I I really wasn't stealing my son's 12 like I said I'm on my way home to my kids sometimes it glitches and it and it it'll raise things off the app I wasn't planning on stealing anything to my knowledge I thought I paid for all of it on July 29th 2023 an officer responded to a store after receiving a report of a woman stealing items upon running her vehicle's license plate the officer discovered the car's mate didn't match the registered information hey Police Department both of you guys put your hands on top of the steer wheal for me okay um so I when I run the plate of your truck it doesn't come back to a a Chevy it should it's um I bought this car off the car lot I've been pulled over a couple times so oh yeah let me just get all verified we also got a call that you guys would were you over at Walmart a little bit ago yeah okay we got to call that you guys had stor so I did a the scanning go thing I was scanning everything in my cart and and I paid up the register okay yeah a citizen called it in so let me um and then sir can you keep your other hand on top of the front for me um so let me just verify what the story Qui okay okay I'll just wait till my other people get here okay I mean would you like get my registration uh first go ahead and take the keys out of the car for me thank you and we'll just hang tight for a minute once my partner gets here I'll uh double check that your B so that we can verify it's the right C get your plate verified cuz when I ran yeah when I ran the plate it came back to like a for instead of a shed so yeah that's yeah so we'll just get that verified and then but my partner's coming out now so like can I hand you my receip just just let me get someone else here and then I can and then sir would you be okay can you open your door for me they right there sir stay right there you have any weapons or anything near you no nothing no guns no knives okay just keep see that little bar right there just pulls your hands right up there sir yeah do you have your uh driver's license on you um I have a it's an orl I just recently dropped my son off with his dad so I went to the store to get shopping and then heading home to my other kids at home okay yeah do you understand why you're being detained at this time I do not I don't okay it's for a theft investigation from Walmart so right now this is a orary detainment we're just working through to find out what we have okay okay we did buy some stuff we you know scann on the phone and PID the checkout or what okay well we will again that's why you're being detained I like to be a straight shooter by the way we all got body cams on audio and Visually being recorded so all of our behavior and all of our statements and commands to you are being recorded okay okay would you like me to get my light my registration out the that's okay we can check the bin and the bin will verify what it should say it on the registration yeah it's okay she can pull it up right doesn't roll down there's no air flow whatsoever just with one window okay so you guys uh J can I grab the receipt from you so you guys purchased everything on here and do you know why someone would call in a that about you I mean because well I was doing the scan ago so you scan the item and then you put them in the bag and then you go to the kiosk and you scan the kiosk so you don't scan at the register at all oh you scan while you're going through the store so I say it's a scan go oh yeah yeah the guy at the uh the yeah when we're walking out the guy the checkout guy he's marked us and everything's looked at our cart and everything so yeah so yeah that's what it was I mean it looks odd because we're putting things in a in a bag uhhuh while we're going to the store but we're scanning as we go and can I grab my phone show you I'll just let you wait 1 minute and then once we get it verified and then can I know it's she Melissa uh what living room yes yeah this a non extra of lot air what you me to call the store no those are the right plates oh I think you said 888 there's a zero on it I don't know at the end oh yeah that's what I said it must have been wrong anyways yeah could you call store please do you need um just to see if they had a theft she said she bought it at the kiosk and it's a citizen that reported so okay yeah so just she's going to call okay sure and then here's dispatch yeah it red your name I don't know why the I think maybe the dispatcher made a mistake that's probably why oh yeah maybe but you said on your phone it says the like kiosk thing yeah you to show me here you go to am go you have to be in the store for it to actually work they start shopping and then you just scan the barcode and then it creates your list and then when like and then do you go to checkout at yeah and then you go to checkout and which I did and you scam the kiosk at the checkout and then you walk out the door and then uh yeah it does it makes everything super fast yeah uh purchase history everything that was on my receipt so strange it might have just been a person that saw you do that but she just has to call the store really quick and just verify and then I'll okay yeah so that yeah that's basically that's all we did was just scanned everything and I