Yesterday, my mom put in my put her hands over my mouth and then and I came Oh, wow. She said you're done breathing. She said she hates me. She said she wants to kill me. She said I'm a B word. Stand right there and do not move. Successful parenting requires a lot of good choices. But then, there are some dumb parents who think that their reckless choices and irresponsible parenting would always go unnoticed until cops show up. And I gave him to God. And people are going to tell me I am crazy, but he is real. God told me he's in the lake and a fish swallowed him. And you're actually supposed to go look for him in the bottom of the lake. Here are several moments when cops catch the dumbest parents ever. Starting with Alicia, who turned on the cops the moment she was told her kids had to return to their dad as agreed. Well, you see, if you obstruct and resist us, we're going to place you in handcuffs in front of your kids. And she's going to come back and she's going to call my family at least a dozen times. Get your stuff. >> No, I'm getting half of my My my STUFF FROM THE MILITARY? IT'S ENOUGH. [Applause] ON JUNE THE 30TH, 2023, deputies in Sawyer County, Wisconsin were dispatched to a disturbance call in the town of Edgewater. The report pointed to a child custody dispute involving 35-year-old Alicia Wozniak. But you don't even know the name of their dad? Sit down and talk. Okay. I'm telling you to sit down and talk right now. Dude, you're Yeah, and you're calling and taking the my kids, but you don't even know their dad's name. Maybe I misspoke on the father's name of the caller, but both fathers I spoke to both of Why would you call the dads of my children? They called us. That's why we're here. They called us. I have Yeah, and my lawyer said that I get them until the date that on my phone. My lawyer said I get them until the date that's on my phone. Okay, what's the date on your phone? That doesn't matter right now. The fathers want the children. >> They can't just come and get them. I need my That's like a Isn't that like a civil matter? That's between you and the court. Yeah, I have kid I have kids. >> Stop yelling right now. >> in here and you don't even know the name of the children's dad. >> Sit down. You're scaring my children. You're scaring me coming here telling me you're going to take my kids AND YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW THE NAME OF THE DAD. You can speak up, too, sir, cuz I'm pretty sure you know why we're here. Okay? I I'm calling my lawyer right now. >> You can call your lawyer. I'm calling my lawyer. >> That's fine, but we're going to take the kids Yes, we No, you're not. Kids, do you guys have life jackets? You can call your lawyer while you're in route back to the house, okay? I'm in a I'm in the middle of a fight with Ted. They showed up on a boat. Telling me they're taking the kids and at first they didn't even know But you're my lawyer. I have it in writing that I get them. He said he doesn't It doesn't matter what I showed up in. I have But you told me if I have it It wasn't Ted. You had me Alicia, stop swearing. Tell me what to do. Okay, well, they're going to come with us now and then you can >> going with you now. Okay. Well, you see, if you obstruct and resist us, we're going to place you in handcuffs in front of your children. You don't want that. Alicia, you're going to go in handcuffs. Please, please, I don't want No, Mommy, I don't want to do that, Mommy. You're okay. You're okay. We're not going to do that to her, okay? We're not going to do that to her. Overpowered, outnumbered, and helpless, Alicia finally listened to the deputies. But that didn't mean it was over. Away from the chaos, a concerned person stepped forward to reveal the rocky relationship, the bitter custody fight, just how things spiraled to this breaking point. All right, you guys can have the seats, okay? All right. Something to the left there in that big pocket of trees. Yeah. It's right in between those. Okay. [Music] Not only that, guys stand Yeah, right. I don't think a gamer could hold me up anyway. Guys, you're going to go with me and get ice cream or something? All right. Jump in this rig. Yep, I got mine. Can I sit shotgun? Yeah. [Music] And then we found out all this went down and I'm like, "Oh my God." Okay. Okay. That makes sense. Yeah, I don't care about the verbal agreement that can be changed anytime if this is happening. She said that we have something in writing. She said I'm calling my attorney. Yeah, she called her attorney. And the attorney didn't want nothing to do with that. Back at Alicia's place, she acted like she had the deputies right where she wanted them. And it didn't take long for her reckless mind to start believing she could do anything and twist the law to suit her every whim. I hope they're not coming up here. I don't get to see them again. >> here right now, no. So, you guys Wait, no. You guys were just coming to get their stuff? >> Yep. I thought Greg was coming up here and I would get to say goodbye to my kids. Because of the position >> if you're not letting me say goodbye. Ma'am, if you wouldn't have acted that way on the boat, we would have let you We would have brought them here. We would have done Yeah, go ahead. Okay, is there anything else left in there? I'm not coming in. I just If there's anything else that she wants to bring out with or otherwise we'll get out of here. All right, I'll I'll come back in just a minute and kind of see what's going on, all right? She's yelling and arguing with somebody, but I don't think it's Ted. She might be on the phone, but she So, she It might be him on the phone, but she's screaming at somebody, so I just I don't What do you mean? You got to get out of here, man. Yeah, she's got to go. She's destroying my house. I'm down two TVs and a bunch of She's destroying your house? Yeah. Okay. We got the sparkly glass in the bedroom from when she fell on that shelf and on Has she hit you? Yeah. When When did she hit you? Uh I guess this morning. Rocks in the driveway. She was throwing rocks at you? Uh no, she was using them as weapons. Oh, rocks. Okay. I'd rather not get involved in that this time, man, so be ready for this. Come on, we're not trying to take her anywhere. We just But if there's a problem here, we can't leave you with that either. Does she have somewhere to go? She One of these vehicles hers? Yeah, it's what she left me. She left So, you want her out? Yes. We can get her out of here for