Some pastors stand at the pulpit preaching morality and righteousness yet commit horrific deeds behind the scenes. From being caught with a young male under the age of majority doing the unthinkable. >> How you doing, sir? >> Hey, how are you? >> You stepping out of here for me? Close the door for me? >> I took my shirt off. >> Well, when I walked out of here putting your shorts on >> to being caught arranging an intimate rendevous with a female under the age of majority. >> Please help me, man. My son is in the car, man. We were going to Savannah, Georgia. So, >> we got warrants for arrest out of North Carolina. >> Oh, shoot. Okay. >> Human trafficking out of North Carolina. >> Oh my goodness. >> Here are the moments when pastor's unthinkable [music] secrets ended up in shocking arrest. Starting with Thomas Bartma, a pastor who pleasured himself in front of a Walmart. >> What's going on today? >> Nothing much. >> So, what are you doing naked? So, we had calls that you were I mean, I literally pulled up and watched you just standing there. looked like you were doing something else. Like I said, I seen you stand there naked. I had two calls on you said that you were uh playing with yourself. So, you're going to be going down to the jail. Okay. >> It's going to be indentation exposure and uh disorderly conduct. All right. >> On August the 10th, 2023, Kenosha County, deputies were dispatched to the Walmart in Summers, Wisconsin, after witnesses reported seeing a fully naked man standing behind a black truck in the store's parking lot and appearing to pleasure himself. When deputies arrived, the man, later identified as 57-year-old Pastor Thomas Bartma, immediately climbed into his truck while still unclothed. But the deputies weren't about to let this public indecency go unchecked. >> How's it going? >> Hey there. >> What's going on today? >> Nothing much. >> So, what are you doing naked? >> I'm sorry. I just uh I was changing my clothes and uh and I couldn't do it in the car, so I just got out and changed them. So >> So what's your name? So, we had calls that you I mean, I literally pulled up and watched you just standing there. Looked like you were doing something else. >> Yes, sir. >> What was going on there? >> I wasn't uh Well, I'm out with them. You can attach them. So, >> sorry. >> What? So, what was going on with that? Have you ever been arrested before? >> No, I never like this. >> So, what was the reason today? What was going on? >> I don't know. I really don't know. I'm very sorry. >> You really don't know. Well, >> I just I guess I've got a problem. >> You got a problem with what? >> Huh? >> What do you have a problem with? >> Well, I don't know. Just maybe boredom in life. I just wanted to I don't know. I would have killed somebody. >> Well, >> there's there's not many really there's not any excuses on why you'd be doing something like that. >> I know. >> And then as I'm pulling up, you hurry up and jump in your truck and try to run away. >> Well, I didn't. >> Yeah, because that's not it wasn't what I was doing. >> So, doesn't make any sense. >> I'm very sorry. >> So, do you have anything in the vehicle or anything like that? No, I've just come on a different >> You mind just stepping out for me on that side? All right, we can just come back here. All right, we're going to go back in front of my squat bar and then while we're here again, you're not going into custody. You're just going to be detained until I get a part here. Okay. All right. So, we're going to put the custo line on your back. three pound trip. We can show one to 10. All right. So, we're just going to step in front of my swatch right here. All right. I'm very >> Oh, we're just go right here in front again. You have nothing on you? >> No. No. >> All right. I'm just going to pat you down. Okay. >> That's fine. cuz I'm by myself and have no needle or nothing like that. Oh no. >> Needless to say, this was one of the most bizarre arrests the deputy ever had to make in his career. To think that a pastor of all people would be up to such lewd acts in public was just downright disturbing. And the deputy was determined to understand Bartner's reasoning behind it. >> This your time to help me out. What was going through your head? What was going on? What What were you doing? Um, I guess I just wanted the thrill of it. >> The thrill of what? >> Thrill of just here. >> You can turn around. Face me. >> Thrill of what then? >> Thrill of just being different. Just >> I don't know. >> It's not a normal It's not a normal act. >> No, no. Like I said, I think I've got a problem. >> And have you done it before? >> No. >> No. First