
news good news is you get a leave here
today bad news is they're probably going
to be sending you a find in the mail so
here's the issue that you caused so by
you vaping in the plane caused them to
deviate from their normal Landing
procedures do a different stuff and you
delayed an additional Flight 2 hours
which that flight now was delayed out of
Dallas 2 hours and you caused a ripple
effect for all those connecting flights
to be delayed 2 hours yeah cuz they had
do the maintenance on the smoke detector
now probably
so you know I I know you already know
and you learned your your lesson I feel
but it caused much more of a problem
than you think you know what I mean yeah
you affected yeah many many people
sense um I have your information I'll
give you a copy of the case number as
well uh so you have it um and then
somebody from the FBI will be contacting
you so my my suggestion Kyle cuz I deal
with this a lot believe it or not at my
time here at the airport um when they
call and talk to you uh don't deny it
because there's two witnesses both
flight attendants that saw you do it so
um just keep that in mind okay um I'm
telling you the same thing I'm telling
everybody else um just be honest because
these findes can be very very Steep and
Hefty if you make them do a lot more
than they have to you know what I
mean of course you can do what you wish
but in the future please don't smoke or
vape or do anything on an airplane that
you're not supposed to okay all right
