I said, "So, you came out here to get your beat?" And she was like, "Yeah, yeah." And stepped out the car, shot the gun, and she has kids in the back seat, no car seat. I got you. >> That's the one who took me to jail last time. >> I didn't shoot it at her, but I shot it in. >> On May 6th, 2024, officers responded to a residence following a report of a woman claiming her cousin's sister had threatened her boyfriend online, saying she would show up unannounced and damage his home. When she arrived, the woman allegedly displayed a weapon and attempted to fire it with young family members standing behind her. I'm Jack and this is Unpopular. >> Are you talking to our dispatch? >> Yeah. >> Okay. He can hang up from them. >> The information I got, somebody shot at you. >> Yeah. >> Y'all didn't see a blue car. >> Uh-uh. >> No. Who was the person that shot? >> Ka Cooper. >> And how do you know her? >> She's my cousin's sister. >> She's not like a family member. you know, not of mine. >> Why would she shoot at you? What was the >> She came to She was threatening my boyfriend. He's at work. He told her not to come to his house. She was coming to to mess up his house. And he said, "I'm not home. Don't come to my house." And she came out here and he texted me and he was like, "Is she out there?" And I looked and I said, "She is." And when I opened the door, I said, "So you came out here to get your beat?" And she was like, "Yeah, yeah." And stepped out the car, shot the gun. Did it hit your >> No, it went that way. But I have it on camera and everything cuz I recorded her. >> Where was she when she shot the >> in the driveway right here? And she has kids in the back seat. No car seat. Do >> it does look like a gray or dark blue Ultima. >> Where were you standing whenever she shot? >> Right there at the door. >> Door. And what was she saying? >> She got out the car. I said, "So you came out here to get your" And she said, "Yep, yep. What's up?" And got out the car, caught the and shot it. So I said, "Oh, okay. Oh, I'm scared." And she ced it again. And then that's when I seen her baby open the door in the back seat. And I see his kids in the back seat, no car seat, and nothing. She shut the back door again. So that's why I said, "Oh, okay. So, you have your kids out here and you just shot at me. I'm calling the police. >> Okay. >> What was the time frame from when you called us? Right away. >> Soon as right away. That's why I said y'all didn't see that car leaving here. >> Do you know where she lives at? Where she would be >> in Vanel? That's why I said it should be going towards Banel. That's why I said I'm surprised y'all didn't see it coming here. But I know she knows like this type area too. So, she's probably sitting around hiding somewhere trying to leave. But even the neighbor right here was right here when it happened. She was leaving as it happened. So she >> So the general direction that was pointed at was >> she was pointing like this like it looked like she was pointing at me but of course when she shot it it didn't shoot me. So >> Okay. But it it was in the Okay. >> Is that like the house? Let's go check the house. See if we uh see. >> Can I see the video if you don't mind while you guys >> How many kids she have in the car with her? >> Two probably. I know she has two kids but I seen one physically. >> Do you remember what she was wearing? You could probably see on the video. >> And it was a hand that she had or a long hand. What color again? >> Silver. >> What the one juvenile car? Possibly too. >> You could see her get out the car with the in her hand. >> I'm going to try to zoom in. >> Yeah. >> So, you want >> Okay. >> Do they have the vehicle? >> They might. Are you hurt at all? Do you need any medical attention or anything like that? Okay. And what was the argument over >> something she posted online about my boyfriend and was arguing with him about it and she was saying oh she's going to come to his house and it up and he was like don't go to my house like I'm not >> what is what is their relationship >> they used to go to my house >> okay I'm just trying to see if it hit your and there's no one else inside >> no >> okay what she posts online >> something I don't even know something aware of just being funny on Facebook and all that and stuff and he went off on her about it and told her to take it down and then she said, "Oh, she was going to come here and mess up his house and this and that." And he told her, "Don't come here. He's at work." >> Okay. >> And she came here anyway. Her not knowing I'm here. >> Yeah. >> And my truck is out here either. So, she really didn't think no one was here. >> Did she call you? That's how you need to come out or did you see her? >> No. He called me and asked me. Well, he text me and asked me was she there cuz I was almost asleep and he was like, "Is she out there?" And when I looked out, I seen the car at the edge of the driveway and I said, "Oh, she is out there." So, I came and I stepped to the uh door and I'm like, that's when I opened the door. As soon as I opened the door, that's when I hit the record. >> Okay. >> But then he started calling me cuz I did tell him that she was here. >> Okay. So it didn't record when she shot, but cuz I answered the phone when she shot, but I'm like, "Oh, so you came out of here to get your She was like, "Yeah, she jumped out the car, C and shot it and then ced it again." I'm