time? >> All I've done. I think it was just a little bit bored. And >> like I said, I've seen you stand there naked. I had two calls on you. Said that you were uh playing with yourself. >> Yeah. >> So, is that pretty much what was happening? >> Yeah, but not really. I mean, I was just touching. I wasn't really doing anything without. So, >> all right, that's fine. Well, I'm going to have you take a seat in the back of my squad car. We're going to wait for my partner to get here and then we're going to have another conversation. All right. >> Okay. >> And I'll explain to you if we're what we're doing. All right. >> All right. >> All right. Nothing in your vehicle? >> No, there's nothing. Um I think I don't know if I turned it off or not. Did I? >> Nope. Vehicle's on. I'll shut that off as soon as I uh >> get over there and wait for my partner to get here cuz my doors are locked until we can get in >> and then uh we're going to go from there. Okay. You can just have consideration that this is going to ruin my life. >> I do have consideration, but you have to understand from where I'm coming from, I had two calls on it. >> I had a fire chief let me know. You want to unlock my door on that side for me? >> So, this is Deputy Stitch. >> I'm very sorry. >> So, were you naked when he got here? >> He was naked over there. So, >> he admitted everything. Said he wasn't playing with us. He was just touching himself. And >> he was >> Yeah. Yeah. But I wasn't. So hang on one second. >> So my thing is here, like I said, you're standing naked in a roundabout. >> I know. >> You're playing with yourself. I don't care if you say you're just touching yourself >> and you're doing that in a public place. You said you're just doing it for the thrill. As I pulled up, you hurry up and pulled away. >> That's right. got all the way over here and jumped into a parking spot. >> Just a natural response. I mean, >> I was scared, you know, >> and you said that you have a problem. You said you don't usually do this. This is your first time doing this in an active place. >> I can't I can't believe it. >> You and I would try something like this and I was thinking it was fun or whatever. And it just I have a problem and I'm I've got to talk with somebody. Does it really good? >> Yes, it is. >> And again, you have nothing in your vehicle? >> No, nothing. >> All right. I'm going to have you take a seat in here. I'm just going to roll up your window off your truck and I'll explain tomorrow. Okay. See you in here for me. >> Watch your head when you get in. >> Oh god. >> My life is going to be ruined. >> It's not how that works. We'll explain some things. All right. I'm just going to close the door for one second. >> Very sorry. >> The pastor had no problem with making innocent bystanders uncomfortable during the act, but had a lot of nerve to play the victim once the consequences caught up with him. [crying] Oh, I don't What have I done? What have I done? >> Is your wife aware of this, sir? >> No, she's not. And she'll be devastated. I just I can't imagine. You >> done this before? >> No, I've never >> I've never done this in my life. It's >> You still live out in Bristol? >> Yes, I do. >> You do? Yes, I do. Oh, God. Oh, how I love her so much and she's got just crushed by this. >> You need to calm yourself down. Okay. >> Okay. >> There's no need to be hysterical right now. Okay. >> I'm not okay. I'm fine. I'm just >> You can You have You have options. You have choices here. You can be hysterical or you can not be hysterical about it. Okay. >> Same thing. You It's the It happened. >> Yes, it did. >> Okay. Calm down. >> Okay. Yeah, I'm good. >> All right, just stand by. >> So, you're going to be going down to the jail. Okay. >> It's going to be indentation exposure and uh disord disorderly conduct. All right. >> Okay. Disorderly conducted. >> What was that? >> What was What is disorderly? >> You were disturbing everybody around you and we had people that called on you. All right. >> I'm sorry. I just >> Okay. >> So, that's what'll be happening. All right. >> Um my wallet and my phone is in there. >> Want me to bring both of those? >> Well, I have to. >> Okay. I'll I'll grab both of those and then I'll uh I'll have my partner grab them and I'll we'll put them in >> my keys too. >> Yep. We'll grab all that. >> Get worse and straighten out your truck. All right. So, give me one second. >> Bartma was charged with disorderly conduct and lewd and lascivious behavior. Both misdemeanors and was released on bond about an hour and a half later. Bartma wasn't the only one hiding a secret. Next we have Pastor Alonso Joseph who attempted