you. If If that's what you want, we can have her removed. And she's going to come back and she's going to kill my family at least a dozen times. It's only you need a restraining order to start with. Yeah, hang on. No, she's Yeah, but see, I'm trying to get out of here without a domestic and everybody I talk to says you call in a domestic, it doesn't matter, you're going to get slapped and two years no hunting, nothing. So, and if You get arrested, but if she's I'm sitting on this. But if she's the one hitting you, you're not the one in trouble. You know what I mean? Yeah, I'm still going to do it though. I'm not supposed to >> That's not how it goes anymore, man. That might have been 20 years ago, but that's not how we do it anymore. And if if if you're the victim, then that's what it is. It is. We were just here to get some of her stuff. >> Dad right now. Ted is probably trying to tell me I'm not stable in the house and there's two cops at the door, so they're probably getting ready to take me. That is not what's going on. >> Then I need you guys to go. That's That's not how this is going to go. Go home and walk away. Grab your stuff Just go home like your dad said. I got robbed, guys. Locked in the house. Go. Go where? See what he did. Like your parents said. No. Yes. All right, well, let me grab her. Don't kick my dog. Dad, I'm here. I have my dad. Do not I'm TALKING TO MY DAD FOR A SECOND. And talk. I'm going to stand right here while you do it. Dad. Please let me talk to the officer. He can't hear you. I can hear you, sir. Dad, they almost broke my wrist the other day. The cops almost broke my wrist. There was four of them on me and I weigh 100 lbs. No, you got to calm down after what happened. Because of what you just did, that's not going to happen. >> Because I Because I scurried away and got back from him? >> You were kicking. Please. Good job. It was in my face. Okay. My truck is broken. What Don't you understand that, Dad? The It's leaking gas and it's also leaking oil. Yeah, like how come How come you never help me fix my car when it was broken? I'm not talking about the Lincoln. I'm talking about my Challenger that I couldn't drive to get to my appointments. Make arrangements to get the rest of your stuff to you. >> and I go through everything together and you guys just Damn it. >> Because we don't have all night to do that. You're going to have to make other arrangements if you have that much stuff. So, your options are you get what you need and go or we're going to take you. At this point, Alicia knew that there was no logical way to get what she wanted. So, she went ahead and pulled the next dumb move she could think of. Here, come on. I'll show you where >> I'm not worried about it. Get your stuff. >> No, I'm getting half of my You're not taking it with you. Well, if we're It's not Actually, technically, it's not mine though, so It It doesn't matter whose it is. You can't legally possess it. Right. After all was said and done, she was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, domestic battery, resisting an officer, and disorderly conduct. While Alicia threw more fits than a top bunk, she was nothing next to this parent. Her own kid reported her. And when the lies didn't work, she went feral, going straight for the officer's privates. She said she doesn't love me. She said she hates me. She said she wants to me. She said I'm a B word. She [ __ ] slammed me. Because you were trying to grab my genitals. That's why. Get in the car. Stand right there and do not move. On October the 27th, 2024, officers were called to a home after a child reported that her own mother had been unfriendly to her, throwing insults and even saying that she wanted to hurt her. Can you come out here and talk to us real quick? Come out here real quick. Come here. Come outside and talk to me real quick. Hey, there's a child asking for help. I'm here to help this child. [Music] You said another officer was here. When were they here? Yesterday. Okay, what were they What were they here for? Like a little bit I know I'm short. My big girl I They were here for a Who? After securing him, the officers turned to his family asking what had really prompted the call. What they discovered carried nothing but grief and agony. Tina, you okay? Yeah. All right. I I'm I'm not upset that he's going. I'm very grateful. But he's going to get a release and come right back to us. It's not going to do us no good. He just holds in her holds Look at all these fire balls. And she does And finally because because he keeps stealing And my daughter is a violently innocent and he raised his voice and she just snitched him out to me and called 911 so he doesn't know that I did it because I can't can't get by myself long enough just to get him to go cuz I can't stand the verbal abuse and him breaking everything every time I blink. Yeah. You know, you're you're a little jazz dog. I guarantee it. And I will press charges on this mother [ __ ] We have one son together, but I have four other children. All my children are biracial. Those four. And I'm so tired of all the time recently hearing nick this and nick that. And And because I went and I didn't ask him for permission to buy that Jeep 2 and 1/2 3 years ago that I get I get I have to hear about that all the time. And I co- and I bought I got a got a loan and for my oldest son for his truck. And And like he's in here trying to slamming everything and going on and carrying on because I bought my or he thinks I'm a co-sign. Like co-sign of a joke. And what if he wants something? He should I should be able to co-sign for him. Oh, I hope they let you out cuz I'll let my [ __ ] dog out on you, too. And my dog is going to [ __ ] kill you. Trust me. They can't do [ __ ] to me. He fixes holes when he scotch tapes them and [ __ ] I can't even use my stove because he flung [ __ ] across the kitchen a couple weeks ago and shattered the glass of the stove. Okay. All right. Most we're going to do is take him to the house. She's right. The most we're going to be able to take him for is just disturbing the peace. Then he's just going to get out. Yeah. Yeah. There he goes. Yeah. Let me go. No. I'm done. You ain't going to want this [ __ ] lawsuit cuz y'all going to get a lawsuit. Trust me. Slam my [ __ ] face. Walked in my house with no warrant. Threatened to tase me. Let's see how that [ __ ] holds up in court. Eventually, the officers met his daughter, the one who had made the call in the first place. Her