like, "Okay." Like, you came out here for what? And then you have your kids out here. HEY, >> ON THIS SIDE. >> I got you. I got you. >> HEY, WATCH YOUR CROSSFIRE. >> COME OVER. >> HEY. HEY. GET OUT OF THE WAY. >> HEY, my kids, man. >> We got you walking to your right. Back up. >> I got a baby in my back. >> I got one juvenile over there so far. >> One year old and a four-year-old. No one else. >> All right. >> Are they both in the back? I see. I see the four-year-old. >> Hey, listen. All of us. Let's go around there. Let's do this. Ready? >> This is You said was your boyfriend's Is this like a ex or a cousin or it was a family member? Your boyfriend or >> someone he was messing around with? >> Okay. Okay. So, was this like something like years ago or recently that he was having a relationship with? >> Years ago. >> Years ago. When did she start like giving you issues or problems? >> She been because she been doing it behind my back. I've been with him for 10 years. >> Okay. >> And she's one of my She's my cousin's little sister. >> So, uh, you've been married to Who's your Oh, you just been with him? Okay. So, who's your boyfriend? >> Edwin. >> How long have you lived out here on Coconut for? >> This is not my This is his house. >> Oh, okay. But you live here with them? >> No, I'm just here visiting. I was here with my kids this morning. We have kids together. >> So, you have kids together. Where do you >> I live in Palm Coast. >> Come over to me. Hey, Weaver. We're going to hold here. Y'all do the approach. >> All right. We're going to approach the two. >> Where's the four-year-old? >> I can see two. I can see one kid in the back seat right now. We're going to come up from here. >> You got us. All right. >> Over here. >> Whenever you're ready. >> I got you. Okay. Come on. Come on. Come on. I got you. I got you. I got you. Let this female deputy get in search of you. Okay. Go from there. >> If you got the key, just take the key out. >> All right. Do you have anything on you? >> I don't even got no clothes on. >> All right. All right. You can stop the car. >> All right. Listen. Stop. Everyone stop for a second. Whoever's going to work the car, go grab your phone and start photographing everything in place the way it is. >> This is secure, right? >> The car is secure. We can't get into the trunk. There's a box in the back. There's no people. >> All right, you go ahead and sit back in the car. >> Is this your car right here in front? >> The far one. >> Do you like stickers? You do? Do you like these? Look, they feel cool, too. >> Where did they pick her up at? >> One of the gas stations there in Banell, close to US one and 100. I'm not I don't know which gas station it was. >> Did they see the kids in the car? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. after she gets out of the car, like does she walk closer to you or she >> No, she still she stayed next to the car and then that's when the back door flew open. The the child opened >> the same side the same side as the driver side >> opened up the door and that's when she shut it back and then was trying to get back in the car and I oh you have your kids with you like >> did she say anything to you? >> Yeah, she was like yeah I can't fight and caught the but if you can't fight why you have a >> Yeah. How long have you known Kia for? Like I said, she's a my cousin's sister, so all her life. >> Okay, gotcha. >> How you doing, sir? >> All right. How you doing? >> Good. I'm Sergeant Fuentes. This is Detective Scalia. We're just here kind of trying to figure out what happened and whatnot. >> Yeah, me too. I mean, I was in Ocala. >> Yeah. >> Do you mind if I talk to you quick just so you can kind of get a little rundown on what happened? >> So, that they let you know that we have a person detained at this time that did this. >> Okay. >> You don't have kids with Taja, do you? Okay. >> But what happened exactly like to get us to this point with her? I don't know. I guess she was upset on Facebook. I said, "I'm not dealing with it. You know, you're being tired of this. I'm not dealing with it." Okay, I'm She called me. Okay, I'm on your way to the house. Okay. >> Please don't go to my house. Please don't go to my house. Please don't go to my house. >> Hey, somebody told everybody to come to my house. Can you please make sure nothing happened? >> Did she threaten to do anything here or say anything to you that would have made you concerned? >> I mean, when she called me, it was kind of like back and forth. Coming to your house. I'm hanging up. I mean, I'm not there's nothing. I'm not going to go I'm at work. I'm not screaming about me with you that she continues to share her location with me so I can see that she's coming. I call her, "Hey, so and so coming to my house. Can you please make sure nothing happens to my house?" >> Say she's going to do anything once she got to your house or she just says, "I'm coming to your house." >> To be honest with you, I don't It was kind of like a freement match. So, I heard coming to my house and when I heard come to my house, don't come to don't go to my house. But did you didn't hear any like threats or like I'm going to do anything? >> No. As soon as she said go to my house, I just said don't go to my house. >> Did her location put her here? Where did her location put her at when when she shared it? >> So it was a continuous location. Like now with the new iPhone, you can