I was not driving at all. I swear to God. I swear. >> You do not need to come at me with an attitude because I was not driving and you don't need to assumpt because I wasn't driving. >> So you >> sometimes a few dumb drunk drivers try to slip through the cracks by cooking up a slick alibi to try and fool the cops. For some of them, when they run into nononsense cops who don't mess around, they think that they can just sweet talk and outsmart them. >> I've been raised by lawyers and I know that I'm not drunk. So, I just want to ask why I have to do more. I just wanted to ask because I know my rights as well. So, I wanted to ask because I know my rights. >> I just did your test. How are you arresting me? I just did your test. >> Here are moments when drunk drivers think that they can outsmart nononsense cops. The first case takes us to Tacoma, Washington, where 23-year-old Colona, who had no pants on, thought she could play the victim card and sweet talk her way out of a DUI. >> I don't know who you was. >> You You So, you weren't just sitting in the driver's seat. >> No, that's weird. You know what's crazy is my camera's wrong. >> You want to know what's crazy is you're lying because everything that happened before that you're lying. >> Oh, >> have to go to alcohol, but I don't want this. >> She said she's >> My boyfriend is literally a piece of [ __ ] I don't want to be a Wait, wait, hear me out. He beats me. I need to put pants on. This is really embarrassing. I need to put pants on. >> On July the 17th, 2025, Washington deputies got a call from a local park about a drunken brawl. An intoxicated woman had reportedly gotten into a fist fight with two other women before fleeing the scene in her silver Hyundai. It didn't take long for deputies to catch her trail, and soon enough, they found the car nose first into a wooden fence like it had run out of luck mid-flight. The officers approached ready to make her face the music. Or so they thought. >> I'm sorry. I have really bad anxiety. I don't know where I'm at. I have literally like I don't know where I'm at. >> You don't know where you're at? >> No, I have really bad anxiety. I came here to hang out with a guy in Tacoma and I can't I don't know where I'm at and I like have really bad anxiety. >> Okay. >> I have really bad anxiety and I have a panic attack. >> Okay. I don't. >> No, because it's really bad and nobody is listening to me. >> No, I got you. I'm just like, >> "Yeah, your driver's license is underneath." >> And then, do you have insurance on the car? >> I don't right now. I'm literally like stressing. I don't even know what's going on. Like, I literally >> Well, you were in a collision. >> You You hit someone's fence. >> Charles, >> do you have the registration in the car? >> What happened at the waterfront park? You had other people in the >> I got into fight. I left. >> You got >> I got into a fist fight. I left. >> Why were you fist fighting? >> Because they fist bought me and set me up. My baby dies crazy. >> Okay, I got >> No, my baby dies. >> Okay, I'm I hear you. >> No. >> Do you want to keep looking for the registration? >> No, because >> Okay. >> No. Crazy. Where does baby off? Like what is my baby daddy telling me? >> I have not talked to your baby daddy. I'm >> telling me everything. I don't believe that. >> Okay. So, you don't have insurance on the car, though? >> What? Are you going to arrest me? >> No, I don't know yet. >> Well, I don't have my baby daddy. So, no, I don't have arrest on my car. I just want to go home. >> Okay. Well, that's not an option right now. I can't understand you when you're crying. >> I haven't said anything. They're out my window. They're being rude. I haven't said a word. >> Who? The cop. I haven't said a word to them. I haven't said a word to the cops. They're being >> because you're probably drunk. >> No, because why are you like >> No. >> Okay, you're taking the side off. >> One thing you don't need. >> Do you have shoes? >> Do you want me to take my shoes off? You don't You're not wearing any shoes. >> Is there a problem? >> I'm asking if you have shoes. >> Do you want me to take my shoes off? >> You're not wearing any shoes. >> What are you going to call problems? >> No, I just want to ask if you want to have shoes cuz I'm going to have you step out and talk to me. >> Talk to you. >> Yeah, >> I try to talk to you. >> Give me a minute. I'll wait till I get a second. >> I try to talk to you in jail. >> What's that? >> Why wouldn't I talk to you? >> Why? >> Why would I talk to you when you literally arrest me? >> I haven't tried to do anything. I want to make sure you're okay to drive. >> Operating a motor vehicle, actually. >> Well, you got here somehow, right? >> I don't know who it was. >> You you So, you weren't just sitting in the driver's seat. >> At first, the deputy gave her the benefit of the doubt, even after hearing eyewitness accounts that painted her guilt in bold strokes. But she chose to act smart, and when he least expected it, she made the most ridiculous request. >> No, that's weird. You know what's crazy is my camera's rolling. >> You want to know what's crazy is you're lying because everything that happened before that you're lying. >> Oh, okay. That's perfect. Okay. You want to go ahead and step out of the vehicle for me? >> Are you kidding? >> No, I'm not kidding. Get the sun. I'm trying to pamp myself. She didn't argue about this anymore. Where can I urinate? Sorry, but where can >> I have toate really badly? Where can I go in this way? Um, nowhere around here. Can I go in like like right here? If you turn around for two seconds, I have to go. >> We're in public. Oh, you have to go to the bathroom. >> Yeah, but we're in public. >> Okay. Well, can you