request sounded simple enough, but it left them deep in thought weighing the damage this man had already done to his own home. I feel like I can't I feel like I can't be out here when he's not here cuz when he's not here and I'm out here, I can just like sit here and chill with my mom and everyone else and I'm I'm fine. But as soon when he's here, I feel like I can't do that cuz he he pesters me or bothers me or yells at me for something. I can just stay in my room the entire time. Okay. So, what do you What do you want done? What What do you want to happen here? I want I want to know how I can get him to just to be out of here for good. Okay. Has anybody talked to you about getting a like an emergency restraining order or order of protection or anything? No. Okay. I don't even know anything about those. Okay. So, what I'm going to recommend is uh go up to the Washington County Courthouse in Nashville, okay? Go meet with uh usually the circuit clerk or somebody they have They have an advocate there who can help you get the papers filed. But essentially, you you fill out the form. It goes to the judge and you tell the judge, "Hey, this is why This is what's going on." You know, you tell them the history. >> There's a grand jury last The beginning of this month, they were going to keep him with mental court. But they just gave him another birthday and extended it all the way out to June. [Music] All right, boss man. Slide out. You good? All these guys for me? [ __ ] Eventually, he was charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest. Still on the trail of the dumbest parents ever, meet this awful mother who couldn't be trusted with her own 10-month-old newborn. And every time she came around, she stirred up nothing but trouble. She always says things like that. You You You push me. You hurt me. Nobody's doing anything to her. You said that he grabbed you by the back. I'm fine. I don't see any marks on you, okay? He made plans for Christmas. He gave me no option but to come down here if I wanted to see my 10-month-old son and spend Christmas with him. On December the 24th, 2024, officers were called out to a home after a man reported trouble with his child's mother. She had come by to see their son for Christmas, but after drinking, things turned physical. Are you up there? I am. I'll come down to you. Oh, all right. What seems to be going on? >> want to have my Christmas. Well, this is actually not his girl friend. It's his baby mama. Uh-huh. Um he came home, brought the baby and her because he did not want to keep her from having Christmas with the baby. Uh-huh. She's been in trouble time after time after time. She's been in jail. She's been drinking. Uh-huh. And of course when she drinks, she gets crazy and becomes physical. Has there been assault? So, she had my phone recording and she jammed my thumb. She tried to get my phone. She jammed my thumb. I got up. She ran at me. And I grabbed her and threw her on the bed. She's like, "Oh, you choked me." I was like, "Bitch, I got a video and there's no not a single mark on her neck." And I literally was It was It was get away from me. Uh-huh. Um she she has assaulted me seven times before this. I have multiple pictures of me like torn up. So, you know, I'm I'm not just saying And she does this when she's drinking. Yeah. And I told them no alcohol in my house. Well, I don't see any marks. Yes, there is. I don't see any marks. >> He choked me and threw me. He charged at me? >> I didn't want to be here. I did not >> you here, Vanessa. I don't want to be here. >> want to be here. There's There's absolutely no marks. No marks. Yes, there is. I don't see any marks. He choked me. What? She always says things like that. You You You push me. You hurt me. Nobody's doing anything to her. He choked her, didn't he? He choked her. No, but I'm not supposed to sleep And I asked her to come down and say something. She wouldn't. Leave me alone. Is she inside? But yeah. >> Leave me alone. I'm guessing that kicking down here went in there with my Did you with my granddaughter. He put his hands around my neck. Was this in front of the baby or anything? No. No. I think the baby was asleep. Okay. I actually left earlier because he was raising so much hell. After she started drinking, I was like, "You know what? I'm just going to get out of here for a while." And I just got back. As soon as I got back because I What is the temperature? I didn't kick you out. You did. Are you sitting right here right now? Hold on. Hold on. Now we're on video, so So, you want to charge her? I said all I care Fair enough. I said all I care I'll go with you to the show where I want. Do you want to charge her or anything? What did you do back So, I don't know if my mom was trespassing. See, that's So, that's her her attacking me. I said for what? She had made a statement before when she did. All I care is I'll go with you to the show where I want. What did you do back What? I said, "Dude, you want to charge her? So, we can get her out of here tonight." I don't know. Give me a minute. Let me see what she can wear. Mom, is that her in here? She in this room? I heard something in this room. Oh, no. There's two people sleeping in there. What? Hey, Vanessa didn't come in there, did she? All right. Sorry. She She has bipolar one, so she goes into these manic depressive fits. The officer tried to hear her side of the story, hoping to understand how things could have spiraled this far. But, the moment he started talking to Vanessa, he walked straight into chaos. Do you want to talk, Vanessa? That's who this is? Do you want to talk? Were you invited over here? To this To this house? The The police officer's right here. There's dogs. Bring them down. I'll let them out. Yes, officer. I'm just trying to figure out what's going on. He grabbed me by the throat, threw me on the bed. Of course, he has no video of that. So, I came down here by his brother. Um his brother allowed me to stay down here and just lay on his couch and go to sleep to get away from him. That's it. I don't want any problems. Well, I'm sorry. I don't want to knock the elbow off. [ __ ] They're fine. Well, this is This is my house. So, I'm That's why I'm helping her. Okay. So, >> Even though that door's sealed, it's one residence. So, how How did you get here in the first place? Because of him. The only way I can be with my 10-month-old son is because of plans he made without asking me. I'm just here to be with my baby. That's