inappropriate acts with a male teen in [music] the backseat of his car. >> How you doing, man? You have any weapons on you or anything like that? So, uh, who's this guy? >> Um, we're in the >> Okay. How old is he? >> Um, 18. >> Well, you see how it looks? I come up and you two are in the back seat, >> right? >> You don't need a lie. >> Okay. Okay. Yeah. On July the 14th, 2022, police officers in Palm Coast, Florida, responded to a noise complaint and discovered an ex-church leader and pastor, Alonso Joseph, with a 16-year-old boy in the backseat of a car. [music] What made the situation downright unsettling was that both males appeared to pull their pants up as soon as officers approached, raising questions about what exactly the 48-year-old pastor had been doing with the team. >> How's it going, sir? Hey, how are you? >> Stepping out of here for me? Cut the door for me. >> How you doing, man? You have any weapons on you or anything like that? >> No, no, no, sir. >> You got ID on you? >> Yes. >> Have your ID on you? >> No. >> You don't have any ID on you? >> No. No, I do. Okay. >> It's all right, sir. I'll get your name. You step over here. Go to my car right there. Okay. >> Step over there. >> Just stand right there. Lean on the car for me. Put your hands on the car. Now, I'm just going to pat you down for weapons. Okay. Here. Right here. Stand in the car. Stand in the car. You don't have anything on you? >> No. Well, I have my phone. >> That's fine. Leave it there. >> Are you being detained? >> Yes. Right now. You're on private property. Oh, you can put your hands on the car. Don't lean on the car. Just put your hands on the car. Put your feet. You don't have anything on you. No. >> Just your phone. >> No weapons. What's that? Headphones. Put them back in there. So, do you just have to leave or Okay. >> Right now, I'm going to get your information first and then we'll figure out from there. >> Okay. >> All right. You go ahead and lean on the car for me. Turn around. Just lean on the car right there. What's your name? >> Alfonso. >> Alfonso. A L F O N Z O. >> Yeah. Last name. >> Joseph. What's your date of birth? >> 11673. >> All right. Just stand right there for a second. What are you guys wearing? Obviously, it's kind of off yet. >> Who is GPU? >> Who's G? >> Um, just so uh who's this guy? >> Um, a friend of the month. >> Okay. How old is he? >> Um, 18. >> Okay. Do you have a driver's license? No. >> No. Don't have any kind of identification? >> No. Where's he live? >> Um, in the section. >> Okay. >> So, what's his name? What's his last name? >> I don't know his last name. I always >> Okay. So, what are you guys doing out here? >> Uh, we was just chilling. That's all. >> Just chilling. >> It was getting hot in the car, so I just took my shirt off. Well, when I walked up, you were putting your shorts on. >> No, my shorts. Cuz a lot of times in my shorts, they get kind of stuck. >> Mhm. >> So, I was like trying to fix something. >> Okay. >> Cuz when you sit in the car, you get it get wet. It's some kind of give you a wedge. >> Okay. So, we see how it looks. I come up. You two are in the back seat, >> right? Cuz the front seat um we the front seat is like far away from me. >> Mhm. So, I was like, you know, just talking, communicating, trying to get to know him, and um and that was it. >> But, but you see how it looks to me. >> You guys are in the back. >> I got you. I got you. >> It was something cuz as soon as we turned our lights on, you started moving around real fast. >> Yeah. Because, you know, it's a secluded place. >> Mhm. >> And we wasn't expecting >> Yeah. >> You know, and I understand >> there's not supposed to be anybody back here. >> Oh, no. >> No. There's a no trespassing sign over by the entrance over there. >> Wow. >> How long you been up here? How long have I been out here? >> Mhm. >> Maybe 15 minutes. >> Okay. >> And I was just getting ready to drop my mobile phone. >> Okay. >> No, no one told you. I just told you it was just to be entertained cuz you on private property. Okay. It said no trespass sign right on the front. Okay. >> All right. You guys are no trespassing. Okay. It's not free to go till we figure out what's going on. Okay. >> Where were you guys coming from? >> Oh, we just spoke from this house. >> Oh, okay. >> Can I put my shirt on? >> No, brother. You stay out of the car for right now. Just try and smack him off. Despite Joseph's claims of his activities being nothing but innocuous, the deputies were not dumb enough to fall for his half-hearted lies. They knew something entirely inappropriate was happening in that back seat. And the following information