ask it if we can like fix the public city? Cuz I have to go to the bathroom very badly. >> So, you want me to fix the public city so you can urinate in public? >> No, I don't want you to fix my son's public so I can go to the bathroom. >> Okay. >> But can I use a bathroom in like a good way to where I can the bathroom, please? >> I have to urinate. I'm trying not to borrow. in a nice way. >> Yeah. No, we're not we're not going to go urinate in public. >> Yeah. That's why I'm asking if I can go in a possible way cuz I really >> like really bad. >> Like it's going to urinate over here. Like I need them to like I don't even care what they say. I need to go. >> Well, we're going to wait for my second unit to get here. >> I can't wait. Can I just go? Are you going to press the charge on me if I go? >> I >> I really have to go. Meanwhile, the deputies were still trying all they could to get her to be more cooperative, but she was mistaking their calm demeanor for weakness. A costly mistake. >> We believe that you were under the influence of alcohol and are not safe to drive whether you participate in field sobriety testing or not. >> My mom, >> we'll talk about that after. >> I need my mom. >> Okay. You gota be >> I'm I'm charging you guys with uh >> unlawful lawsuit. >> I like spit. >> While he was busy throwing a fit in the back of the police car, the officers had just one more important task to carry out before hauling him off to the station. >> Hey, do you by chance know Michaela's number for the for the car? >> No, I don't have my number. >> Oh, he knows what it is, though. >> Good with him. >> Yeah. No warrant or anything. Tyler is his her boyfriend. >> Go ahead. Step on out, boss. >> Unless you want to go to jail. They unlawfully put their hands on me on my dad's grave. >> You little ass dude. I'm going to knock you in your mouth when you let me out. >> Tough guy. Tough guy. You're going to need help. You're going to need help. Banging on the door of the patrol car seemed like the only way he could blow off some steam. As the reality of what was about to hit him slowly began to sink in. When one of the officers finally decided to lend him an ear, he knew that this was the moment that he had been waiting for, the make or break point. >> Come on, little. >> I need the captain. Where's the captain? Where's the captain? >> Come on. Y'all better be trial ready cuz I'm taking this to trial. I didn't drive no car. >> Well, you said, "Hey, I thought you were talking to me." >> I I need to talk to somebody. >> Okay. Well, I'm Officer Howard. You can talk to me. Before we talk, though, you're in the back of a car. You're in handcuffs. I just want to make sure everything's covered. Okay. >> Yep. You have the right to remain silent, too many statements, choose to answer questions, or make anybody stop at any time. Do you understand? >> Yes. You want >> Is it right that you guys busted my nose open? >> You want to talk to me? >> Is it right that you punched me in my mouth? >> No. >> You said we busted. >> Why you pointing busted? Cuz you said we busted your nose. I'm >> You did. >> I'm taking a look at it. >> All right. >> You mean I didn't drive nothing. >> Okay. >> All right. This is my black homeboy driving my >> Who was in the car with you? >> Baby mom's car. >> Tyler, who was in the car with you then? >> Shiron's >> Who was driving? >> Shiron. >> Chiron driving. >> Shiron. They're like, "Let me drive your mom's car." I'm like, "All right. >> All right." >> They said, "Well, I got a license. I got a license." They seen you guys get behind them and they jump out the car. How many people were in the car with you? >> Six. >> Six people were in the car with you. >> Me, Sherro, Josh. >> When? >> Five. >> When the officer >> Yes. >> started a traffic stop. >> Let us up. >> Yep. There were six people in the car. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Me, Shar, Lorn, Josh. >> Okay. >> Josh was in the passenger seat. I was in the middle of the two car seats. >> Okay. Where was everybody? Luan was in the middle seat. Shab was driving. >> It's awfully crowded in there then. >> Yeah. >> Um, >> so did you know that it was a officer behind you? >> Yeah. I told him to pull over. It's my baby mom's car. >> It's your baby mama's car? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> I pulled the over, dude. >> Okay. Where were you guys coming from? >> My house. >> Your house. So, where did this guy stop you at? >> Josh was driving. >> Okay. He picked up Lacoan and Sherrod and went on from there. >> What do you mean it went on from there? Where'd you go after that? >> Seat. Josh was in the passenger seat. Laquan was next to me. Shal was driving. >> Okay. Where'd you guys go after Harding? >> We were heading back here to my house. >> Okay. This guy said he saw you off-roading over by Birdland. >> No. >> No. >> No. >> No. So, where were you guys before the traffic stopped? >> Shra was passing us behind a bottle of Hennessy. >> Okay. >> And that was it. And then I seen you guys light us up. I was like, "Pull the over." Throw him my baby mom's car. >> Sure. >> And that's what happened. And he's like, "Stay in the back seat. Stay in the back seat." He got out and he ran. >> When did he run? Shortly before the first car got behind us. >> Okay. So, where were you guys at when he ran? >> The first car was at least 15 20 ft behind us. >> What do you mean the first car? >> When he jumped out and he rolled. >> Which which first car? First police car. First >> first police car. >> So, I'm a little confused because when you say the first car got behind you, were you guys parked? Were you driving? What was going on? driving. >> He was driving. >> He was driving. >> And then so he ducks out. >> He