Professor sensing something was wrong contacted 911 after Sydney pretended to be her mother when he called back his fears were confirmed when officers arrived at the scene take her outside come on is being knocked you know having the wind knocked out of you but I didn't that's actually what it sounded like um and then several more repeated thuds I don't I don't know how to describe the sound no and that's okay and you could you and Mr Frasier could hear this from the other end of the phone from the other it was on speaker phone right yeah did you hear any communication during these thuds just the SC scaming um and this um and so we were both talking into the phone saying you know what's going some what's happening is are you okay what's can we do you need help what what's what's going on yeah can you describe your mindset at this time u i mean very definitely felt like someone was being attacked um and so uh we weren't getting an answer I think at some point I said if if you can't respond we're going to call the police if we don't hear a if can if no one can tell us what's going on even her friends and her roommate felt like something was however they didn't know that it would reach this stage did you notice any uh you know change in her mood was she talking about anything or um I could tell she was getting more upset like more sad and I told her like I'm here like you can tell tell me I'm here for you if you need anything I'm here but she never really opened up until she was leaving and then she was struggling to school and that Sheed she was trying to figure out what was going on and that's when I started to try to help her and then she then ultimately decided to leave which I thought be good for her just to get her mind off the rest of semester and then come back and actor or something and falling CL semester kind of hoping that would help her to her parents she was just having trouble in school they didn't think badly of it not to this point how long has you been acting funny just been a couple weeks I mean yeah maybe I mean I don't remember when she when she came home that first time kind of out of the blue but that was she said she was stressed out she told me that today she told me that today that she was [Music] overwhelmed is she on any medication NOP no has she ever tried I don't know I I didn't think she drank until the first time she drank and then I think she realized was that it was last year it was her freshman year and I'm sure she does I'm not going to be you know I'm not going to say she doesn't but I don't think it was ever a problem but I don't not an expert in that field has she ever had any psychological problems no always been you know shy and you know reserved and as was always the problem is you know she never says anything you know so well Brenda said she didn't realize she was having her period until Tamp she's my language so that's just the kind of person that she was it was all you know internal ized and yeah that's why I told her now I said you know nobody can help you if you don't tell what the problem is did you say anything else about the break in or anything like that just no just hysteric said there was a Breakin and there's blood everywhere and where's your mother and she just nothing shortly after the interview investigators revealed that Brenda did not survive her injuries Sydney claimed Insanity at imagine what you have been through I have received and read all of the letters that have been sent to me I have considered the evidence that was brought into evidence um at the trial the statements of council and all of the information that is before me at this time I do find that counts two and three merge with count one for purposes of sentencing in this matter based upon the facts and circumstances of this case and in consideration of the relevant sentencing factors including seriousness and recidivism and applying the minimum sanction that the court has determined will protect the public and punish the offender without imposing an unnecessary burden on State and local resources the court imposes the following sentence on count one ma'am I sentence you to an indefinite sentence of 15 years to life in the Ohio Department of Corrections on count four of the indictment I sentence you to three years in the Ohio Department of Corrections those two sentences to be run concurrent with and not consecutive to each other ma'am please understand that on count before of the indictment you may be subject to a period of Post Release Control upon your release and if you violate that post relase control the adult pral Authority is authorized to return you to prison for up to 9 months for any single violation and up to 50% of your prison sentence for all violations please also understand that if you're placed on post- Release Control and you are convicted of a new felony in addition to being punished for that new offense the judge could add an additional consecutive oneyear from her face right all of a sudden you just hear a boom I look and I see her faults in the ground next you you know she starts to ble so he sh her in the face with with the handgun yeah I think where where where were you guys when he with the handgun um we I think uh the kitchen you guys were inside the house when happen yeah it was revealed that the suspect had asked witnesses to lie for them and tried to manipulate the truth um at what point did uh did somebody start cleaning up blood oh um I think I really didn't see him do it all that much but um when I say something is it okay if I