send it for indefinitely to the end of the day or for an hour. >> So it'll show you if you're traveling, it'll show you traveling and then after that hour, it's gone. >> So you actually saw her location was here? No, I didn't see it here, but I just seen when I when I seen that she shared her location, I called her and said, "Hey, she shared her location." So, I'm pretty sure she's probably going to come out there. >> Okay. >> And at that point in time, like you can't see through my front glass. >> Yeah. Yeah. It's really dark. >> Yeah. She's standing at the front door watching. And she she said, "Oh, she's backing in." >> Has she been here before? >> She has been like as an invited guest like >> Yeah, she's been here before. >> Does she have a key to the house? >> No. >> Okay. >> This was very spontaneous like very This is not >> Has you knowing her, I don't know how long you've known her for? I mean, is this like does she she's never done anything or gotten >> not not this >> maybe yelling, screaming, but has she ever gotten like physical? >> Not with nothing like >> she didn't want to get physical. That's why she pulled it out. >> Okay. Did you know that she ever owned a firearm? I mean, yeah, I knew she had a but I had multiple in my house that if I would have suspected that or wanted that or wanted her to react in any type of way, I would have told her that there's rifles and whatever you need to protect yourself >> so far, I haven't been able to like we found the casing. You saw that. >> Uh but so far, we haven't actually found the the projectile. >> 9 mm. That's what I thought. GL 9 mm lubver. >> Yeah, they said louver 9 mm gold casing. >> Oh, I got a pouch in there. I don't know. I'll probably have my have y'all give one of my stickers and I got a child support card in there that got money on it. So, if you can put that in the pouch and then give it to one of them >> that we're we're getting way ahead of ourselves more right now. >> Oh, okay. Okay. >> We got a long ways to go before we start worrying about any of that. >> And this gentleman that has been busy, >> that's my grandfather, George. >> Okay. Thank you. You said that's the last person he wanted me to call. >> That's the last person. I'm I ain't going to hit the end of it. >> For real. Cuz when I just I just got my license back and he was on my back about that like bad. >> The one kid's last name was Melinda. What was his dad? Her dad. >> It's a long story. >> It's a long story. She not no relation to window. >> It's not. So you born and raised in now. >> It's okay if my sister come over here and talk to me. Um, probably not right at this time. Unless is it about the kids? Is it about the kids? >> She just want I guess she just want to know what's going on. She was coming to see >> me. I'll go explain to her a little bit. >> Hello. You're her sister, correct? >> I can't hear. I'm just That's why I'm so close to you. Sorry. >> All right. So, long story short, there was an incident out on Coconut. I don't know if it's some sort of like baby daddy drama or something, but um there's some other people coming to talk to her. Grandpa has the kids. So >> yeah, I called him to come get the kid. >> Oh yeah, she was super stoked about that one. >> Yeah, cuz my grandpa, he old school. You tell him one thing and it's just going to be real big. >> So >> could y'all give me any information on what's going on? Can y'all fill me in on something >> a little bit? Can I just get your name first? >> Chassity. >> I don't know if she's going to jail right now or not. I don't know what we're going to do to the car yet. There's a lot of moving still happening. If the car doesn't get towed, would you like to get a phone call? >> So, did she go out? Was it like a altercation or something? Or I'm probably asking too many questions. >> No, there's no too many questions. Just, you know, this early on there's some stuff that I can't >> Oh, okay. Ain't no life or death, is it? >> No, no, no, no. One's dead or anything like that. >> My baby needs some milk. Hey, y'all got cash on y'all? You go to the store and get a gallon of milk. >> You just step back right here. Thank you. I know his car is hot, but >> yeah, he he tried to uh get me to sit in there, but he was like, "The back seat hot." I already know the back seat hot. I rather hang outside. I'm just glad y'all partner up. But his name is I think it's like Schmidz or something like that or Stunts or something like that. He riding the ghost car. I don't like him. Why not? That's the one who took me to jail last time. He hadn't already gave me no warning. He said if that was my license, he said if I catch you driving again, you know, I'm taking you to jail. He caught me again and he took me to jail. But then he made me sit in the back of the hot ass car when we got to the uh jail house in the garage and it's hot as hell in there. >> Well, that's not his fault. >> Sometimes if I >> No, cuz he was he was in typing out the little report. >> Mhm. >> He could have did that already. He wanted He wanted me to him in the heat. >> No, he's working today. He's just not over here. >> That's good. >> I'm usually with him all the time. >> Yeah. >> That's my That's my twin. >> Well, you must be the good 10. He must be the bad >> depend someday. It really shouldn't be taking this long. Not too much happened. >> Your sisters definitely seem like they care about you a lot. >> Yeah, my sister