seen the car, the cop car, turned his lights on, and he's like, "We're running from the cops. We're running from the cops." >> And I'm sorry. >> And he jumped out right by Berlin Middle School, right down the street. >> Okay. >> So Josh got in the driver's seat. >> Okay. directed you guys to a complete stop. >> Okay. >> And that's where we are now. >> For reasons best known to him, he fancied himself clever enough to pull the wool over the cop's eyes with his tangled web of lies. The officer couldn't yet tell where truth ended and fiction began. But something about his story just didn't sit right. >> I never drove anything. I never drained anybody. >> Okay. The bottle of Hennessy. So you have you been drinking tonight then? >> Yeah, I have. But >> how much Hennessy? >> Well, you just said that they were passing a bottle of Hennessy around. >> They weren't. But when I was drinking, it was at work. DZ. >> Okay. >> I work at DZ. >> So, you were drinking at work? >> Yeah. >> Like orange on our second break. Yes, I was. >> Okay. >> When they were drinking and driving, like I didn't know not to tell them to stop. Like they'll beat me up. Okay. >> Like, who am I to tell him to stop? Just like knock my teeth down my throat. I'm sure my baby mom that I got two kids with is devastated with me. I wasn't even driving because nobody went to go look for them. You guys just pinpointed me. >> So Josh was in the driver's seat. >> Josh was in the passenger seat. >> Okay. Maguana Chevron tag turns in the driver's seat. >> You when you guys stopped here, how many people were in the car? >> One, two, three, four, four. >> Four. >> Shan got out of the front seat. >> Okay. >> Ran. I was in the back seat. >> Okay. >> Josh was in the passenger seat. >> Okay. >> Josh got out by the officers. I was in the middle of the car seats in the back. >> So, you guys came to a stop here and then Chiron and Laquan took off running. >> They already They already took off when we hit the corner. >> Okay. >> Uh Josh was the one that corrected the car to his. >> Okay. >> How did he stop the Okay. How did he stop the car then? >> He put his hands on the wheel. >> Okay. >> He was in the passenger seat. The corn was driving. >> So right now, should the car be in drive or park? >> Drive. >> Okay, let me go check. Did you put it in park? Did anybody put park? >> Huh? No, it's in park. >> Somebody had to put it there. >> Yeah. when they stopped you here. Yes. There were >> there were two guys who bailed out of that car and nobody and nobody chased them. >> It was before we hit this line. >> You said okay. You give you told me like three different times that these people have bailed out. You said once it was down at Birdland, then you said it was on the corner. Then you said it was here. >> Right before we hit this corner, Josh controlled the wheel, stopped it so your officers can pull us over. I got out of the back seat. He was already pulled out of the front seat. >> So, two guys bailed out of a car at around like 50 mph scales. >> It wasn't 30 50 m an hour. >> How fast was it? >> It was right when we were pulling up this street. >> No. No. How fast were you going? >> I paid $30,000 for that Jeep. It >> That's not what I asked me off when like I seen that. >> I It's not what I asked you though. How fast do you think the car was going? >> Probably 30. >> 30. >> 25 30. Yeah. >> Okay. All right. being arrested. >> Well, right now it sounds like you're under arrest for alooting. >> Alooting? I didn't even do nothing. >> Okay. Like I said, I got a bunch of different stories. You're telling me that these two guys who are driving the car together bailed out at three different points during this. And then then at no point did any of the officers on the radio say, "Hey, guys have bailed from the car." and then stop here and supposedly Josh pulls the car over and stops it >> over and stop peacefully. >> I think you're very drunk right now. >> Now you're definitely a very intoxicated. >> I I didn't drive no car. I didn't run from no cops. I learned my lesson my first time. >> Okay. >> Why am I out here to hurt anybody or >> Because the officers have identified you as the driver. >> How? What do you mean how? >> When I was in the back seat, >> they said they saw you crawling from the front seat into the back seat. >> How? >> What do you mean how? With their eyes. >> I never did none of that. >> Okay. As the officer kept on probing him, the loopholes in his narrative were becoming too glaring. But being a so-called smart drunk driver, he wasn't about to give in yet. And what the officer never saw coming was the extent he would go to try and cover up his crime. >> I know better. But then you're telling you're also telling me that license back in October. Why would the >> Why would I do any of that? >> You're also telling me that there are two other guys in the car. Do you want >> I have no license. I did my [ __ ] back in October. I gave my GED back in October. >> Okay. >> Why am I being accused of I know better. I learned my consequence the first time. >> Okay. >> I ran from you guys. Told my car out. Got out the car and ran. Got bit by a canine. I learned my lesson. >> How long you known Josh? >> I'd say uh I'm not graduated before. >> Yeah. Is he a good friend? >> No. He's pointing the finger at you. He's saying you're the one driving. >> How? >> Well, he was in he was in the passenger seat. >> He was the one that converted the car when the kids got out. >> Okay. >> Sh. >> We're We're going to move past that. Okay. So right now they got the eluding charge on you >> because we have reason to believe that you were driving. >> Okay, that's your statement. That's fine. If you want to stick in the back seat because I seen you guys drawing >> I want you Okay, so when I >> You would have stopped. >> Here's the thing, >> dude. I learned my lesson the first time. Why are you guys trying to >> Tyler? When I showed up on scene, you were kicking this thing, making the whole car shake. Your shoe is pissed off. I get that pissed off. What I'm concerned about is when we go down to the station and I decide and we do fields like you say you want to do. >> Let's do it. >> Okay. I don't want to have you fight me because then that's a whole other rack of charges. >> Why am I being charged for something I didn't do? >> That's a question that you can talk to the courts about. >> I think but right now >> you're going to put me in in jail. >> Right now you're being charged with the looting. Yes. Are you going to be cool if we go down to the station and you do fields? >> Yes. >> All right. Cool. >> Cuz I'm not getting charged for something I didn't do. >> You're getting charged period regardless. Why? >> Because we have reason to believe this. I'm not going to go over this, Tyler. >> How? >> Tyler, I'm not going to go over this again with you. >> Okay. >> I need Paul Bazard. >> I don't know. I don't know who Paul >> I talked to on KCCI. >> You mean Paulic? >> Yeah. I need him. >> Okay. We're going to go down to the station. >> No, cuz I'm suing you guys. >> That's fine. You're welcome to do that. >> We're going to go down to the station >> because your officers can't find the route to the problem. >> How is that my fault? unlocked cuz you're want to roll that up. Take a few of it. All right, >> officer. >> I'm going to unlock the door. We're going to pull that shoe out so we can roll the window up and go down to the station. Okay. >> I'd appreciate it if you didn't kick at anybody or spit at anybody cuz I've been cool with you. The last thing I want to do is have you ride around with wind just smashing into your face. What's up? Can I talk to Josh? >> Josh is gone. >> Where are you going? >> I don't know. >> I don't know. >> Home. >> Huh? >> After he was more of a consent than me. >> I don't know. >> No. Keep your foot in. >> Stop, man. >> If you don't put that foot inside, we're going to have problems. >> Why are you guys causing problems with me? >> Put your foot in. >> Why are you guys causing problems to me? >> Come on, tough guys. Why are you guys causing problems to me? And it's on your body camera. Woohoo. Come on, tough guy. >> Cool. You got a Tough guy. Come on. Let's be serious now. You guys are charging me with some [ __ ] I can't do. What are you doing? Showing on your camera, tough guy. >> Show on your camera, tough guy. 21272. >> What are you doing? Paul Bark, >> fix your hand. >> Come on. Oh, he can't do it. At this point, they could have easily driven him straight to jail, but there was one more thing to do. >> I'm going to take that as him not being cooperative. >> Field, >> I want both of you. >> He's got a strong odor. >> Coming from >> I'm shooting you, Tyler. I'm suing you, dude. You guys already >> The way you just acted charged me of some hurt. >> I'm suing you guys. >> Tyler, the way you just dad's grave. I'm >> I'm not comfortable doing field sobriety test. >> Why? >> Because >> you said I was already going to jail regardless. >> All right. >> You guys didn't even [ __ ] capture the right investigation. >> Tyler, do you want to take a PVT? >> Yes, I do. >> You do? All right. >> All right. >> Yeah. You ready? You ready to blow? No, >> you're not going to blow. >> I'm not blowing for >> All right. So, you're refusing? >> Yeah, I'm >> refusing PBT. All right. >> My attorney is going to refuse you cuz you guys put your hands on me like I was doing something wrong. >> I was trying to >> I was in the car, >> right? >> You guys put your hands on me when I was in the car. >> I was trying to pull the shoe out. >> No. No. >> And then you put your foot on the door and we tried to close it and then we had to wrestle with you to get it in. Do you not remember any of that? Yes, I do. Can you not replay your guys' cameras and see the kids get out the barn? >> Well, I don't need to replay the camera for you trying to keep the door open when we told you to let >> because I'm being unlawfully charged. >> Okay. Well, that's here's not the place to argue it, man. What >> the you mean? >> Okay. I got things I'm going to read to you. I'll be right back. >> I will show up to court. Get paid to be there. I have something to read to You guys are unlawfully charging me of some. >> The implied consent law requires that a peace officer advise the person the following refusal to submit to the withdrawal of a body or a combination of alcohol. Another constitutes foral and the above mentioned revocation periods apply. >> Your license will be revoked for 60 days if you have no previous revocation under Iowa code chapter 321J with controlled substance or a combination of substance where >> disqualifications. If you didn't shout over me and you listened to what I was reading, you'd know what I explained to you. >> No, you guys. >> Give me a second. I got some paperwork to fill out. Now, I have another question for you. >> Tyler. >> Yes. >> Having read you the appropriate implied consent advisory, I'm requesting a sample of your breath for chemical testing >> to determine the alcohol drug content. You're refusing. >> Oh, just got in on camera. I do see me get out the backseat of the car before I spit on you. If you spit on me, that'll be an on PO charge and shall remain revoked until you post proof of financial responsibility as required by Iowa code chapter 321 to the department. You're ordered to send or deliver all your PL for revocation of 321J.2A privilege. >> Uh, your badge number got this punk dude's badge number on it. What is