it. Okay. And have you been drinking tonight? No, sir. I'm upset. I have anxiety. Here he goes again, forcing me to do this. I carried her out there. That's what happened. I'm asking to just be left alone. I'm literally for Christmas doing what he wants, abiding by his rules, just to be with my son. I said I'm seeing some Seeing some videos that he's had and Yeah, but he doesn't show you all of them. That's what he does. He shows clips. Well, you said that he grabbed you by the throat. Okay. I don't see any marks on you. Okay. But, one of the videos is clearly of you assaulting him. That's what he shows. That's what he does every time. Well, I'm just trying to figure out the the whole picture. That's why I'm here is to talk with both parties. Arrest me if you want. He only shows what he wants to. He does He never tells the full truth. So, I told him I didn't grab you and threw you on the bed as you charged at me. I absolutely don't have that. >> I didn't charge at you, Dan. Come on. You're ridiculous. No, I wouldn't have audio, but you kept throwing it through it. >> Yeah, of course you don't have audio. Of course. Right? Yeah. Cuz you threw my phone. Okay. >> on there. Whatever you want to do. But, you want to take me out of here, please. I'm not going to argue. I told you what happened. What do you want? Well, I came to talk to both of y'all. It's up to him if he wants to charge you or not. Or tomorrow. Hey, right. He's Mom His mom is going to stick up for her son, of course. Well, is there anywhere you can go tonight? I'm only I live hours away. I'm only down here because he made plans for Christmas. Um he gave me no option but to come down here if I wanted to see my 10-month-old son and spend Christmas with him. And why do I have custody of You don't. Is there any court order condition? Pretrial condition? Do you have any of that paperwork? Unfortunately, no. I have to go to court. It's for whatever reason. What day is it? >> On the 3rd. When do you have Um Uh no. Not the 3rd. I have all of it at home. How come you didn't bring it? I can't keep up with all of your your court dates. I really can't. Yes, to stay down here. His brother allowed me to stay down here, watch TV, and just go to sleep. As I told you, I told her to come down here and sleep and go down down here and sleep down here on the couch. Big humongous couch over there that's laying room for Did you pee in the trash can over there, Vanessa? Chris Wallace said you were peeing in the trash can. I just want to lay down somewhere and sleep it off. And that's So, the worst thing that's going to happen is you're going I'll leave it up to you all. Whatever you want me to do. I'd say it's clear video evidence of an assault. So, you're going to be >> portion he wants to show. That's what he does. I I literally explained to him exactly what happened. Um the only Whatever you want to tell. That's what you do. I'm allowed to stay down here. I just like to watch TV and get the hell away from you. All I wanted Please stop. I am talking. Stop. This is my house. If you want to stay here, fine. Go in there and lie down and leave the rest of us alone. That's what I was doing. Okay. That works with you all. Yep, as long as she stays over here. But, I'd like to see my 10-month-old son. >> right now. Gradually, the conversation started to show the truth. She couldn't be trusted with her own 10-month-old baby. Although her lifestyle told part of the story, that wasn't all of it. Hey, Dan told me tomorrow and Christmas Day I'm I can't see my son. If you go to jail, you can't. Even with the alcohol in her system, it was clear that every petty move that came next was deliberate and calculated. [Music] That's what You said you had a video, too. We'll watch it. >> I do. Okay. Step back over there. I'm going to look in here to see if we can find you a jacket so you can put your jacket on. I don't understand why I had to get arrested before I got my stuff. I literally keep showing the police officers all I kept asking for was my stuff. So, again, Kathy, tell me, why did the police have to get involved before I got my stuff? Why? Because >> I just wanted my stuff. I have an appointment at 9:00 a.m. Dan told me step outside, and what happened last time I did? He locked me out. Why I needed my stuff. I don't trust you. Why couldn't you just bring my stuff down? You just wanted to see me get arrested. Is this your jacket? Yes. Okay. Actually, you open up me. Hold on. Can you check my purse for my car keys cuz he stole them before. So, these are my medications. Can I bring them with me? >> Yes. You're going to bring all this. Is that it? I really just wanted my stuff. Hey, you got what you want. You got my kid. Congratulations, Dan. I literally just want my stuff. I'll get these. I hope Daniel loves I just want everything in my bag. I don't know if you want to go ahead and take her to the office. Congratulations. Tell my son you're both of me. Hang on. Hang on. Hang on. Put it Yeah. Unfortunately, state of Virginia uh the law enforcement come before mid-welfare, so I know how this works and how they do a charge. I know the charge. >> Well, the only time it's going to be the mid-welfare is if she says she's been assaulted and not hurt at all. That's the only time they do anything. Yeah, we know. Which is wild. It's It's It makes no sense. That's why I can't completely understand. It's a messed up system. This gets sent to our domestic violence officer, so he'll most likely be in contact with you whenever he gets back, which he's going to be out of the office until like the 27th. I will be out of here. I don't know how this is going to work. So, I'll just talk to you over the phone. No, like with with her, cuz she She's worried about tomorrow. Uh so, while she has a license, it's a restricted license uh due to a DUI, so she can't rent a car and drive home. I don't know. I'm telling you she can't rent a car and drive home cuz she has to have a breathalyzer. Well, and She's going to have to figure that out. Actions bring consequences. [Music] I was at the magistrate just 5 days ago uh back home talked to him, and he's like, "She sounds incredibly manipulative. It sounds like you've done a lot to help her and tried to do everything you could." He's like, "You shouldn't feel bad anymore cuz he's like, "You've done everything you can." Like still point. The only time they can get help is when they want to get it themselves. Thank you again for coming out. You are all welcome. In the