The baby's like right in your arm. On May 2nd, 2024, officers responded to an apartment following a report of a three-year-old child ingesting elicit substances provided by the mother. >> A little bit more little bit more um yeah extreme. >> So I run out. I see her like pounding on her chest and I'm like what? What's going on? She's like I think she choked on something. I said okay well I got her to give her to me and I started pounding on her back and then pounding on her chest and summer. Could she have gotten into anything? She said, >> "I don't remember if she said yes or no, but I know the history. I know." So, I just immediately grabbed >> and I gave her windows. Uh maybe in the left nostril. I don't remember which nostril at first. She kind of made a gasp. Um I waited a little bit, gave her the other one in the other nostril. And um well in in the meantime of all that happening, I called 911 and got the operator on the phone and then she walked me through um putting her She's probably >> I'm happy with restraining her. And they wouldn't let me grab it. >> That's right. >> I was checking their I'll grab her a couple of her >> stupid things. I didn't know they were caught. >> Hey, is there >> I wasn't paying attention to what they are. I was just trying to get ready. I don't even have a problem for the hospital. >> Now they're arresting me. >> She like a little toy that she would like to bring with >> I'm going to double lock off your handcuffs on you. Okay. >> No, you guys. Please stop. >> I want to go. >> Please stop. Please. I want to go. >> Go to jail. >> Why? >> Please stop. No, >> you you go high. I'll go low. >> There's nothing in my pants. Oh, stop. I can't breathe. I can't breathe. >> I can't breathe. [Applause] I can't breathe. This isn't fair. I was supposed to go the hospital with my go [Applause] >> trying to make the handcuffs less tight. >> It's too tight. >> What the Get off my head. I'm pregnant. Having a miscarriage, shole. >> Flip onto your stomach then. >> Did you just see that? >> Flip onto your stomach. >> Push onto my bone. >> Flip onto your stomach so they can handcuff. >> I would advise you Knew it. >> I would advise you not to insult me. I'm not on your spine. You are right here. >> It's literally on your head. >> My [ __ ] spine. >> Stop touching me. >> Stop touching me. >> You're under arrest. >> Okay. Well, get off of me. >> Stop moving. >> Ow. Help. Help. >> She's not letting >> Just let her. >> Can you loosen it now? >> No. >> That you're done manhandling me. >> I'll double lock them. >> Don't loosen it. Please. Ow. >> Stop yelling. >> No, it hurts. >> Stop moving. >> Okay, girl. Please loosen the cups. >> You should be. >> And she's fine. >> No, you're done. You're done. You're done. You're done. >> You're fine. >> You don't assault a woman. >> You were assaulted. >> Yeah, you touched me. >> Why you stop? Be quiet. Hear is the least of your worries right now. Be quiet. >> Let go of it. >> Be quiet. >> This hurts. >> Be quiet. >> Adjust them. >> So, can you listen to me? I'm trying to adjust it. >> This is my house till I get to your house >> right now. This is not your house. >> Please be quiet. >> We're in here. >> Please. >> I want to go to the hospital. >> This wasn't supposed to happen like that. >> It is quiet. >> Stop. No. I don't want to go. Stay like that and I'll loosen your handcuffs. Okay. >> No. >> Okay, that's fine, too. >> I'm talking to dog. >> Hey, >> he's jumping on me. >> It's a dog. >> Your dog's adult. >> I'm literally having a miscarriage right now. And you're >> putting me in handcuffs right now. I'm still technically pregnant. That's illegal. >> Like seriously. You want to wait or you want to know? >> Uh, let's Are they clear down there? >> No, they're still >> Let's wait till they're clear. >> Yeah, but what are those? >> Why can't I go to the hospital? Did she already leave? >> Here legally. >> Did she already leave? >> We're already in here. >> Baby, >> can I take some photos, too? >> Yep. >> Don't take photos of my room. Are you serious? Why would you do that? >> For evidence. >> Evidence of what? of child endangerment. >> It's not child endangerment, babe. >> A kid ingested somehow. >> I don't even know if she did. I didn't have any. >> Well, generally when somebody wakes up from taking, it only means that they've been able >> and I thought she was choking on Tums. Do you see the Tums? We were all just napping. >> Yeah. >> Let the hospital figure that out. >> Well, you don't need to hold you. Yeah. >> No, please. You're sweaty. >> No, I'm I'm not sweaty. I'm obviously coughed. >> Stop. Don't touch me. >> Here. No, you're staying here. Figured out. >> No. Why do you want to put your body on me? I'm not doing anything. >> All you need to do is sit here and not get off my body. We want you to stop moving. >> Stop moving. >> If you stop moving and you sit calmly, >> then I'll stop. >> Don't touch me. >> She's like being super squirly and squirming around it. So >> because they're touching me and they're sweaty, I ask them to stop. >> Stay still. >> My room is literally just clean. Now you're trying to think, where