speak to IND tell him what he wanted you to help them do he wanted he asked help and carry her to the roadside so he could say it was a driveway when I forgot about that but um when like he was like over there when he said he was going himself he kept asking me or like and like uh if like to get her to the road to say like somebody drove by and her like a drive by there was a story of a vehicle driving by oh yeah he he made that story up whenever uh he her and took her outside when how what did he tell you about that he tried to make up the story that the driveby happened like right like next to that dumpster in front of his like on the road try to see a driveby happened right there and that her brother went to his house freaking out about it and they ended up dragging her over there receiving 911 calls from frantic parents who found their daughter unconscious inside their car Erica schulties discovered their daughter Parker left in a hot car in their driveway it turned out that her husband Christopher had left their daughter in the vehicle for more than an hour this was enough time to put her life in danger she was in the car sleeping she's unresponsive okay and who is she please please please my daughter my daughter please please please and this was that in the driveway yes is she still breathing no she's not breathing right now okay we need to start CPR right now yes we are we're CBR yes Christopher claims that he had left their daughter in the car with the AC on however the police weren't sure if this was true or not meanwhile his wife knew that it was just too doesn't bring it on her own we didn't have the pulse so we continueed the CPR and and in order to try to to to regain that uh I don't know what that's going to look like from this point okay as you know she's very she's very hot right now and we're going to do everything we can to to mitigate that so we got said I have some folks here are coming by they're with the fire department and they're going to help you walk through some of the things and I understand that your wife went with her correct okay so um you know and we have some other folks that are going be over there as well okay so uh along with the law enforcement and uh and our community Assistance uh people you know they'll they'll walk through some of the things get you ready to go uh down to the to the hospital okay do you hi she called like two whenever came in whatever she called for him didn't hear from him went upstairs didn't hear from him went his room unresponsive cold she puts him in the bathtub CU he's cold and then calls us he was less at 800 p.m. when he went to bed she's been up for a while uh dad left at 6:00 a.m. didn't check on him took the other son to work with him she went to go check on him a little bit ago before she called called for him he didn't she been gone all day no she's been here I'm sorry she's been here but he's just been in a bedroom or something yeah okay she called for him didn't hear anything so she went to go check on him went in the room he was unresponsive cold to touch so because he was cold she went bathtu the guy blue shirt on his coworker who came with Dad their other son lives here as well but Dad took the other son to work with him and he is still at work to my understanding I haven't confirmed that um Jake and I had a standby with them and uh dad's mom last year or and she went on vacation for a couple weeks the kids with them came back to get the kids it was some dispute of we you haven't been here blah has a report documented all that she's trying to tell me today that Grandma wanted nothing to do with the kids but that's not the case upon arrival officers observed that Navin was extremely malnourished at first everything seemed solvable but next case is possibly even more disturbing about a mother who called the cops and her own son due to his alarming behavior only for the situation to take a turn leaving him in a terrible predicament house right now well upstairs is my brand new renters which I really don't want to bother as much as I can not as possible um and so I was thinking I would go through the garage which is like the just go through I would go through the alley through the garage because their cars are like walking in or I can walk down the side I can park on the street I and where's the house it's just right up here right yeah up here on the right the big wood thing around it do that for my well let's go talk to them and we'll kind of go from there at this point the officers were already concerned for their safety but the real chaos hadn't even begun I think that it would be good if I went in first and so he doesn't expect like it's not like um do you think that's a good idea so at this point I need to worry about my safety and my partner safety so we kind of just have to do our thing at this point so do you what do you want me to do we're going to leave you out the go out and so we're just going to going here days after the incident the mother was interviewed visibly distraught about what had transpired following her call how could it have escalated in last than 5 minutes he was running away he was running away she doesn't have anything he's he's he threat he just gets mad and he starts uh yelling and screaming and trying he's a kid he's trying to get attention he's he doesn't know what how hospital for like a long long time in the end the mother was charged with child endangerment while her son remained in critical condition at the hospital it only gets worse with Dante Wright's mother who tragically