end, she was charged with violation of a protective order and simple assault. While Vanessa was an unrepentant bad parent, she had nothing on Ruth Miller, a mother who drowned her son and husband in the lake because she wanted to send them to God. How old is your son that's in the lake? He's at the bottom of the lake in a He's in a fish. >> You're saying This one fell off. Because this is This is a miracle from God. You are to trust. It's all about trust. It's hard because he does things in mysterious ways. On August the 23rd, 2025 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, the Miller family pulled up at Atwood Lake for what was supposed to be a weekend getaway. But Ruth and Marcus Miller, her husband, claimed God spoke to them. At the dock, they jumped into the lake as part of some twisted test of faith. Then came Ruth's darkest move. She strapped her 4-year-old son, Vincent, onto a golf cart and drove it straight into the water. Moments later, she tried the same with her three teenagers. The cart flipped. This time, the teens escaped. That chaos caught the eyes of bystanders, and soon, law enforcement. I gave him to God. You gave him to God? Yes. What do you mean by that? I put him in the lake, and I gave him to God. And people are going to tell me I am crazy, but he is real. And he loves you. He really does love you. He loves you. And I doubted his heaven. I doubted him so many times. But I am to tell you he is coming soon. He is coming very soon. Prepare your hearts. The end is close. And I'm for sure supposed to tell you that he does love you. Okay? Ma'am, who'd you Can you explain to me what happened? Who'd you throw in the water? I I gave my son to God. Your son? Yes. >> Where's your husband? He went for a walk this morning. And you haven't seen him since? >> ever come back, and we went to the boat, and his clothes were there. And God told me he's in the lake, and a fish swallowed him. And you're actually supposed to go look for him in the bottom of the You will find the fish and you will find my husband and then you will believe. But you of little faith that do not believe before seeing. Okay. So, send people down to the bottom of the lake looking for a fish. My husband is there. How old is your son that's in the lake? Four. He's sweet. I love him. I gave him Okay. 7940 central. We're out with the mother. She is advising that she threw her 4-year-old son in the lake to give him to God. The Miller family weekend getaway already had a sinister ring to it, but Ruth Miller's words were alarming. Her statement sounded disturbing, dumb, and downright delusional. As officers asked more questions, it became clearer that dumb and delusional didn't even scratch the surface of what was going on inside her head. And then he came back to me. My husband and I both thought of him. And he came he came back to I need to know where your husband is at. He's at the bottom of the lake in a fish. He's in a fish. There's no fish large enough on an island to swallow your husband. He's at the bottom of the lake in a fish. Okay. I thought I thought your husband had went to went for a walk. Yeah, and then we came to the boat and then his clothes were laying in the boat. Okay. Tan pants and cream shirt and flip flops. Do you have a cell phone? Uh it's in the camper. It's in the camper. Where is your camper at? Uh I think it's Area three? I think so. Yeah. It's like a tanish camper. It's a tanish camper. You don't know what lot number it is? No. But we really need to verify your husband's still with us. Oh, okay. Okay. Well, he's actually just take him take go out in the bottom of the lake. Well, I can't go in the bottom of the lake. So, if I we need >> dive. Yeah, we're going to have to call divers in to go to the bottom of the lake. Please do. And and you're saying >> best ones there are because this is this is a miracle from God and you will see. You will see. You sent your 4-year-old sons down there, too? He's with God. Where is his body at? I don't know. Where did you throw him in the water at? Off of the dock that called me. Where the bike was today? >> Where the boat was? Yeah, where the boat was. Okay. I know. When are we supposed to be ones to come out here? I think there was one. Did anybody have a water bottle out here? We can get you water. We can bring her out here and get her water. Please. What's up? Thank you. We're uh right now we're going to walk up to the squad, okay? What we're going to do. Okay. We'll walk up with you in the back of the squad. >> You will find my husband. Okay, but you're going to sit down in the back of the squad for us, okay? Can I Can I actually just sit with my children and have water? >> can bring your children over. I would love to have my children in the squad in the squad over here. Well, they're going to We'll bring them over in a minute. Let me go check the out. Yeah, we're going to get it. Kyle, want you to go get you one. You guys send a dive team over that way, then. At this point, the line between crazy and dumb had never been thinner. Every word out of her mouth sounded like it came from a distraught mind. She still had no concrete answers about her husband, and then came the bizarre talk big fish waiting for scuba divers hitting the lake floor and other ramblings that made no sense at all. But Ruth wasn't done just yet. What what Okay. Okay. Okay. God, please show this woman that it is true what I'm telling. People are doubting. And it's getting harder for me to stay strong. Show them that that it is true what I'm telling. That there is a fish in the bottom of the My husband. He's I'd rather take him to sit with my children and let them be free. And you will be free. And it's You guys just want to You guys want to bring her over to that one? Yeah, we'll take her there. >> Okay. So, we can get closer to the rest of everybody else. Here, have a cup of tea right here. We'll go get your children as soon as they're done. No, I want to go get them. Right here. What are the What are the kids saying now? They're I don't know if they if they've asked if their little brother and dad are not. Okay. That's it. At this point. I used to We doubted, too, but they are true. They are true. And it's it's to me. I can't tell you everything. Do you remember when Jesus was on the cross? Yeah, I remember. And he put his arms out and he said, "Forgive them, for they know not what they do." >> that already. Yes. They didn't know. They didn't know. Okay. All right. You are to trust. It's