got off work to come down here. It ain't really me to be honest though. It's my kids. That's why they came. >> That's what good siblings are there for is your kids though. My sister lives in Michigan. She'd be here 3 and 1/2 hours by the time you drive if I call for my kids. Now me figure it out, >> right? But a kid, they cut. >> Mhm. >> She was saying she doesn't like it. Kind of short red hair. You kind of >> looks like a leprechaun. >> Must be the good twin though of the two of us. >> I ain't even going to lie. That rain probably feels so good right now. >> Speak for yourself. This stuff don't dry out when you get rain on. >> Me and your sister just trying to have a conversation with like two deaf people yelling at each other. >> Hey, she is a little deaf though. She is hard to hear. >> So am I. [laughter] I've shot way too many in my life. But know your protection. >> She said now they call my brother. I'm definitely never going to hear. >> Oh, you know what? I just I just need you to wait. >> Yeah. No, I know. I can't talk to her. Can't tell what's going on. >> Yeah. Let's walk over here. We're not right in the middle of the parking lot. Like I told your sister, there was an incident on the west side of the county. >> Well, y'all going to take her to jail or what's >> I have not been there to talk to the people where it happened at >> on the other side. Okay. >> So, I've just been sitting here >> on my day off. This what I got to deal with on my day off, huh, man? >> It's always something, man. >> Always something. You got some social. You know that? >> Oh, he pissed. Said you going to ruin his day off. My day off. N got to deal with making sense. He said he going to beat my detective. >> Hey, how you doing? >> Break dinner right? >> Yes. >> Do you mind talking to us today? >> Yeah, I'm good. >> Okay. You have a bit of privacy when we talk. I got to have her follow us and everything that way. Thank you. Whoever they have a female present with us, too. >> Of course. >> Thank you. Based on these circumstances, uh you're like, you understand this? >> Yes. cuz I kind of heard a little bit about what happened and not whatever. But he kind of says something like so I actually understand kind of what happened today from the beginning. >> Well, it all started from a Facebook. I shared a post this morning and I made a little joke or whatever and I guessed what I said and he said it. So Ed called Ed. Yeah, he called me or whatever and we ended up going to his house. I didn't know anybody was there or whatever. Then his baby mom came outside. Oh, you want to get your third or whatever. So at first I'm like, you know, we can we can fight it out. So she like, "Cool." She said, "Stop." So then I pulled my gun out. I didn't shoot it at her, but I shot it hitting me. So then after that, that was pretty much it. That's how that happened. Like I left. >> Where Where were you when you shot me? >> At the end of the driveway. >> In the driveway. Were you just standing there or were you in your car? Were you out of the car? >> I was like at the door of my car. >> Was there any other adults with you or just I think you had two two kids? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So it was you and two kids. What kind of was it? >> 48. 48. Where exactly did you shoot? >> Like >> that's kind of hard to demonstrate, I guess. >> I know, right? >> Like straight in the air like you shot it down or did you go across? >> I just went like that. Like literally just went like that. >> Okay. >> And it shot in there. >> You didn't even at her? >> No. >> But this was to what was the point of it was made the anger is directed towards him. Like I said, I did not know she was there. I didn't know she was there. >> So you're angry at heaven? >> Yeah. >> It was all directed towards him. >> Yeah. The problem is she did she >> did she come out of the house or was she like >> she came out and stood and came on the porch and was like, "Oh, you want to get you know." >> Okay. >> So, yeah. And then it went from there. >> Did anyone come outside? >> No, he wasn't even home. >> How many rounds ended up being fired? One. >> Just one. Nothing happened to you, right? You didn't get hurt. Nobody. Did anybody try to hurt me? Did he treat you okay when they had you stop and everything? Yeah. Okay. Do what they had to do, basically. >> I mean, I've been cooperating, so it ain't been no issue. >> Oh, no. I appreciate you don't understand some of the some people how they treat us. It's just very refreshing to have >> and I mean I already I knew they was I mean she had already said she was going to call the police and then I I passed them going out there. >> Okay. >> So they they didn't they didn't stop me until I got up here >> and then I had already seen him like over there in the cut. So I just came to the gas station and sat right there cuz I seen him already plotting. >> Oh, so you already saw me and was like I'm going to just hang out here. That's how you did that? Oh, okay. >> That was me. >> Oh, okay. Yeah, I see. >> Thank you. >> We'll go back over here. >> All right. >> You still can't tell me what the charge is. >> So, it's going to be aggravating assault with a deadly weapon. >> Okay. >> Um is the main one. And then you're suspended, right? >> No. No. No. >> No, you're not. >> No. >> Oh, okay. The woman was charged with two counts of CA and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
