We're going to go get out of this area, so if you'll just pull your legs in, we'll just move spots and let you get some air in a minute. All right, man, I'm just going to read you your Miranda rights, all right? I'm going to ask you a couple questions, just hang tight. Thank you for not taking off on me and running from me being You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney. News of the traffic stop [music] traveled fast, drawing in crowds of bystanders and even key officials. The added attention only cranked up the tension at an already volatile scene. Commissioner Taylor, how are you? I'm okay, how are you? I'm not too good. I'm headed to a a county commission meeting downtown and I get called that some teens have been pulled over. Mhm. So here I am. Okay. Well, uh I don't know the original reason for the traffic stop, but officers stopped these cars and uh what I know is at least one of the guys ran and we're trying to sort out what's going on right now, so they're working through that and then uh if they have criminal charges, you know, we'll handle that and if not, then they'll be cutting them loose. Um but they're working through that right now. We can get you more answers at some point once I've talked to them a little bit, but I'm letting them work their scene and I just happened to be in the area when um all of it happened, so I Okay. Sure, but I appreciate you stopping by and yeah, we'll get you some answers if you are curious as to what happened when we can. Sometimes it does take us you know, we got to sort out exactly what's going on and I know there were some guns involved and and stuff, so we're working through that right now. Can I help you with anything else at the moment or any other que- I'll try to answer questions if I can, I just don't have all the answers, I don't want to give you ina- inaccurate information. All right. Um but as I tend to do, I'm going to let them work their scene and you know, they know what they're doing and they're going to work through it just like we normally would. Go from there, they'll write their report and document everything. They'll be done out of here. Okay. Y'all have anything important on the agenda tonight? >> We have a lot. A lot on the agenda. Long night tonight. Okay. I I just, you know, I just have to be be mindful because I have residents who feel like they've been pulled over for for no reason, you know. Mhm. We'll see, but if you want to send a follow-up question or something like that or two, then you know, we're happy to get back to you once I've got some more information, but some- it just does- it takes us sometimes a little bit for me to get everything from them once they sorted it out. But I'm happy to do that. All right. And uh good luck in the meeting tonight, hope it's not too late. You're welcome. First, do you want to talk with us? Let us know. All right. You're not going to jail for that, okay? Can you uh cuff me in front so I can see if more comfortable? >> No. Okay. All right, I was just asking, that's all. All right. Can't cuff you, you're not meant to be comfortable. Actually, step out, let me get this. Can't have this on your person, you know what I mean? Hey, what's going what's going what's happening with my car? It's going to get towed. It's going to get towed? Yeah. Okay. Well, here, step out of the car, let me search you. Hm? Step out of the car, let me search you. Sorry, I thought you were searched. I got the papers in my pocket. Okay. You got what in your pocket? Papers, no tickets. Of course, these tickets are next to mine. Anything? Okay. Let me see your state ID. Nah, you ain't I ain't got nothing on y'all, good. Um take your necklaces off. I don't want to lose these, man. 468 Yeah. You good with him? Huh? Do you have any questions? For him? No. I talked to him for a second, I'm just taking him out of the Hey, you you can't you can't you can't lose my [ __ ] right now. He's going to lose his thing. Can I go in the back of the jail with you, okay? All right. Um is he good to come out of the cuffs? Um I just I just wanted to question him real quickly, too. Okay, he hasn't been Mirandized, of course. Okay. All right, sir, so you have the right to remain silent, anything you say can be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney. You can answer any questions without an attorney present. All right, so you don't want to speak with us? Hey man, you want to talk to me? I'm going to take you out of cuffs. I'm sorry, I don't know all the names cuz there's four of them. Um but the other kid, um he's already been transported to the jail. He was only charged with obstruction. He was the um the charge was the person who was driving. Okay, so he only getting charged with He's charged with I believe possession of firearm during commission of a crime, but I will double check on that. I'm sorry. Yes, I'll check for sure. But even with all the chaos these kids had already caused, one of them still had the nerve to stage a protest, something only a delusional mind could dream up. I was going to give you a case card with the case number on it so that you would have it so that you it's easier for you to come pick up your firearm. Well, why he got to take it for? That's what I want to know, he ain't tell me. on that. Okay, but seems fair though. You were frustrated and you said, "I don't even want to talk to them." I don't mind talking to you till I'm blue in the face, okay? Here's the issue. You got several people in a vehicle, several firearms. But they all registered. Right. But the only way for us to get that information is to run an eTrace on it. So that's all that's going to happen. Is that an eTrace will be run to find out >> for what? You're not going to court. So what we doing for real? So that's your case number. Where's the other guy? He old. Okay, can you give him that card? Okay. So um when the eTrace is done and they are ready to release it to you, they will call you. Did you give us a phone number for you? All right. Do you mind if I get it from you? Okay. So they'll call you and you just come pick it up. That's basically all it is. It's just to verify that it's yours. I'm not trying to call you a liar, but you know, anyone could say, "Yep, that's mine." because we don't have a database to be able to look at it like [music] we do like driver's license and tags. So what was your first name? This is phone number Nope, you're good. Thank you. Thank you for cooperating. In the end, the driver was booked for having a gun while committing or attempting certain felonies, along with possession of with intent to distribute. The one who ran from the police got booked for having a pistol underage and for obstructing law enforcement. While that was a close call, it seemed like a warm-up exercise compared to this encounter where a driver decided to pull his firearm and gamble on a fastest trigger finger with the cops. Got your vehicle listed as a as the vehicle involved in an accident. They got video footage and everything, buddy. I'm not going to debate about it with you, okay? What we're going to do is we're going to put you in handcuffs, we're going to put you in the back seat, we're going to move your car over there with the other two cars. Houston police answered a call about a crash on the North Freeway near the 10300 block. Three cars were involved, but only two stuck around. The third driver hit the gas and took off. Officers later found that car, and that was when the whole situation went south. Were you involved in an accident at What? Where were you involved? Got your vehicle listed as a as the vehicle involved in an accident. They got video footage and everything, buddy. I'm not here to debate about it. You said what? So, which one? Okay. While the cops were just trying to calm things down and sort out the mess, the driver had a whole different plan, and it sure didn't involve giving up. So, what was your intention? You didn't want to provide any information. You know it's illegal to do that, right? What did you hit? I'm not going to debate about it with you, okay? What we're going to do is we're going to put you in handcuffs, we're going to put you in the back seat, we're going to move your car over there with the other two cars. Hey, roll me roll me HFD. I got a male not conscious, not breathing, multiple wounds to his abdomen. We're in a park at the Chinese the China border parking lot to vacant park parking lot. We're going to need guys We got the weapon secured. Unfortunately, the suspect passed on at the scene. Ones that guaranteed he didn't ride back with the cops in the back of their squad car. Bobby, you doing okay? We got a hospital coming to you. Ambulance coming to check out, all right? They're going to be the ones to take out the probes, okay? I want to add a second set of cuffs. We're going to lay him down. >> Sure. On there. So, let's do that, please. Got you. Not an admission of guilt, just stating that you show up on or before the court date, okay? I don't have to as long as it's paid for. Stop. Stop. Stop. Even with an injury, [snorts] the officer tried to calm the chaos caused by the obviously insane man while waiting for backup. But then he began to say very strange things that made the officer wary.