all about trust. It's hard because he does things in mysterious ways. And it's hard cuz we want to just believe our earthly ways. It's hard. Part of you happy. And part of you happy. Yes. Go ahead. A search crew later found little Vincent's remains at the bottom of the lake close to the dock where it all began. By the next day, Marcus's body was also pulled from the water. After the dust settled, Ruth Miller was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation, but the system didn't stop there. She was charged with aggravated murder, felonious assault, domestic violence, and endangerment. The next careless parent took things to a whole new level of dumb. He left his son abandoned in a locked overheated car with a loaded firearm inside. So, you were just walking past the car. He was already out of the car. And what did he say to you after that? He said, "Please please help me. I can't find my dad." And he was in your car for a long time, he said. Talking like hour or 30 minutes. 30 minutes. It's 80° outside right now. And the iPad is I mean, what's the What's the problem then? You left him in the car. >> going to be charged These are the circumstances where he could have passed out in the car. On May the 25th, 2024, officers in Beachwood, Ohio received a 911 call from a concerned lady stating that she had witnessed a crying child locked inside a car in the parking lot of Beachwood Place Mall. For context, it was an extremely hot day outside with temperatures reaching up to 119° Fahrenheit. When officers arrived on the scene, they met with a few witnesses and quickly realized the culprit of the situation was one of the most irresponsible dads they would ever encounter. And uh windows are down. I guess I'd have to learn about it. Prosecutor said but I mean, he had enough. He got out of the car. He did this 9 Yeah. 253. That's 23. Tell me and her what happened to the car. If there are witnesses that saw it or what. Well, I'm going to grab I'm going to grab their info. [Music] Yeah. See, hello. So, this little boy came up to you. You guys were over here or were you down by his car? >> walking at like past his car past their car. Okay. And then he got out of the car. Yeah, he was already out of it. >> Oh. The door was open. But he must have just gotten out of the car. Yeah. Okay. So, he got out at 1412. The walk-in doctor's office. So, what time did you First time. Just I mean, Yep. 10 minutes. Pulled in at 1412. Perfect. Okay, so then I'm just going to run it by. So, you were just walking past the car. He was already out of the car. And what did he say to you after that? He just said, "Please please help me. I can't find my dad." Okay. And then I said, "How long have you been sitting there?" And he's like, "Since noon." Okay. Yeah. Okay. Just from the witness statements, the officers knew that the situation was far more messed up than they had initially anticipated. Right at that moment, they turned to the poor innocent child not realizing his negligent and obviously dumb father was lurking close by. It was really hot in there, right? It is cold out. What's going on, man? I want to go grab this. You got to grab what? I don't want to show it in front of her. You what? >> want to show it in front of her. Okay, that's fine. I'm here. Buddy, you have you have you have you seen the car real quick? So, he was in your car for a long time, he said. hour or 30 minutes. 30 minutes. It's 80° outside right now. The car's not on. I know I'm not lying. So, you you know, I'm just trying to show you what I bought. Not a big deal. Okay. I hear you. Dude, this None of this is acceptable. They said you got out of the car at two What was it? 2:12 and it is They they have 3:30 right now. Do you have his mom's number? His His phone number is in the in the iPad. You left him in a car. You're likely going to be charged with Are you? Yes. You cannot leave a child in a car. It wasn't quick. Listen. Listen. Listen to me. It wasn't quick. It wasn't quick. The windows are open an inch. And it's already in the It's so hot in that car now. I'm not saying you're not. I'm just saying this is a bad day. I I I hear you. Yeah, he can he can sit down. They saw you get out of the car at 2:12. It is 3:30 right now. An hour. I don't Do you see the circumstances where he could have passed out in the car? And you said he was sleeping, right? Mhm. Yeah. Let's go over this. He's going to stand by the door with him. Instead of acknowledging the grave mistake he made, the dad, identified as Garfield Heights, tried his best to deflect blame. Although he claims that he was only away for about 30 minutes, evidence showed that he had locked his child in the vehicle for way longer than that. Fortunately, these officers were more of a parental figure to the young boy than the father himself. This is not the circumstance where we can make a decision like this. This is going through our bosses. We we have to verify everything. We we have to contact mom. No choice. What's the What's the What's So, are you carrying right now? Okay. No, that's fine. I know. I hear you. I hear you. Again, we don't we don't know where we're at right now. We got to contact the He's coming down here. He's on his way here now. Okay, he's coming down. That's fine. That's fine. We haven't made any phone calls yet. Do you have Do you have mom's number? Your supervisor we need to make contact with. No. No. No. Listen, I don't know. You feel how hot it is just standing right here. You know what I mean? Right. So, we're We got to hang out right here. My boss is coming down. We're going to explain everything to him. Or more than likely we're going to run this past our prosecutor. Okay? Yeah. So, I came to the mall to run in He didn't want to stay in the car. Somebody He got out of the car. It's too It's so hot in there. Found a random adult. And they called us. I was making a mall run. He wanted to stay in the car. He got out. Somebody contacted the police. He got out of the car. He got out of the car. He started crying. So, that's my bad. So, I'm telling them that I ain't no child endangerer. This is This is Lark. This is Officer Marcella of the Beach Police Department. Listen, we're not saying you're a bad dad. But this is a choice that was made right now. And we're we're dealing with that choice that was made right now. Okay? Okay. I hear you. Okay. At the jail? Okay. Yeah. I hear you. I hear you. Yeah. He's going to come over here. He's going to come over here. I know you don't want