learned the truth about what really happened to her son you I don't know I wasn't here why because he had a word are you serious I was here I watched it and then she go and then how many back the spe on the 11th of April 2021 police officers conducted a routine traffic stop on Dante R after a few moments Dante resisted arrest prompting the officers to take action however instead of apprehending him officer Potter accidentally discharged her weapon Dante drove off a short distance before colliding with another vehicle and hitting a concrete barrier eventually his mother learned about what had happened to her son heartbroken she continued to seek Justice for him after the officer's accidental discharge of their weapon you know it's 20 I don't know what's going on I tragically lost his life while officer Potter resigned from her position and now we turn to the family who received the heartbreaking news following a devastating hit and run incident I sorry to regr for she's pass away no man no man man come on I'm sorry please I need to know where my grandbaby at I need to know where my grandbaby is do not going to negotiate with me about my granddaughter you understand that you're not going to negotiate with me on January the 11th 20122 police officers responded to a disturbing hit and run scene where the female victim was left without help on the floor when the cops began to investigate they began to uncover several things go ahead sorry 23 I got Lanes two and three shut down shut down all North bom Lanes on Highway 100 as far soft as we can go is she awake are he awake we haven't tried I tried the police who found her I shut down all Northbound Lanes possible did you see what happened collecting witness statements for people around the crime scene police soon discovered something shocking and how unfortunate the young lady was I was with her we just got off the bus we on our way to work and I made it across the street okay let's up let's go over here okay cuz they need the [Applause] scene okay so what what all happened okay we getting off the bus from across the street I made it on a sidewalk already the cars was like back it's like when we go across the cars was just coming faster when they see they coming across the street I made it to the sidewalk and when I turned around and see what she behind me I just see the car hit her she was right here and she F from right here all the way down there okay and the car just kept going what kind what kind of car was it I didn't I wasn't able to see the car I just seen her going in the air who am I giving this report to all right I witnessed uh struck by a sedan FL in the rig we'll start breathing for in the rig no credit Paul she was pH face down we'll just pick her up I think found face down no yes I did this particular witness saw something very interesting what did you see ma'am so I was driving in the Middle Lane and there was a car in front of me and car the right lane driving faster um I saw a blackening where was she moving street from that way to this way from the Medan correct right where she was found uh no I didn't see her I saw the other girl that got oh the other girl yes I didn't know anyone I didn't see anybody else slam on their brakes I saw the B fly in the air I thought they just hit like garbage or something and then they just zoomed off and then I pulled over when I realized she was standing over her body like touched her yeah yeah we both felled for pulses okay was there a pulse I don't believe I saw got one I couldn't tell to okay is this your vehicle here uh mine is the inside one Dro this off at around like 6 620 I think about 620 do you remember do you remember um what BS you were on like the 28 the 28 number of the bus it should be com back this way okay so you guys got dropped off where exactly on the other side yeah and we just walking across the okay she got hit right here but she flew all the way down do you remember like where exactly the street was car that car right there so in the Middle Lane you think that's where she was okay when you first located her was she face down face up face down okay and then you just check for a pause so you couldn't find a pause okay where did you how where did you see it sorry are you call 106 so from County 45 minutes 1 hour he driving to work D okay and going to sprader I was yeah I work at a spine car and Highway under water home PL Road okay the witness painted a disturbing image of the accident but it got even worse and I was driving north uhuh and I saw two people I was going slower cuz this morning I saw two people run across the street I think I saw one cross and the other one I don't even know what kind of car it it you see her laying on the ground you check for Pauls there's no Pauls you come up here on the sidewalk and then the police arrive we I mean we got there they were on the phone with 911 um I think the people were taking a statement the responder wanted us to uh Flipper on our spot or on under her back check and then check Paul start CPR possible at that time that's before we started CPR at all officer started got you okay um and that's your car you guys can take off if you'd like so you saw a car hit a u somebody somebody yeah okay and they were crossing the street they were crossing this way they so they were coming from that side of coming from or that direction I kind of where that in front of the yeah okay yeah so I always go this direction to work uhhuh and I'm slower it's morning yeah that's I saw one make it across the street and I honestly