it? >> 5241. Okay. >> I didn't drive no car. >> That's your statement, man. All right. Why? Why can't you guys find the bucker? >> Why can't you find the dudes that were driving it in driving while we're >> I can't even take you to their house? >> Careless driving for the off-roading that you did. >> All right, we didn't say reckless. >> Reckless, too. >> Um, interference. >> Interference for what? >> Inter. After being transported to the county jail, he was booked for interference with official acts, polluting, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, and driving under the influence. Unlike most drunk drivers who rely on cheap tricks to pull a fast one on the cops, this woman believed that she knew the law like the back of her hand and that she could twist it to wrigle her way out of a DUI mess. >> How much did you have to drink? >> Um, I had one drink at McDon's. I'm sorry. I I've been raised by lawyers and I know that I'm not drunk. So, I just want to ask why I have to do more. >> One drink is not legal though, is it? >> I know it's not. >> I've checked. I've checked. >> At this time, I'm placing you on the rest of the UI. >> What? >> On November the 13th, 2023, an officer on patrol pulled over a car clocked at a blazing 120 mph. At first, he chalked it up to a reckless driver in a rush who had temporarily thrown traffic rules out of the window and figured that he'd write a ticket and let her off with a warning. But as she rolled to a stop, he observed that she had bounced off a wall and it dawned on him that it was no ordinary speeding case. >> Probably at least 120 praise pacing and swerving like uh just going in and out of cars in and out of cars into cars. So then when as soon as I lit I didn't think she I didn't know she was going to stop but I lit her up and then she pulled over but she like bounced off this here. So uh she said she's coming from Soho. >> I got red glossy eyes. She said she hasn't been drinking but uh I think something spilled. It smells like al maybe something that she Yeah like spilled. Uh I got her keys but I got red glossy eyes. She swears she hasn't been drinking but there's a aggressive dog in the back. While the officer was still narrating what had happened to the other officers, one of them went over to interrogate her again and probably gather evidence to try and back up her claims. >> I need to talk to you. You mind stepping out of your vehicle so we can talk about >> Yeah. He was blocking. >> He was barking. >> Turbo. Over here. I'm here because of the reason behind the stop aggressive driving and when you pulled over the house you bounce off the uh the wall right there. >> Okay. >> How much did you have to drink? >> Um I had one drink at McDon's. >> Okay. >> I had a rum diet. >> Okay. Nothing nothing else. >> I had one rum diet. >> Nothing when you were at Soho Saloon? >> No. >> Okay. So, would you be willing to do some pills while you exercise? Sure. >> Okay. What I'm going to do, you can stand right here and face me for now and turn and face me. All right. What you'll be doing, stand with both feet together, heel to heel, toe to toe like I'm doing. >> Okay? >> You just keep your hands down nice and side the way you're doing right now. You see my pen light? I'd like for you to follow this light with your eyes only. I'm going to move it side to side. As I'm doing that, just keep staring at it without turning your head. You understand? My dog is very scared of sounds. >> Is he still in the I just want to make sure he's still good. Okay. >> Yeah. You You look like you laying down. >> Have you do a couple additional exercises? All right. >> Yes, sir. >> You mind stepping back to my car back there real >> Can I ask why I have to do more? I'm sorry. I I've been raised by lawyers and I know that I'm not drunk, so I just want to ask why I have to do more. >> The moment she started talking, he knew exactly who he was dealing with. one of those entitled types who thought a silver spoon and lawyer appearance could grease her way out of trouble even when the evidence screamed otherwise. >> The reason for the stop was you're going approximately 120 mph in addition to which you're driving aggressively. So and when you came to a stop you hit the uh the barrier here. So now I want to be able to continue with my investigation by asking you to do some additional field sobriety exercises. What am I doing? >> I'm one drink is not legal though, is it? >> I know it's not. I've checked. I've checked. >> What I'm doing is giving you the opportunity to dispel my fears that you're >> in. Yes, of course. >> And if you were to perform those field sobriety exercises, what I'd be doing is collecting evidence, >> of course, >> for my investigation. >> Okay. >> That evidence is going to help me determine whether or not you you are indeed in care. >> And if that were to be the case, I would at that particular point in time, I feel like the evidence I needed to arrest you for you are. >> I understand. I understand. I just wanted to ask because I know my rights as well. So I wanted to ask because I know my rights. >> So that's why that's why I've just explained them to you. >> Understand? >> So having that information available to you, that's something you'd be willing to do those additional exercises would be a walk and turn exercise and a one leg extend exercise. Are you willing to do those things? >> Is that how I can is that how I >> Well, as I stated, >> yes, yes, I will do those exercises. Okay, >> let's just walk around the side of the the uh vehicle and we'll go up to the other car. You'll see that car right there. >> Can I say something? Um >> Okay, we can stop right here. All right, man. You're placing on your back right now for me. All right. At this