to talk in front of your son. I get that. If Garfield had taken one moment to care about his son's well-being, he wouldn't be in this predicament right now. He was like every dumb parent who realized the consequences of their actions a little too late. So, real real quick, let me just explain to him what we know, and then you'll be able to Okay. There's a white Infiniti hatchback right here. You can see it sticking out. That's where the child was. Okay. He got out of the car and just waved down a woman that was walking by. Said, "I'm looking for my dad. I've been in here a long time." That's what he said. They checked the cameras. He got out He parked at 1412, got out of the car, walked in. I don't I got to look and see what time we got the call. How long ago was that? It's about 10 minutes ago or so. Yeah. So, the car is locked now. I don't know if it locked when he jumped out of it. The windows are down about yay. And it's not up. So, and he's 9 years old. So, that's where we're at right now. So, yeah. He's Yeah, go ahead. Okay. Okay. [Music] So, it's What's in the car? So, what? Where Where are you Where are you working? For the sheriff's office? You're a deputy or corrections? Yeah. I I mean I know, but the problem the problem that we we're having is it's just the the time frame of everything. It's just The kid got out of the car and he's concerned, you He's okay. He's in the back seat. He's just sitting right there in my car. So, I'm I'm not going to deny it. All right. So, I hear what you're saying. All right. But we just we just got to deal with the decision that was made. You see what I'm saying? with these clothes. All right. Did he Did he say anything? to me now. He said he had no way to communicate. He tried to text him, but he didn't know he was on Wi-Fi. Oh, yeah. He had to have it. He said he was in there for a long period of time. He was getting really scared. I mean, he's saying everything that's I mean, I would think 9 is But not if he's acting certain of scary You know what I'm saying? Yeah. And And I mean, he was in there for an hour. And the dad said he was going to go to sleep. So, if you call the He said he was in the car for a long Yeah, there's nothing we can do. We can't treat him differently than the correctional officer. No, I know. I'm not worried about that. I'm just So, we're going to have you take him back. We'll do the report stuff. We'll be here to turn him over to mom. And you can deal with that with the charges and stuff. Like I'll have him do the report. Do the report. I'll do the charges. That's fine. I'm going to get him a water. I'll have you do um It's actually painful watching how many times Garfield showed the ring as an excuse, desperately trying to gain sympathy despite almost being the reason for his kid's demise. But if it was sympathy he was looking for, it was not looking like he was getting any of it from the officers. Um You got everything in this bag? You're going to be coming back with us. Yeah. All right, man. Yeah, I'm I'm serious. Yeah. So, here. Yeah, we we We have these all the time. We don't treat anybody differently based on the circumstances. This is what you're driving back here. We The one that's mom's? Yeah, mom's going to come here. Listen. Listen. No. So, So, listen. So, you'll get plenty of phone calls get back. You have the right to remain silent or refuse to answer questions. If you do make a statement, you may stop at any time. Any statement you do make can be used against you in a court of law. Before making any statement or at any time thereafter, you have the constitutional right to the aid of an attorney and to have an attorney with you during questioning now or in the future. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you before any questioning if you wish. Do you understand your rights? Yeah. All right. All right. Your Your weapon's in your car, right? I'm going to I got to go get everything out of your pockets. All right, man. That white one over It was locked, so Let's get the keys and everything. Here, I'm going to put everything in your bag. All this stuff cuz you can't have it in the back seat. [Music] Spread your legs for me. I have no idea. Yeah, I'm not sure. All right. Go ahead and have a seat. Squat your head getting in, okay? [Music] I got This is policy. I got to put the seat belt And everything I'm doing You You know what's going on. Everything right now is policy and procedure. Take him over to his his car so we can get that out of the car. Thank you. Yeah, they're right. They're in here. Yeah. Yep. Here. I don't know. I think it's the Infiniti. Yeah, I'll drive over there. But despite all of his misdemeanors stacked against him, the irresponsible dad still tried to wiggle his way out of accountability. But it was already too late. Actions like his had severe consequences, and he was not going to escape his. All right. Yeah, he's got to run by everything that happened here. All right. Now, I hear you. Listen, I I don't I'm not here to judge. I'm not judging. I'm I just this is what we got to do right now, and we got to deal with that decision that was made. That's all. All right, and we have your permission to go in the car and get that. Okay. Okay. It was in the Yeah, there it is. You got audio or video on it? Oh, yeah. Not one in the chamber. Well, I mean, yeah, the magazine is, but there was not one in the chamber. Yep. Okay. I'll relay all this to uh Okay. It was later revealed Garfield also had a loaded gun inside of his vehicle during the time his son was stranded inside, only increasing the hazard of the situation. In the end, Garfield was arrested for endangerment and weapon possession. Garfield was a terrible excuse for a parent, but paled in comparison to this father who mercilessly abused his own daughter and couldn't deal with the consequences that came rushing his way. Scratches on your face? Lip? He was hitting you and stuff like that. She has a mouth. She disrespects me. You okay? He told us he finds her mouth. If somebody say my daughter say my name. It wasn't me. It wasn't me. You're making your daughter freak out. On September the 11th, 2022, a terrified 15-year-old girl called the police on her own father reporting horrifying details of the abuse she had suffered at the hands of the vile and wicked man. Apparently, the dad had choked her, pulled her hair, and nearly ended her life during a disagreement. But when officers arrived at the scene, it wasn't her they encountered first. It was a neighbor with a disturbing story to tell. Hi there. What's going on? Um It's my little friend. She's in my car. I locked her in my car. Okay. She called her Okay. Her dad Uh Her dad did what? He hit me. He said like he hurt and um he left bite marks on her cheek. She has scars all up here and on her back, on her leg. She's terrified. How How old is she? 15. 