only filled their guts with even more dread. >> So, who is he to you? >> Where did you meet him? >> Um, I met him um a couple days ago and then we wanted to meet up just to get to know him and that was it. >> Okay. like nothing crazy, you know. >> Nothing crazy. So, you met him online, you said? >> No, not online. I met him like we was in Walmart one day and then >> So, you guys just met up in Walmart. How did you guys just like face to face? >> When I met him online in Walmart, then he um text me online. >> So, how do you get your number? >> He said he texted you. You guys met in Walmart and then he started texting you a lot. >> Yes, online. >> Okay. So, so you guys were just both shopping at Walmart and then you guys started talking in Walmart when you guys saw each other, right? >> I asked him a few questions like, "You know what? this place and he was like telling me where he came from and I was know where I came from and then that was it. >> You guys exchanged phone numbers at that point and Okay. And then so what' you do? Pick him up from his house or >> I pick him up from his house cuz I work late so I said well um maybe just come and talk over here, >> you know. And I didn't know it was a no trespassing sign. I know was I used to be a golf course. >> Yeah. >> And I I didn't know it was a no trespassing sign cuz other than that I wouldn't have been over here. >> Yeah. Okay. How old are you? Um, I'll be 40 48. >> What were you guys doing? >> Huh? >> What were you guys doing? >> We was just sitting back seat talking and I told like I told the cop I said um I took my shirt off because it was getting hot in the car and then he said I was trying to fix something. I said yeah I was fixing my shirt because a lot of times when you sweat your shorts get >> your car's on, isn't it? >> Yeah, but the AC is you know >> it's pretty new to Toyota. >> Yeah, it is pretty new but sometime it gets hot. So >> yeah. What you guys have? Your pants down the line. I I kind of figured what's going on. >> I didn't have my pants down though. >> No, he did. >> He had his pants down. >> Oh, wow. >> So, not going to tell me what's going on. No, >> that that would >> if it is if if that's what you guys are doing. That's what you guys are going to do, >> right? >> At some point, >> right? >> It is what it is. >> You know, people do it all the time, but you don't need a lie. >> Okay. And eventually once he realized that he had been backed into a corner, the pastor revealed his nasty deeds of the night. >> Yeah, I was. >> Okay. All right. Was he with anybody at Walmart when you met him or is he by himself? >> He's by himself. >> Does he drive or anything like that? >> Not Not that I know of. >> 16. >> Oh yeah. >> Go ahead and turn around back. I got some big wrists. Anything wondering? >> Yeah. Over here. The right side of my door. >> What's in here? That's yours. >> On my slide. Have a seat in there. >> So, is there anything in the car we need to worry about? >> Uh, no. >> Okay. Sit tight. >> You're good. I got it. You're good. All right. Are you willing to talk to us? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, go over what occurred tonight. >> Uh, we just came and chilled over here. >> Where did you pick him up? >> Um, from home. >> Do you know where his house is? >> Yeah. >> When did you Where did you meet him again? >> At home. >> No. Where did you meet him? Like, where did you guys first meet? >> Walmart. >> Walmart. Okay. How How long ago was that? >> Maybe about two weeks ago. >> Two weeks ago. And then you just met in what? >> And then I um text him. Well, he text me and he wanted to talk. So, we came over here to talk. >> Okay. You guys just exchanged information and phone numbers when you guys were at Walmart and then just started talking for the past couple weeks, >> right? >> Okay. And you said he advised you to come pick them up tonight. Okay. And after you picked them up while you came over here straight over here, >> right? >> Okay. What were you guys going to do after that? After you were doing what you were doing? >> That was it. >> Yeah. All you were going to do and what were you going to do after that? >> I was going to drop him back off home. >> Drop them off back at home. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Is this the first time you ever had like interaction with them other than Walmart and besides that? >> That's the first time. Yeah. >> Okay. All right. So, obviously we got two different stories. You said you met him today. First time. First time you ever met him. You never met him anywhere else. Like you said, you're not in trouble. We're just trying to clarify the end of the story. You didn't meet him at a Walmart a couple weeks ago. >> You didn't meet him at a Walmart a couple weeks ago. You're saying you just met tonight. He's saying you met two weeks ago at Walmart and exchanged information and you guys didn't talk since. That's not what happened. So, you first met him today on Tinder? >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. Do you know how old he was by any chance? >> Yeah. In the end, Joseph was charged with lewd or Laskivious battery for which he got 5 years in prison. Joseph got what was coming to him, similar to Willie Wright, a creepy pastor who tried meeting up with a young girl while harboring inappropriate intentions. >> What is going on? >> You guys tell me why why I'm here. >> And what number is this, sir? That's the number that you were texting. >> They saying something about a a text and a and a call from a girl and and girl. >> On January the 15th, 2025, the Nassau County Sheriff's Office and multiple partnering agencies carried out an undercover operation where undercover detectives posed as young persons online to catch predators. Willie Wright, identified as a church pastor and registered offender from Green Cove Springs, was one of the individuals whom officers had set their eyes upon. Wright had traveled to a pre-arranged location, believing he was meeting a young girl after exchanging explicit messages with her online. What made the situation even worse was that he took his 3-year-old son along with him for the ride. It didn't take long for the deputies to intercept the slimy man at the pre-arranged location. >> Yep. You see the sun back there? >> Hey, there is someone in the back rear seat. >> Probably a 56. >> Oh my god. Guys, please help me, man. My son is in there, y'all. Please help me, man. My son is in the car, man. >> We heard you the first seven times. >> Thank you. Thank you. Scar me. Is in the car, man. He asleep. I can't believe this, man. What is going on? Man, my son is in the car sleeping. >> We heard you, man. >> This is Wait a minute. >> You get in the car, man. I got people to validate this. Y'all standing over there in the car, man. Wow, guys. What's going on with my son? Sir, man, can somebody talk to me, please? Man, come on, man. Y'all got my son. Can anybody talk to me, man? Please. Come on, man. What about my son? Is he sleep? And y'all scaring me, man. We was going to Savannah, Georgia to a worship conference. >> Can y'all talk to me, please? Anybody? Can y'all talk to me? Oh my god, man. Y'all scared me right now, man. Son is in the car. Oh my god. Oh my god. Can y'all talk to me, man? Anyone? I can't believe Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Never had. That is so embarrassing, man. That is embarrassing. I I know. But can I can I can Can I just call somebody just to pick him up? My sisters them are in Savannah at worship service. He was headed there. I just need someone to call and pick him up, man. Please, please. I just don't want him to be nervous or anything. Please, please, please, please. Oh my god. [clears throat] All right, this is amazing. Is he up? Oh my god. Wright's half-hearted attempts to fame concern for his underage son didn't get the sympathetic reaction from the deputies like he wanted. It was clear that a slimy, disgusting man like him did not care one iota about his son, and the officers were forced to pick up his slack. What is all of this? Wow, this is embarrassing. Oh gosh. Can I call Please let me call somebody. Who are y'all calling without the number? Come on, guys. Wow, man. And nobody's talking to me. This is embarrassing. This is embarrassing right here. This is embarrassing right here, man. This is embarrassing. I cannot believe this right here. It's all right. I've done nothing. I'm calling name Jesus. This is embarrassing. Father, you have your way. You have your way, God. Life has Oh my God. Life is not like this Lord Jesus. Life is not like this God. And I believe it so in the name of Jesus that this is not it. This is embarrassing me and my son in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. We got too much going on in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. We is not going to lose nothing off of this cuz this is embarrassing. Cannot pinpoint nobody like this man. Don't tell me nothing. Father, you have your way. Cover my son in the name of Jesus. Right now, cover myself, Lord Jesus, when over all my days will come. Name of Jesus, please. Take this hat off me. Take this hand off of me. in the name of Jesus. This is not how Oh my God, this hurts. It's not going to destroy our ministry. They're not