didn't know there was another person till they flipped up in the air okay and the car hit up more witnesses gave their statements to the cops to help them understand what had happened all right so you guys started Crossing that those are the only cars you saw did it seem like there were a bunch one it so like a group of them okay I stop okay so you saw him coming you said you made it up onto the sidewalk yeah and when I turned around I see her like ah and she said ah the car just hit her okay so you saw her did you see her get hit or did you just hear it okay so you saw when you were up on the sidewalk M and you saw so you saw her get hit um that's when you turned around you saw her here yeah and I had CH when I seen her drop I had rain and Dr all my stuff and I was trying to see if she was moving or W or anything and when I didn't see that that lady I don't know she had left it was a short uh shorter [Music] lady okay and when I when I seen that she got the phone I went got her cousin told her that something wrong with her okay since the young lady was unconscious the officer's biggest problem was finding a way to get across to her relatives fortunately it didn't take long for some people to come up with some useful information so are you Uncle then also huh or so you are you own are you related to Miss Harris I'm I'm like I'm like an uncle like an uncle we own this but I'm like she been working here me me and her father's real best friends all right and you're the owner here sir yeah me and my wife here all right your last name sir she they're they're giving her medical attention right now I haven't I haven't talked with anyone I haven't had any contact with her so I can't I can't give you an update um what's your address okay so who did you get a phone call from okay is he here yeah he's here okay so he called you what did he tell you happened he just cried and just said that she was dead that's it and my wife came woke me up and I jumped up my cousin RAC out here okay do you know about how far dad he say he say he too far far okay however despite all the challenges that the cops had faced so far with the young lady the most challenging task for them was how to relate the new of her unfortunate passing to her loving parents when they approached her father he thought it was just a usual routine interaction with the cops and was unaware that he was about to receive the most heartbreaking news any parent would ever want to hear what what's your name sir my name is Don can you come on with sir okay what's your daughter's name my daughter is in the ambulance okay what's her sir we just have to confirm her information uh Denisha haris man okay what's her birthday she uh um 531 5 531 okay all right well I'm sure uncle gave you run down and everything uncle notifi or owner notified you of everything so she's in the back of the ambulance right now and I I sorry to for me she's fast away no man no man man come on please please no no come on man it's wrong man come on they working on her they oh my God oh my God so sir at this point we're still trying to investigate how this incident occurred um what time does she live with you currently no she lives with her mom do you know what time she usually leaves her work got to be she the first sh you got to be be like 6 okay right about cuz she got to be here at 7 she be here at 6:30 6:30 okay so if her mother bring her to work she probably leave prob about 6:00 yeah but tell she took the bus her mother Dro off at the bus side so they made it here she say they made at 60 622 she heard her yelling the car hit her just kep going um and then you heard about this from him is that correct okay things got even more emotional when another member of the family showed up on the scene I need to know where my grandbaby at I need to know where my grandbaby is got to where's my daughter it's not good time right now we will arue but you can't I know where my people I need know now sir this is an active crime scat we can't have you Crossing okay who who are you here to get in contact with my grandbaby just got hit I need to my daughter just called me I need to know where is my grandbaby like I said we we're willing to speak with you but we can't have you park in your vehicle right here right now well you can't right here unfortunately so you more worried about this mother truck I don't want another accident okay unfortunately I need to tell me where is my grand bab I'll explain that to you I need to know where is my granddaughter if you parents who couldn't believe that their beloved daughter had just passed it felt like a nightmare for them only this time this nightmare was real and they would never see their beautiful daughter again all these mother lights out here it doesn't matter they going to stop you want me to call you want me to call your phone I don't give a call them I give you the number don't carry up I'll you going tell me where my granddaughter at where's my granddaughter where is the mother hit get the out of here oh don't tell me that [ __ ] don't tell me that bull no don't you son of a oh you son of a I can you that y'all better get mother y'all will be out you mother later that night the officer was tracked down and arrested the suspected driver of the hit-and Run vehicle he claimed that he did not know that he had hit a person and he did not stop because he was carrying a significant amount of money and did not want to be questioned in the end he was charged with a hidden run involving a fatality and was later sentenced to 8 years in prison