is this energy? Oh, I have too much clothes. >> It's not really the clutter we're worried about. That's one of the access. >> There's a mom. >> All right. Now, let me double lock these so I don't get any tighter on you. Okay. >> So, can I take some of my in before I go into the jail and >> are you going to overdose? >> How can I overdose? >> You can overdose once a >> No, I'm not going to overdose. I need to give a couple to the nurse and then I'll have one. >> Okay, they can provide. Do you have a prescription for your wallet? >> No, my prescription's out. >> I have a couple. I want to take with to jail or I will >> I'll make sure to get you your medical stuff down there. Okay. >> No. >> Yes. >> I just want to take my >> Stop trying to mess with your couch. >> I'm not going to get it by tonight and I'm going to go into shopping on the floor in Clark County. Never get >> not how coming out. >> Yes, it is. I just tried. >> Can I just grab us a >> No. No. No. Absolutely not. >> Okay. You guys don't care about >> Are they clear? Do you want any shoes? You got any slip-on slippers? >> I want to go to the bathroom. >> Okay, we'll get you to the bathroom with Joe. >> No, I want to go now. >> Okay. No. Sorry. >> No, I want to go to the bathroom. >> No, we're going downstairs now. We We can >> Whatever you stepped into your pants, you'll get it later. Come on. >> Yeah, I can I can see this, too. >> The There's something in your shirt. There's my third nipple. >> You know what? I can't just >> You want to just stay in there, get photos, take a look around you? >> Yeah. >> Mom, I wasn't taking photos in my [ __ ] room that I just tore apart. >> It's not me. If you find her car keys, let me know. >> Okay. >> Are you a police officer? >> I am. >> Okay. >> I am. What does her uh keys look like? Here we go. Just trying to see what uh that child might have taken. >> Um the last time I saw anything like I saw foil Yeah. >> was in a um a little container on her >> nightstand. >> Nightstand, but that's all I thought of in the foil or debris. Like usually I find some with debris. >> Okay. Was that today? >> No. He is a chronic user >> of what? Um, she goes through phases where she will get cleaned. >> Okay. >> But yeah, we've been fighting this off. >> Your mom, >> huh? >> Your mom, I'm assuming. >> Okay. >> She's not on the lease, but I can't keep I can't keep her out. Would you leave? >> Um, yeah. You would have to get like a uh eviction. So, you can do that through the courts or if you feel like there's other issues that require protection order, you can file for one of those at the courthouse as well. And um those are kind of your two options right now for not having her here. >> This is what I saw the foil in. >> That's what you found the foil in before? >> Yeah. It was on the table when I saw it. >> The last time? >> Yeah. >> How long ago was that? >> Oh, that was um maybe a little bit before lunchtime. >> Oh, today? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Oh, okay. Did the daughter admit to you at all she was using >> today? No, >> she did. >> She did not admit anything. But you know your daughter's addicted to >> Yeah, I know she's addicted to some I I think it's I can't be for certain. >> She was asking to take her or else she wouldn't show. >> Yeah, she was >> she she doesn't have any act right now. She's out. >> Is there a reason you keep on? >> Well, I'm also uh kind of in the medical field. I I um I'm a tech licensed vette. Um and I know my daughter uses so I wanted to have it on hand. And then I work at the new Medvet in Vancouver. We've had a couple overdoses out there. So that's why >> you're trying to help your daughter get clean. >> I'm trying. >> Do you know it's it's damn near impossible to keep the kids safe while you're trying. It's too much on one person. >> Believe me, I know. I have been struggling. >> Over work trying to save one over the other. >> You know what I mean? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> So that's going to be a tough That's a tough family decision. You know what I mean? >> Mhm. >> Um Yeah. I saw no remorse. >> She's not in her right frame of mind right now, so I'm not going to fault her for that. You should. That's your choices. Yeah, that's a tough beh. But that is also a disease. >> It is, but it has to be treated and you can't fix them. I help them try to fix themselves. >> I understand that. >> But if they don't, >> if she's not going to go >> Yeah. >> I What am I supposed to do? >> Remorse on her part. >> Well, yeah. I mean, you of course I I would love to see the remorse, but she >> Well, sometimes you can't help her, and all you can do is try to get custody of the kids and take care of the children cuz they they need that. It is such a mess right now with the courts because there's a court case in a different county and we can't do >> and here in Clark County unfortunately. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Perfect. Came back as Okay. >> There's probably in the bedroom then >> probably. Yeah. So, we're we're locking it down like a crime scene right now cuz we we legally entered it. >> Yeah. So, there is a restraint. There's two competing restraining orders between her and the one that protects her from him. uh she the children are listed, but then there's also one protecting him from her. So, I'm getting a copy to see if the children are also listed. I mean, I know it's competing orders, but >> if it lists in there and she's not supposed to have the kids and this is happening again. >> Uh yeah, but they're emailing it to me. So, >> you called us. >> Yeah. >> Regarding >> regarding um getting help. >> Okay. >> Um I wasn't for sure if what I was doing was helping, so I wanted to get the professionals here. Okay. What What did you do before you called us? >> Oh, I came out of my room cuz I was sleeping cuz I work graveyard cuz I heard Summer screaming. Um and I saw her coming out of her room holding a limp and I asked her what the is going on. She said that she's choking on something. She said she's choking. And I'm like okay. So we brought her in my room. I took her from Summer and started pounding on her back, pounding on her chest. And I wasn't getting any results. I said, "Summer, could she have gotten into anything? could she have gotten into anything? And she, I believe, said there's a possibility or something like that. Maybe I'm making that up. I don't know. >> Um, I said, "Call 911." She went in her room to find her phone and I was like at that point also trying to get my can. I had my in my drawer next to my bed. >> So, you're worried that you're >> I was cuz she was totally unresponsive, just limp. Uh, lips were blue. administered the first dose in her I think her left right mouth full she made like a little bit of a breath so I'm like okay she's coming around I kept talking to her oh and by that time um I did have 911 on the phone no I didn't I didn't have him on the phone yet >> and this was after you gave her the dose right >> yeah and then I gave her the second dose because the she still wasn't you know coming around well after the second dose is when um I got a little bit more of a um response like she breathed a little bit better. Um maybe a couple of like, >> you know, kind of breaths like that, >> like short breaths. >> Yeah. And I was still screaming at Summer. I said, "Call 911. Call 911." Cuz she still wasn't Nothing had happened. So I'm like, I think in the middle of of giving the second or I don't know if I'd already given the second dose or before I gave the second dose, I uh called 911 on my phone because it was right there. And so she she was breathing. I could hear it. I could feel it. Her chest was rising up and down. And then she eventually like poop right before you guys came. She actually looked like alert. I put her on her side just in case she's, you know, vomited and Summer was um putting clothes on her and then I heard the knock on the door. I went downstairs to open the door for you guys. >> Did you hear any like toilets flushing or anything? >> No. No, I didn't hear any toilet flushing. And Summer's uh Summer's toilet is um is not the best uh flusher. So yeah, it doesn't always flush. When she became a little bit more responsive, she she was looser in her jaw. So I was able to get a little bit of a better look. I did see some debris on her tongue. >> I don't know what that was from, but yeah, she wasn't actively choking on anything that I could tell. Color of like a orange creamsicle, you know, kind of orangey. >> Okay. >> And it was just a little bit. It looked like it was um kind of dissolving. You know what I'm saying? It wasn't solid. And you had mentioned earlier that you saw that tinfoil and that black little container thing earlier today. >> What time do you think that was? >> Around 11:30. I remember sticking my head in there to check on everybody. And I did that's when I saw the thing next to the um bed with the foil and I asked her. I said, "What is that?" She just said it was um to fix her candle. I don't I'm And yeah, cuz she knows. And I will be honest with you, whenever I see foil in my house, like a Reynolds, you know, foil container, I throw it away cuz I know what it's for. >> Have you been around her when she's high? >> Oh, yeah. >> Okay. >> It's bad. When she gets money in her pocket, she don't know how to act. But it hasn't been a constant, you know, usage. She's had her moments of sobriety and getting clean and then for whatever reason something triggers her and she starts using again. >> She was not supposed to bring any more animals here. I've already got two and then she brought two cats so she destroyed my house. >> A whole house in here. He's pretty sweet little guy. >> He is sweet. He's He puts up a lot with these little girls. he was trying to get custody of the girls basically. Um, so there's like a parenting agreement that's not a finalized parenting agreement. Long story short, we've had these girls full-time for a year now cuz he got charged with I don't remember exactly the charges for him, but he has he's never actually gone to court yet for that because he doesn't come to the court him for that. and he just recently got charged with and went to court for presidential burglary. >> Oh, okay. >> So, he