gave your driver like right yeah I don't want to Ste it from me that's okay but you have to pay for the service though it's not free service oh so like you go on there is it worth it yeah oh yeah cuz you don't have to cuz you don't have to stand there and wait and scan like while you're picking your item you scan with your phone you put in your C and then as you go and then it tells you how much your total is at the end and then you just go the little kiosk and go yeah and then you're out okay that's good to know yeah cuz I could see how someone could be like they just went out although you had your receipt with you but they're like they just skipped the line you know yeah know exactly and and the guys looked in our car and and and marked us and everything yeah so yeah oh yeah the guy at the door cuz I know there was an lady at the other end and then we went to the other end cuz we were all the way up there we were at the C check out we could have went out that door but it made no sense we're all way at the other end of the parking lot so that's why we that so maybe it looks suspicious to him or something but I mean people aren weird but so you're not licensed right you just have your ID I have an O license an occupational license I can drive for dependent care work rated and stuff like that I pay $100 non recoverable deposit to be able to dve CU I don't have a license CU it's suspended and it I only have it to do those certain things and I like I can't just go driving anywhere and I had my visit with my son today so I dropped him off and then decided to go to the store and then um I was trying to get a job cuz I do these uh audit where you scan items in the store and you get paid for doing it but they didn't have one today so I have it tomorrow I have to do it but um they send you to different stores I'll you oh that's cool yeah um it's good it's extra money so all you have to do is like have a car basically yeah yeah if you have yeah or if you live by you can walk there but um like okay I so like this is It's called The Ice shop you go to avilable shops and um like right now uh so this oh it says like high pain yeah so this one's for like um 76 you go to any of these 76 and you get paid 12 bucks to do it and you request it and then you basically gives you details on what you have to do you do all those for and then based on the company 83 the based on the company based on uh whether or not uh when they pay some pay as you do it some pay like every two weeks some pay every week so it's like a regular paycheck type thing and like um the one that I've been doing that I was hoping to do at that moment was this one no not apartment this one I I was Target for so this is what I'll do so I'll go to start shop and then so it'll tell me so what I do is uh sends you a bunch of like garble you have to click through yeah so like these I would have to find every single one of these items so not everything that they purchased was so they purchased things but they didn't scan everything and so can you show me your receipt one more time where's your receipt yeah so those lights in the back they are on oh they're not like I said sometimes they have glitches and it just doesn't go all the way through oh okay so I mean so for now I'm just going to ask you to step out of the car and then we're going to call the store so for now we just go and step out of the car for me and then face away from me we're just going to hey I need you to call my friend I I really wasn't stealing yeah let me just contact the store first okay am might allowed to do that call her kids for her not right yet were you with with her during the checkout I guess I I was walking around the store kind of listening to music and playing on my phone all right well again you could be an accomplice or be involved in the theft so I'm going to let my partner kind of play it out again right now you're not free to go again you're being detained underneath Reasonable artical Suspicion so you're not free to go you're not in handcuffs right now cuz you're cooperating with me if you fail to cooperate with you handcuffs will come on to show you that you're detained okay can I please call my son like he's at home like how old's your son my son's 12 like I going to be under arrest for theft I'm going to call the store and see if they would like to pursue charges for the theft and if they'd like to pursue charges then we can go from there right so um do while she does it yeah the um the uh the M the GRE the the big the big so in that one yeah the the that no that is a safe way thing about all this stuff so all that should have been scanned in so it's not scanned so it's stuff that was taken but if it's not on there like I said all they have to do look at the footage like I was planning on yes that all these that's no I I paid for all that I think I don't know I'd have to look on the thing this to my knowledge I thought I paid for all of it so that's not all that's the only thing I can say they just want you to be honest the store is pretty good no I I I am like I say I I wasn't planning on stealing anything I swear I scanned everything and I thought it all went through on the on on the on the scanning goat like they can if they check