going to destroy our church nor my life. In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. This they're going to pay for this back. I feel like she's not worth she's worth more than enough Jesus. Wright certainly didn't remember any of those prayers when he was on his way to meet a minor. So, it was pointless for him to recite them now in the interrogation room. It was amidst his ramblings that investigators finally arrived to extract the truth out of him. >> Why do you think you're here? >> Listen, we was going to We was going to a service in Savannah, Georgia. My sister didn't go there. >> Mhm. >> We was going to surprise them there. >> Okay. >> What kind of service? >> Church service. >> Church service. >> Yes, sir. >> Who was going? Just you and your son. >> Me and my son. My wife was going went to her mother's house and she went to a service in Palaca. So I picked my son up from school. I said, "You know what? Let's go to service." I was going to surprise my sister. They had a service in Savannah, Georgia. >> Okay. >> Um took a turn and tried to get back home, but man, it's all kind of things been going on. Feel like I've been under attack. Someone tried to run us off the road this past Saturday. Someone um hit my truck. Hit me twice. I flipped my truck, man. What kind of car you have? What kind of truck? >> I have a truck. A GMC 2020 GMC. Damn. >> Yeah. >> You guess you're good now. >> No. No. I'm still going through the process of that, man. Everything is someone I don't even know. It was a hit and run. They kept going. >> Was your son with you? >> No, he was. I was Thank God I was the only one there in there, man. It's like people have been coming up just all kind of things going on, man. People set trying to I don't know. It feel like I don't know how tag set up. >> I'm glad you're here and not you know >> could have been worse. >> Exactly. Yeah. And not even here. It's the last place I want to be. >> Oh, yeah. Not necessarily here, but you know, you're still breathing. >> Absolutely. Yes, sir. >> So, why do you why do you think you're here talking to us right now, >> sir? I don't That's what we need to get to. >> Okay. How did you end up here? How did you end up at uh the gas station? >> Well, I was coming down um trying to get um get on cuz I was trying to get the address and everything as well. I made the wrong turn, so I kept going. Um went to get gas. Um he he was he had fell asleep cuz we were going to get something to eat too as well. >> Um >> so where where'd you come up from? Exactly. So you picking up from school, right? >> Yeah. >> What school you go? >> What route did you take to get here? >> Sir, that's the thing. Um I thought I was going the wrong way. So me and my wife, what we do is they say I don't have a sense of direction. So I call myself trying to Yeah. So I'm call myself trying to get a sense of direction. Someone was behind me though. It seemed like someone was following. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. >> Okay. >> I don't know. >> Were you on the interstate? >> Uh, I think so. Yeah. I got off and everything. Oh, >> right. >> So, he likes pizza and stuff. So, I was trying to feed him something. So, I said, "You know what? I'm going pull off and do this, too, as well." >> So, um, yeah. I don't know, man. I'm I'm nervous. I ain't going to lie. I'm not even nervous. I'm more >> worried about my son, first off. Um, okay. And I know this this stuff going to work itself out. I don't know what's going on, but I'm sure you guys got a better clue than me. And my hands are numb right here cuz of the tightness of this level. >> Like I said, give us a few minutes here. >> As I went as I proceeded to get to the gas that I didn't even I paid for the gas, didn't even get the gas. I wanted to make it full. I wanted the vehicle to be all the way full. So when we came back from from Georgia, Savannah, Georgia, um everything would be fine. I mean, as far as stopping, we can come straight home, meet my wife, we'll be fine. So, >> what made you choose that gas station? >> What you mean? I We were just going, like I said, I was trying to um I was actually wasn't I was trying to go somewhere else and then I don't know. It was a car following him. It was a car following me and um I was trying to turn. It was so far up on me on the other one up front. I just kept going. So, >> man, I just I don't know. I I know how I don't know. I don't know. Um what I will tell you, I'm nervous. Wright believes that beating around the bush of the incident would somehow get the investigators off his back, but he underestimated just how capable they actually were. >> Stop