15? Okay. Where is he at? He's in the bathroom, but he told me he was not leaving my house. I've been trying I've been trying to get him to calm down. When did So, when did that happen? When did that Um yesterday morning, I believe. In the wee hours of the morning. So, she called? Yeah. He said she He did everything everything she just said. He called everything he just said. Again and again. Over what? Because she wanted to come back home. He got He got people coming back and forth, you know, that try to take over this place. And like I said, this is not a home. You know what I mean? You got a kid here. You can't You can't have people running in What's What happened to Marion? Yeah. Scared? Show them. You called. You're scared. You talk to them. These people need to talk to you. She's having anxiety. She don't want to be here with him. She's terrified to go in the house. When When did this happen? Who was the mayor of this place? Where did it happen at? He kept her out at the Marathon and Michelle told me that. Like 4 hours. And I kept on running back here, running back here. Now, I'm not her mom, but that's still my child, you know? It was her mom? Yeah, I trust you. Yeah. She called terrified. But I mean, you you called. You got to talk to them. You got to show them. Show them. Cuz that's the only way we're going to get this resolved. If that's really what how you feel and that's the truth, then you got to speak up. Silence is Silence is never heard. The officers were already unsettled when they saw the shaken girl, but once she started talking, details of her nightmare left the officers speechless. When did it happen? Yesterday? The night before last? Here? Where? You guys in a car? What How What? Did he grab you by your what? By your braids? Is that Because you were trying to get out of the car? Why didn't you call the police after? Couldn't? This the first time you can call? Yeah, I understand. Where were you staying before? You was You've been staying here since our last time I seen you here? Yeah. What kind of injuries do you have? That? Scratches on your face? Lip? He was hitting you and stuff like that? You have something on your chest as well? Is that your dad's brother? I meant sister. Oh, no. Okay. Okay. As if her visible wounds weren't horrifying enough, the neighbor stepped in with even more chilling revelations, ones that would turn this case into something far, far worse. Did he tell you what he did to her? Oh, yeah. But what did he tell you? >> me that he done And he done that. He said he done that. Took her out of here. I said he done that, took her out of here. He's like, "Well, not took her out not all the way, but pretty damn near." I was like, "Yeah. All right. All right." Choked her. Uh smashed her head off. You know? He actually verbally admitted it to me just now. I said, "So, if you would have took her out, how would you have felt? Because you want her so much now. If you take her out, how would you feel?" Cuz I I love her. You know? I love her. I'm like the future hurt. But one person who loved her never hurt her. So, now she doesn't trust me anymore. She's so terrified to go in the house. All he thought was hurt her and home. Cuz she's so terrified of home. He was threatening me this morning if I didn't bring her back this morning, he was going to have me arrested. I said, "How can I get arrested? You willingly openly gave her to me yesterday." Right. You brought her to me. About What time did you bring her to you yesterday? Um like 3:00, 4:00. It was after noon. Afternoon? What did he say when you dropped her off? He said, "Keep her. Take her home. Protect her. Wherever I go, if I have to go somewhere, take her with me. Don't leave her alone. You don't trust nobody with her but me." Did she show you injuries? Significant? Did she get [ __ ] up nice with bruises right here, on her leg, scratch on her A bite mark. Face? On her lip? Yeah, he had a bite mark on her. And she was trying to show me something on her chest, but she didn't. Okay. With overwhelming evidence in hand, the officers decided to pay the 15-year-old's father a much-needed visit. They already knew the interaction they were about to have with Satan's spawn anything but normal. Hi there. You want to know what's going on? Hi there. You want to know what's going on? Yes. All right. Sit down. Sit it out. Okay, so we don't we argue and there's something You know what I'm saying? She has a mouth. She disrespects me. I had some people here that had no business here. I I've been told to leave. She wanted to come home. I said, "No, you're not coming home." Now, what's disturbing her is that y'all going to get her and she's scared I'm going to jail. Now, I don't know cuz I started to call y'all earlier. She said this is she hasn't been home the entire night. You feel me? I dropped her off with my own girl right there. Come to find out she with the people that I put out my house. Now, whatever happened between last night and her getting her getting linking back up with them this morning, I have no clue. Let's talk about the night before. Over by the Marathon. The two of you in your vehicle. We was arguing in the vehicle because listen, she wanted to come home. All right. So, you're telling me what she's not going to do or what she is going to do. She got out of the vehicle. I grabbed her by her shirt. Me and my child get back in the car. Get back in the vehicle and we drove off and went behind Krogers. That was behind what? What's behind what? Krogers. You know what Krogers is? No, not It's not directly behind Krogers, but you go up 301. Make a left on University. And that first >> Well, look. Look. We can We can just be totally honest. Her story was a little bit more than you just put her in the car. No. And that's the real reason why we're here. No no no other [Music] I don't myself, but what I do is you going to sit down and do what I tell you to do because now you're you're you're openly being disrespectful, bro. Do you understand what I'm saying? I understand that, but we really focusing on the physical part of it. Okay. >> So you pulled her in the car, then what?
