There's nothing that really can take its place. I've been on a bunch of different roller coasters and theme park rides and nothing's quite like being in a helicopter. I'm Sergeant Dan Campbell with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue and Aviation Unit. Today we're doing some dynamic hoist training, putting together some new skill sets for some of our newer members of the team, and recertifying some of the guys that have been on the team for quite some time. There are certain situations where their condition or their medical history or their injury may not be able to wait for a ground team to get to them and that's where we would need to dynamically hoist into that situation. We don't really get to pick where our rescues get to occur, so we'd like to train in an area or an environment that we're probably going to most likely be responding to. It's an inherent risk and it is a dangerous job. However, it can be the difference of life and death for the victims on the ground.