you. Okay. >> Okay. Yes, sir. >> Please stop lying to me. But look at me. Look at me. >> No, man. Y'all y'all ain't No. >> Look, we're going to get get to the bottom of everything. >> Yes, sir. Yes, sir. >> I need you to be honest with me and honest with yourself about everything that's going on. Absolutely. >> I'm going to shoot you as straight as I can. >> Okay. >> As long as you do the same. >> Okay. Okay. Well, you tell me. >> So, let let me let me ask you the question one more time. >> Why did you Why did you end up at that gas station? >> Sir, can't tell you. But one could only imagine what his victims felt, realizing they were trapped thousands of kilometers from home in a foreign country, alone and at the mercy of a monster. Surprisingly, his wife on the phone didn't seem too shocked about his arrest. Yeah, that the that's what the detective in North Carolina put in on you. >> Oh my god. >> Yeah, that's crazy, isn't it? So, um, >> what are you going to do with the dog? >> That's that's what they want to know if you know cuz they can take it to animal control, but you know, between you getting in here to pick her up. If there's a button, it's got a key. >> We'll wait till they get here and you can lock the house up. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Right. >> So, you you guys have to send me over there to the other county, right? >> Yeah. We're just going to have to sit you in like in like a >> dining room chair or something. >> Sosa, right? Born in 75. >> Yep. Sosa was charged with human trafficking, first-degree statutory offense, inappropriate activity by a custodian, and taking indecent liberties with a person under the age of consent. So was one scumbag of a pastor, and so were Keith and Candy, who tormented their young ones. >> You both are going to be under arrest for child can go with these two gentlemen. All eight children are now in protective custody. >> This is what I do. I take care of kids. It's all my education. And this is absurd. It is not fair. >> In January 2024, law enforcement in Blackwell, Oklahoma, became aware of multiple reports and referrals from child welfare workers alleging severe physical and neglect of eight young ones living in the home of Pastor Keith Lyn Halt, 58, and his [music] wife Candy Denise Halt, 53. On January the 16th, 2024, officers went to the Halt residence and spoke privately with one of the older children [music] who disclosed extensive beatings with a wooden board and belt and showed bruises. Armed with enough evidence, the deputies decided to confront the deplorable couple. >> All right, we're back. >> All right. All right. Right now, you both are going to be under arrest for child can go with these two gentlemen. All eight children are now in protective custody. >> We we will have a conversation when I get to the police department. >> Okay. >> Okay. I know you're you're going to be nice, so I'm going to put it in front for you. Okay, >> that sound good. >> Can you get some shoes here? >> Please get there. Can I sit down before you put the other one on? >> Where you need? >> I'm just getting my shoes that front. >> Oh, you could probably >> Yeah, I'll just put my front so it's more comfortable for you. Okay. >> I'm going to put him in my car. Now, we'll get your shoes real quick. You don't have anything on you? >> I don't. No, I don't. >> Okay. No wallet, no purse, no nothing. >> No. Okay. >> Oh, I have a I have my purse. >> Do you want to bring your purse with you? >> I mean, yeah. >> I mean, you may want your wallet. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Where is that? >> Your shoes. You want >> Yeah, that's fine. >> Where is your purse at? >> My purse right here. >> Okay. >> Just be Please. >> Do you have medication you need to take with you? >> No. Please be careful where you see you. >> We're not going to serious. That's my job. Okay. I'm While you're think while we come back to talk to you, start thinking ones. Okay. >> Yeah. I need >> You want to grab my arm? >> My um Well, I need my hand. >> Thought you're trying to get your shoe on. >> If you need to sit down real quick and adjust >> I put it in the front so you're able to do whatever you need to do. >> This is what I do. I take care of kids. That's all my education. That's everything I've ever done. And this is absurd and it's not fair. And CJ is the one who doesn't understand. Please. >> We'll have a chance to talk to you. Okay. >> So, I just want him to be protected. >> All right, man. We're going to go out here. Okay. >> I know. I know. >> I'm sorry. Okay. >> Oh my god. >> So, it's going to be that SUV right over here. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> You go ahead and >> Okay. >> Start walking. >> Got it. >> Yeah. My cell phone is on the bed if we need my brother's phone number. >> Okay. because [snorts] >> I'll have uh I'll have >> my lieutenant get it. >> Okay. All right. Since your hands are in the front, go ahead and try to buckle up for me, sir. >> Thank you. >> Thank you. >> The couple was subsequently charged with felony neglect, and kidnapping. All eight children, ranging in range from [music] 2 to 17, were placed into state protective custody. While that was a shocking arrest, it was mild compared to the moment deputies apprehended Derek Scobby, an arrogant pastor who had no regard for the law. No, you're creating more problems for yourself. >> Matt, do you think I care? You want to Google me >> and see? I advocate for people that are mistreated every single day. >> So, what would what would how would you advocate for your wife by getting arrested for trespassing in a store that has asked you to leave? On November the 8th, 2025, Oklahoma pastor Derek Scobby went to a White House black market store in Edmund, Oklahoma after his wife contacted him, claiming that she had been inappropriately touched by a store employee while shopping earlier that day. Scobby arrived at the store and confronted both the employee and the store manager, expressing frustration over the alleged incident. Edmund police were then called to the scene for the disturbance he was causing. >> All right, Mr. Kobe, we got to get out of the store. >> Oh, I'm not leaving. >> Okay. >> The only thing I'm leaving respectfully, you're going to arrest me. >> Okay. >> And that's >> Well, what why why are you making it that way? >> Guess what I'm not going to do? >> What? >> I'm not I'm not going to talk anymore other than tell you I just talked to Vicki. >> Okay. I don't care who you've spoken to. >> Take me to jail. >> This is stupid. Like you're stupid. >> You are creating another problem on top of something that's already going on. I'm a correct one for what happened today. >> No, you're creating more problems for yourself. >> Matt, do you think I care? You want to Google me and see? You want to see so you don't understand >> what what does that mean? >> I don't tolerate this stuff. I I I advocate for people that are mistreated every single day. >> Sure. >> Every day. >> Okay. So, >> so you think I'm not going to advocate for my wife? >> Sure. I I get I get that, but this isn't the way to do it. This is completely wrong. >> No. >> So, what would what would how would you advocate for your wife by getting arrested for trespassing in a store that has asked you to leave? Tell me what's advocating about that. >> Um, so I guess then we have to ask the question, uh, what was wrong when I stood in front of the governor's mansion? My friend, governor's dead. >> Okay, go ahead. the night before the night before Julius Jones was scheduled to be executed and I was arrested in the middle of the street just me and the next morning uh it was commuted to life without possibility parole. >> What does that have to do with right now? >> To file charges against me. I went to court six times for misdemeanor. Two that it was a $500 fine. >> Sure. >> You've been arrested. Congrats. >> No, >> I mean I went to court six times, >> okay, >> for a $500 [music] fine, >> okay, >> because of the principle of it. So, uh and and then when it was all said and done, the charges were dismissed in the best interest of justice. >> Okay? >> And the and the DA who filed them against him, we're friends now. Meaning, you just don't understand the method to my madness when I do things. So, like with this, >> tell me how a criminal trespass will help you advocate for your wife. >> It will, sir. So, >> okay. Well, let's let's get up because we have to we got to go. >> Okay. What do we have to go do? >> We've got to exit the store. >> I'm not exiting the store before you put me under arrest. >> Scobby truly believed that trespassing into a store would somehow bring justice to his allegedly mistreated wife. The arrogance rolled off the pastor in waves, and it wasn't something the deputy was willing to tolerate. Okay, stand up for me. >> Okay. So, this is a trespassing. So, >> let's go out this way. >> Hello. Yes, I already >> Thank you. >> Did you tell your wife and daughter this is what you're going to do? >> No. >> Okay, we're going to go car back over there. You want your phone and wallet. Go with your wife. You want to go with you? >> Leave it right in my pocket. Wherever you put it in my bag. >> Okay. >> In the end, Scobby was slapped with a trespassing charge.