hasn't had any contact with these girls for a year now. >> Um, but when Summer >> himself either >> Yeah. When Summers tried to get full custody here, they wouldn't do it because that case is still going on at Greece Harbor. So, it's I Yeah, it's just a hot mess and I don't know how to fix it. My assumption is that CPS will probably get involved and at least temporarily place the kids in your >> place the kids in your custody. >> So, are you the one that took Summer to the >> No, she's done. >> Officer Affairs is the one that took them the one trying to be very calm with her and patient with her. So, >> yeah. When she gets upset, it's really really hard to get her. >> She's understandable. >> You know what I'm saying? And and I don't know if she's used today, but I know she if she hasn't used, she's at least coming down. That affects her as well. She's mean as hell. >> And then when you moved here, does she just follow you or >> She came because she had nowhere else to go and um you know, I have to be involved with the girls, too. So, >> and it's easier for them to all be underneath one roof. >> Yeah. But the thing is like she's not on the lease. She can't be on the lease. She's got a DVR on her. I I could not get her to leave as much as I wanted to get try and get her out. Like go go go to a rehab, get clean, >> but she she refused to leave. >> Plus, it's the best option. I know it may not be the way we want to do it, but we know the outcome going that way will be what is best for >> Yeah. Cuz what if I hadn't been here? >> Exactly. >> The fact that she did not even want AMR to take vitals 100%. to be honest with you guys and you can write it in your book cuz I will tell the judge. She didn't even want me calling 911. She did not want me calling 911. She tried to stop. She did hang up at one point. Nobody had answered yet, but I called him back. I mean, that's just cuz she doesn't want to get in trouble. >> Yeah. >> For the Right. And I understand that, but god damn it. The baby's like right arm. I hope you understand that as >> doesn't mean you're not going to see them again, right? But that's why I said you got to work on getting custo. >> And unfortunately, you're probably going to have to distance yourself from your daughter until she can fix herself. >> Well, I hope she just stays left until she can get help. >> She needs help. >> We're still waiting on the detectives. So, we're still going to be here. No box. Fig books. Do we take or do we leave it? >> Feel like the photo is in. >> They're not going to Yeah, they're not going to test it for anything. So, the kids aren't in here anymore. So, nothing. Uh, we got our warrant. Served it in the room. Didn't find anything. Is there anything any other places in the house? I don't want to tear this whole place apart. I know you live here, too. Our warrant is for the whole place, but we don't want to. >> Her car. >> Her car >> in the garage. >> Okay, we'll go take a look at the car. Our warrant doesn't have the car listed on it, but we'll go take a look. I don't see anything. We're not seeing anything in there. In the coming days, if you do find anything as you're living your life, uh, give us a call and we can come collect it. Um, if you do find stuff, just don't move it. Just leave it where it is. As long as it's in a safe place, right? No one's gonna, you know, no dogs are going to get it or like whatever like that. If it can't stay there, just leave it there. Call an officer over. They'll take some photos and take it from you. >> Okay, >> cool. I'm going to hand you a copy of our uh warrant just to say that we just to show you that we did it and that it was signed by a judge. And then I'll just leave you with a blank property receipt. So, we didn't take anything. >> Okay, >> cool. I'm going to print out the um the last thing I need to print out for you. Um, also, um, the >> the guy Zack from the I guess the DCY phone, he was supposed to text me with information about so I can call first thing in the morning for the girls and I haven't received a text. Is there any way for you guys to >> We'll get that info for you. >> Uh, Jessica, so he said for now it's going to be the just a generic office number. I can give that to you. He said that um somebody's going to probably get assigned to the kids at probably like 7 or 8 in the morning. So um hopefully there'll be a a specific person we can talk to at that point. >> Are they all felonies? >> Nope. Uh two of them are felonies, three of them misdemeanor. Um so the she was charged with obstruction, resisting and possession of control substance being offended on her body. So those are all three are misdemeanors and then felony of uh child mistreatment in the second degree and endangerment uh with a controlled substance. >> Any other questions for us? >> I don't think so. >> All right. I appreciate your cooperation, man. >> No worries. >> Yeah. >> Thank you as well. The woman was charged with endangerment involving a controlled substance, criminal mistreatment in the second degree, resisting arrest, obstructing a law enforcement officer, and possession of a controlled substance.