time, I'm placing you on the arrest of DUI. >> What? >> You're going to be arrested for DUI. >> Why? >> Because well, I'm going to tell you now. You demonstrated indicators of impairment doing the field sobriety exercises as I told you. >> I just did it. >> Yes, you did. However, doing them and doing them how you're supposed to do them without demon exhibiting multiple indicators of impairment, two different things. >> My I >> All right. So, >> I just did them. I don't understand what the you're talking about. >> Maybe one of the reason why you don't understand is because you're in fear. All right. Would you be willing to take the broadcast? No, >> listen. I just did your test. So, how are you arresting me? I just did your test. >> Well, because you're impaired. I'm arresting you because I believe you're impaired. >> In the middle of all the chaos, she dropped a question that hit like a bolt from the blue, leaving everyone around as stunned as a deer caught in the headlights. >> Where's my dog? >> Your friends are over here. Come on. >> Where's my dog going? >> Can your mom come get the dog? No, your friends just pulled up. The car that you're racing. >> Where's my friend? >> Your friends, the one the blue Mustang that you're racing, your friends, your boyfriend, whatever, they pulled up. >> They're right in front. So, they said they take your dog. Okay, that's fine with you. >> Is that fine with you? You want your friends to take your dog? >> It's a white male and a black male and the blue Mustang as your friends. Those are the guys that you are racing. I picked you because you're a passenger. You almost hit another car. >> So, you have you have anything in your pocket you'd be concerned about? Your friends are going to take that dog. Is that okay? >> All right. I'm going to let them take care of it. I don't know if uh is he going to be okay with him? >> I don't know. >> All right. I don't know. We got to get him somewhere. >> Either your friends take him or we call or we take him to the pond. >> No, he's not going to the pond. He's going with my friends. >> Okay. All right. >> Can you tell Can you tell them if they can't tell if they can't take him to call Pierce? Pierce. and tell them Pierce will pick me up. >> Can you tell them to call Pierce? >> So, they're going to take him. So, give me a second. >> Tell them to call Pierce. >> Yeah. There you go. There you go. Walk him out. Just close the door. Close the door. >> Perfect. >> Thank you, man. >> Good looking dog. >> Thank you. Yeah. All right. Get home, man. Appreciate it. Yeah. I'll call her dad. >> Okay, that's fine. You can call her dad. Go ahead. >> She was eventually booked into jail on the count of driving under the influence. Up next is the moment a 22-year-old woman went berserk after a failed attempt to charm her way out of a DUI. >> Coco was driving. >> I swear to God, I was just literally driving. >> Well, then how much have you had to drink tonight? >> I've had nothing to drink tonight. Thank you. So, >> who was Q? >> Who was Q? Coco. >> All right, you're under arrest. What do you ask? No. No. No. >> In April 2024, officers responded to a scene after receiving reports that a Tesla ran into a parked vehicle. When they pulled up, the driver sat there cool as ice, as if nothing had happened. But when the cops started asking questions, her response hit them like a bolt from the blue, leaving them momentarily speechless. >> Hello. How are you doing? >> I'm good. How are you? >> So, I just got here tonight. So, what's going on? I I just I just want to go home. >> I completely understand. >> Why did you jump to the passenger seat? >> Oh, no. No, no, no, no. I did not do that. I swear. No, I did not. That did not happen at all. >> We have witnesses. >> No, I swear to God. >> Okay. Can I talk you out here for a second? >> You can completely talk to me out here. >> Let's go, Rebecca. But nobody nobody at all asked me to come to the front. I did not I was not the one driving. >> Who was here with you? >> Officer Coco was driving. I swear >> is this. >> My friends, we were at a photo shoot. We were doing this photo shoot. Coco was driving. My friends were completely driving. I was not driving at all. I swear to God. I swear. >> So, why are witnesses telling us something totally different? >> I don't know, officer. I swear to God. >> I even tried to get you not to drive. >> No, no, no, no, no. That is so not true. >> You do realize Tesla has video, right? >> I swear to God. And you can look on my video right now, officer. I swear to God, that is so not true. >> Okay, pull it up. Pull it up and show me somebody else is driving. For a split second, she truly believed that boldly agreeing to pull up the video evidence would make her look squeaky clean. But that old song and dance didn't fool the cops for a heartbeat. They'd seen that movie one too many times and already knew how it ended. Nevertheless, they still decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. >> Okay, >> hold up the video. Show me. Okay, first of all, I don't you do not need toing come at me with an attitude because I was not driving and you don't need to assume. >> So, we have witnesses. We have witnesses. I said you were. >> No, I wasn't. >> Who the were the witnesses? >> I'm not going to tell you. >> The ones who were driving? The ones who were drunk driving my car. And you want to say there were witnesses? >> Can you pull up the video to show me you weren't driving? Where you going? >> To pull up the video. >> Okay. pull up the video to show me who was driving. >> At that point, she couldn't wrap her head around the fact that the cops were still insisting on the video evidence. Admittedly, she was drunk, but was not too dumb and knew very well that handing over that video would seal her fate. She needed a way to have the cops take their minds off it. >> Is this I feel like I'm literally being like a >> You're not being It's >> I swear. >> Okay. >> I swear to God. I was just literally driving. >> Well, then >> you were just literally driving. >> Okay. >> They had heard the truth and there was no putting the genie back in the bottle. Yet, they still gave her the chance to prove an innocence that was never there to begin with. >> Can you show me Can you show me the video to show you weren't driving? >> Even went off the traffic. Okay. Can you pull it up? >> Can you show me the video of who was behind the driver's seat while you're doing this? How much have you had to drink tonight? >> Excuse me. >> While you're pulling up the video, how much have you had to drink tonight? >> I've had nothing to drink tonight. Thank you. >> Okay. >> I feel like this is aing like absolute assumption and I don't I don't feel comfortable at all with you. >> But that's fine. >> Next to me, please step out. >> Okay, I'm not going to step away. Can you show me the video to show you weren't driving? You know this isn't actually like legal for you to show me this video, right? >> It is legal. >> No, it's not. >> 100% it is. >> No, it's not. >> You're claiming you weren't driving. You're claiming you have video to prove that. So, prove your innocence. Otherwise, I'm going to assume you were driving based on witnesses. >> Really? >> Yes. >> So, how the would you assume anything else other than >> based on witnesses? >> When it wasn't was when it wasn't a Tesla. >> What? When it wasn't a Tesla. >> When what wasn't a Tesla? >> Who Who is it? Who's the When it's not a Tesla? When there's no images. >> What are you talking about? >> Where's the video when there's no Tesla? >> This is a Tesla. >> Exactly. >> Right. So, show me the video. You work. >> So, when you pull someone over, where's the video? >> I don't need video. >> Prove. Okay. So, then So, you don't need pro. You don't need video. Then back away. >> I'm not backing away. >> Then back away. >> No. >> Period. >> You're all right. >> Are you trying to find the video to show you who is driving? I don't need to show video who is driving. >> If you want to try and prove to me you weren't, that's going to be your best bet right now because right now I have evidence to show you were driving. >> Oh. Uh, and how? And how? Because I'm in the passenger seat, >> right? You could have easily crawled over which >> I could have easily crawled the over. Are youing kidding me? Who the is this guy? >> He's trying to help me. >> Who is this guy? >> I'm giving you a chance to prove you weren't driving. >> If you can show that you weren't driving, that helps you. trying to help you. >> How How was I not driving? I'm sitting right here. I'm sitting right here. I'm sitting right here. >> Okay. Are you going to pull up the video? >> How was I not driving? >> How >> on the video? >> How? >> On your phone. >> How How am I? I'm sitting in the passenger seat. >> They are >> you able to pull up the video? >> They are drunk. >> Are you able to pull up the video? >> I am. And you're I can't believe you. My my It's software updating. I don't >> Why did you do a software update? I >> You selected that. You You're popping the trunk. You're doing all sorts of stuff except for pulling up the video. >> I did not do that. >> Yes, you did. I watched the pop the trunk pop >> and you selected that. >> Trunk pops automatically. Shut the up. >> It shouldn't. >> You're insane. >> Okay. >> You're insane. >> That's fine. >> You're an insane police officer and you should not be on parole. >> Parole? >> Yeah. You shouldn't be here at all. >> I'm not on parole >> because you accused me. You literally pulled me across the You pulled me over. >> I didn't pull you over. >> You were accusing me of any like nothing and you know exactly what the is going on. So stop acting stupid and stop acting uh for your stupid video. >> Okay. >> Like shut up. >> Go ahead and pull up the video for me then. >> Oh, I will. When it loads because you clearly think I'm lying about software up there. >> Look on your phone. Everybody guys on this police cam, I'm not I'm not lying about the police. I'm not up I'm not lying about the software update. It's updating. Everybody can see software update 2025.2.6. >> Okay. All right. Can I talk to you out here for a second? >> No. >> No. >> You're going to exit the car. >> I'm not going to exit the car. >> Listen to me. >> No, I'm not. She refused to get out of the car because she assumed it was a classic move to lure her out before the cuffs came out. She could cry as much as she wanted, but even a bucket full of pretentious tears were not going to change the outcome. >> This is going to go one of two ways. >> Don't make it harder. This should make this. Okay. >> Why? >> It goes a lot easier. Just >> Why? Why? Why? Why? I didn't do nothing. >> Okay, we need to talk to you out here. Just come on out here for me. >> I didn't do anything. >> Okay, I'm going to give you a chance to talk to me about that. Just come out here and talk to me. Right back here. >> Please. >> Right back here. >> Right back here. >> All right, that's good. >> Where's my dad? >> Can you try and face me? >> Please. >> Are you wearing contacts? >> Yeah, please. >> Are you wearing contacts? How much alcohol have you consumed tonight? >> Zero. >> All right. Do you see this green light? Hold your head still. Follow the green light with your eyes and your eyes only. Hold your head still. >> I just want my dad. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so emotional. I just I just I just want my dad. >> What does your dad do for a living? >> He's an air conditioning mechanic. >> All right. Just keep looking at the green light. >> Okay. >> And how old are you? >> I'm I'm 22. I'm so >> Whose vehicle is this? It's mine, officer. >> It's yours. How does the vehicle operate? Do you have the key? >> I I do. It's It's by my phone. >> It operates by your phone. Did you come here by yourself? You came here by yourself? >> Did you consume any alcoholic beverages after the collision? >> All right. Take a breath. Wipe lips on the straw. Blow hard and steady till I try to stop. Little hard. >> Okay. What's the reason you're lying to me about your alcohol consumption? I'm not >> you are. We can smell it. We can see it. You're drunk. There's witnesses to say that you were driving. They tried to get you to >> These witnesses were driving me drunk. But okay. Okay, officer. These witnesses were driving me drunk. Please, please. >> All right, we're going to go right down here. >> Please. I wasn't driving. >> Here's what's going to happen. I'm going to ask whether you're going to consent to two blood samples, two breath samples. There's consequences for submitting and there's consequences for refusing. >> You do not need to pay to get out tonight. You'll receive a citation with a court date in about one month. All right. >> No. No. No. Please officer. I wasn't driving. Please, please have a seat. Please >> have a seat. >> No, no, no. Why do you want to talk to your dad? >> Because I want to tell I wasn't driving. >> All right, just hang tight. >> Tank. >> For obvious reasons, the officers figured that she would call her jets once the cuffs were on. They couldn't have been more wrong and sooner or later they would learn that the storm wasn't over yet. It was just gathering strength. >> I swear officer, how do I get arrested if I wasn't driving? >> All right. Can you hear me? Okay. >> I'm so sorry. I just I just I just >> I need you to listen to me. Okay. >> I just >> take some deep just listen. Take some deep breaths and I need you to listen. Okay. >> I don't understand. >> All right. Justing makes it. >> It'll be nice when I'm done so I can go home. >> In the end, she was charged with driving under the influence. Just when you thought that you had seen the last of drunk drivers who think they can outsmart nononsense cops. Along comes this former security officer who begged cops to take her life when she was caught driving under the influence. >> What do you do in law enforcement? Curly, brother. >> I've worked with the security. >> Get the out my ring. I would get a me. >> Here's a open container of Modello. And I don't know what that fluid is, but I'm not going to smell it. >> On November the 11th, 2024, an officer in Florida responded to a call from a hospital parking lot after a Honda CRV had plowed into a white Volkswagen. When he arrived, he began the usual routine, checking that both drivers had their paperwork in order. After concluding the victim check, he turned to the woman behind the wheel of the Honda, who was still fumbling through her things and struggling to produce a single document. As the officer watched her slurred speech and glassy wandering eyes, it didn't take a crystal ball to see that something was off. She looked like she had one too many. Still, he decided to play it by the book, certain that he would get to the bottom of things soon enough. >> I'll go ahead and give you this incident number. just shows that we're responded out here. >> Okay, perfect. >> Another point of reference for your insurance company. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Let me go get with her real quick. Hang on. >> Were you able to find it? I'm just My mother is >> Cuz I don't think you're that intoxicated, but if you are have been drinking, I need you to have somebody come get you. You understand me? >> At this point, she had figured out that she was kneede in trouble. And despite the officer's calm tone, she could tell that things weren't going to be as smooth as he made them sound. If she had any hope of wriggling out of this mess, she'd have to think on her feet and cook up a convincing story quickly. >> I understand what you're saying, but you understand. I'm just I'm very sad. My mother last night asked me, "Was I gay? Was I straight?" I cried all night. If I look crazy, that's why I cried all night about that. Um this morning she went to church. She went back. Um, and then this awful thing happened. And then you got to remember, I can't even think about the last time I I hit someone. I I hit her. She didn't hit me. I hit her. I've been here 3 weeks, right? I And even in Texas, I had paperless. It's called paperless insurance or something. >> No matter how hard the officer came at her, she always seemed to have an answer ready. Quick on the draw. Too quick for someone who appeared that intoxicated. Her slick chumbbacks only fan the flames of his suspicion, and before long, the officer's gut was screaming that she had an ace up her sleeve. >> So everything was online. Like I I everything on autopay. Hers is the same. >> So So I Okay. So I have to look. >> You have to log in, right? >> Yes. And I'm not Maybe hers is like mine, but I I don't I'm not the greatest at that. >> I'm slow, but >> Okay. >> It's not my thing. I don't have any glasses. >> You need glasses? >> I wear glasses. Yes. Walking over to the woman whose car she had hit wasn't a gesture of goodwill, but a deliberate ploy to buy herself some time. He couldn't help but smirk. She was trying to play games with someone who had seen that trick one too many times. And it never ended well for the player. >> They are like >> her driver's her driver's license. I think she's intoxicated. >> Yeah, I got that the first two minutes. I didn't get I didn't get that.
